tiddly I get similar pains. Definitely if I sneeze and sometimes if I get up too quickly! Had horrible pains this mornin when I went to empty my bladder, my entire abdominal area was on fire. I'm going with trapped wind on that one! It's eased off now :) the things we put ourselves through... Please let me be having twins, I'm not relishing the idea of two pregnancies!!

tedmundo · 06/08/2012 09:03

manda .. It has taken me days to catch up on this thread and have just realised you are having twins. I am so pleased for you! How very, very special and exciting.

I have a scan today at 11.40 and actually I am praying there is a singleton in there. It took us long enough to decide to go from 2 to 3, if it was a jump from 2 to 4 I think you would have to be picking me up from the floor.

DH got up and ready for work today without disturbing any of us. Boys slept until 8.45. I feel so much better for a decent nights sleep. Off to eat breakfast to keep the sickness at bay.

Have a good Monday ladies. X

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/08/2012 09:04

Hi, right had a quick scan through what I've missed!

Hope those of you having scans today have a wonderful experience!

threefortea I am the same with coffee; I don't drink loads, only a couple of cups a day, but if I don't have a cup in the morning, I get a bad headacheBlush.

I wouldn't worry too much about the odd pain here and there unless it becomes persistent. However, if it is really bad, I'd ring your MW or GP. Always best to get checked if you are worried.

Loving the Olympics!

DD also jumping all over me, but what can you do? We haven't told her anything yet in case there is bad news, but fingers crossed she'll be able to know some time in Sept!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/08/2012 09:06

Oh and hi to child I think we might have a similar due date?

Sheldonella · 06/08/2012 09:15

Morning ladies. My sickness is finally starting to subside. I still feel it after meals but not so much in the morning and definitely not all day. I'm almost 9 weeks now so maybe it is just the week off I've heard about but whatever it is, I'm grateful! Also been watching the olympics all weekend, can't believe how many medals we have, so amazing. Finally have my hospital letter too - scan 30th August.
I too am interested to know if there is any good alcohol free wine. I have tried a few and find them all too sweet. There is a nice cider in Waitrose though - quite convincing.
I think I've missed something - what is floradix?
ted Good luck with the scan this morning!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/08/2012 09:19

There is apparently a very good alcohol free rose wine. Will try to find out the name.

MrsRigby · 06/08/2012 09:25

Morning

7 weeks exactly today and according to the app on my phone the baby is the size of a blueberry.

Don't feel pregnant and still no pregnancy symptoms.

I had to do another pregnancy test yesterday so I could see the word PREGNANT pop up. Can't wait to be in the second trimester and have my scan.

How is everyone else this morning?

Lexiindisguise · 06/08/2012 09:43

Aww Ethelred I hope you feel less exhausted soon! I'm also tired, taking pregnacare, wonder if I could take Floradix with it?
Now past 10 weeks and a quarter of the way there - nausea is much milder so back eating fruit & veggies, not just crisps! Still can't stomach coffee - even the smell makes me want to heave! Hope everyone is having a good Monday, good luck for the scans this week Grin

JoJoBella84 · 06/08/2012 09:43

I was too eager to brag about my MS vanishing!! After a 4 day break from the nausea I vomited for what seemed like an hour this morning on a sip of tea and a quarter of a digestive biscuit!! Pleasant! I'm hoping it's just the baby giving me a friendly wave and reminding me she's still warm and toasty and that my abs clearly needed a workout! Pppft cheeky bambino!

zoeymlucas · 06/08/2012 09:58

Tiddly I get those pains and was told its just ligaments stretching and is perfectly normal. Mine tend to be if I get up to fast or try and do something a bit faster, it sort of takes your breath away and I tend to stop for a min or so and its all fine :)
I too am defo only hoping for one little bean as I couldnt carry 2 and have already been told that by my consultant :)

MrsRigby · 06/08/2012 10:32

I want twins!

tiddleypompom · 06/08/2012 10:46

Good luck today ted! I am with you on the 'hoping for a singleton' I'm afraid - three under two might be the end of me! I would have loved them for my first pregnancy though and am so happy for manda. Hope mrsrigby can keep her company... :)

sheldon so glad the nausea is lifting - hope this is a sign of things to come for us all. I am not sure this pregnancy is quite like last time - I seem to have been denied the lovely hair & skin this time around, dammit.

My back is playing up at the moment. Not sure if preg related or just a result of moving house plus lugging wriggly baby all day. Either way it is not fun at all.

Glad the floradix has been a success - it saved me last time around as my iron levels dropped considerably & I was offered tablet which made me v constipated. I stopped taking pregnacare and just took floradix plus folic acid, the latter in tablet form.

My scan is a week on Thurs. and it can't come soon enough...

Rrrrrraaaaaaarh moment coming up!
Just called the healthy start team to find out which box I tick in order to get some vouchers as I don't get things like tax allowance or income support.
"students aren't entitled to vouchers" oh right because living on a budget of £15 per week is going to give me the healthiest diet! Guess I'll have to reap the benefits of my pregnacare vitamins now whilst I can still afford them because come September I'm not going to have the spare cash for such a luxury. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/08/2012 11:19

I'm off to get some floradix today! I need something to sort me out! Like tiddley, the thought of twins terrifies me (and DH!) but thrilled for you manda with yours! we know four couples with twins, all under 2, so am hoping they will have taken our potential share [clutching at straws emoticonGrin]!

Good old mary poppins is saving the day for me! who needs a real nanny?Wink

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/08/2012 11:20

Jojo that's ridiculous. Surely you're just the sort of person who should qualify?!?!Angry can you speak to someone else about it?

JoJoBella84 · 06/08/2012 11:25

ethel I'm going to speak to the finance dept at the Uni when I go back. I have no problem giving up a social life in order to eat properly but based on my budget I'll have to choose between clothes and food, it won't be long before I need maternity stuff!
Fruit and veg aren't exactly cheap and they don't last either!!

HermioneBoo · 06/08/2012 11:28

Oh my, the nausea this morning is baaad! Very glad I've got the day off today, I haven't actually been sick so far so feel a bit of a fraud complaining. Just sometimes think it might make me feel a bit better if I was sick?
Going to meet my MW in a couple of hours, trying to force some water down so I can take a pee sample with me!

pinkpeony4 · 06/08/2012 11:36

Zoey - Floradix is amazing isn't it? I can't believe I am on pregnancy 4 before finding it. You should be told about it when you first see your GP! Ethelred you need to try it! I am taking Floradix, 50mg Vit B6 & Folic acid.

tedmundo - Good luck for your scan. I was exactly the same and desperately only wanted there to be 1 in there. 5 children would have tipped me over the edge!

threefortea I also have to have a cup of coffee in the morning or I feel terrible.

Mrs Rigby Lucky you still feeling well. I was like that with ds1 & ds3 and it was amazing although hard to believe I was pregnant! I did loads of pregnancy tests with both of them!

Hermione I hope the sickness eases soon and that you have a good midwife apt.

Tiddley I am also looking pretty pregnant and am only 10 weeks. Definite bump shape which I don't remember happening at this stage before. Wearing my loosest clothes and am sure everyone will have guessed!

Well I am feeling good again today and so making the most of it. Done even more sorting out and endless mountains of washing. Worrying about how much there will be with 6 of us in the house! Weather looks great so going to take my boys out for some fresh air and exercise to tire them out!

I hope everyone has a good day

KFFOREVER · 06/08/2012 11:54

I can't believe I lost my post.grrrr. Anyway Good morning all. (Its before noon so its morning still for me.lol.)

Just wanted to say good luck ted on your scan. Seems like we are EDD buddies.

Feeling a bit better today. Of course it has to be when DH is off work so I actually had someone to look after me if I needed it.

Have a good day all. x

mandasand · 06/08/2012 11:57

Cor, Floradix seems to be the way forward! May have to investigate!

Thanks tedmundo and good luck for the scan! Hoping that those who want twins also get them and those who want a singleton get what they want too! I'd love another multiple pregnancy on the thread to keep me company (tho there's a very nice 'expect ting twins' thread that I'm on too).

JoJo, I do feel for you. If you lived closer I'd insist you come over for a wholesome veggie feast at least once per week! Keep up with the pregnancy vitamins. Scour eBay and charity shops for maternity clothes. My Dorothy Perkins had maternity jeans for around a tenner in the sale - and you can always sell them on in due course.

Midwife said I'd need to see a consultant because of previous uterine rupture 15 years ago (following termination) and thyroid problems in the past (but which are now fine) and I got my appointment through today. Not entirely happy that it's for the High Risk Obstetrics Clinic. With twins on top of that the chance of a natural delivery in the MWLU is remote? Ah well, see what the consultant has to say about it all. I think they need to get my surgery notes from all those years ago as that's the crucial thing. Twins themselves can be fine. My thyroid is fine. So I guess they just need to be sure my uterus is up to the job of a big pregnancy.

My belly is MASSIVE this morning! Got a big meeting with bossman and some BBC peeps tomorrow and instead of preparing for it or writing my damn book I'm turfing things out of my wardrobe trying to find stuff that might fit! I'm ten weeks but swear I look four months?

OMG lexi, 10 weeks is ¼! And more for me as they expect me to deliver early, like most multiples!

Hope those who are still feeling rotten get some relief this week...

zoeymlucas · 06/08/2012 12:22

I am 9 weeks tomorrow and thats more than 1/4 for me as previous children have been 28 weeks and 33 weeks so even my plan of 36 weeks is a little bit on the long side to be fair but I am going to keep aiming regardless as all I want is to have my baby and bring it home with me not weeks in special care :(
C-section is looking more like my only choice which sucks esp this early but my hips are not overly happy with it all but i am going to try.

Jojo thats awful and shows how wrong the systems are these days, I hope finance can help you if not would you qualify for a mat grant (think its £500.00) or ring the benifits helpline or citizen advice maybe if you dont want to wait!

Em2010 · 06/08/2012 12:48

Afternoon All,

Good luck for the scan later ted! I was a bit worried about twins but when the sonographer said there was only one in there I felt a bit disappointed. Some of my friends have twins. It's lovely now they are aged two and can play together. Very cute to watch. ethelred you should be warned that York has one of the highest rates of twin/multiple pregnancies in the country Wink

jojo that seems very unfair. Hope you can get something sorted out.
kff glad you're feeling better.
Manda hope you can find a suitable outfit. These inbetween stages are really hard to dress for!!

Am eagerly awaiting reports on drinkable alcohol free wine. I've still got to get through two weddings, Christmas and my 30th birthday before this little one arrives and I can have a drink to celebrate the above!

Everything is fine at work this morning. My boss has been lovely. I hope she is ok. In the meantime, my bf is also right in the middle of an ivf cycle. She asked my outright (via text) if I was pregnant this weekend and I lied and said 'no'. Blush I hate lying to her, but now is not the time to say anything.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

sarahs999 · 06/08/2012 13:11

Hello all. Scan tomorrow for 9 weeks. SLightly freaking out but trying not to.Have had so many of these where it's been bad news that I can't actually imagine getting good news! But trying to hold on to the thought that all was good at the six week scan, so PMA.

Hugs to those with sickness. Mine's a bit better today - been getting better sleep as I've moved into the spare room to avoid traffic and DH snoring noise!

pipsicles · 06/08/2012 13:16

Afternoon all!

Not sure if I can remember everything I wanted to say, but here goes...!

flowery we are scan date buddies, along with someone else (is it you ted?) seems like a lifetime away, but at least it's less than a month now! Mine will be quite late, I think i'll be 13+3 by then. I'm guessing they've sent the time based on my previous early scan, which dated me at 5wks when I was 6+4, although my LMP puts me even further along! It's a bit stupid really, but I'm hoping it will be okay.

I too am looking rather huge, esp by the end of the day. I have found that all my organs appear to have shifted straight up as the top of my bump is quite firm, like a 'real' pg belly, but the bottom is still wobbly! I've just popped in to see my friend and her 8wk old and she was amazed at how pg my belly feels. DH is another who loves to comment and rub affectionately, but I don't mind. He loves to see me pg and always looks at me (or my belly) with love and pride hoping that will help me eventually get my DC3!!!

I think I may have to jump on the Floradix bandwagon too - would love to feel less sick and tired! I've had it in the past and do find it a bit metallic-y, but hoping it will be bearable. When I had my mc in April, I couldn't get to a holland and barrett, so ended up with some iron water from boots. They come in individual sachets and you mix them with juice and are the most bare-able form of iron I've had - I'll get the name when I'm home if anyone's interested.

Also awaiting an update on the alcohol free wine here too! Plus, any advice as to where I'm supposed to find alcohol free versions of anything?! I've traipsed and down the alcohol aisles in our tesco extra to no avail. Pregnancy blindness, or do they keep them somewhere ele?!

I'm having all sorts of twinges, stretching, sudden pains etc. it appears to be a common thing. I actually find it quite reassuring rather than worrying, although my sneeze at 3am the other night did catch me a bit by surprise!

Still nausea central here, but again, reassuring! Beginning to tolerate 'normal' things, but still loving stodge and crisps! I've just remembered that there is half a bag of potato smiles in our freezer...I think I my have to put the oven on when I get home! Grin

sundaesundae · 06/08/2012 13:24

Asda sell the Kopperberg, alcohol free red and white and mocktails, might have to pop in for some woowoo mocktail!
