BonaDea - can't cancel her. We live in E Europe and flights are booked. I might come up with some sort of 'ill' excuse though. My Dad is coming 2 weeks later but I'm banking on the fact that he's not very observant Wink

JessieEssex · 23/08/2012 16:25

I am SO bloated too (8+1) - I swear my stomach looks about the same as it did at 20 weeks with DD1. I also can't stop eating - today's extras include two bags of salt and vinegar crisps and a large flapjack...

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 23/08/2012 16:33

Hi. Didn't know whether to bookmark and keep lurking or just post and join...decided on the latter! Got BFP with DC3 on Tuesday and EDD is 23rd April. My DS is nearly 6 and DD is 2.5.

When I was pg with DS I didnt found out until nearly 12 weeks so it went really quickly. Will DD and this time I've found out straight away and I'm sure it's going to drag! I am looking forward to the kicking stage as there is much more reassurance when you can feel them moving.

I had my first booking in appointment with the midwife today and loved getting my maternity notes! Had to arrange to see a different midwife as I was unhappy with the care my surgery's midwife gave me. Thankfully it was all easily sorted and have been assigned to someone else.

My trousers seem to be ok when I'm standing up but as soon as I sit down they feel super tight. Luckily I work from home at the moment so it's fine to sit with my trousers unbuttoned. I must remind myself that this is not ok when I go back to teaching in a months time!

BonaDea · 23/08/2012 17:58

Congratulations Icompletely

I have never know time pass soooo slowly as it has in the last 4 weeks or so. Unbelieveable! I have my booking appointment on Saturday (very civilsed the hospital does them at the weekend) so at least that is a little milestone. 12 week scan not til 18th September though! Have had two early scans though so at leat i've been able to see the bean's heartbeat twice...

JessieEssex · 23/08/2012 18:16

I really really want to have an early scan, but not until we're past the point where I mc'ed last time (9+2) so I'm going to wait until about 4th Sept (will be about 9+6 by then. Come on time, hurry up!!

spidermanspiderman · 23/08/2012 18:23

I am exhausted and feeling very sick still! Also having the weird dreams (which I'm sure doesn't help with the tiredness).

Only things I need are a new mattress for the crib and a new pram (which I probably don't need but really want). Oh and a new breast pump as have lost a piece from mine somehow. Dh won't let me find out the sex this time so can't go shopping really (also do have everything from before still clothes wise as I could not bear to part with them).

Really, really, really want new maternity clothes though!

zeebee1 · 23/08/2012 18:39

Hi all
I had a bit of a s**t scan today I'm 7+3 - and we have the early scan as we are IVF. We have 2 embryos that have both implanted but only 1 heartbeat detected and it was about 9 days behind where it should be - so we are going back for another scan next Friday - but the outlook looks bleak - we were told not to get our hopes up as at this stage the fetus' should be growing rapidly and it's not - anyone else ever had this size issue??

magictorch · 23/08/2012 18:41

Oh thank goodness you're all feeling the bloat too. I was dismayed and giving myself a stern ticking off as I'd lost 2 stone in the past year. Didn't realise things would start to feel snug already.

Not buying anything until well after 12 week scan and as this is DC1, we'll have to get everything in. Have no idea what to get or even where to begin, having avoided all baby related stuff during fertility treatment.

I did accidentally wander into Babies R Us the other day and then scuttled out again when the assistant asked if I needed help Blush

magictorch · 23/08/2012 18:42

Forgot: 7+3

magictorch · 23/08/2012 18:43

Oh Zeebee fx

Haven't been in that position myself, but hoping it will work out for you x

LoobyLou33 · 23/08/2012 18:51

oh zeebee feeling for you with that scan...it must feel a while til next Friday. Hope you can get through the next week OK.

ratbag your spider experience Shock!! No wonder you had funny dreams...that was a CLOSE shave! That makes me wriggle in my chair!

Also feeling bloated...I always bloat a lot with periods anyway. I seem to remember buying some maternity trousers at 8 weeks last time. Red herring do some nice ones with buttons to extend the waistline. Also if you get jeans that go below the bump (hipster style with stretchy cord pockets) they will work all through. I've been wearing them since the birth too cos they were nice jeans.

Soooo tired! Don't remember being so tired last time. Really grateful I'm not working full time so I can rest a bit, feel for you guys having to dash to the loo during work!

LoobyLou33 · 23/08/2012 18:52

p.S. 6 weeks today.

When do I need to get a booking appointment? Is it about 9 weeks?

zeebee1 · 23/08/2012 19:02

Thanks louby and magic - don't want to bring this lovely thread down!
X

Dysgu · 23/08/2012 19:04

Fingers crossed that everything is okay Zeebee

I went to the doctor today so am now just waiting until the midwife contacts me for my booking in appointment. She won't pick up the notes until next Tuesday so I will probably be back at work by the time she gets round to calling. Last time she came round on a Saturday - they do the booking in appointments as home. There are two midwives attached to my surgery and they are both the same as the last two times so that will be nice as they know my history of delivering early.

And then I went round to see my mum and told her. She had friends round so I snuck into the kitchen when she was making drinks to tell her. She was very happy but did say that she had wondered recently if I was pregnant.

I have also been thinking about maternity clothes. I didn't buy very many with the last two but I am going to have to get some new trousers for going back to work and I am wondering whether to wait until I need maternity ones. I could go down the maternity tights and tunic/dress route for the first few weeks back at school, perhaps.

We got rid of almost everything (baby and maternity) as we were pretty sure we were stopping after two. I do remember a woman turning up for a bag of clothes I freecycled - she had got rid of everything herself and then she got pregnant. (Oh how I laughed with DP at the time!!)

timetomoveon · 23/08/2012 19:07

Fingers crossed for you zeebee

Teapig · 23/08/2012 19:32

I have everything crossed for you Zeebee xx

Ratbag that is truly terrifying spider encounter, enough to give me nightmares.

Does anyone else have a complete lack of symptoms? I know I keep banging on about it but I'm worried that something is up. I think I'm a bit bloated and slightly more tired than usual but don't feel any different to normal, anyone else have this? Apologies to everyone having a tough time with symptoms.

alwayshopeful13 · 23/08/2012 19:47

teapig I'm with you on wondering whether I'm having enough symptoms. Apart from (very fleeting) moments of nausea, which I reckon could be more psychosomatic than anything else, all I've got is super-tiredness. Oh and the fact that my boobs really are enormous, so that's what's reassuring me at the mo. Also the fact that several friends who've gone on to have perfect healthy babies have said they barely had any symptoms beyond tiredness. Fingers crossed everything goes ok for us all x

DeekeyDoo · 23/08/2012 19:59

Babyjames I'm so so sorry ((hugs))

DeekeyDoo · 23/08/2012 20:07

I haven't been on here for a few days and there's so much to catch up on!

Went for my booking appointment with my midwife today and it's starting to feel real! I'm 9 weeks today by my LMP but I think probably 7 weeks.

I have an early reassurance scan tomorrow at 12! So excited and nervous at the same time. Hoping there will be something to see and that i'll be able to get a more accurate due date if all is well.

So I was complaining about not having any symptoms last week but have felt increasingly sick and tired over the past few days!

I'm aiming not to buy anything until 20 weeks but I'm rubbish so we'll see :) I have most things already, but need a new steriliser and am going to treat myself to a new pram. I really want the Cosatto Giggle Treet - anyone else got one/ seen it? www.thebabystoreltd.co.uk/store/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=CO-0190

Haven't told dd's yet (5 and 4) - planning on waiting a good while yet but as I've already told most of my family i'm sure it will slip out sooner!

How is everyone feeling? Does it feel real yet?

KittyBump · 23/08/2012 20:14

teapig this is my second pregnancy and I had no symptoms with the first one for ages (i never got sick but did get awful heartburn after about 25 weeks) and everything was fine. I had to have a scan at 10 weeks as I had a tiny bit of spotting and apart from the joy of seeing the heartbeat it was just such a relief to see there was an actual baby in there iyswim! But despite going through that myself I am still worried about my lack of symptoms this time Confused I guess we can't help but worry about something.

zeebee i'm praying that this week goes quickly for you and that you get some good news xxx

nothing to report here, I did wonder about phoning my GP to arrange a booking in appointment but couldn't quite bring myself to do it. Also I haven't told anyone yet (apart from DH!). Not sure when I'll feel comfortable telling people. DH can't wait so I'm reigning him in at the moment. Anyone else under pressure to tell?

KittyBump · 23/08/2012 20:16

*reining

LikeCandy · 23/08/2012 20:32

Hi Ladies!
I can also profess to being more bloated and uncomfortable than I though possible!
My belly is taught, puffy and painful.
I've been living in shorts, not looking forward to forcing myself into skinny jeans come the bad weather this weekend...
I haven't bought anything yet, but have started a wishlist!

LikeCandy · 23/08/2012 20:33

Oops
7 + 4/5!

alwayshopeful13 · 23/08/2012 21:12

I know what you mean about pressure to tell, Kitty, though in our care pressure is all from me I must confess....I'm struggling to resist the temptation to tell people - but I know it makes sense in case anything goes wrong like last time. But the waiting is SOOO difficult.

I've managed to talk myself out of going for early scan tomorrow (I'm still on holiday so much easier than waiting until next week when I'm back at work) but it would only be 6 weeks so possible there'd be no hb but just too early, and if we wait til end of next week there's a much better chance of knowing either way how things are looking. So we're planning to go in late next week, probably Thurs when I'll be 6+6.

Good thing I am such a patient person ;-)

5+6

Teapig · 23/08/2012 21:34

Thanks always and kitty, I will try not to worry so much.

Have FIL and BIL to stay tomorrow til Monday so lots of pretending not be pg ahead.
