Hi everyone Hope you are all well. I've had a pretty rubbish weekend. After the incredible experience of seeing the heartbeat on Friday (and being told that this usually means that everything will be fine) I started bleeding and passing clots on Saturday and having cramps. Ended up in hospital yesterday - internal exam showed cervix was still closed and the blood wasn't streaming or trickling, apparently these are good signs. After two internal scans by two different people, they said that the baby had grown since Friday and although they couldn't find a heartbeat, this could be because everything is so small and the scanner they have isn't as sensitive etc as the one in epu. So I have to go to epu on Wednesday. I just really hope that everything is ok.

orangewellies · 16/07/2012 10:20

morning everyone, not much to report here - told family at the weekend which makes it seem a bit more real, they are all v excited.

woody so sorry to hear you're going through that, it must be so worrying, but sounds positive if the cervix is closed. Fingers crossed for you.

Trying to hold off moving into mat clothes just yet, but am struggling with trousers. Am actually a bit thankful our summer is so sh** this year as at least i can wear a couple of layes which helps to hide things!

woody17 · 16/07/2012 11:29

I hope so. Wednesday seems like a long time to wait.

That must be really exciting telling family orangewellies

morecoffeemorecoffee · 16/07/2012 12:14

woody must be very worrying for you, but the mobile scanners are less sensitive and its a good sign that the cervix is closed. Thinking of you and hope you have good news on Wednesday x

morecoffeemorecoffee · 16/07/2012 12:17

Had a call from hospital. They've brought my scan forward a day to Thursday instead of Friday. Symptoms returned with a vengeance after my panic last week. Looking forward to seeing what's going on in there now!

WhatWillSantaBring · 16/07/2012 12:33

Another one whose symptoms have returned - I have never been happier to be feeling sick :-) particularly after the mw looked really concerned when I said my nausea had vanished.

Sorry to hear about the worry woody fingers crossed that its all ok and sorry especially to hear that you have to wait till Wednesday. If you don't want to wait, have you checked out the EPAU at neighbouring trusts? One hospital near us does self-referrals (i.e. you just show up), the other requires a GP referral.

Don't mean to sound negative, but you may be quite disappointed if you don't like the H&M maternity range - its one of the better cheap ones. Mamas and Papas stuff looks good but really varies in size (I was a 10 in some styles, and a 16 in others), JoJo is OK too (apart from the knitwear, which is crap quality IMHO). All the really nice stuff is really expensive!

LookAtHerGo · 16/07/2012 14:46

Sorry, I've not really been keeping up with things. I have my scan on Thursday, and I'm counting down the hours, it's just suck a long wait! Even though I have a LO to keep me occupied. Trying to fill my days in but I'm quite tired and lacking motivation.

Puking started on Saturday again and been sick sat, sun and this morning. Think cereal doesn't agree with me, it didn't last time. And I puked after a bath last night :(

I've just had a bagel with hummus and anchovies!!!! It was really yummy though. I'm loving strong flavours and gone off a lot of sweeter stuff, the biscuit tin is on the whole being left alone.

Roll on Thursday.

StrangelyCalm · 16/07/2012 16:49

Fingers crossed for you Woody. It's a nightmare isn't it? You worry if you do have symptoms, worry if you don't...? Being the first one, I wonder if every little twinge is normal! My 12 week scan is a week today, and I've been really exhausted this week. Just feel I could sleep all the time, but have to work.

I still recommend the stretchy black trousers from Sainsbury's - best thing ever bought! Will start to investigate maternity clothes after the scan (paranoid).

Right, I'm going back to bed!

FidgetPie · 16/07/2012 19:08

Having felt pretty perky up to now, I now feel exhausted. Luckily I am working from home 2 days this week, but my gosh it is only Monday and I am knackered!

Fortunately I am working at home a lot over the next month (have a 2.5 hour round trip into the office) so that saves me lots of travel time.

Early to bed for me tonight!

woody - I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for you

CalamityJ · 16/07/2012 20:19

I've got my first scan on Saturday. Obviously couldn't be more excited!!! But I have no idea what to expect & apart from filling in the green notes I've not been told anything. What should I do beforehand & what should I expect when I'm there. What should I wear???

CalamityJ · 16/07/2012 20:25

Strangely Calm I loved Sainsburys own sparkling non alcoholic wine. Looks just like real champagne & very drinkable!

Pinkie29 · 16/07/2012 20:50

Fx for you woody hope your ok xx

I had a look on the New Look website earlier and they have some much better stuff than H&M saw some work trousers for £12 and some lovely tops. I've got a few weddings in October and want a nice dress to show off my little bump will be 5 months then but think I'm best waiting till nearer the time as not sure how big I'll be

Pinkie29 · 16/07/2012 20:53

Will be looming out for that drink calamity Smile I was naughty on sat and had half a Guinness :/ had wobbly legs after! still feeling sick a lot of the time but trying to eat still as it eases it

dreamydays · 16/07/2012 21:42

Hi morecoffee - good luck on Thursday!

(I can't resist lurking occasionally. I'm often thinking of you guys in the facebook group and hoping you're all doing well.)

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 16/07/2012 22:25

How have you been dreamy??

FidgetPie · 16/07/2012 22:40

It is lovely to hear from you dreamy - hope you are doing ok xx

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/07/2012 06:17

strangly do you have a link for those trousers? I'm heading to sainsburys later!

Thanks dreamy how are you? Hope you are recovering xx

I've been awake since 5am AGAIN! will no doubt be shattered later.

Want2bSupermum · 17/07/2012 10:53

Link to Pea in the Pod. I only buy on sale as it is expensive. Watch out for dry clean only. I managed to get everything that was machine washable.

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/07/2012 11:48

I have been to sainsburys and bought some fab trousers! They must be the same as yours strangely . They are so comfy! I highly recommend them also! :)

StrangelyCalm · 17/07/2012 13:18

Can't find a link for those trousers (am I being dense? - couldn't find normal TU clothes on their website, just the Gok stuff). Had an awful day yesterday tryng to fit back into old trousers while my comfy ones were in the wash!!

dreamydays · 17/07/2012 13:21

I am ok thanks pickles, fidget, morecoffee and it's great to hear from you!

My take on it is that it's like a game of snakes and ladders: this time I got the 6 you need to start and got a bit along the board before I slid back down. Better than not starting at all! Of course there have been teary moments but overall I'm upbeat. My dr is v positive about trying again and I've got the rumoured post-mc fertile period just around the corner :)

In the meantime all my clothes fit again and I've just had a delicious lunch with pate and soft cheese, yum!

Anyway enough from a non-pg person. Very best wishes to all of you - I do miss you lovely ladies on the fb group and hope you're having a lot of fun over there. xx

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 17/07/2012 13:58

Glad your getting through ok dreamy... Keep in touch x

Pinkie29 · 17/07/2012 15:22

Glad to hear your doing well dreamy xx

morecoffeemorecoffee · 17/07/2012 16:11

So glad you're doing ok dreamy and with such a positive attitude! I do believe in the post mc fertile period. I had a chem pregnancy in April and got pregnant with this little bean the following cycle. Keeping everything crossed for you xx

StrangelyCalm · 18/07/2012 13:54

Question: Is it bad form to tell one set of parents face to face and the others over the phone? One set visiting anyway this weekend, but can't think of a plausable reason to force the others to drive for four hours to specifically be here this weekend (can't wait any longer to tell people, and have to tell parents first, of course).

Thoughts anyone?
