yeah though you would get the same effect from pissing on litmus paper. there just PH strips. apparntly if your piss is accidic its a girl and alkaline is a boy.

Pinkie29 · 05/07/2012 11:57

If its a girl I'm sorted I know so many ppl who've had girls recently Smile we're only buying essentials at first and lots of neutrals sleep suits vests etc, no point even setting up the cot as baby will be 2 months when we move. A few weeks afterwards I'll be out spending a fortune on pinks or blues!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 05/07/2012 12:01

Everyone told me don't buy newborn stuff you won't need it but ds was in it ages! I want to buy as little as possible but won't be able to resist with girls things if it's a girl. If its a boy I won't need hardly anything, have loads of nice things from ds all packed away. If its twins they will be wearing clothes fashioned from bin liners.

somethingwittynot · 05/07/2012 17:18

my DS was in tiny baby and newborn for ages! were going proper shopping after the baby is here!

StrangelyCalm · 06/07/2012 15:49

I am on day two of an absolutely stinking cold and sore throat. Any tips on what I should/shouldn't take?

SundaySunshine · 06/07/2012 16:06

Hi all,
Sad news from me I'm afraid. Started light bleeding yesterday, still bleeding this morning so I went to the EPU and they did an internal scan but couldn't find heartbeat. I was 9 weeks, so should have been there. So upset, DH is at work at his new job today so I haven't told him yet. Thank goodness I didn't tell anyone else; I lost my brother last year and my family haven't really come to terms with it yet, so I'm glad I'm not having to give them more bad news.

I would be really greatful if someone could take me off the stats thread.

Good luck to everyone else, hope your scans go ok, best wishes.

Sunday - so sorry to hear your news. :( Hope DH is with you now.

Am going through something similar today, at 8 weeks - have been posting in the secret Facebook group, essentially I haven't had confirmation yet but am becoming quite sure - so hugs from me at this v sad time.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 06/07/2012 21:11

sazzababs · 06/07/2012 21:38

Awww... That's so rubbish :( I'm 9 weeks today and still on tenterhooks... Look after yourselves... I've also messaged to be on the secret Fakebook :) SC in wedding gear :)

sazzababs · 06/07/2012 21:38

Actually nae SC, I'm sazzamook on FB

StrangelyCalm · 06/07/2012 22:24

That's such sad news today, big cyber-hugs to you both. I think I'm 9 weeks too sazza, so also now just hoping everything's ok, as absolutely no symptoms for past few days. Dating scan on Monday - everything crossed (well, not everything obviously...!)

carries · 06/07/2012 22:47

So sorry dreamy & sunday. That's hard, sad news.

carries · 06/07/2012 22:53

So 2 days ago I was grateful that I had no vomiting just nausea, well vomiting kicked in this am! However, felt better this evening than I've felt in 2 weeks. Still tired & horrible taste in my mouth but less nausea :)

Had 8 week "check in" midwife appt yesterday. She took my BP & medical history. Gave me my notes, "ready, steady, baby" book & 2 x pee pots. Will have a full booking in appt with same team of mw up at hospital midwife unit at 10 weeks, dating scan at 12 week & a further 20 week scan. Feels official now. But still on tender hooks as still get odd period pain cramping on/off esp in evenings.

sazzababs · 06/07/2012 23:39

I had my booking appt on Wed too! Had bloods taken and peed in a pot (nae sticks involved this time tho hahaha!), and scan on 30th. Also got my notes and a feck-ton of marketing baby keech! :D

I also have a further midwife appt booked and one with a consultant... I have kidney issues and the man-wife has a history of heart defects... It's in my notes already about the 'consultant unit' for birthing, so I assume that's the home birth or midwife led unit oot the window :( Never mind! I suppose I'll just need to see how it goes, but already having kidney issues! Bah! Still sore boobies but the spewing seems to calmed down a bit now... Think I'm being a bit better with times/things I'm eating, but it's hard with my job... I work in social work with vulnerable adults which involves LOOOOOONG shifts (on a 24 hour just now till 2ish tomorrah :/), so it's difficult when it comes to proper meal times and food prep!

AuroraOrtiz · 07/07/2012 02:37

Arghh it's 2.30am and my idiot wanker neighbour has been keeping me awake all night with his music. I hate him!!! I have to move or I'll be in jail for murder before I have this baby!!! Sorry, just had to let off steam somehow!! Arghhhh!!!!
