Hi! I'm 9 wks with DC2, is it ok to join you? Xx

orangewellies · 18/07/2012 16:37

Hi mummy of course, come on in! How are you feeling? Although most people seem to be over on facebook these days so its a bit quiet here Sad

I guess there must be some scans going on for those due in early Feb? Come on back and let us know how they have gone? Would love to hear about them whilst i'm waiting for mine!

The mw wrote to me today to say that half the blood taken at my booking in appointment was lost (or spilt or something) as well as my urine sample so the lab didn't do half of the screening tests required and i've got to go and have more taken. I'm not too impressed with that as i don't like giving blood anyway...grrrr Angry

Pinkie29 · 18/07/2012 17:31

Strangely I think if there's distance then there's nothing wrong with a phone call, you could drop into conversation you didnt know when you'd see them next do wanted to tell them? I told my mum over the phone in a moment of panic, dp was at work and I was cramping badly and really anxious and she only lives 10 miles away!

Now I just feel sick and tired alllll the time! Scan two weeks today!!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 18/07/2012 17:51

strangely no, I think its fine. Both my previous pregnancies I told my mum on the phone and Dh's parents in person. This time, as long as everything goes well tomorrow, we will be telling everyone on the phone.

Hi mummy and welcome. How are you feeling and how old is your dc?

pinkie not long until your scan! How many weeks will you be?

I can't stop eating at the moment and hate it, but I'm so lacking in energy and feeling so sick all the time, its the only thing that helps.

morecoffeemorecoffee · 18/07/2012 17:52

Ooops, posted too soon. orange when's your scan? I have mine tomorrow. So excited!

Mummyplusone · 18/07/2012 18:17

Hi morecoffee!
My Dd is 5 going on 18! I'm feeling much better than I thought I would with dd1 I was soooo sick, this time I'm starving and exhausted, I expected to have terrible morninging sickness again, and because I hadn't I convinced myself something was wrong , luckily we had a scan at 7 wks and everything was fine!
X

morecoffeemorecoffee · 18/07/2012 18:28

Glad you're not suffering too badly mummy :) I have 2 dc, ds1 is 6 and ds2 is 4 so similar ages to your dd. I'm finding it difficult having the energy to play etc with them. School summer hols start on Monday, eek!

I'm feeling Crap at the moment, tired, no energy, house is a mess :( I've asked Dh to take the dc out for the day on Saturday so I can blitz the house ready to cope with the summer hols.

orangewellies · 18/07/2012 18:30

not til 3rd Aug - counting the days! how exciting morecoffee is this your 12 week one or an early?

woody how are things - did you have another scan today?

morecoffeemorecoffee · 18/07/2012 18:46

Ooo, not long then orange. This is the 12wk scan but I'm only about 9+4 I think. Stupid long cycles, so I'm looking forward to finding out how far along I am (and hoping they put my dates forward, not back!)

Mummyplusone · 18/07/2012 18:47

Morecoffee, mine is the same! I blitzed mine today while Dd was off with a sickness bug Envy yeah I'm feeling ok in compassion to when I was preg with. Dd1, the exhaustion is something else though! Never known tiredness like it! And on the 3rd aug I'm going on a 12 HR flight with just me and dd1 I must be crazy!! Grin xx

Pinkie29 · 18/07/2012 21:09

coffee it's on August 1st two weeks today, can't wait feels like we've been waiting forever!! I'll be 12+4 when we have the scan, think that's when it will finally sink in atm I just feel rubbish and a bit down, dp constant back shift so just me and the cat at home Sad Wish I could eat properly my daily diet is cereal, sandwich and crisps followed by super noodles! Can't face cooking anything else

bopfactory · 18/07/2012 21:57

Evening all , just checking in as haven't done so for a while... still waiting for a scan appointment, think I'm 10 weeks tomorrow so they won't be giving me much notice! Might chase it up. Had an awful week here with sickness bug, I got it first and assumed it was MS but then DH and all three DCs succumbed... as you can imagine clearing up after all that lot really helped my nausea Hmm
All better now though, well apart from me cos I have just returned to the usual level of feeling sick! Have just consumed half a packet of water biscuits with cheese, why??? Like Pinkie I just can't seem to face 'proper' food!

woody17 · 18/07/2012 22:03

Hi yes I had my scan. Unfortunately it showed that I'd miscarried. Feel very upset at the moment.

Hope you are all well and wishing you all the best.

Take care x

morecoffeemorecoffee · 18/07/2012 22:15

Oh woody, I'm so sorry that that has happened. Thinking of you. Take care x

StrangelyCalm · 18/07/2012 22:45

That's awful news Woody - really sorry to hear that. How crap. Big cyber hugs your way x

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 18/07/2012 22:49

So sorry woody thinking of you xx

FidgetPie · 18/07/2012 23:03

Oh woody I am so very sorry to hear that - sending you best wishes xx

FidgetPie · 18/07/2012 23:06

Welcome mummy - I am due at the end of Feb and have a 2YO DD.

strangely - I think it is fine to tell parents over the phone - ideally I would have done it in person but both times we have told my MIL in person and my parents by phone - we told the parents when I was 4 weeks as rubbish at secrets!

queenrollo · 19/07/2012 07:16

well after a few days of feeling so much better I feel like rubbish again. Yesterday was awful, you know when you haven't eaten for ages and you get the low blood sugar shakes and just feel odd? well I felt like that ALL day. This morning I woke when DH was getting ready for work (at 5.50am!) and have been up since then because I felt too nauseous to go back to sleep.

woody so very sorry to hear your news Sad

orangewellies · 19/07/2012 09:39

woody really sorry to hear that, was hoping it would be good news for you, take care of yourself Sad

InchyInchy · 19/07/2012 13:22

Hello ladies - I'm another one due in Feb :D the 11th.

I can't wait to get out of this first trimester and despite nearing 11 weeks still no scan date.

morecoffeemorecoffee · 19/07/2012 14:35

Hi everyone! Had my scan today and all is looking good in there! I'm 9+4 so only a day less than I thought I was. Due date 17th of Feb. Scan was great. We saw its little heart beating away and its little feet kicking around. Very happy all is well and now looking forward to the next scan in 10th weeks time! :)

TheSkiingGardener · 19/07/2012 14:49

Hello again,

Sorry I've dropped off the radar completely the last week or so. Real life was a bit busy. I'm still waiting for a scan date or a midwife appointment date, but I'm amazed at how much more relaxed I am now it's my second. Still excited, but not as anxious at the moment.

The only side effect I have so far is a need for a midday nap every day. Fortunately my 2 year old DS still naps but it means I've lost all my housework and chilling out time in the day. I'm hoping it will pass soon.

Right, I'll have a scan back through the thread and catch up on everyone's news

LookAtHerGo · 19/07/2012 15:15

Hi, well I've had my scan. It would appear there are 2 babies growing in me!

Got another scan next week for a more accurate dating.

Glad we've had a few scans recently that are all ok. And congrats to the new arrivals in here.

queenrollo · 19/07/2012 16:27

Twins!!! oooo how did you react?

great news all of you having scans Smile

has anyone thought about the triple test/testing for downs? I refused it with DS but as I'm nearly 37 I think my midwife will push for it this time, but i'm not keen to have it.
