Ok just a quick update:

I met baby! Definitely just one in there and saw the heart beating away. Even got to listen!!! So so happy :) I was right with my dates, so EDD is 5th march and I'm measuring 7 +3!

Sheldonella · 20/07/2012 10:26

posy I'm so sorry, and to the others that have had miscarriages too :( I have been there like other ladies on this thread and just want to say look after yourself, it will work out in the end.
I cracked and told my parents this morning. I was feeling so so sick and stressed because they are visiting this weekend and I didn't know how to hide it. They are very happy and I feel much better (but still sick).
I have had another tiny bit of brown discharge though, so I'm worried. I think I might have to exaggerate at the doctors a bit for a scan as I just can't go through what I went through last time.
Ooh, this thread has made me want wotsits :)

Sheldonella · 20/07/2012 10:27

Wonderful news Erik :)

sarahs999 · 20/07/2012 10:27

Congrats Eric!

Sheldonella · 20/07/2012 10:28

Ooh, all this talk of twins has got me thinking too - my gran on my mums side had two sets (both fraternal, I think), so I guess this means it's a possibility for me too. No others in the family though.
Sorry for all the random posts, I feel a bit excitable today :o

GummiberryJuice · 20/07/2012 10:43

Good news Eric

Well after what my gp said about twins dh had a mild panic and said sure there are no twins in your family, and I remembered my cousin was a twin but her brother died, so they are in my mums side eek

I need to add me to stats thread but I'm on phone will do it later

Lexiindisguise · 20/07/2012 11:03

posypoo so sorry to hear this hon, you take care of yourself x x

ThreeForTea · 20/07/2012 11:22

posy really sorry to hear that :(

I'm feeling quite worried so I have a tmi question. Last night I had sex with dh, I wasn't really gaggingly keen but has been a bit of distance between us during dd sleep antics stress, so wanted to be loving to him.

We used a.condom because I thought would reduce chance of uti for me, but it was not very comfortable. Afterwars I felt quite achey for a couple of hours and worried that I had upset cervix, was achey to point I wanted to take a paracetamol. Today cm was very slightly pink tinged, and then some seemed yellowish tinged. Could that be a sign of infection? Also scared that the aching might have been cervix opening or couldy aching after sex and tinged cm be normal? I know I am being a freak but can't get through to gp's. :(

KFFOREVER · 20/07/2012 11:38

Good morning ladies!

posy- Im very sorry to hear that. Hope you have a good support network in RL to help you through this.

Its been a crazy week on here mixture of sad news and good news. Lets hope we have lots more good news on this thread.

Congrats to those who have met their beans already.

Still feeling sick. I have to quickly make breakfast in the mornings to make me a bit better. It works but only for about half hour. I still haven't found food that I can eat properly. I couldn't eat a bowl of salad DH made for me last night. Time for some housework. Take care ladies.

Leftwingharpie · 20/07/2012 11:43

Twins is not on your mother's side - it's on your baby's mother's side! Grin

mandasand · 20/07/2012 11:53

posy I'm so, so sorry :-( what a roller-coaster of a week. damn it. I'm really sad for you. I'm glad you're already feeling more positive today. I really hope you can get through this upset quickly and will be back on another 'expecting' thread very soon. Take care of yourself. Thanks

eric so pleased your scan went well this morning Smile really, really brilliant news!

ah, yes, those darned sneezes, tiddley! I now do this automatic and slightly ridiculous hold on to my lower tummy which really helps with those ouch pains! good look with house today - fingers tightly crossed!

sounds like you had a great night, pipsicles! Smile

three I've read that sex can bring on cramping but that it cannot harm the baby. I'm totally off it at the moment (esp with this damn cramping to start with!)

feeling rough as a badger's arse today. working in reading and a mate is picking me up at 3pm for tea and cake at hers and I already know there is no way I won't be telling her. Anyway, I think she'll know by the look of me - spotty, greasy hair and generally minging!

backwardpossom · 20/07/2012 12:04

Eric great news!

posy I'm so sorry :( Take care of yourself x

I'm feeling rough, too. Started yesterday and continuing today. I'm ok while I'm eating, but as soon as I stop, bleurgh. I can't eat for the next 6 weeks constantly! At least I'm on holidays until mid August (ah the perks of being a teacher) so don't have to feel too rough at work!

JoJoBella84 · 20/07/2012 12:19

Afternoon all!
posy I'm so sorry to hear your news :( What a rough week.
mandasand I feel sex brings on my cramps - but sex is some how better in pregnancy... not sure what it is!!

I've had an eventful morning - the morning vomiting returned after a few days off, reassuring me that all is still well, however vomiting on an early stomach quite forcefully was not so good and ended up with blood streaked bile all over the bathroom :(
Cue me yelling to OH to call NHS 24 (I couldn't decide if blood in vomit was a normal part of pregnancy and wasn't taking any risks!). They were quick to reassure though and I have an emergency GP appt this afty just as a precaution - apparently I've probably torn a small part of my oesophagus.
Roll on Tuesday when I can unleash some of my crazy concerns onto the midwife :)

JoJoBella84 · 20/07/2012 12:52

kfforever I've read that eating a couple of digestivs or ginger biscuits before getting out of bed can help with the nausia, it's not something I've tried (i'm sticking with dry cheerios) but it could be worth a shot?

JoJoBella84 · 20/07/2012 12:52

Goodness me, please ignore all of my typo's I clearly have baby brain :)

KFFOREVER · 20/07/2012 13:12

jojo- thanks for the tip. Ive tried crackers and it hasn't helped. Will have to take out the digestives. Sorry about your sickness. Hope the blood is nothing serious.

JoJoBella84 · 20/07/2012 13:33

Thanks kfforever I imagine it is as they say... I've just overdone the sickness! I'm sure the GP will be just as quick to reassure me!

It's so odd how I had visions of a perfect sick free pregnancy (prior too pregnancy)... I guess that's because in my head pregnancy begins from the 12 week scan. I never imagined these first few weeks to be such a worrying time for all involved! With the risk of MC so high in the first few weeks, vomiting, tiredness, general achey backs etc. We really do put ourselves through a lot.
I have decided to believe that the more symptoms the better, it may not be true but there is something oddly reassuring about vomiting rather than just feeling nauseous!

ThreeForTea · 20/07/2012 13:51

Thanks manda I really am trying not to worry but I don't think i'll be going 'there' again for a little while, poss until the 2nd tri, poor dh!

EricNorthmansFangBanger · 20/07/2012 14:19

Sorry I've only just caught up. Didn't read before I posted. Welcome to the newbies and congrats on your bfp's.

posy - I am so so sorry to hear your sad news. Please look after yourself :( Thanks

JoJo - sorry to hear you've been so poorly!

TinkerBellaFlora · 20/07/2012 15:22

Sorry I haven't had much chance to post but just wanted to say welcome to rainbow and shimmy and any other newbies. Huge congrats!

Also, big congrats to eric (love the name btw; we're just watching the third series of True Blood on dvd at the mo; I'm def more of an Eric pre-witch incident type of gal but still wouldn't say no Wink) and sarah. Awesome that you got to meet your wee ones. We've got a scan booked for a week tomorrow and I'm counting down the days. Also got our date for the 12 wk scan and it's not until 3 Sept (boo but still exciting)!

Gutted to hear your news posy. It sounds like you're handling it all really well, especially given what it shock it is after your scan.

I've been feeling really tired this week (sort of ill but not ill enough to be entirely reassured iyswim). If I could rely on the increased size of my gut though as an indication of a healthy pregnancy then I truly would be laughing. It's massive! Admittedly I have been eating more than usual (including a massive three course meal last night ending with a huge bowl of milk choc profiteroles) but I could easily pull off six months pregnant if I fully breathe out and thrust my back forward slightly. I am wondering if my dates could be wrong, I haven't eaten that much...!

Am finding the keeping things discreet almost impossible. The size of my stomach doesn't help but I just had far too many vices for it all to go unnoticed. It was a work dinner thing last night and at one point I was openly asked (in front of everyone) if I was pregnant because I wasn't drinking and was being far more reserved than usual. I just smiled and rolled my eyes but clearly didn't get away with it. Any thoughts on how I could have dealt with the remark better? I've told a couple of people at work (on a sort of need to know basis) but a bit reluctant to 'come out' entirely given that it is still such early days. I had even followed previous advice and sipped the drink I was given at the start plus had the odd sip of wine with the meal to avoid the 'antibiotics' or other more obvious lines but I guess I didn't carry it off well enough...

Good luck with the house tiddley and to everyone else!

Chefette · 20/07/2012 16:08

Hi Tinker, maybe alcohol giving you either migraines, or irritating some tissue linings? Not too far from truth.......!

tiddleypompom · 20/07/2012 16:29

Oh posy :( so very sorry to hear your news. Hope you are being loved & looked after - take it easy & allow yourself all the time you need to recover. (((()))) So sorry to lose you - best of luck for the future x

Tink you should have knocked back a double whisky! Grin

roseandroli · 20/07/2012 18:11

So sorry posy. My heart goes out to you.

jojo I agree with you, sex is better while pregnant! (and sorry you haven't been feeling well) I don't know if it's the hormones or what. But I also get a bit of cramping afterwords. It worried me at first but now I'm thinking its my uterus saying hello.

So I broke down and had a private scan today. On the one hand, I'm reassured because there was definitely a heartbeat. But the sonographer said that it was measuring 4mm, which seems small for 6 weeks. Anyone know how big they should be at this stage?

Also, apparently I have a "bicornuate" uterus, which means my uterus is a wonky shape--sort of with a big dip in the middle. The little embryo is on the right hand side.
