Just for the sake of clarity - ds is properly weaned- he does eat proper food. I just buy the Ella's kitchen fruit pouches as a snack for him to eat on the way home from nursery because anything else goes all over the back of the car!!

GummiberryJuice · 05/08/2012 14:10

Sunnymeadows I knew it wasn't your boob Grin I feel bad I'm practically wishing the holidays over so I can get my scan and the poor dcs haven't got to do much between the weather, the puppies being born and now I feel crap everyday!
8 weeks tomorrow I only started being sick with dd1 at 8 weeks so maybe it will go away this time [hopeful]

shieldbug · 05/08/2012 15:55

Em2010 and kurly I too have a toddler using the bump as a cushion/ springboard/ for head butting practice! I reckon it's all pretty well cushioned, but if it hurts, I warn him off. Dh was even using me as a pillow this pm for an afternoon snooze. Poor shieldbug-bottom of the pecking order!

sunny If you are at all worried, call the mw; last pg I called about all sorts of random things and they really didn't mind. It's hard when it's your first and you don't know what to expect.

Sorry to hear lots of people are still miserable and feeling/being sick. Sympathies and I do hope it goes away soon. I feel guilty for feeling fab. All those lovely hormones are giving me a natural high Grin. Don't worry, you'll all be revenged because if it's anything like last time, I'll have an utterly miserable last few months!

MrsR so pleased to hear your hcg levels have gone up. Sounds positive-let's hope for more of the same.

I hope you have all been enjoying the olympics. Ds (21 months) did a brilliant impression of me watching the rowing- hands half-covering eyes, shouting "Go! GO!" then squealing like a banshee when they won or got a medal. Obviously he's seen too much of this over the past few days.

HaitchJay · 05/08/2012 16:13

We are watching lots of Olympics. Dd3 rides her rocking horse for equestrian events and runs & jumps for gymnastics/track & field.

JoJoBella84 · 05/08/2012 16:26

Does anyone know when the mixed doubles final starts today?

Chefette · 05/08/2012 16:30

Snivelling and wet eyed at the telly, so pleased at the superb tennis Andy Murray performed Grin

Chefette · 05/08/2012 16:43

Sue barker just said they would be back out on court in 30 - 40 mins for doubles need a lie down before then, can't cope with the excitement!!!!!!!

shieldbug · 05/08/2012 16:45

Yay for Andy Murray- I'm busy typing this endless PhD so missed it. Fx for the mixed doubles.

JoJoBella84 · 05/08/2012 16:45

I know how you feel chefette no tears here but immensely proud of what he has achieved!!

pinkpeony4 · 05/08/2012 17:48

Hi everyone

I hope you have all had good/sickness free weekends!

MrsR - Great about your HCG levels. I hope you get more good news this week.

Tedmundo - lots of luck for your scan tomorrow.

Threefortea - Enjoy the rest. Your dd will love spending time with her grandparents so I hope you have managed to have a relaxing weekend and that you feel better for it.

Sunnymeadows - it is probably just ligaments stretching. I get it now and then and it can take your breath away. I often get it if I get up too quickly. I hope you are feeling ok. Boob pain can come and go I think, sometimes mine feel more tender than usual and sometimes Ok.

Manda - that is so lovely about how happy your friends were. I hope you are still feeling Ok with two beanies.

JoJo - very jealous of you being 13 weeks! Hope your scan goes well.

I am also always being jabbed/jumped on - it was the same the last two times too and they were Ok. I am being very protective of my tummy though and try to soften the blow where possible!

Well thanks very much for the Floradix tip. Yesterday was a really good day. I had energy and no sickness! I had a massive sort out which I have been meaning to do for ages which felt great. Today I am more tired but think I did too much yesterday and went to bed too late. Not feeling that sick though which is excellent. Although, I also really worry that this could also be a bad sign - grrr!!!

10+1 now and terrified that something bad will happen. I kind of think that I have been so lucky up until now that it's "my turn" for something bad to happen. I know deep down that it's irrational but that still doesn't make things better. Stupidly been reading about MMC as well which doesn't help. Think it's going to be a long 2 weeks until my scan!

Hope everyone else is Ok

kurlyvoice · 05/08/2012 17:53

Well thanks ladies, I'm glad it's not just my little monkey! I am warning him off if he's too rough but it's really just a formality - he doesn't quite understand yet...

These hormones + Olympic medals (especially Murray's) are making for a very teary time. Embarrassing as I'm not in my own house but at least we have told the in-laws about the bean so they're being very understanding.

I too get sharp, take-your-breath-away abdomen cramps and went to A&E the first time because it was coupled with shoulder pain and could have signified an ectopic. They were lovely and said that I could come back if the pain happened again but to try not to worry if there wasn't bleeding. Made me feel better to get checked out though, even though it was too early to see any more than a yolk sac.

Anyway, bring on a second gold for Murray - they've started the right way! Grin

HermioneBoo · 05/08/2012 18:10

sunnymeadows could the sharp pain be a bit of trapped air? I often wake up with a sharp pain that just disappears in the morning, I always have the pain near jellybean, I also get it if I get up too quickly which I reckon may be ligaments stretching.
I now have a full blown cold and feeling miserable Sad I have a really important career changing opportunity starting on Tuesday so hoping that my immune system kicks in just enough to get rid of it soon without affecting jellybean. MS and a cold is not much fun!

Em2010 · 05/08/2012 19:13

still sick here and I need my energy back!!

sunnymeadows I often get quite sharp pains in both sides. I had it this morning in my left side but as I've had a scan that clearly showed bean was growing in the right place, I think it's ligament pain. Always give your midwife a call if youre worried, reassurance is good!

hermione sorry to hear about your cold. Hope you're feeling better soon. Good luck for Tuesday.

Off to bid on maternity clothes on eBay. Need something to distract me from worrying about facing my boss tomorrow Confused

JoJoBella84 · 05/08/2012 19:57

Ooooh ladies, for those who like cider. I have it on good authority that koppaberg alcohol free cider tastes nice and like real cider!! I'll be checking this out this week as the Becks Blue I've been drinking makes me headachy!!

sundaesundae · 05/08/2012 20:20

Please do let us know about the Kopperberg, sounds fab!

Are you guys taking the liquid or tablet form of floradix, if the liquid how grim tasting is it?

Sunnymeadows · 05/08/2012 20:50

Thanks all for your advice, love our thread. So nice to be able to talk to other people. X

Cider is my favourite, let us know what its like. I've got some alcohol free wine for a party, expecting to taste like shloer.

sundaesundae · 05/08/2012 20:58

Do they still make that non-alcoholic eisberg stuff? Used to love that!

JoJoBella84 · 05/08/2012 20:59

Ooooh let me know the verdict on the wine, I've never tried schloer love a good glass of wine :)

Lexiindisguise · 05/08/2012 21:05

I like the Koppaberg 0% alcohol - with ice, it's hard to tell the difference. Never found an alcohol free wine that is any good so do let us know if you find a nice one Smile

JoJoBella84 · 05/08/2012 21:10

lexi this makes me happy :) I love cider - especially the pear stuff! Mmm I'm going to have to buy some tomorrow :)

tiddleypompom · 05/08/2012 22:19

sundae the floradix isn't too grim at all, and worth it!

Just watched the 100m final and now to bed - enough stomach muscle envy inducing moments today already! Even my mum asked whether I was sure I was only 10 weeks! Gutted!

Good luck with work tomorrow peeps, and get well soon hermione - in time to kick ass on Tues :o

sunny by the way I also get proper breath-taking pains in my side/abdomen, especially if I sneeze. They don't last but boy do they smart. Try not to worry.

I snuck in a two hour nap this afternoon. It was bliss... :)

Sweet dreams all.

Hey, welcome to the gang Child! Lovely to have another from the Just Shagging thread on here! I had minimal symptoms for first few couple of weeks (slight nausea, sore boobs, cramping) so went for a private scan and all was peachy. So please don't worry - some of us just have it easier than others.

My hormones are definitely heightened, though: had a mini-strop in a shop today when the manager wouldn't sell my DH a pair of Converse at the price advertised on the shelf. It was only £3 difference, but I was convinced we were in the right legally.

Three, sounds like you did the right thing with DD. She'll have a lovely time and you can rest - you need it. Look after yourself.

Village carnival sounds fab, tiddley!

Sunny I get a lot of sharp pains when moving around / stretching in bed - always lower abdomen, either side. Think it's just growing muscles or something. Don't worry - I'm sure it's just usual aches and pains. I'm sleeping in a comfy simple and stretchy bra and it's really helped with boob-soreness.

pink, try not to worry about MC. When I went for my scan at 8 weeks the doc said that once you're past the 8-week milestone the chances drop from 20% to 2% (if you're over 35, as I am). So, already, you're in a good place. And 12 weeks will come soon enough!

hermione sorry for cold but hurray for Tuesday work opportunity! sounds exciting!

thanks for the cider tip, jojo! cider's my drink of choice so this makes me v. happy.

lovely weekend with the friends + their kids. had more energy today and we went into town for a shop and then lazed about on sofas with 'lympics. lovely. house now nearly back to normal so a bit of late night telly. night all Smile

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/08/2012 08:43

Hi all

Not caught up on the thread yet, so hope you are all ok. OH MY GOD, I am so tired! I was never as bad as this with DD. And still nauseous. Feel so grim. DD was up at 6.40 this morning when DH left for work. So read a couple of stories and now hot peppa pig DVDs on whilst I try to get with it. Thank god I'm not at work today.

zoeymlucas · 06/08/2012 08:45

Cant beleive this is my 3rd DC and I have never used floradix before - where has everyone been hiding this secret?? I started taking it Sat and yesterday I managed to clean out my car, cook a roast, make homemade banoffee pie and sort DS2 room out - as well as having DS1 ill and throwing up so looking after him! Have even woke up this morning feeling human and like an actual person not a hormonal pregnant mess and am in the office an hour early!!!!
Ordered 3 maternity bras last week and there still not here so feel like my boobs are melons being squeezed into a egg cup right now!

Got MW again tomorrow for a check up - hoping this weekly stuff will stop after I see my consultant Thursday and get to see baby bean and get my operation booked in.

Dont worry tiddly about feeling bigger I feel I look about 16 weeks - even hubby comments about my baby belly and rubs it and I am 9 weeks tomorrow!
