Sounds like a show. You can carry on having it until baby is born so stock up on those panty liners!

Weekipper · 02/08/2012 11:15

Hope all is going well Ham and you're busy snuggling a wee one!

picture glad you've got an answer and are feeling more in control.

Sounds like we're all getting quite emotional so things must be happening.

I can empathise with the OHs working long hours. Mine works shifts and hasn't had a day off in about 3weeks and is currently working 8-9.30pm this week. He keeps phoning me to check I'm ok. Luckily he's off this weekend :) I've got jobs for him.

Like the eyes on the prize and eyes closed- legs open! Made me laugh!

miaboo · 02/08/2012 11:57

nightfall1983 It does sound like a show but I've been having mine for nearly 2 weeks now! The first one was about 15cm long (tmi!) It does look like snot Shock and I keep losing small bits when I go to the loo, I rang the hospital when it first happened and she didnt seem to concerned said to keep an eye on it and monitor if losing any fluids or baby movements slow down, she said you can have this for a few weeks before labour kicks in, I've seen my midwife twice to since it happened and she thinks the same thing.

capecath · 02/08/2012 13:02

nightfall and miaboo I seem to have been having that kind of discharge for a week or two now as well. Large, mucousy lumps, clear, cloudy, snotty-looking (great...) Mentioned at last mw check and she said it was normal to have increased discharge at this stage due to increased body fluids?? Not bloody at all though. I was wondering if it was mucous plug starting to come away... and I am getting paranoid about losing fluids now, as I am certain my feet are a lot less puffy and sore than before - dunno if that means anything - besides needing a pee a million times a day...

needles feel for you with long working hours of your DH, especially with another one to look after. Is it the kind of work he could do some after hours at home? My DH doesn't have to do long hours, but I was a little cheesed by his company only giving him two (paid) days of paternity - thought rather mindgey. He's taking a week of statutory paternity and then 3 days holiday. We also don't have family nearby (closest 10 hours drive!!) but have a list of people who have offered to look after DS when going into labour so we'll just start phoning... Neighbour is good idea, esp if middle of night. Does get me stressed thinking about it though!

Gingerelle · 02/08/2012 13:42

Hi all, not been on here for months but finally finished work so having a catch up- congrats to all who've already 'popped' and exciting to see ham's posts as it happens! All good with me, 37+6 now so time moving on- getting excited now! Anyway good luck to all, G x

hamncheese · 02/08/2012 13:47

Hey all.... Alexander Hugh born at 12.25 7lbs exactly. He is absolutely perfect and so content.

Labour was .... um a tad horrific BUT worth it. Will tell the whole story later but the reason for the horror was him.being back to back. It doesn't matter anyway as he is here after 32 hours and we couldn't be happier.

Westcountrylovescheese · 02/08/2012 13:54

Congratulations Hamncheese! Look forward to hearing about your labour and birth but for now enjoy your newborn cuddles! Grin

woopsidaisy · 02/08/2012 14:02

Ah, congrats ham! Thanks

DS1 was back to back....ouch! But you did it!

Love the names!!

MrsMigginslovespies · 02/08/2012 14:06

AHHH Ham amazing news, so many congratulations to you and your new baby boy Thanks Grin!! Well done with the long labour and enjoy cuddling your new son. SO lovely!

No real news from my end, other than I've had lots of BHs today and am a bit sore after all the shed clearing yesterday. Plan to take it easy and go to see Chariots of Fire at t'cinema later. Received lovely star pram blanket from John Lewis from a good friend earlier which was a nice surprise, plus my parents are delivering my bargain Ebay Poang Ikea nursing chair tomorrow too, so we really are now all set for baby to arrive. 38+2 today! x

Whiteangel · 02/08/2012 14:06

Congratulations and well done! Xx

ishopthereforeiam · 02/08/2012 14:40

needles you are def not BU! DH usually works 11-12 hours a day but luckily has managed two weeks mat leave and may change jobs and secure gardening leave which would be awesome as I can't lift dd or heavyish things for another 5 weeks!

picture sorry to hear that, hope you are ok?

Ham congratulations! Thanks and a LARGE Wine!! DD was back to back and it made for a more painful labour (apparently as don't have anything to compare it to!) - hope you didn't have too many complications and are recoverin g well! Ejoy that baby smell and cuddles. Lovely name btw x

ffscatmove · 02/08/2012 14:42

Congratulations Ham! Thanks Wine Biscuit

Well done on getting through such a long labour, enjoy your little boy (and say a few prayers to the labour goddess for those of us still waiting! Envy)

The3Bears · 02/08/2012 14:49

Congratulations ham Lovely name, hope your enjoying newborn snuggles x

Hope everyone is well, nothing to report here actually slept well lastnight but woke up with dull ache low down again but seems to have worn off now :( really frustrating now as it's making me so fed up been feeling v sick aswell but nothing else happening. Is anyone else the same?

ImissMiniPop · 02/08/2012 14:55

Love the name, hope you're recovering well. xx

NeedlesCuties · 02/08/2012 15:01

Congrats ham!!!!! That news cheered me up, woohoo, have added you and your lovely DS to the list.

I'm assuming if the baby is back to back I'd have heard about it by now Confused MW has never mentioned where its back is at any of my appts... am worried now though... >gulp<

capecath DH is a doctor so can't bring work home - the paperwork is all confidential so needs to be completed in the clinic, and there ain't no way I want any of his patients in my house Wink

NeedlesCuties · 02/08/2012 15:02

3Bears I meant to say in my last post: yes I've been getting aches like that and also was feeling sick the past 2 days. Thought my hyperemesis was returning and was panicked, but wasn't anything more than nausea.

Lovemarmite · 02/08/2012 15:03

Congratulations Ham - lovely names, really happy and beaming for you! Grin
Wow wee, one of us 11th jumped the queue! Yippee, me next, me next, me, me, me...!
But not if it too horrific, cross legs and not going next... only want a beautiful orgasmic one thanks Hmm

miaboo · 02/08/2012 15:33

I've been feeling really sick today to and have got a pain in the bottom of my back which seems alittle familiar to the pain I had when in labour with ds1, I'm also having more pressure down there and the tops of my legs were really hurting last night and TMI ALERT!!! I Was clearing out alot last night [embarrassed] , I thought I may of overdone it with taking my 5 year old out to the cinema and for lunch yesterday and was in bed by 8pm feeling really crap!!
I'm now left waiting if this is the beginning of things, I've checked my hospital bag and baby boys bag and got things ready just in case!! as with ds2 I was in labour at 2pm, hospital at 3pm and had baby at 4pm!!, only worry is this time I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old at home with me!!

Weekipper · 02/08/2012 15:47

Congratulations Ham! We'll hear your labour story when you're up to it (if you want).

My swelling has also gone down a fair amount too.

Look at all the boys who've been born so far!

The3Bears · 02/08/2012 15:56

Sounds promising miaboo hope something starts for you soon.

needles It was never mentioned to me at any MW appts (baby being back to back) I mentioned it to MW yesterday as thats what I was told at the scan on Friday and she said he's still a little bit back to back but also slightly on the left, not too worried as they can easily move out of this position so keeping fingers crossed he does soon.

I would like to go next please marmite Grin really dreading going overdue now, at least were in Aug now so not long to go!

The3Bears · 02/08/2012 15:58

Oh yes weekipper 9 boys! wow they're all in a hurry to get out :)

Lovemarmite · 02/08/2012 16:24

Good luck miaboo sounds promising!

3bears, ah yes a fellow 11th, of course then please, happy for you to go next! Grin

Westcountrylovescheese · 02/08/2012 16:29

No No no no... No more 11th babies allowed to jump the queue.

I'm next (boy due 7th) or at least before another 11th! Envy

Anyway just realised that when we started this thread I was very confident that baby would be here before the thread reaches 1000. So 150 posts left and getting worried that it won't happen till the next thread.
