sunday I don't feel like i'm having many symptoms other than weird pains no one else seems to get - I'm hoping we are all different and it's nothing to worry about!

My doctor did nothing and when everyone was talking about MW appointments I rang my doctors and they said i get nothing until my 12 week scan, but then out of the blue i got a text from the hospital reminding me of a MW appointment I was never told about! So perhaps your hospital will get in contact with you about a MW appointment too.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 03/07/2012 15:00

Any sign of twins sbc?

somethingwittynot · 03/07/2012 16:35

im pretty symptomless to!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 03/07/2012 16:57

"Just" a singleton for me! Kind of relieved, really don't think DH would cope with 2 and we have very little family locally that can help us so I need to be able to manage alone.
My mw didn't contact me, I had to hound them - I suggest calling your local mw office and ask when you'll get an appt - the response I got was that the local one was on leave, short staffed blah blah - so hound them and you should at least get an appt, even if not for a few weeks. They did say that if I had any questions I could call them any time beforehand. Tbh there's no point seeing you too early as there's nothing they can do early on other than tell you to take folic acid!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 03/07/2012 16:59

Other than sore boobs I don't have much in the way of symptoms - I'm sleeping a lot during day, but I've always been a bit of an afternoon napper!

StrangelyCalm · 03/07/2012 20:18

Hello Ladies - can I join your group please? New to this and not sure of lingo etc but will give it a go. I'm very unexpectedly 9 weeks pg with first one - had 2 BFPs only last week. DH delighted - we're both thrilled but very surprised as no contraception for nearly 5 years - had given up hope! First MW apt tomorrow and scan the following week (which is a bit early for 12 weeks - is that normal?). Please, someone reassure me that I'm not the only one to do everything you're not supposed to in the first few weeks - I had no idea I was pregnant until a couple of weeks ago - no symptoms, no sickness!

LookAtHerGo · 03/07/2012 20:45

Glad the scan was good crazed that's great news.

Welcome strangelycalm

I had horrendous sickness with DD(was actually HG) and I was dreading it this time, so far I'm only feeling nauseous when I'm hungry, or if I brush my tongue! It's kind of weird. I'm hoping everything is ok, I kind of associate feeling pregnant with being sick, so I don't really feel pregnant, and I hope just because I don't feel ill that it's nothing to worry about. That's crazy I know, I know every pregnancy is different, just 2 weeks on Thursday for the scan to check. I do not want to feel sick, but I really want to know everything is ok. Sorry for the slightly weird post. I'm sure I'm not the only one worrying.

Btw is anyone else still bf their other children? I'm still bf DD, including night feeds!

haloflo · 03/07/2012 21:17

lookathergo I am still bf DD 15 months. how old is your DD? how are you finding it? i feel my supply is low and am v sore.

Off topic but turn back time on bbc 1 now is in my home town!

LookAtHerGo · 03/07/2012 21:33

halo she's almost 10months. I've just started introducing a bit of formula in the day, but I'm feeding her about 6 times altogether still! Last week she had a stomach upset, so only had bf for a few days, that was hard work. I have sore nipples occasionally, realised I had a blocked nipple pore or something like that, sorted that and it's much better. But I'm constantly hungry, and not sure of my supply anymore. It's weird to think of your body preparing food for one baby and growing another. I think it's contributing to me feeling very knackered and a bit crabby as a result early nights (just about to go to bed now) and afternoon naps when LO does if I can are helping. Aah, the tv is off and I'm in the other room. Hope you found it interesting.

haloflo · 03/07/2012 21:50

Aww fingers crossed for a good night. I feed about 4 times a day. Evening, at least twice at night and morning. Its hard to know which baby im growing is tiring me out. Also very hungry too!

do you plan on weaning? good luck with formula.

LookAtHerGo · 04/07/2012 00:22

No plans to wean fully yet, the formula is partly so I get a little bit of rest from it and partly so I don't have to express for when I'm back at work, I'm back soon and have 2 weeks full time to do and then I'm only working evenings. So it makes it easier if she's used to formula for my DP to feed her. I'll look at weaning when she's 12 months, but until then it's good. Grin

AuroraOrtiz · 04/07/2012 12:28

I read somewhere that morning sickness is a sign you are having a girl! Will be interesting to test this theory in Feb!

dreamydays · 04/07/2012 13:09

strangelycalm welcome and congratulations! 5 years is a long time! Do join the secret Facebook group too.

dreamydays · 04/07/2012 13:10

aurora - I had relatively little sickness last time and had a girl

WhatWillSantaBring · 04/07/2012 14:09

I'm the opposite - with DD I had only nausea which went away totally as long as I was wearing seabands, but now I'm feeing utterly vile. Spent three hours awake between 2 and 5am trying to not be sick. I am not looking forward to my holiday as a result - checked the insurance policy and it only covers cancellation if I have HG (which I don't, thank goodness) so I might as well go.

So, who wants to know the sex and who wants a surprise? I'm in two minds - loved the surprise last time but this time I feel more of a need to know!

carries · 04/07/2012 17:45

I'm functioning at a "must do" level this week. My DDs are on summer holiday now & are booked in for swimming lessons each morning this week. I've managed to take them in for a fun session too & then out for lunch. But by 1pm I'm seriously shattered & have slept for 3 hours past 2 afternoons. I'd forgotten how tired one gets while pregnant! The nausea is bad but at least I'm not vomiting :).

carries · 04/07/2012 17:53

whatwillsantabring not going to find out sex, I love the surprise. I've nothing left from previous 2 babies so will be buying from scratch, again.

orangewellies · 04/07/2012 18:24

aurora i have had sickness (nausea) with both of my pregs and had a DD then a DS, but the sickness for DS started earlier and finished later than with DD! It didn't start until 6 weeks this time so at the moment i'm guessing a girl! I won't find out though, I love the surprise and keeping the anticipation until the end!

Pinkie29 · 04/07/2012 19:17

I'd love a little girl Smile all pretty in pink! We decided even before we were pg not to find out the sex so roll on feb!

FidgetPie · 04/07/2012 21:01

I think we will find out the sex - we did last time with DD as we were convinced it was a girl and wanted to check. We aren't bothered / don't have an opinion either way this time, but for practical reasons I think we'll find out (we have 8 boxes of DD's clothes I will get rid of if it is a boy!)

StrangelyCalm · 05/07/2012 00:08

I think we'll find out the sex - then we know which friends to beg ask for hand-me-downs - that's the one advantage of being a couple of years behind everyone else! I'm going to need lots of tips on how to find good cheap bargains...

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 05/07/2012 08:29

I will, I have lots of boy clothes. I'll probably use a lot of it for a girl just put some of the more butch things aside.

somethingwittynot · 05/07/2012 08:52

not finding out the sex here though apparntly you can get gender predicition strips you pee on. Grin

were re using some of DS nutral stuff but mainly buying new.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 05/07/2012 08:54

Whoa! Gender prediction strips??

queenrollo · 05/07/2012 09:16

I won't find out the sex, i like the element of surprise. I have nothing at all saved for a baby but a friend is packing up loads of newborn stuff for me as she had a baby in March and she was given loads. I don't intend to buy much new stuff, and certainly won't be falling into the trap this time of buying all those things they tell you that you 'need' for a baby.
