magictorch · 19/08/2012 20:53

Thanks Dandelion

I'm on the pessaries too, what a joy they are!!! We have a scan on our package as well, but at 8 weeks, so just over a week to go. Seems aaaaages away.

We've told quite a few people as many knew about our journey, but will wait to tell extended family and friends until 12 week scan I think.

6+6, due 8 April

angeltattoo · 19/08/2012 23:09

Great news Essex, so glad you saw a heartbeat! Grin

Told my inlaws, parents and brother thus weekend,so feels a bit more real now. Everyone was shocked and very happy!

Have had some queasiness in the mornings, bloating and lots of burping as symptoms!

Hi ladies, I have a quick question!!
I did a CB Digital last week and got my BFP. Since then I've been using up my internet cheapies every few days to see if the hormone is getting darker, and I am still getting BFNs! I don't know if I should be concerned, because CB says I'm definitely pregnant, and I feel pregnant, no AF, etc, but should I be concerned that the internet strips aren't picking up my pregnancy hormone?

Hi all - sorry long time scince last post from me.
Congrats to those with exciting scan news - such a relief I imagine/
We have our first scan this Thursday - am so so nervous and scared.
Time that I miscarried b4was at 7 week scan - where we saw an empty sac and am just so so worried about thurs - I will be 7+1 by then.
All symptoms seem to have gone - boobs normal. No sickness. Yes tired but that is due to sunshine this weekend and mood generally low.
Anyway I have a busy work week this week which is one thing I guess, will make the wait until Thursday go quicker hopefully....
Sorry to post a downer - just feeling so "normal"!

ZoeRowe · 20/08/2012 08:50

Thank you for the welcome Smile Its seem such a lovely group of ladies, i just cant belive how many of us there are, July was definalty a fun month Wink

jessiethecowgirl I have no experince of internet cheapies but if you are getting a BFP with CB then i would worry! I have always used Superdrugs own brand tests as they are meant to be really good if you wanted to try another test...

Woke up this morning feeling very worse for wear Sad Had a terrible nights sleep, woke up with a headach and feeling very sick. I didnt suffer with morning sickness with my son so hoping i dont this time as i start a new job this week and i think it will be a give away if im running to the loo every few minuets!

Just wondering when everyone got in contact with the midwife? Im only four weeks so not sure if i should wait a while...

4+1

Dysgu · 20/08/2012 09:24

jessiethecowgirl i know what you mean with regards to the internet cheapies - I have tried using mine again after getting a BFP on a clearblue digi - there are still two lines on the cheapies but the second one is very faint whereas I thought it would be really clear. I figure the digital one is the way to go - although am going to buy another digital one today just to be REALLY sure!

ZoeRowe I have not seen my doctor yet and that is the first step to seeing the midwife (going on past experience with previous pregnancies).

My doctor is on holiday so I have an appointment with her for when she gets back - so that is on September 4th! I think I will be 6+6 then.

But I also made an appointment with one of the other doctors at the health centre for this Thursday just so that he can set everything in order and add me to the list for the midwife! If I remember correctly, it takes a couple of weeks to get a booking in appointment with the midwife and, whilst I always expect them to jump up an down with excitement, the whole thing is actually very mundane and ordinary for them and they don't seem to be as over-the-moon as we are!

I need to see my own doctor so that we can discuss whether I will have consultant care or can stay with the midwife. I will argue that I should stay with the midwife and the doctor will probably refer me to the consultant; I am not sure what the consultant will say this time but last time she said I could stay with the midwife.

Both DDs turned up early (and quick!) but they have never found a reason so I am not sure what a consultant could do.

Symptoms - still hot and tired, needing to wee a lot more than usual and not sleeping. However, all of those things could easily be down to the heat. No morning sickness yet - I am a teacher so it will probably kick in as soon as I go back to school!

MumofWombat · 20/08/2012 09:30

Hi everyone!

Can I join this club too please?!

I'm due 8th April (so 7+0 today), and this is our second DC, we have a 16 month old DS. We've told our parents (my parents reaction was hilarious - Mum dropped the ipad and we got a view of the ceiling whilst hearing them both burst into happy tears) and a few friends have guessed.

I'm feeling horrid though, I feel sick constantly - only actually vomitted once so far, headachy, bone tired all the time - but not sleeping well at night, and reflux has already settled in - I'm guessing for the duration now! I feel much worse than I did with DS.

I'm very envious of you lot being pregnant over a UK winter. I'm in Perth, WA. Fingers crossed for a lack of 40+ degrees.....

Giddypants · 20/08/2012 10:28

Morning all and welcome to the new ladies.
I was working all day yesterday so so busy, but have a week off now, yay, I saw a colleague during handover she's 14 weeks now and look gorgeous!
Roll on second trimester.
magictorch hope the spotting has subsided, I had a lot of abdo discomfort over the weekend, think its just a bit of stretching try not to worry.
essex so pleased for you

Giddypants · 20/08/2012 10:29

babyjames · 20/08/2012 10:35

Have been bleeding properly since Saturday now so I'm not feeling positive. Have a scan tomorrow so will know either way then. Has been hard weekend!

Lola06 · 20/08/2012 10:54

Oh babyjames I'm so sorry to hear that, it must be so scary. Keeping everything crossed for you that tomorrow goes well. You hear stories of women bleeding throughout pregnancy and everything is fine x

SneezySnatcher · 20/08/2012 11:01

jessie maybe you got a bad batch of cheapies? If you got a positive on CB digi (which aren't very sensitive) I wouldn't worry. Last pregnancy I didn't get a positive on the digi until about five weeks, after several on FRER.

babyjames I have everything crossed for you.

I'm feeling dreadful. So very, very sick. I keep retching and feeling faint. I even feel sick going in the cupboards for food for DD. Luckily my family have been a wonderful help so MIL is cooking for DH and DD and DSIL has taken DD out a few times.

fryingpantoface · 20/08/2012 11:24

Hi everyone!

I'm 4+2 and due 27 April. I have a little boy who is one next month. Just seen my gp, who has referred me to the Midwife. Just waiting for those to get in touch.

fryingpantoface · 20/08/2012 11:27

Posted to soon

I'm massively bloated, already look massive. I'm already feeling sick. It's gonna be a really long nine months

EssexWelsh · 20/08/2012 11:28

babyjames I bled for a week and yesterday saw a little heartbeat and all looked correct size so stay positive, thinking of you, let us know how the scan goes.

7+1

Bumpincharge · 20/08/2012 11:37

Hi Ladies,
I haven't posted in a while, but had a bit of a day yesterday! I got up in the morning to go to the toilet, my tummy wasn't too happy - don't want to TMI you all - and then started to feel nauseous so I got up and flushed the toilet just in case I was sick. I didn't feel good standing so sat back down on the toilet with a thump and then went clammy and passed out!

I managed to hit the toilet, bath and radiator on the way down, so I've got lumps and bumps and bruises everywhere - including the back of my head!

My DP was downstairs making us breaky in bed and heard the thud, he called my mum and an ambulance and sat with me till they arrived. I got taken off to hospital where they checked me out and thinks it might be a combination of a warm night, a bit of dehydration and the pregnancy. I was sent home by lunch and still feel like I've had the wind knocked out of my sails!

I'm off sick from work for a couple of days now to get my breath back.

Fainting is common in pregnancy, so if you start to feel clammy and lightheaded sit down on the floor! Don't take a nosedive like I did!

I'm now 7 + 2 and I've got my scan on the 24th - can't wait Smile

BonaDea · 20/08/2012 12:10

bumpincharge - ouch, that sounds painful and quite frightening. Glad to hear you're just about in one piece!

babyjames - sorry to hear about your weekend and fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I had spotting Thursday - Sunday. Just back from my scan and all seems to be well still, with the little heartbeat thumping away. We also saw tiny limb buds. So, don't give up hope: unexplained bleeding seems to be more common than you think.

LoobyLou33 · 20/08/2012 12:22

Right, here's my attempt to update the stats...please do check and repost with any corrections though! I've done my best to put in people who joined since the last stats but it's been a while so there may be some folks missing. Also been partly guessing if this is DC1 for some people.

A few dates still going spare - any joiners ;-) ?

My thoughts are with those of you feeling anxious... magictorch any news, did you get to the EPU? babyjames and zeebee, hope your scans go well and it's positive news.

Also big symapthies to those of you with nausea or sickness. Uch. It sucks! I had all-day-long nausea last time and found it really draining. I found if I nibbled on something whenever I started feeling sick it would surpress it a bit. Not v healthy but I was eating 3 packs of crisps a day for one month! Shock It kicked in about 6 weeks, reaaaaally hoping it's not so bad this time..

5 + 4 (I think)

ZoeRowe · 20/08/2012 13:54

bold Loobylou33* I think my EED is 29th April, sorry i forgot to put it on my first post Smile

bold Babyjames Im so sorry to hear about your bleeding, try and stay possitive thou, its a horrible experince but fingers crossed everything will be fine, you hear so many possitive stories...

boldDysgu Thanks. With my DS i found out at 7 weeks and was in a diffrent area where everything was done diffrently so wanted to see what other people were doing as it seems to early to phone the doctor. Think i will wait to the end of the week and then get the ball rolling smile its all so exciting..

Today would should have been the start of my period (i tested early as i had a weird feeling that this was the month) and i have been having period pains so feleing a little nervous, i know its normaly to have period pains and even spotting but i just cant wait till the next few days are over...looks like we are in the worry stage at the moment

4+1 (i think)

edinfirst · 20/08/2012 13:54

Sending lots of good vibes to all who are worrying - it is such an anxious time and I have everything crossed for us all!

Bonadea fab that you saw the limb buds!

EPU wouldn't see me without a GP referral, but GP won't see me yet as I haven't been formally discharged from the clinic yet. I've had some more brown discharge today so I called the clinic. They said probably nothing to worry about, but to call back this afternoon to speak to a nurse. My scan is next Tuesday. They also said to do nothing, get total rest, but I'm a team of one at work with no cover so I think if I was at home I'd just be worried about baby and work!!

Fx babyjames

Re the stats. Still too scared/superstitious to add myself onto the list but please can someone take Kittycatsforever off, as she unfortunately had a MC confirmed last week Sad
