Vix I'm really sorry to see your posts today :(

JoJo I have no idea, but I was just wondering whether putting some sugar or honey in the water you are drinking might help give you some energy? I have absolutely no idea what's am talking about, so please no-one shoot me if I'm spouting rubbish, but it seems to make sense to me. Hope you feel better soon and that the mw can help tomorrow, but it might be wise to book an em drs appt too - I don't think mws can prescribe if they think you need anything?

Tiddley I've been gone about a week and haven't managed to catch up, but I am SO pleased to hear you have finally moved! Congratulations! Your new home (minus boxes, decorations and endless urgent jobs!) sounds idyllic! I hope things come together for you soon.

Off out on a 'date' with an old girlfriend tonight! Yay!

HermioneBoo · 30/07/2012 19:43

Has anyone else seen the Lucozade Revive bottles? There's a ginger flavour one and it has B vits in it, not sure whether it was coincidence but I felt quite a bit better after drinking some. jojo I'd contact your GP, my friend had the same and had to have two weeks off work, dr gave her anti emetics and she said they helped loads

JoJoBella84 · 30/07/2012 20:19

Thanks ladies, I'll see how I feel tomorrow. This is the first time I've been so physically ill and I had no symptoms at all yesterday so might just be payback. Having a bottle of lucozade and some plain digestives for now (I'm going off the ginger biccies)!!

IBlameThePenguins · 30/07/2012 20:47

Hi ladies,

Mind if I join you? I just found out I'm expecting dc2! Eeeeek! We get married 4 weeks today, so this is a really lovely early wedding present!

Look forward to 'meeting' everyone properly!

mandasand · 30/07/2012 21:36

Evening all.

VixJane I'm really sorry to hear about the bleeding and the low HCG reading. What happens now? Will they send you for a scan? The rest over the weekend will have done you and your body some good though I know it's going to take a while for you to work through this. So many people seem to have gone on from MC and MMC to have perfectly fine pregnancies. I hope you can take heart from that Thanks

MrsRigby, try not to worry too much till you have some concrete tests to go on, although I know it must be really hard having already experienced a MMC. I was feeling the same as you: my symptoms fell off and I just didn't feel pregnant, but then we had the scan and the good news. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything is okay for you.

Cor lots of news to catch up on today. I've been a bit anti-social and been working on my book all day (well, minus 3-hour lunch + buying new underwear in larger sizes!) Hoping to do another couple of hours before bed as it's been going so well today, thank goodness! (This is day one of my last five weeks, so it bodes well.) Thanks for the good luck, Tiddley Smile I am really horribly distracted at the moment and keep freaking myself out by looking at google images of women carrying multiple pregnancies. If nothing else that keeps me writing because I know in just a couple of months I won't actually be able to reach the desk for all that bump! Congrats on getting through the move and the new and gorgeous-sounding house! I know it'll be box-chaos for a while yet but it sounds such a peaceful and positive environment that you'll be relaxing in no time once you're sorted.

Hope your writing is going well too, shieldbug! Like the pattern between your research and your own reproductivity, hehe!

Welcome to our lovely new newbies Pink and Penguins! Nice to have you on board!

Sounds like you are in a really good place after your Sunday, JoJo - fantastic, but not so good about the not eating. Get the MW's advice tomorrow. Oh and I'm loving your pernickety yoghurt thing Smile Sounds like your break at PILs has done you the world of good, Flowery!

Thanks for the triathlon info Hermione! I think I might have looked at one of the shorter, 'fun' (!) ones with a friend last summer but because I can cycle quite a bit (furthest in one day was 120 miles ? but I only did that once! 60 used to be my average a couple of years ago and can still do 30 easily) and jog about 6 miles no trouble and further if I have to, the fact I'm such a crap swimmer means that my try skills set is completely unbalanced! How much exercise are you doing at the mo for the training? I've stopped jogging, as I felt weird last time I was out, but might try that fast walking with hand weights thing. Took one look at myself in M&S changing room mirror today, mentally added four foot girth of twin-baby belly, and really freaked out!

backwardpossom · 30/07/2012 22:33

manda I did a beginners triathlon a wee while ago and it was great fun! The cycling was my worst bit, but I've always been a strong swimmer and I love running. I haven't carried on running in this pregnancy - I kind of wrapped myself in cotton wool as soon as I got my BFP this time after the m/c last time round.

mandasand · 30/07/2012 22:40

Ha, we'd be great in a team triathlon, possum! I could do the cycling and you the swimming! I'm still cycling around town and stuff (whenever I actually make it out of the house!) but I stand up over the smallest bump in the road Smile

ThreeForTea · 30/07/2012 22:49

Hi! Haven't posted for a while as was away on holiday, and spent the last couple of days catching up and sleeping, trying to make a dent in my extreme exhaustion and nausea!

So missed loads!! Just wanted to say such congrats to you random!!! I am so happy that you are still here.
Also massive congrats with your twins manda! Another one who would really like them!

We went away to Sardinia, it was nice but looks like we managed to miss the entire British Summer while away?? I went with dd, my mum, dad and sister. They are all slightly crazy so was intense, but they did look after dd for me a lot and give her a really good time while I read some fun girlie holiday paperbacks :)

Pg symptoms have hit me hard since last week. I was literally unable to get up for most of the weekend. Feel sick, headachy, uncomfy, bloated, blah in general. Luckily have a week off of work this week which is just as well as I would have really struggled to make it through a day today!

I have my first midwife appt tomorrow at 12 midday. Have told dh not to come as my midwife will probably just sign me up tomorrow, height, weight and blood pressure, decline me an early scan and send me on my way within about 10 minutes. She has come round to my house a few days later to do the bloods and bring me the bumpf the last two times.

I am really liking watching the Olympics! I loved the opening ceremony and will try to get tickets (again) if more come on sale.

Lovely to be back :)

roteelefant · 30/07/2012 23:56

Can I join?

Due with no 1. March 4th. A total surprise - completely.
But figured I might as well join you all.

MrsRigby · 31/07/2012 07:43

Morning

Welcome pinkpeony4, IBlaimeThePenguins and roteelefant and congratulations Grin

vixjane could you have got your dates wrong? If you were 5 weeks pregnant 159 is actually okay and within the normal range. Are you still having another test done Friday? I still say you should be in an EPU, you need a scan. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed.

lexieindisguise DH father has a big gob Angry When his middle daughter had an ectopic pregnancy he phoned me at work to tell me all about it. When she was going through IVF he was telling everyone over lunch. Recently, his youngest daughter who is pregnant with her second decided to tell him, he told DH and I within 30 minutes of being told, we sent her a txt to say congratulations only for her to have a go at us because she wanted it kept secret! I pointed out to her that she shouldn't have told her father if she wanted to keep it a secret. Anyway, DH doesn't want to tell anyone until after the scan, so I hope I can trust him this time not to go to Daddy as I'd like to txt everyone first. I could go on about the in-laws Angry Angry Angry

JoJoBella84 I think so long as you're keeping down water you'll be okay, but I would check with the midwife.

Off to the GP's soon to have the hCG checked. Probably won't get the results until tomorrow morning.

Time for a veggie black pudding on toast and tea for breakfast.

backwardpossom · 31/07/2012 08:33

Booking in today. Will ask for an early scan, but it's unlikely! Anyone else suffering from constipation? I feel so nauseous when I need to poo (sorry tmi!).

dameflamingo · 31/07/2012 08:36

Hello all, I'm back! Just catching up with al your news. Will reply fully in a bit but very quickly sending huge hugs and support to vix and mrs rigby my thoughts are with you both at this scary time. I'm so cross on your behalf that it's being made worse by the system.

jojo I hope the sickness has abated. It's awful I know but you can go quite a long time without any major ill effects if you are keeping water and liquids down. It took three weeks of keeping no liquids down before I was hospitalised. Even then it wasn't the end Of the world - unpleasant yes...but I'm fine as is bean ( well its growing and i am displaying evry blinking symptom still so presuming!!) to all who are feeling awful, keep your spirits up lovelies.

I have my booking appointment and scan today...am both excited and utterly terrified. We haven't told anyone yet so if this goes ok we'll tell parents and siblings. lexi it sounds like your mum was so very excited for you that she couldn't resist sharing your news. You sound like you are being really calm about this ...I think I'd allow the old hormones to do the talking, so I'm in awe!!

Newcomers!!! Welcome, welcome! Hope your stay here is Uneventful in the most pleasant way.

Right am going to get myself ready for midwife appointment.... Wish me luck xx

Lexiindisguise · 31/07/2012 10:10

dame I hope the midwife appt goes well.

mrsrigby my DM is normally quite discreet, I'm a bit flabbergasted she's told so many people! But I an trying to stay calm as she doesn't live near us and falling out over the phone is never good. It's done now!

Hope everyone is OK on this rainy morning. Stayed up too late (10pm Grin) last night & am shattered today! Contemplating trying to snooze in the loos at work!

sarahs999 · 31/07/2012 10:26

Hello all, sorry to hear the bad news lately on the board - hugs to all who need them. I know what an awful time it is.

Well, 8 weeks today, which is a modern record for me - the last three ended at 8 weeks, 7+3 and 5+1, so I'm doing well. Althuogh I am mentalling about less sore boobs today. One week until my next scan, which should be the key really - my consultant says that for ladies with my kind of problems if you get to week 9 and everything looks ok your chances of miscarriage become the same as everyone else's. So counting down the days.

Got my booking in for 15 Aug. Not really looking forward to it - I've done so many of them over the years and the midwives are always really jolly and then you get to the page where they ask about previous pregnancies and their mood comlpetely changes. Ha ha. Hopefully this will be the last time I ever have to do it .

Good luck with scan dame. And sympathy to those who are feeling so rotten. Just be grateful though - it's a good sign!

AuntieJu · 31/07/2012 10:45

Morning everyone, sorry for such a long absence, however I have been lurking on this thread, just not posting! Finding it pretty difficult to keep up with you all, you are all so good at posting.

Sorry to those of you who are going through difficult times, my heart goes out to you.

I had my gp appointment a couple of weeks ago and they don't do early scans in my area for 1 previous mc, so we decided to shell out £160 Shock for an early scan to check all was ok, so we saw our little bean last night, all looked well at 8+6 weeks, saw and listened to heartbeat and even saw it do a little dance! Have pics although difficult to see which end is which, but all looks ok so far. Phew, what a relief! My mum and sisters keep telling me to be positive, but so difficult as I don't want to take it for granted. However it is good news that there is a baby there, as last time at 11 weeks there was just an empty space, so all fingers and toes crossed.

Oh the doctor did also check the number and there is only 1! Unlike manda - congrats and hats off to you!

Wishing you all equally happy scans, take care x

Vixjane · 31/07/2012 10:51

Hi all,

Spoke to the doctor yesterday after work (different one from Friday) and she was really nice. She said that the figure is a little low but it could be ok but we have to see if it goes up or not. Due in for another blood test tomorrow morning and have got a doctors appt booked for Thursday afternoon with the same doc I spoke to on the phone. She has said if the figure goes up she will send me for a scan to see what?s going on.

Apart from my last period I?m a bit of blank on OV dates as we weren?t really trying last month as we had a really busy month and we went out lots and it just happened! So I could be slightly behind on my dates if I OV?d later than a ?normal? month

Just keeping everything crossed at the mo!

Congrats to the newbies! Hope everyone is feeling ok this week and not too sick and tired.

MrsR have you been for your blood test this morning?

IWantAYeti · 31/07/2012 11:12

Sorry to hear about everyone who is going through worrying times, take care of yourselves!

And hello to all the newbies!

I'm 8 weeks today and feeling very sick, totally gone off things I usually like and having to force myself to eat. urgh!

I have been thinking about buying a Doppler thing nearer the 12 week mark, is anyone else getting one? Dh thinks its a bad idea and I will end up using it all the time but SIL had one and found it quite reassuring.

Anyway off to work now, starting to struggle to fit in my trousers already can't wait to tell work so I can get maternity ones!

dameflamingo · 31/07/2012 11:40

9+2 weeks and a breakdancing baby, blurry pic to prove it. Cried, dh cried, consultant and nurse also got a tad emotional in a good way. Thought I'd share.

zoeymlucas · 31/07/2012 11:42

Hi can I join please I am 8 weeks today and have been a little scared of moving from the conception page as in may I had a MMC at around 7 weeks (but later found out baby had dies a few weeks before). Am all booked in for a scan Thursday 9th August so I can be booked in for a cervical stitch to try and keep this baby in as long as poss so a long road ahead :)

Glad I am not the only one struggling to fit into work trousers - and bras too!

sarahs999 · 31/07/2012 12:05

Hi Zoey and Yeti - I'm eight weeks today too.

And Yay flamingo for a great scan!

sarahs999 · 31/07/2012 12:05

And good news vix - fingers crossed

Lexiindisguise · 31/07/2012 12:17

Good news Vix! Keeping everything crossed for you. And Yeay, dameflamingo!

Welcome, new folks, great to have you on board!

JoJoBella84 · 31/07/2012 12:21

Fantastic news to all those with scan pics and dancing babies!! Still waiting on me postman to bring me my referral though am seeing me this afty so will ask her about it as well!! If my dates are right they only have 10 days to do it until I hit the 13+6 marker!!
Still, the sickness appears to have lifted again today. I'm going to try some corn on the cob and a cup of tea :)

Em2010 · 31/07/2012 12:36

Hello Everyone,

It's been a very long time since I posted on here so lots of apologies. I've been extremely lazy for the past few weeks and apart from working and looking after DS i've mostly just been throwing up or asleep!! Anyway, trying to catch up with everybody's news now, amazing how fast everything has moved!

Congratulations to all the bfps and manda on the twins!! So so sorry to hear those of you going through stressfull times. Will try and have a proper catch up over the next few days!

According to my calculation, I'm 8+6 now, although had an early scan on Sunday and saw a little bean with a flickering heartbeat, measuring at 8+6 then (that would put me two days ahead Grin). Also had my booking in appointment last week. Really not sure whether to have the screening at 12 weeks. I didn't with DS as my odds were about 1:1200 then and I thought 'oh I like those odds' this time they're a bit higher about 1:900 (so still really low) but I'm really scared if they come back after the test and say my odds are say 1:600 then I'll freak out because they've gone up, even though 1:600 is still good odds!! (am i making any sense?!)

Anyway, sorry for the marathon post, must go now as I am so hungry I think i'm about to start eating the keyboard..... ttfn!

JoJoBella84 · 31/07/2012 13:21

em2010 I'll be having the NS scan and blood tests but as it stands I don't think I'm particularly high risk! It's the more invasive ones I worry about do haven't yet made my mind up about those of they're needed.
I know it's only about 1% of mc with the invasive tests but it's still a risk!
