The3Bears · 25/07/2012 10:02

Congratulations Loupee!!! Thanks hope you feel less sore soon x

Well we found our missing cat last night stuck up a tree near the railway Shock had all the neighbours helping to get him down as dp was at work, we heard him crying at 6pm after some lovely lady told us she'd heard a cat all day meowing. We finally got him home at turned 11pm!!! I was shattered and poor ds wouldnt go to bed until his little puss cat was home he was so upset when he heard him crying. Just so glad he's home now but petrified to let him out again so he's staying in for a while.
That was the most exciting Tuesday night i've had in a while :) had took ds to park after school til 5pm then got home had some eggs and toast and was out looking for cat so was standing and running from 2.45 til 11.30pm! absolutley shattered today going to rest as much as possible, was hoping it might bring on labour but no such luck Hmm got a feeling now this babys going to be late if in the right position.

Hope everyone has a lovely day today, ds's last day in reception today cant believe how fast it's gone :( x

panpipe · 25/07/2012 10:22

Congratulations Loupee and welcome to the next thread baby! Hope you do manage to make it home today.

Vino I'm also wondering how iced RLT would work Grin

Was it eighties asking about nursing tops? (Posting on phone, can't check!). I bought a pack of 2 t-shirts for £20 from H&M the other day but also hoping if the nice weather continues I'll be able to carry on with stretchy vest tops.

Went to a waterbirth class with the NCT last night. It was kinda useful I suppose but by this stage I've done most of my research already so didn't really learn anything new.

Going to visit SIL tonight; she's due on Friday but was warned at her doc appt the other day that her baby is likely to be a monster and to be prepared for a long difficult labour and poss cs, so she's understandably feeling quite down about it.

Kitchen cleaning on the agenda for me today; hoping getting on the floor will help get things going!

panpipe · 25/07/2012 10:23

Oops no it was white asking about the tops!

PictureThis · 25/07/2012 10:45

Lovemarmite Femme pads are gel pads designed to go in the freezer, then once cold you put one in your knickers next to your perineum and they reduce swelling from trauma. You one to wear, one to freeze and I found them to be really good. They were designed by a midwife called Prof Mary Steen who's done a lot of research into perineal trauma and t healing process. You can get these from mothercare or boots.

MrsMigginslovespies · 25/07/2012 10:46

Wow, Loupee congratualtions, wonderful news! And well done you, a good weight!

Glad your pusscat turned up Threebears... scary when things like that happen.

Tis sunny here today so far, though not as hot as London etc. Am currently hotdishwashing all bottles/breastpump stuff prior to sterilising them when needed later. I'd bought a Swing from Ebay, but have bought a new tube for it today as decided a fresh one is better (can always have a spare). You'll be thrilled to know that the nursery is coming on a treat and well on the way to being finished and I can't bloody wait! Beginning to look so cute.

Had a much better sleep last night and can't help but wonder if the hypnobirth session I did earlier helped. Dh and I have the dentist later then we're off t'cinema to see Dark Night on an Orange Wed deal. Hurrah. Hope there are Magnums there.

37 weeks today. Can't believe it! x

ChicBabyP · 25/07/2012 11:23

Congratulations Loopee on the arrival of your little boy. Hope the soreness passes soon and you get home today too.

Goodluck ontheedge with your induction today (I think?)

Thanks for the info on the pads picturethis, sounds like a really good idea.

Also wondering how the iced RLT would be as I'm finding it difficult to have hot tea in this weather, might give it a try today. And for those still wondering, I was told (by both MW and consultant) not to start the RLT until 37 weeks, but no idea how many cups a day. So just having it when I think about it really...

I'm also struggling with clothing at the moment. Everything is just getting too tight on me, and the maxi dresses make me look like a house!! you know, when it falls straight down from the tip of the bump...looks fine from the front, but from the side I look HUGE, (I'm quite petite so looks ridiculous). Also don't want to buy anymore maternity stuff at 38+3...Hmm gonna end up walking around in my underwear if it stays this hot! aLthough now I think of it, even my bras are getting too tight! sorry for the rant..

I felt what I thought was the beginning of period pain a few days ago, then woke up the same night with some stomach pains too and really thought it was the beginning of something happening. But it went away and felt nothing since. Had a check up and still nothing happening, bubba's not even engaged yet but apparently it doesn't mean anything, I could still go into labour at any point...

Come on baby, make a move!!

farmerswifey · 25/07/2012 11:25

Biggest Congratulations Loupee!

We have everything in place; the nursery is finished, the house cleaned to within an inch of it's life and the freezer stuffed to capacity - I want my baby now please, I feel most uncomfortable, as big as a Heffalump and a little bit grumpy - grrrrgh

39 weeks 2 days and counting...

ishopthereforeiam · 25/07/2012 11:28

Loupee Congrats Thanks that's fabulous news! Hope you are getting some rest now. Sorry to hear about the forceps - if you had any injuries just try and rest up as mush as pos (and use donut cushions or roll a towel into a circle shape) as it can be quite relieving x

80s nipple stimulation, using a birthing ball to start to open up hips, sex all meant to help bring on labour as well as pineapple, curry, drinking castor oil (urgh!) - not sure the last 3 are true tho!

Enjoy the cinema mrsm

3bears time flies so quickly, at least you get to experience it all again sooN!

Feel like I'm awake every 30 mins at night so looking forward to a nap when I can persuade dd she also wants to sleep!

OP posts:
Weekipper · 25/07/2012 11:46

Congratulations Loupee Hope you get, or have got, home to rest in the lovely sun today!

Thanks Woopsadaisy I just assumed it was knacked and I'd need a new one. It'd certainly be less hassle if it just needed a wee something than having to replace. It's the milk going off that was the first clue for us too!

MrsMiggins enjoy Batman. I went last night and really enjoyed it despite getting a bit sore and having to change positions a bit.

fairtradelu · 25/07/2012 12:17

Whoop! Congratulations loupee! Well done you!

I also went to see Batman last night. I was so looking forward to the air con but after about 10 mins I couldn't feel it any more and soon started with a hot flush that lasted the duration of the film. I felt like I was in a bloody sauna! Damn good film though - def worth seeing!

I'm still "only" 35 weeks so a little way to go. Am feeling reasonably well but my sleeping has completely gone to pot so am having at least one nap a day. I hope all of those nearing the end game have some movement soon. As soon as I hit 37 weeks I'm starting on the raspberry leaf tea and other eviction measures. The thought of still being pregnant at the end of August isn't too appealing!

geekette · 25/07/2012 12:20

Yay! Loupee! Congratulations! Sorry about the soreness and suddenness of it all but you have your little bubba now! the pain will subside soon.

I am on my count down as well now. I was admitted this morning for two or three weeks. Section date isn't decided yet. will possibly be in two weeks time. Soon soon...

Lovemarmite · 25/07/2012 12:30

Thanks picturethis for the gel pad info, they sound really good!

Great to hear your cat is home safe and sound 3bears

I'm so jealous of your house cleaning - we had builders mixing concrete yesterday and more work happening next week and so it feels so dusty and grimy here at the moment. Oh yes and carrots came from farm shop that were covered in mud (normally I'd be happy about this!) but I managed to drop them all in the fridge and so it needs a clean! Plus DH managed to bring fox poo in and so our nest feels like a dirty, poo-ey dust bowl!
Oh yes, and the washing machine has decided to pack up this morning Sad

I keep getting very big 'going to be sick' feelings, like huge motions from deep below. I can't really describe them but when they happen, sometimes sitting, sometimes lying down, they kind of make me breathe out slowly and try to recover. Is this normal do you think?
No real pains but just these downward deep feelings can be felt all through torso that take my breath away and make me really nauseous Confused

capecath · 25/07/2012 12:57

CONGRATS Loupee and well done!!!

whiteangel I just bought some nursing tops from H&M like panpipe and think they're really nice. They have a good selection there. New Look do some nursing tops too (I think). Hoping for more discreet nursing in public this time as that was one of the things that put me of bf with DS.

3bears glad your cat has been found! Must be a relief.

marmite I've been feeling nauseous on and off and think it is related to baby pressing against stomach, but may be worth a mention to your mw if gets bad and persistent?

ImissMiniPop · 25/07/2012 13:19

Congrats Loupee so exciting that the babies are starting to arrive :o

ishop are you next, tomorrow? Hope you're feeling ok about everything.

Hoping that everyone else is coping ok in this weather?

Lovemarmite · 25/07/2012 15:39

OK, could be the weather but...

I think it's the start of painful stretch marks Sad
lower belly skin is starting to feel very sore and burning... going to put some heavy duty balm oil now!
37+4 today, maybe this is them making an appearance!

Gnomi · 25/07/2012 17:24

Congratulations Loupee! Well done!

Hope you're doing okay, geekette, was the hospital stay always planned?

Thanks for all the information about waters breaking. I think I've watched too much tv and expect it to be like a sudden waterfall!

Thanks for the tip about Femme pads panpipe, they sound great.

Lovemarmite i totally sympathise with the mess made by builders. We're having our kitchen extended and refitted, and no matter how many times I say to DH, "It could be any day now," it doesn't seem to speed things up. They come on average 2 days a week. When they're here, they get loads done. I just wish the whole thing would speed up and get finished, then I can have my new cooker and tumble dryer all ready for the baby. I spent half an hour scrubbing plaster off the floor this morning; brought on a few braxton hicks I think but mostly made my knees sore!

Other than the kitchen, I think we're mostly ready for the baby. I made up the Moses basket today - just a sheet and 1 layer of waffle blanket. It looks so cute! Smile But I have also just eaten the bag of chocolate buttons from the hospital bag Blush. Will have to nip to the shop to get another before DH spots it!

38+1 today.

geekette · 25/07/2012 18:00

The first I was told of being hospitalised was two weeks ago. It was a bit of a shock but I am here now and coping.

But I doubt I can give any more updates as we are not allowed to charge devices here.

That's a bit isolating but I know why I am here :) basically they don't want me to be too far away when my waters go as I am at high risk of a cord prolapse.

And apparently I will have the Hollywood gush quickly followed by the undignifying bum in air pose.

No stretch marks yet but very itchy bump skin...

susiegrapevine · 25/07/2012 20:06

For f**ks sake it appears my boiler is broken again!!! Arrrrggggg this is the 3rd time this year. All I wanted was a nice shower this evening to wash off all the horrid sweat!!

Had a good day today as well and I have no real time to sort it out tmw as am trying to run my dad's business.

Had mw today and all's good for my homebirth have been put on the list and everything so yay for that at least.

Babies head is down a little further 3/5th's palpable so seems like he's not coming back out again. Good for a 2nd baby I think.

God am so angry and upset just wanna smash something arrrg!!

susiegrapevine · 25/07/2012 20:07

Sorry in my angry rant forgot to say congrats the loupee

Lovemarmite · 25/07/2012 20:19

Hope all is good in hospital for you geekette and hopefully you can charge up and let us know how you get on. Wishing you lots of good wishes!

gnomi hope your building works finish soon too! I can't believe it's almost August and everything is coming so quickly.
Did the ironing today and had to sit on the birthing ball every time I got a few BH or some odd pelvic pain, seem to be getting more and more weird down there pains. Probably nothing but DH wonders if LO wants to come early... I think it's just me being really rubbish at being pregnant and feeling lots of twinges and pains! Trying not to moan but go with it.

Hope everyone is doing well!

hamncheese · 25/07/2012 20:48

Aw bears glad your cat is home safe now! Poor wee mew! My mogs send their regards (by which I mean I do and they continue to lie like cat skin rugs on the floor as it is so hot)

I'm the same having pains, especially at night, chic and thinking OOH and then nothing... bah! Keep hoping to wake up in the morning and realising I'm in labour but always wake up and feel squishy happy bump doing not a lot ha!

marmite I seem to get really nauseaus feelings like that too and go all hot... it's when I'm going to go to the toilet. Like my body has to make a huge effort to evacuate anything as there is no room in there y'know? Hope it isn't stretch marks you are getting! Also my MW today said all the twinges and pains are good signs things are getting ready but no indication when it will come bah!

Ah that's so crap you can't charge your phone in hospital geek hope things are going okay and you get your baby safely

Sorry about the boiler susie grrr last thing you need right now!

Turns out whoever was saying I may not be 4/5 engaged is right, I am 1/5 and 4/5 palpable. MW must have written the right thing in notes but said the wrong thing in person to me last time. Different MW this week cleared it up. Baby is still 1/5 and back facing out my right side so in a good position still yay! May get some more rib relief yet too!

My cankles have been their worst ever today. I seriously look like I should be wearing those beige velcro granny shoes :( All I can wear now is flip flops. NONE of my shoes fit. None. And flip flops are not very supportive or comfy for much walking argh! How is anyone else coping shoe-wise? I'm not buying any more in a bigger size for 2 weeks only!

panpipe · 25/07/2012 20:53

Ham I'm managing in flip flops but trying not to walk too far! Struggling with clothes though as nothing fits any more!

Just seen SIL and apparently it was her GP who did her 40w appt and apparently seemed fairly clueless so she isn't too worried about his prediction of a horrendous birth!

All the best in hospital geekette and fingers crossed for a bouncing baby soon!

frillylemons · 25/07/2012 21:24

I feel really weird Sad I don't know what's happening, but my bump feels a lot lower and heavier than normal and the baby is causing a nerve at the top of my leg to hurt more than it has the last few days. It all just feels totally different and weird and I don't know why!!!

tashaw28 · 25/07/2012 21:56

Huge congrats to Loupee! So exciting!

I have the worlds worst cankles, actually don't recognise my ankles, feet or toes!!! Yuck! They also hurt and my shoes are digging inSad

But on the bright side kids broke up from school today and Dh has 10 days hols so should be able to relax a bit, since I had 3 kids alone in the park for 2 hours this afternoon, this did not help the puffy feet angle!!!!

36+3
