ratbagcatbag · 13/08/2012 17:07

Can someone please add me to the list, I'm technologically inept at times ad it's defeating me, also poor bodice needs removing :(

I'm due dc1 on 1st April, I do have to confess that mine is down to a certain fifty shades as well Grin

ratbagcatbag · 13/08/2012 17:08

Also has any sneaked a peak at the baby names list.......... Any of your possibles in the top 100?

BonaDea · 13/08/2012 17:12

A couple of my faves are in the top 100. A couple are annoyingly near the top (and so I won't want to have them!) and some are much lower down, or completely absent.

Not goind to start on that particular line of discussion until a bit further down the line though!

HiHowAreYou · 13/08/2012 17:16

Teapig, you're similar to me with dates. I called the doctors and they said to go to book in with a GP sometime over the next couple of weeks. Then they'd sort out when to see a midwife.

(I had completely forgotten what happened last time!)

Teapig · 13/08/2012 17:17

I just took a peak at the top 100 and a couple of my faves are in there: Harrison and Finn for a boy. I used to really like Isobel or Harper for a girl but I've been pipped at the post by one of my best friends and the Beckhams.

Like Bona trying not to get ahead of myself with the baby name thing at this stage but fun to check the list out.

HiHowAreYou · 13/08/2012 17:18

Enjoy your honeymoon Wishful, and yes, I think your friend did phrase herself a bit insensitively!

Jo1984uk · 13/08/2012 17:20

6 weeks and 6 days today.. Thought I had got away with the morning sickness but it is slowly creeping in! Anyone else feel ill just thinking about certain foods? Fish is the worst at the minute, I also craved beans on toast a lot at first but now the thought of beans makes my stomach turn!

Just wondering how you find out about the first scan, do they just send you a date/time in the post or does the midwife arrange it? My first pregnancy so don't have a clue!

Also still need to be added to the list, 2nd April please :-)

Jo

EssexWelsh · 13/08/2012 17:24

Not at all over sensitive wishful more like she has been insensitive, but I'm sure it wasn't meant to be hurtful, all sense of tact is lost in text. Wouldn't hold her against it but absolutely right to rant with us! Maybe speak to Sarah about keeping things private or just consider not telling her as much in the future?

teapig I'm sure knicker checking is a compulsive disease, we should be able to get help for!! I'm now just accepting brown blood every time I look, but just 24 hours then back to EPU to have a check around, as surely not still normal?!

Teapig · 13/08/2012 17:43

Thanks hihowareyou, I'll leave it a couple more weeks before calling GP.

Essex, I'm a fully paid up member of Knicker Checkers Annonymous. I have read quite a bit about it and there are loads of cases of people spotting through their pregnancies and everything is fine. There a lot of times when it's unsettling and nothing to worry about. Having been there though I know it's impossible not to worry though, thinking of you. Hope all goes well at the EPU and these little babies stick for us all x

JaquelineHyde · 13/08/2012 18:14

Hello ladies

Can I join please? I just got a BFP and have worked my dates out and should be due 22nd April. This will be DC4.

I am in utter shock and haven't told DH yet, we had been trying a few months ago after having my implant removed. However, after no positives we decided to put trying on hold and I accpeted an offer to start my Masters in Social Work in September which is a two year course!!

I have no idea how I am going to do this, I could defer my course start for a year. However, the NHS bursary scheme is under review for next year and I may not get any funding if I start next year but if I start this year the funding is guranteed!

So if the pg sticks I will be giving birth 2 months before my first year ends and will be in a placement which is full time and looking after the 3 we already have. Oooh it's all fun and games isn't it Grin

spidermanspiderman · 13/08/2012 19:18

Hi sorry can someone add me - can't do it on my phone sorry. Guessing at due date of 8th April.

Told dh today (gave him a birthday card from the bump!) Took him about 5 minutes to work out who the bump is and he is over the moon.

Already discussing names and talking about booking scan and addmark test. I am sssoooooo tired already and can't wait to get to the blooming stage. Dh been really good today but it's only day one for him!

Dandelion75 · 13/08/2012 19:24

Can I join you? Almost can't say it out loud but I'm 6 weeks pg and due on 8th April Shock Shock

Im 36 and never managed to get pg before, It's been a long journey, with TTC for 4 years. Finally after 2 cycles of IVF this year, we are stunned, thrilled and a little bit scared to have got this far! Smile

I have what my fertility clinic call a 'viability scan' (charming title!) on Friday. After that they hand me over to the NHS. All seems to be ok so far - although what would I know! Some stretching pains - enough to wake me up last night - and feeling a bit picky about what I can eat, but no sickness so far.

Look forward to chatting to you all! Have added myself to the list (I think).... X

Congrats to everyone I've missed! Goodness it's busy in here now isn't it

Now then, can someone please explain why I feel so bloody worried??? Am literally terrified.

What if it doesn't stick?
What if it does stick but it doesn't make it through 40 weeks?
What if it makes it through 40 weeks but is really poorly?
What if it does make it and the birth is horrendous?
What if the birth is ok but I just can't cope with 2 DC?
What if DD is super jealous and a right madam?
What if they grow up and hate each other?
Etc
Etc
Ad infinitum

I literally cannot pull self together. Keep thinking that I've been too lucky with everything so far and something is bound to go wrong.

So if someone could just bash some sense into me that would be great....!

DeekeyDoo · 13/08/2012 19:54

Hi all. Ian't keep up with all these posts! Congrats to all that I've missed.

camel I can't explain why you feel so worried, but I feel exactly the same :( It's so much worse this time for reasons I can't fathom?! I even booked an early scan for the end of next week as I need to convince myself that it's not just my body playing tricks on me!

deeky I was thinking of doing the same thing at 7 weeks. Just don't think I can wait until 12 weeks. Where are you getting it done?

I've not added myself to the list yet. Maybe next week when I'm feeling braver!

woollywomble · 13/08/2012 20:29

Hello ladies, thought I'd join you. Got BFP on Sat, with due date of around 19 April. Already have 2 dds aged 9 and 6 and really nervous about doing this all over again as wasn't really planned. I am so worried about so many things that I don't really know how to feel. I am 41 and DH is 10 years older than me, we thought we were moving on from the baby stage and have not kept any of the baby stuff. There will be a big gap between baby and the girls and worry how that will impact their lives, with regard to attention and finances. 2dc to 3dc also seems a big jump in terms of cars, holidays etc. I'm also really embarrassed at having been caught out (!) and the thought of telling people, especially our parents, just makes me come out in a cold sweat... Despite all this, I keep thinking that this was probably our last chance and keep breaking out in a big grin. I think it's a case that my head says this is totally impractical but my heart thinks it's a blessing in disguise. Aaaaagh, I'm all mixed up!!! Wishing you all well though!

MrsTwinks · 13/08/2012 20:36

saw the doctor today - I obviously looked so panicked that she double checked it was a good thing lol! She said a line is a line, I've had three and being 12 days late I needed to stop over-thinking. That had me told.

Went to see SIL after to tell her and BIL. I had a couple of odd looks yesterday at Sunday lunch (and today at a funeral) as I wasn't drinking or eating the soft cheese, and a LOVE cheese and need a drink to survive MIL. I mean I kid you not I had a running commentary in my ear all through the funeral from her today... arggghh! Anyway SIL is going to help deflect and my brother is coming to visit next week. Going to wait until 12 weeks for parents thou as I'll need the space and its my mum's birthday just before so she'll be getting a happy birthday granny card Smile

Kinda feeling a bit more real now... worked out I will be 8 weeks on my birthday which is nice!

kittykatsforever · 13/08/2012 20:46

Ahh dandelion that's such fantastic news, you must be over the moon!! Did you have just the one put back in or two? Is their a chance of twins??
Camel I am scared shitless every time and manage to find new things all the time, try to remember you really wanted this bfp and umyouve done it before, your a pro, dd with love a new playmate, ( its later when you hate each otherWink)
Mrstwinks glad you were told!! Lol

Giddypants · 13/08/2012 20:48

hihowareyou I also has a placental abrupt ion at 37+4 I was at home, no labour just spontaneous, scariest time in my life, DS was very poorly for a while, and has lasting damage, I'm so scared it will happen again, was told 20% chance it will happen again. But will be carefully monitored this time, and going for ECS at around 37 weeks
