NobbyD · 24/08/2012 15:38

hi all - can I join too?

I was over on the due March 2013 for a little while until I had my scan this week at what the doctor thought I would be 12 weeks, turns out I am 8. So due 1st April. Nice to see the little heart beat but that really was all I saw so looking forward to the next proper scan in a month.

Also thought I'd be getting over this horrible nausea soon but looks like it'll be another month! I've also got the hugest belly already. This is number 2 for me (have ds who is 4) and I knew you grew sooner but not this soon! None of my clothes fit. It also feels bloated and hard - I think it could be because I have to eat all the time to keep the sickness at bay. Before BFP I was pretty much on the GI diet (no bread, potatoes, pasta etc) and a keen marathon runner. since BFP I have pigged out on everything and not even walked to the end of my road. Think my belly is going to explode!

Looking forward to chatting to you all. Hope the sickness wears off for us all soon.

Teapig · 24/08/2012 16:30

Welcome NobbyD! Roll on the 12 week scan for us all.

Just had a scan and scan is in the right place so not an ectopic, phew! Everything looked in order so my lower abdominal pain remains a mystery. Nurse said it could be my appendix or bowel or pregnancy pains. I'm going with the latter because I don't have the time to worry about more potential health problems.

As I'm only 5+4 they couldn't see contents of the sack which is apparently pretty normal at this stage so I've got to go back for a viability scan on 13th Sep. Fingers massively crossed that will be ok too.

Jozee · 24/08/2012 16:51

Count me in. April 20th is EDD. Very anxious and completely bricking it. No idea what to do next lol.

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 16:56

Great news teapig! Welcome to the newcomers.

5 weeks today!

alwayshopeful13 · 24/08/2012 17:04

That's great news teapig - hope the days til Sept 13th don't go too slowly.

Welcome jozee and the other newcomers.

angeltattoo · 24/08/2012 19:31

Great news teapig!

And welcome newbies.

I have a scan booked for Monday, hopefully to see heartbeat, am nervous and excited and scared and worried and anxious! I have a wedding to go to next weekend and my friends will sus me for sure the second they see me without a glass of wine in both hands! So hoping to have a healthy scan as something to go on...!

angeltattoo · 24/08/2012 19:33

Oh, forgot...6+6 today.

I tang today as no booking in appt for me yet, and I was wondering if a referral had been made, hospital told me they'd book me in at 10-12 weeks, then scan at 12-13 weeks. Seems so far away!

KittyBump · 24/08/2012 19:56

Great news teapig how bad were the pains as they do say some cramping pain is normal.

Hiya newcomers and good luck to everyone booking scans :)

I'm having a bit of a wobble today so would appreciate some opinions if anyone has the time...
So my last cycle was 44 days (opks say ov on CD30), it was my first period since having DD in Dec 2010 (bit of a shock to the system!). Then this month I didn't bother with opk as I wasn't sure when to start so just didn't. On CD 14 I had ov pain and EWCM then on CD 29 (monday) I did an Internet cheapie HPT and got a feint line (was about 8pm). Next day stronger line with FMU still on Internet cheapie. DH still not convinced so on Wed I did a sainsburys test and a digital! Both positive.
Still with me :) ... I just can't shake the feeling that i need to wait until CD44 to be sure AF isn't coming as that's how long my last cycle was, is that mad?

kellestar · 24/08/2012 21:17

good news teapig

kitty if it's positive now, it's unlikely to change. Have you made a booking in appt yet? They still go by the date of your LMP even if it's irregular. What I was advised this morning, anyhoo. Until your dating scan that confirms your EDD. It is unnerving, my periods had just started to get a little bit normal and then this blip and it was ages until I could get into see my usual GP [in fact next week, I've cancelled the appt now] I'm glad I went and bought some tesco tests anyway. I should have learnt my lesson from last time with the internet cheapies.

KittyBump · 24/08/2012 21:22

Hi kellestar thanks for the reply. I haven't called my GP yet, just can't seem to do it. I'll probably wait till Thursday now as that's the first day I won't be at work after the long weekend. I'm toying with doing another test - this is crazy, I did one test with DD and she was my first!
Have you had your booking in apps then or just booked it? I think I'm only 4 + 4 so wouldn't be for a while anyway. Ooh thunder!

Dysgu · 24/08/2012 22:25

Hello everyone and all the newcomers.

The first few weeks are so strange aren't they. The test is positive but then some people get lots of symptoms and others have almost none. And it seems that different places sort the booking in and scans differently too.

I went to see GP yesterday - all very normal and dull as fas as he is concerned! But I filled in the referral form for the midwives so just have to wait now.

My biggest concern (apart from the nausea that has kicked in) is what I am going to wear when I go back to work at the start of next month. My stomach seems huge -okay when wearing my jeans, leggings or trackies but none of them are suitable for the classroom. So I have been on ebay and have bought two pairs of maternity trousers as well as a couple of belly bands and a set of belly belts that basically do the 'hair bobble' things but with an insert too (just in case my tops rides up! I notice there are a couple of other teachers on here - what are other people doing (teachers and those who work the summer holidays!)?

Dysgu · 24/08/2012 22:26

Oh 5+2 (I think!)

blondecat · 25/08/2012 06:58

Bunnygirl80, yes it's me I was on nov 2010 thread

I am not on the timeline here but perhaps there is no point asking. I started having small cramps and mild spotting last night. Friday night, of course so no chance to see anyone until Monday. At any rate there is little anyone can do.

It will be second time in a row. I know it's better earlier rather than later and perhaps there is something wrong with the baby but still it makes me so sad. I know I should relax but I it's hard. And DH is not there. Just like the first time. He is in brazil, just like the first time.

Good luck everyone

HaveALittleFaith · 25/08/2012 07:51

I'm so sorry to hear that blondecat :( is there anyone else that can be with you?

NotShortImFunSized · 25/08/2012 08:22

Well, here I am.

I NEVER in a million years thought I'd be on these boards again but life had other plans apparently!

I am still totally Shock about the whole thing so thought it would seem more real if I joined in here.

I used to be on MN obsessively quite a lot but my mad hectic life hasn't left much time for that in the last year or so!

Anyhooo I'm 31 and this will be DC 6. Yup, you did read that right. I feel sick just thinking about it all right now but I'm sure I'll be fine!

Only early days yet, due 23rd April.

Huge congrats to you all, can't believe so many here are on DC1 and 2. I feel like a bit of a fraud joining in Confused

EssexWelsh · 25/08/2012 08:46

blondecat don't worry just yet, I had more than mild spotting and have since seen an iccle heartbeat and many others the same. Almost impossible to stay positive and not worry but it really could be fine. Is there not a 24/7 EPAU near you in a hospital?

Giddypants · 25/08/2012 09:57

Good morning ladies, and welcome new upduffers! notshort wow DC 6 congratulations

I'm feeling really sick today felt so tired I cried when DH came back from work, I fell asleep for 5 mins on the sofa and DS managed to remove my sock and attempt to put his boot on my foot Hmm
Had a really big argument with my dad on Wednesday he 'apologised' yesterday in a text which went something like I'm sorry but it was your fault! Which I obviously haven't accepted I didn't ask him to ring me and shout down the phone at me about something nothing to do with me, at the time I had just vomited and was feeling so tired but has DS to entertain.
I'm still so annoyed he thought that it was acceptable to do that.
Anyway rant over is anyone else getting butterfly kisses in their Lower abdomen? Keep thinking I'm imagining it but then it happens again, surely too early to feel any movement?
8+3

plannedshock · 25/08/2012 11:25

Hey hoping to join in! I'm due 15th April after 2yrs and a few rounds of clomid! Got my 1st scan on weds to see how many beauts are in there!!!! Stil doesn't feel real-apart from the huge boobs and hunger of a beast part!!!

JaquelineHyde · 25/08/2012 13:39

Hello ladies and welcome to the new comers.

I went to the Dr's yesterday to let them know I had had a bfp, answered the usual boring questions and had my blood pressure taken. She did have a good feel of my tummy as I have been getting some sharp pains down the left side and said I should keep an eye on it over the next few days.

Other than that just waiting for the midwife referral now and trying desperately not to let on to anyone until the 12 weeks is up!

6+1 (half way there, hurrah)

Hollers81 · 25/08/2012 14:30

I'd like to join too!! My due date is 16th April and it's our first. Where can I find out what all the abreviations mean? I'm confused and tired!

highlandbird · 25/08/2012 15:07

Still here, never much time to write much or read all posts, nausea and lethargy kicked in and DS teething, DH ill with virus, joys :D
Hollers if you go to the bottom of this page there is a link to all the abbreviations, you'll get used to them quick enough Grin I'm due on the 16th too, congratulations!

Duchess79 · 25/08/2012 15:37

hello I'm new to Mumsnet. First baby due on April 9th so still seems to be a bit early to get too excited. I need to learn all the abbreviations! Can't quite believe I haven't felt sick yet, just starving hungry and the most ridiculous sense of smell. Great to share other people's experiences.

LoobyLou33 · 25/08/2012 16:35

Welcome newbies! Grin good to have your company. notshort, DC6, wow, that's an achievement! Good work ;-)

duchess the sense of smell is bizarre, isn't it! I can't bear to open the bin and have to hold my breath with the fridge!

Nausea has kicked in...ugh....hate it. Coke (within reason), crisps and dry biscuits... I did have some quite red blood yesterday and was worried but not had anything since so unless there's more I won't contact the GP.

growyourown77 · 25/08/2012 16:44

Hi ladies, just joining in tentatively today...

I was on MN last year with first pregnancy that ended in a rather dramatic ectopic and tube removal in November.

Nervously excited about being pregnant again - we had a series of BFPs last weekend, followed by an ectopic scare on Monday/Tuesday. At the hospital they were - amazingly - able to see the gestational sac in my uterus on an internal ultrasound (at 4w4d!) so have confirmed that this one is NOT ectopic. We're delighted! Teapig - I can see you've been through similar, so you must know what a relief this is that my remaining tube worked and we have the same chances of success as everyone else now.

So today I am 5w1d, due on 26 April and still nervous of mc etc, but keeping a positive attitude, staying healthy and hoping that we get to see our little chickpea's heartbeat at the follow up 6 week scan on 5th Sept.

Big congrats to everyone on the thread...

Xx

HaveALittleFaith · 25/08/2012 17:32

Hello grow, you're the same as me 5+1! Pleased to hear the scan showed good news :)

The smell thing is bizarre! Not everything smells bad but some stuff smells so strong! Fridge is a bad zone, the dishwasher is awful. For me the bad smells are partly what's triggering off the sickness. Still exhausted - thank goodness for a long weekend!

5+1!
