The city mini, not select as that would be very heavy with your age gap. The mini is a reasonable price too.

Chunkychicken · 15/07/2012 13:36

Thanks YW and Valium yes, my DD is 2yo too, so probably won't be using it for long, & unlikely to go for #3 but I'm not as anti-pg as I was during the first trimester (& know DH would secretly really love lots of DC as he's an only child) but if this one is a boy, we wouldn't have room for a 3rd iyswim. Not sure whether to tandem or side by side, except I do struggle in shops with my current single (Britax 3 b-smart) getting through doors & around aisles, so a side-by-side might be a problem...

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2012 13:40

I went for a side by side as I do not plan to go in many shops, just out and about. I know. I am a freak.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/07/2012 14:26

Glasgow pram centre is good too. Has a ton of prams under one roof and loads more to boot! They have a website too but it's not the best www.pramcentreonline.co.uk

mrswee · 15/07/2012 14:43

YW John lewis edinburgh has a good selection, they have the donkey and baby joggers I think. There is also a pram centre somewhere in edinburgh, possibly livingston centre has a place? worth checking. I WANT THE DONKEY but can't justify it :(

To be fair my DH is mainly being good.. he is after all renovating our new flat and working full time while I lounge around in bed/look after dd which isn't so relaxing. I do have work too but he is still doing more than me.

YellowWellies · 15/07/2012 15:33

Yay for well trained DHs. I have a theory that the best man to bag is a nice one whose last relationship was with a high maintenance nightmare lady - that way they're well trained, considerate (terrified of doing anything wrong!), and can't believe how relaxed they can be with a normal bird. :D

horseylady · 15/07/2012 16:02

Were going for the uppababy vista having looked at that and I candy plus the stokke and the mamas and papas.

I candy fab but they can't guarantee it being here by nov and I think the vista is just as good, it's lighter and cheaper!!

My ponies going to a new home next month :(

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2012 16:24

I am sure you will be sad to see them go horsey but I think you will benefit from the rest, and when baba arrives you may be glad you do not have to do all the hard work that horses entail. Will you get to visit them? Still ride?

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/07/2012 16:27

We are still undecided between uppababy vista, uppababy cruz, babystyle oyster and the mutsy evo!

Such a hard choice!

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2012 16:28

I personally do not like the iCandy range. Not sure if it is the name, the price tag or prettiness. I am more into the rugged types. Bit like my men really.

I am on the lookout for a lightweight double to chuck in the car. Likely off eBay, but will also look in sales.

DonnaDoon · 15/07/2012 16:35

Aaaah home ...been at a football tournament with ds2 all day, was most enjoyable but tiring sitting on a quick seet for 5 hours, at least it didnt rain though. Love the 23 wk baby story...wondering if I will be early this time, have previously give birth at 35, 37, and 38 weeks. Would rather them cooked for longer as has been said.

MissMummy1 · 15/07/2012 16:56

YW there's a pram world shop in kirkcaldy and a mamas and papas outlet and MASSIVE mothercare in livingstone. V V happy to go pram/baby shopping with you one afternoon when you're down :-)

Had a brief look at the next sale when in town sorting out my phone upgrade this morning. It seems what was left was very gender specific - any other team yellowers finding it tricky sticking neutral without being boring or all yellow??

YellowWellies · 15/07/2012 17:02

Woo baby shopping date sounds great, I know Maria is dead up for it too! I'm allowed to take Willow along as a sample baby to try out the buggies with :)

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2012 17:16

Right. Been to Stirling pram centre - Uppababy vista it is.

They suggested I order next month to ensure it is here in time - scary biscuits!!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 15/07/2012 17:24

Afternoon ladies and bumps! Smile

We have done quite a bit of shopping now, DP is awful in shops, everything is "aww this is adorable "
We have a travel system ( petite star kurvie ) and the cot.
Lots of visible kicks here, he kicks anyone who comes into contact at the moment. Smile
I'm tired, and I need to search for a car capable of keeping 3 car seats in. Hmm

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2012 17:30

My mum went to the next sale on my behalf. I asked for three sleepsuits in 0-3 in bright colours. She came back with six, and also two rompers age 3-6 mths. She chose very well, which is a new thing. Very kind, and cheaper than Asda when in the sale.

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/07/2012 17:40

I don't mind getting clothes from asda/ tesco when they're tiny as they hardly last til they've grown out of them.
I prefer next/ h&m/ gap etc when they're older I.e 2 then the clothes last a year.

YellowWellies · 15/07/2012 17:42

That sounds like good advice Desperatehousewife, I'm not buying any clothes for the first year I don't think (other than perhaps a going home outfit if I can be arsed - a bit hard when you don't know the gender) as our lovely sisters are giving us bin bags full!

Chunkychicken · 15/07/2012 18:06

Was it MissMummy talking about gender neutral stuff? I found it was mostly yellow/beige BUT primark was quite good for a bit brighter stuff in neutral. Of course, this was 2 yrs ago, so haven't looked since. Shall be digging DD's stuff out of the loft come Autumn.

Am doing my first proper bit of baby shopping on Tues. Going to another mum's house to buy up her pre-loved & only just-grown-out-of newborn clothes, as I don't remember having many hats etc for DD (being born in April) & layering will be of greater need in November I think - especially if it might be like last Nov!!! I think it's all girly stuff, which is fine as DH thinks s/he is another DD (& he was right with DD) but if s/he's a boy, I've got a loft FULL of girly stuff to clear out, so a few more babygros etc won't matter a jot!!

Still no idea of names. I keep thinking we've got LOADS of time, then consider the 1% or whatever chance that we might not get that long, & would hate to have an argument with DH about it at that stressful time.

Oh and IHeart meant to say, happy to be a reassurance about your ladybits Hmm Grin

My DD's clothes are from all sorts; Asda, Sainsbury, Tesco, Next, M&S. Not really Gap/h&m though. But I usually buy them in the size she needs them, when she needs them, iyswim, because she's always been small (although now perfectly 50th centile) its no good buying things for Autumn now, because she may be in 18-24 or 2-3, depending on the shop & style. If I see something I like, when she has grown out of her old stuff, I get it there & then!! It helps we get loads of hand-me-downs too...

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2012 18:17

I find next last better. Asda clothes are fine but are usually ready to be chucked once outgrown. Most of my stuff is second hand next. I would rather that than new Asda stuff.

horseylady · 15/07/2012 18:20

Only ones going I'm keeping the monster. I've just slipped over gone right smack down, the baby will be ok wont he? Or should we go to a&e just in case with the holiday tomorrow? I don't want to go btw!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/07/2012 18:22

Ds is mostly still in 18-24 but he'll fit in 2-3 tops. The jeans for 2-3 are enormous though! They always make trousers way too long in every size I've found.

YellowWellies · 15/07/2012 18:27

Horsey how did you land? If you didn't land on the bump looking at the midwifes on here the general consensus is you'll both be ok. If worried - well you know where to go hon. No point ruining a holiday xx

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2012 18:36

Depends how you landed. My fall was really quite bad, but did not bang my bump at all. My toes are all black today, and bruising Is all way round the foot and heading up my leg. If you are rhesus whatever it is, you could do with an anti -D injection. If you will worry yourself silly, get it checked.

horseylady · 15/07/2012 18:37

I landed knees then bum. I think I'm ok. Think I'll get a drink then get in the bath. I cab feel him wriggling so hopefully ok. I feel really sore though? I don't usually after falling over (not that I ever make a habit of it!!) guess it's all the relaxing stuff going off.

I'm so annoyed!!! I'm going away with scabby knees!!

I might call the mw number just in case see what they suggest.
