Aw thanks so much everyone! I'm still gobsmacked. I'm not sure how I'm going to get any work done today, this week ... or, come to think of it, ever again! Oh JoJo I do hope that ginger biscuit stayed down! Haha! Glad you're enthusiastic about the idea of twins too! Smile

Vixjane · 25/07/2012 12:53

Glad you're feeling better Newyearsday!

Manda thats awesome news!! twice the baby shopping now!

Welcome flamingo!

On a slightly different note, i'm a bit worried as i don't seem to have the sickness that everyone else does. I'm 5+2 - is it simply too early for sickness or should i be worried?

Lexiindisguise · 25/07/2012 13:01

Manda that is so fantastic! Really excited for you!
Vix I read yesterday that 20% of women have no nausea or sickness, so nothing to worry about Smile I've had nausea only from 6weeks but some people never feel it - fingers crossed for you!

dameflamingo · 25/07/2012 13:21

vix having had early nausea I have read quite a bit on it and lexi is spot on. The 'typical' ( ahem is there such a thing?) profile for morning sickness is that it starts around 4-6 weeks... some people don't get it at all, some get it much later, and it is not a bad sign in any case. Fret not and try to enjoy this special time (note to self -heed own words).

JoJoBella84 · 25/07/2012 13:22

My nausea started from what I thought was 6 weeks but based on my current dates must have been 8 so I wouldn't worry too much!!

JoJoBella84 · 25/07/2012 13:28

Ps manda the ginger biscuit stayed down AND the pot noodle (bad and wrong I know) so you are forgiven!!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 25/07/2012 13:33

Oh my god mandasand that is amazing news!! GrinGrin (see what I did there Wink) bet you just can't believe it. Brilliant news!!

Vix dint worry at all about the lack of symptoms; I had none with DD and as I mentioned yesterday, she was a big chunk, so nothing to worry about! Talking of big chunks, I am going to be one as I cannot stop eating!!! Grin

So chugged for you manda it's great news!

tiddleypompom · 25/07/2012 13:39

Twins!!! Hooray!!! Wow manda you must be over the moon! Fantastic news, many congratulations - will you be tempted to find out their gender at 20 weeks? More scans too :) chuffed to bits for you!

Hello flamingo! Welcome :)

Hot & sweaty packing - lovely to check in and read such happy news.

Pot noodles eh? Hmmm.... I could be convinced...

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 25/07/2012 13:41

JoJoBella84 · 25/07/2012 13:43

Vixjane · 25/07/2012 13:45

roseandroli · 25/07/2012 14:35

Congratulations, Manda, so thrilled for you!

Thank you all for being such a lovely thread. I'm afraid I'll have to sign off, as it looks like I'm going to mc again. I wish you all much happiness and hope you all have healthy, wonderful pregnancies.

JoJoBella84 · 25/07/2012 14:40

roseandroli sorry to hear such news, I hope you have plenty of support and are able to try again when ready xxx

GummiberryJuice · 25/07/2012 15:02

Ahh rose what sad news

Mandasand twins! Will you find out the sex at 20 weeks?

Vic with my first I was sick bang on 8 weeks, so don't panic

I've been feeling nauseous all day but I had loads on, and didn't help spending 52 pounds on dd1s school scarf and jumper!

Waves to everyone

Lexiindisguise · 25/07/2012 15:50

Sorry to hear it Rose, thinking of you x x

knickyknocks · 25/07/2012 15:51

mandasand how exciting twins!! Thanks Thanks congratulations!
Tay, sheldonella, dameflamingo - I've got fairly bad nausea and vomiting too at 6 weeks 3 days. Had a bad time with my DD so it's not unexpected. Started throwing up last night. Yuck. Evenings are my worst time though have been struck with all day nausea at the mo. Saw my GP yesterday who said he is happy to sign me off, and has given me some anti-emetics (due to how I was with DD) - have been given prochloropide (I think that's how you spell it!) - it's the same as stemitil or buccastem.

Went for an early scan today and saw a little heartbeat - there's only one in there, just crossing fingers and toes, beanie holds on now. Much love to all xx

knickyknocks · 25/07/2012 15:53

roseandroli pressed send before I saw your post. How awful, you poor thing, . Take care of yourself please and hope that you will have a smooth problem free pregnancy in the future. Much love xx

Catherine26 · 25/07/2012 16:24

Manda, how exciting! Are they your first and second babies? :-)

Vic, I'll swap it's only today I'm not feeling sick but I feel fat as a house. This is baby three and think she's making her mark. Definitely storing fat cells aswell. Sigh. Dread to think how large I'll be at the end.

Hopefully everyone is surviving the heat. We got the pool out which has kept the girls amused.

Sorry to hear your news Rose. Take good care of yourself x

shieldbug · 25/07/2012 16:39

Oh Rose so sorry. Look after yourself and wish you all the best for future pg.

Manda wow! Good luck!!
Vix I had no sickness or nausea with ds1 and just mild nausea now, so just count yourself one of the lucky ones!

Sorry, can't remember who it was had the rash. It might be worth going to the drs if it persists, but it may just be a heat rash due to increased blood flow in your bump. Hope it vanishes very soon.

Knicky- isn't it exciting. Can't wait to see a heartbeat. It makes it all real somehow.

Had drs appt today and he agreed I needed consultant led care at the Ulster hospital (Hooray), rather than going to the local mw led hospital. I had a rough time there last birth, so I'm delighted. he also said I should be fast-tracked, so hopefully I'll be getting a scan very soon. (Hooray again).

mandasand · 25/07/2012 17:00

Roseandroli, I was so, so sorry to hear about your MC. Really gutted, and sad to lose you from the thread. I feel a bit greedy having two beans growing. You take care of yourself and hope to see you on a thread in the not too distant future. Thanks

Thank you ALL for the overwhelmingly lovely messages of congrats and support! The news hasn't properly sunk in yet. I was knackered earlier so went for a lie down, but couldn't nap for all the thoughts racing around my head! Catherine, yes these are babies 1 and 2!!! Bloody hell! Tiddley, DH wanted to keep the sex a surprise, which (despite being naturally inquisitive) I was happy to do. But now we have to think up an extra girl-name and an extra boy-name, just in case! I'm not sure if he will change his mind about this. He's already worrying about where we're going to put them when they are gangly teens! Hope the packing's going very well, despite the heat!

Knicky WOOP for your successful scan today! It's just stunning to see / hear the heartbeat isn't it? I was left with the overwhelming sense of the human body being absolutely amazing?

Shield sorry to hear you had a rough time at MWLU. I'm thinking of my local one - any advice to offer? Glad to hear about the early scan, too :-)

VixJane I've only had mild feelings of nausea. I retched once, and haven't vomited at all. Weirdly, given I have more HCG rushing round owing to the multiple preg. So don't worry - we are the lucky ones!

JoJo I am mightily relieved about that ginger biscuit! Phew! Yesterday and today I've been hit by these really strong feelings of intense hunger only satisfied by carbs. If they get any stronger I predict I'm going to be bloody massive!

EthelRed you made me laugh with your TWIN GRIN! Love it, haha!

kirsty80 · 25/07/2012 17:05

Rose I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I hope you have got people around you to look after you. It amazing how in love with our little beans we fall isn't it?

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow, I'm suprised at how nervous I am about it. I think after the two mcs last time I just fear anything to do with midwives and hospitals.

That said I am convinced I look 20 weeks pregnant today!! I am chunk! Not tried wotsits yet but I am a big fan of ready salted hula hoops! I have also become a woman obsessed with washing!! if its not being worn its being washed so that I can take advantage of the warm weather and dry it on the line!! This has resulted in an ironing pile the size of my waist line and I can't even drink a bottle of wine whilst ploughing through it (am I still a bit new to the thread to be sharing such secrets of my past?!)Blush

GummiberryJuice · 25/07/2012 17:08

Shield I'm for the RVH, did you watch the programme based at the ulster like one born every minute, it looks a lovely unit

GummiberryJuice · 25/07/2012 17:11

X posts kirsty not at all I'm sure much more will be revealed as we waddlestroll through these threads

JoJoBella84 · 25/07/2012 18:00
