bonadea easier said than done but try not to worry. Others with more experience will be able to help more, but from what I've read on here quite a few women experience bleeding without it affecting the baby. Hope you can get through to GP soon!

Re dresses, LOVE the last one - why do I always fall for the pricey ones! Enjoyed looking through them, thanks camel (and it's not even me who's got a wedding to go to!)

CamelKnees · 16/08/2012 12:05

bonadea sorry to hear that. Do you know which midwife team would be looking after you? If you can't get hold of GP it might be worth trying to go straight to them (i had a little bleeding with DD). Also do you have an Early pregnancy unit nearby? You can self refer to lots of them if you have any sort of bleeding

have a look here

BonaDea · 16/08/2012 12:09

Thanks all.

Camel - Was actually at hospital for an early scan on Tuesday because I'm diabetic and so classified as 'high risk'. I have called and left a message asking the diabetic maternity team to get back to me, so fingers crossed they do so soon.

There is an early pregnancy unit at my local hospital, so I think if I don't hear anything soon I will go.

I might be clutching at straws, but have just seen that internal exams can cause a bit of spotting and I had a transvaginal scan on Tuesday, so I wonder (and hope and pray) if that could be to blame?

CamelKnees · 16/08/2012 12:11

Don't think that's clutching at straws it may well have caused the spotting.

I was told with DD that I should really worry if blood was bright red, flowing quickly and accompanied by pains.

Fingers crossed its nothing sinister.

zeebee1 · 16/08/2012 12:47

Hi all - thanks for the welcomes Grin feel part of your large gang now!
bondea sorry to hear about your spotting - it's probably perfectly fine - don't worry about it until you need to - that's something my DH likes to say to me regularly....hope you get to the GP today to put your mind at ease...
Dandelion75 congrats to you too! good luck with your scan tomorrow - cant wait to hear about it. We had 2 put back as well - ready and hoping for twins! How would you feel about twins?? Our scan is next Thursday and I'm on tenderhooks hoping that things will look healthy and normal FX FX.... today i've been having nausea a bit and crampy pains - seems to eat a mint impereal and the symptoms disappear... work is frantically busy today so thats one way to make the time go faster!!
i was the the very opposite of hubba hubba this morning BTW (much to DH's disappointment) oh how our hormones like to tease us, eh!
camel liked the dresses - particularly the dorothy perkins one at the top - lovely....

Scouseandproud · 16/08/2012 15:33

Holy cow at 23 pages already!

Hello to all the new upduffed ladies [wave]

BonaDea I had spotting from an exam, tis pretty normal but also very normal to worry I guess. I was thinking that an early BFP was good but now wishing I was blissfully ignorant as the worry and wait is doing my head in.

Hello to South Coast ladies! I'm from down there too, got family in Kingston, Seaford, Alfriston and Peacehaven whom I shall be visiting to share our good news soon, and hopefully get in some BBQs and a visit to drusillas too!

Pontouf · 16/08/2012 16:07

Hello everyone!

Been away a little while cos been very apprehensive about the scan today. Feel very very relieved as we saw a tiny little heartbeat thumping away - YAY!!!! Haven't stopped grinning yet! Even through the bone grinding tiredness and the all day sickness! Have been sick every day this week and felt sick for most of the day.

Toobreathless Congrats on your scan, isn't it wonderful?

Bonadea, fx for you. Spotting doesn't necessarily mean anything. I had a big bleed with my second pregnancy and the result is dancing in front of a Winnie the pooh DVD (see above re sickness, being a lazy Mum today!) very much hope the same is true for you.

Love the blue DP dress by the way, has just ordered one for my friend's wedding at the end of the month - gorgeous!

Anyway, I'm off to think about that little heartbeat a bit more Smile

SneezySnatcher · 16/08/2012 16:08

BonaDea sorry to hear about your spotting. I spotted when pregnant with DD after having sex. It doesn't make it any less worrying, but it is common.

Today I am existing on mashed potatoes and gravy. No idea why but it's the only thing I fancy. In fact, I had some for lunch and I'm considering having some as an afternoon snack too! I'm making sure I have my five a day and then eating absolutely anything else that won't make me feel more sick!!!! I'd forgotten about this stage and I am really not enjoying it (although it is reassuring to have some symptoms).

angeltattoo · 16/08/2012 16:14

Hi ladies,

Haven't caught up yet, I will do now, been away for a few days...

...had my scan today, gestational sac and yolk present, EDD now 16 th april, making my dates 6 days out!

But so so relieved, spotting also now just occasional on wiping.

Off to catch up with the thread now, it's massive! GrinGrinGrin

ratbagcatbag · 16/08/2012 16:46

Hi Sneezy, I'm like that with food, not really massively sicky feeling now, just think oh I'll have some pizza, or jacket potato, or etc etc, and then I think, erm nope, that made me a bit quesy, so I guess I won't.

I'm useless on my five a day, but I am trying, and chocolate defo doesn't make me feel quesy at all, although one big bar of green and blacks a day is definately not in any pregnancy recommended food list yet, although it's gorgeous!!

SneezySnatcher · 16/08/2012 18:10

ratbag it's just miserable isn't it? A few times I've fancied something, cooked it and then not wanted it by the time it is ready.

I think DD has picked up that something is different. She keeps asking me if I'm poorly. I'm trying really hard to behave normally, but it's hard when I feel like throwing up all of the time.

babyjames · 16/08/2012 18:17

Sorry to hear about the spotting Bona FX for you

Camel thanks so much for the dresses.:) Love the DP one but think out in my size. May try and find a shop 2mor and see if in stock.

So so tired today and had a home visit on 8th floor of a tower block ! Yawn!

babyjames · 16/08/2012 18:41

Just ordered the blue pocket dress Camel it arrives Saturday which is the day of the wedding!!! Cutting it fine!

ratbagcatbag · 16/08/2012 18:43

Ok being as I love to bore share all my news with you, I'm so pleased to say I have completed my 500 word wikipedia uni posting between MNing, see I knew you would all be so proud!!

I just need to find that little tons and frigging tons bit of motivation to start my 2500 word assignment and my final 1000 word report, all due by Tuesday!!!!

more green and blacks me thinks

Roxoroxy · 16/08/2012 18:43

Wow this thread moves at such a pace I can't possibly keep up, but still enjoying dipping in cos you are the only people I know who are thinking, obsessing, worrying and smiling about the things that are on my mind too.

Yesterday I felt nauseous, grumpy and miserable. Today I've been drinking ginger tea and feel on top of the world. I think ginger tea is on route to being my favourite thing. Smile

MrsTwinks · 16/08/2012 19:25

ok I'm outta ideas... who has good morning all day sickness cures. I feel like hell :( No throwing up yet but oh how I wish I could as then i might at least have a moments relief

CamelKnees · 16/08/2012 20:03

babyjames good work on the dress ordering. Keep us posted on how you get on. I do love a bit of a shopping sesh (even better when for someone else as is guilt free on my part Grin)

Nausea has hit like a truck today. Am sure it wasn't this early with DD. only thing that ever sorts me out is a full time. Spent 14 weeks in my last pregnancy constantly munching on mini cheddars and drinking gallons of sparkling water. It seems to be doing the trick again.....

CamelKnees · 16/08/2012 20:07

That was supposed to say full tummy not full time....

DeekeyDoo · 16/08/2012 21:30

I keep reading about everybody feeling sick. I'm starting to panic because I don't have any symptoms at all - I don't feel any different. I was already being sick by now in my other pregnancies. Paranoid now. Anyone else got no symptoms?

Lola06 · 16/08/2012 22:06

DeekeyDoo I don't really have any symptoms either. Saying that, I have booked in for an early scan next weekend just to make sure I am actually pregnant! lol

sugarfiend · 16/08/2012 22:23

I love the dress you chose babyjames

ratbagcatbag If you find any motivation please send some this way! I'm getting a bit obsessed with trying to find out about pregnancy stuff (apparently I know nothing that I thought I knew... and I hate feeling clueless) when I should be researching for my essay due in less than 3 weeks!

DeekyDoo I'm not feeling sick at all either.
My one and only symptom so far (other than the BFP Wink ) is that I am getting a some crampyness on and off - which I'm not even entirely sure is a good thing to be getting. I'm only 4+5 though - does morning sickness generally start later than this?

DeekeyDoo · 16/08/2012 22:24

lola me too :) I've booked my scan for Friday because I need to know it's real!

DeekeyDoo · 16/08/2012 22:26

sugar I think it can start that early for some but often people say it starts about 6 weeks. It did for me at least the last 2 times. I suppose we should feel lucky really :) I had some cramping early on before and just after bfp but not since.

Lola06 · 16/08/2012 22:28

Who would have thought not throwing up would have been so scary! Hope both our scans go perfectly and we just have very thoughtful little babies who don't want us to feel sick!

I'll be 8+2 next Saturday so should definitely see something by then. What about you?

bunnygirl80 · 16/08/2012 22:52

sugarfiend with DS I had no sickness until I was about 7 weeks. Spent the first few weeks worrying about no symptoms and then the next couple of months moaning that I felt sick! This time sickness started before I even did a pg test. If I was you I'd just try and enjoy feeling good at this point as you never know when it'll kick in and you'll be feeling rotten

mrstwinks I've been taking ginger tablets, which I don't think do anything. I felt vaguely better yesterday at work my keeping a bottle of water close by and having a sip every time a wave of nausea hit. I also ate a handful of sultanas every hour or so which seemed to help. When I was pg with DS I found chewing gum all day helped a lot for some reason.
