Thank you so much everyone. I did actually have a mouthful of champagne tonight Blush. Still so astonished.

mandasand · 19/07/2012 22:30

big woop for your wonderful scan sarah! what great news to cheer us all up [smiile]

glad you got your appt lexi! sorry about the medical history. hope it's nothing that will impact on you now, apart from a bit of extra anxiety ? my mum once told me (whilst drunk and I've never asked her about it) that she had a ton of MCs before and after me. If all goes well with this pregnancy that's something I think I'll be able to ask her about now.

thanks ethelred - nice to have a name for the cramps! I will go away now and google it sorry to hear you're suffering with cramps too rose, rainbow and gummi but it's very reassuring for me to hear! I was so bad earlier that I just went to bed and burst into tears when DH got in. I had a really bad headache too. Still feeling rotten, but much better after nice Chinese takeaway and episode of Hotel Inspector!

tiddleypompom · 20/07/2012 06:30

Morning troops!
jojo almost 9 weeks, golly that seems sooo far along :o Your scan will give you a reasonably accurate date - till then you never know, you might be having the first march baby earlier in feb!
lexi sorry the history has given rise to anxiety. My DM mc before me also and then there is the rumour of twins. You have to keep any unhappy endings in context of the times - medicine and obstetrics have moved on so much.
manda round ligament pain is a good sign! Warning - sometimes an unexpected sneeze will really hurt your abdomen...
Watch this space for house news today.
Happy days all :)

Congratulations Sarah! That's fantastic news!

Fingers crossed for you today Tiddley!

I went out on my works end of term do last night...I planned to leave about 10pm and didn't get home until gone midnight! Blush I had a great time and had a couple of male members of staff I am fond of flirting with me, which was rather entertaining and very flattering. After nearly 11 years with my DH, I think a healthy bit of flirting and 'window shopping' with the opposite sex does no harm at all! DH got laid anyway (not a common occurrence these days!), so he doesn't mind at all! Wink

Paying the price for all my frivolity last night though with a DS who kindly woke at 5:20 (again! What is is all about?!) I think I may have to nap when he does after lunch!

shimmy0 · 20/07/2012 08:14

I'm not sure where the stats thread has gone. I'm wondering if I have a "due date twin" on here I'm due 15th of March, and this is our first baby :-)

shimmy0 · 20/07/2012 08:16

Ok just seen the link to the stats lol

EricNorthmansFangBanger · 20/07/2012 08:20

My early scan is in 40 minutes. Really nervous.

tiddleypompom · 20/07/2012 08:29

Hi shimmy - welcome on board!

Lexiindisguise · 20/07/2012 08:33

Good luck Eric! :-) and good luck tiddley with the house!

We also have family history of twins on both sides - eek! Don't know what I would do if it turns out to be twins (make DH have the snip, I suspect! Wink)

shimmy0 · 20/07/2012 08:37

We have history of non identical twins on my dads side but I don't think that counts in my chances. I would love to have twins purely because they get raised at the same time. Not too keen on dressing them the same everyday though as some parents do.

shimmy0 · 20/07/2012 08:38

Thanks tiddlypompom

posypoo · 20/07/2012 09:17

Hello everyone, and hi rainbow. I can't imagine what you must have been through with your last baby. You poor thing. Fingers crossed for a happy healthy baby this time.

Manda I wasn't given a date to see the consultant but I wasn't expecting it to be until later on as that is when my bp started to creep up. Pregnancy hypertension is very common (my normal midwife just sort of laughed and said 'join the club') but they worry about it because of pre-eclampsia of course (which mine wasn't). In the end I was just put on anti-hypertension tablets and monitored a bit more and it was quite straightforward. Oh and in my first pregnancy I had period-like cramps for ages - unless there is bleeding I wouldn't worry (hard not to I know!)

Sarah massive congrats from me too - woo!

Leftwingharpie · 20/07/2012 09:20

Shimmy I think that does count in your chances! The gene for non identical twins passes down the mother's side - i.e. you. If you have twins in your family, you may have twins. My dad is a twin, but they are identical.

Leftwingharpie · 20/07/2012 09:21

Eric hope the scan is going well!

Chefette · 20/07/2012 09:21

Morning campers! Just a thought for those who are having to wait so long for scans; don't know what it is like in your necks of the woods, but at my midwife led maternity unit, I was offered a "dating scan" because we couldn't figure out when last period was, or if I had just not remembered (had been super busy and travelling for work). They suggested it as i could have been 10 or 11 weeks, and wanted to be sure they weren't going to miss test windows. Might help to ask for this by having some "uncertainty" around your dates? Good luck all Bear

posypoo · 20/07/2012 09:27

Well, depsite my first post catching up, all is unfortunately not well here - it looks like I had a miscarriage yesterday :(

Big shock after my OK scan on Monday but then I have been having bleeding all week so something clearly wasn't right.

I'm OK - I was pretty devastated last night, partly as it was quite a shock, and it was late at night, and I was on my own in A&E when I had it confirmed (I just needed to know that that was definitely what it was). But I feel more positive today, and at least it was quick and (randomly) painless.

Hope everyone is well - I will keep an eye on the thread from time to time to see how you're getting on!
xx

shimmy0 · 20/07/2012 09:29

Ah I was convinced it would have to pass to me from my mothers side and not my dads??? Whoop whoop!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 20/07/2012 09:41

Oh posypoo so sorry to hear that and hope you are doing ok. Sad

Carikube · 20/07/2012 09:44

posy so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you and all those who have had to leave the thread. I hope you're taking it easy today and that you've got some RL support.

Carikube · 20/07/2012 09:48

Welcome to all the newbies and hope you're having an ok time of it so far.

Chefette I was telling DH that when I finally get round to having my GP appt next week (which is only to get referred to MW so should be quite quick) I'm going to possibly slightly exaggerate the bleeding and the left hand side cramping to see if that means I can get an early scan. I've never had an early one before but the last 2 times I didn't really have anything to worry me. I'm still doing internet cheapie tests and am not convinced that the lines are getting any darker so I have a bit of a bad feeling and would rather not wait too much longer to find out either way.

GummiberryJuice · 20/07/2012 10:03

Hi all

posy Sad can't believe it after your scan really hope you are ok and get plenty of rest over weekend Thanks

Tiddley fx for house news

well girls I definitely think the tea is my trigger I was fine until I had a couple of sips not my tumy feels bleugh

Oh and I told my mum yesterday, she reacted abit strange to the news then rang me back to say she didn't think she had congratulated me, think she caught herself on, but anyway my parents are a whole other thread!

But tonight we will tell dhs family so we are excited!

kurlyvoice · 20/07/2012 10:14

Oh posy, poor you. So sorry that you were on your own to hear it as well, that must have been so hard. Hoping that you are ok and that we see you back on antenatal threads soon.

I heard from one of my NCT mummy friends that she had a miscarriage last week at 10 weeks. I had an inkling that she was going to be trying around the same time as us and she seemed so stoical in her message, but I just cried. Losing so many people on here and then a friend on the outside just makes early pg so scary. You are all so brave.

Welcome to anyone I haven't yet greeted. rainbow, I'm so sorry about your little girl. Two of my closest friends lost their baby girls last year (one at 22 weeks, one at 1 day old) and it was hard enough for me as a friend to come to terms with it, so can only imagine the pain you have felt. FWIW, one now has a 6 month old DD and the other is due in a few months with a DD.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Smile

sarahs999 · 20/07/2012 10:19

posy so sorry. You sound like you're taking it very well - be kind to yourself though.

I just updated the stats thread and all you sods are much too young. Grin
