sazza my manager was fantastic. I told my whole team (all three of them) to minimise any resentment. They've been great! Really taken an interest and very pleased for me. HR will put the brakes on as soon as I notify them - I will only be 6-7 weeks but its for the best.

I'm sorry you're having such a bad time Backpack, sounds exhausting.

Pinkie29 · 24/06/2012 20:40

backpack my friend had awful sickness last year she could barely keep water down, even when she was admitted to hospital they assured her it is very common and were only taking her in to rehydrate her, some people just react differently to the pregnancy hormones, few days later she was out feeling much better and after the first trimester she had a hassle free pregnancy Smile

dreamydays · 24/06/2012 21:27

queen, backpack sorry you're feeling so rough. Someone mentioned green apples - apples were the one food that reliably made me heave within about 10 mins during my last pregnancy!

I'm with all you folk who aren't sleeping - managed abut 3 hours last night - glad it's not just me!

I'm also in the crowd craving greasy salty food. Had to stop for a big bacon/HP sauce sarnie 2 hours after breakfast this morning.

Btw, anyone else taking progesterone supplements (on prescription obviously)?

LittleMissSnowShine · 24/06/2012 21:38

Also sleeping a bit restlessly and DS has habit of getting up at crack of dawn so going to try and have lights off in an hour from now, just got to go and pack our bags for the morning.

Something - Yes, heartburn! No nausea, but heartburn! Strange!

Eric - Yep, great name Grin. I haven't been testing, tho i'm tempted, i'm only seeing my GP this Thurs and I'll be 6 weeks by then - hate flipping waiting! Anyway, a line is a line is a line. If you got two BFPs then I'd say it's pretty def that you're preg, esp if there's no sign of AF! But, in saying that, I got a BFP from a digi blue at 4 weeks with 11am wee, so if you think you're nearly 5 weeks and it's not showing up positive i guess it's possible ur not as far along as u think? Maybe you OV a bit late? I guess u could wait a few days and take another test to put your mind at rest?

Dreamydays, I'm on crinone. Bit grim and adds symptoms, I'll be on it until 12 weeks. Are you having problems?

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 24/06/2012 22:16

I had heartburn so bad last time I had huge bottles of gaviscon in every bag and drank it from the bottle. Sure it didn't start till later but I had a bit yesterday.

It's an old wives tale that you'll have a baby with plenty of hair (ds was a bit hairy)

QueenOfTheDrama · 24/06/2012 22:38

Thanks for the sympathy girls Smile Still feeling rough, managed to keep some food down this evening but have ever since I constantly feel like its about to come back up. Absolutely dreading getting up for work in the morning Sad

eric sorry to hear about your confusion re tests - I agree with littlemiss - maybe you ov late? Try again with fmu? Hope you get a better result then.

TheSkiingGardener · 25/06/2012 06:40

Oh QueenOTD and backpack that sounds rough. Hopefully it will pass and soon.

So far I haven't had morning sickness, but it kicked in a little later than this last time. I am definitely craving lots of food though, had 2 roast dinners yesterday. It's so odd how it affects everyone so differently.

And I will join your Facebook group, what's it called? Not something that's going to tell everyone I'm pg?

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 25/06/2012 07:44

Hi skiing no its private, if you click on the link under bean and make friends with her she can add you in.

It's totally safeGrin

TheSkiingGardener · 25/06/2012 08:22

Ok, done that then. Should have put a note it it saying who I was!

carries · 25/06/2012 08:37

I'm feeling less sorry for myself Queen and backpack, had a rough weekend with nausea which feels better when I'm eating and feeling weak & faint if in my feet for more than 30 mins. Hope you guys feel better soon.

Welcome to all newbies too, I can't keep up the rate of post :)

I'm wanting to eat proper dinners with spuds! And lots of fruit. Completely off dairy & greasy food & chocolate & tea. Most fluids are tasting manky cos of the taste in my mouth but forcing water down.

Re facebook, is it automatically a private group or do I need to change settings?

BeanDunne · 25/06/2012 08:58

I have made it a secret group so just sit back and enjoy :)

QueenOfTheDrama · 25/06/2012 09:14

bean I'll add you later, haven't had chance to yet.

I've been sick 4 times so far this morning. Feel weak and light headed. Have had to tell people in work that I ate something dodgy over weekend and that both me & DH have felt rough ever since. Feel like asking to go home early but I can't do that every day can I? Sad

somethingwittynot · 25/06/2012 10:13

nearly had sickness last night! was hovering over the toilet heaving but nothing would come out! ive got a massive thing going for fanta and pringles at the moment.

still exhausted but am happy my icandy is going to its new home today!

queenrollo · 25/06/2012 10:37

blergh - constant nausea here again today....

EricNorthmansFangBanger · 25/06/2012 10:39

Thanks for the replies ladies - ignore my neurotic self!

I tested with the digital test I had left out of the pack this morning and got a pregnant 1 - 2. You would think this being number 3 that I would learn to not be so eager beaver about testing!

I'm guessing that I'm a week behind where I thought I was then, though my last cycle was only 28 days and all the others before that were 35. Have rang my GP and got an appointment to see the midwife on 5th July. Been having dry mouth and nausea as my main symptoms.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough Queen, Backpack and something

somethingwittynot · 25/06/2012 10:50

eric thanks! ive got the dry mouth thing to! also had that with DS

QueenOfTheDrama · 25/06/2012 11:37

Great to hear you got your digi bfp today eric Smile

I'm really thirsty all the time too but today whatever I'm drinking is coming straight back up again! Work think I have a stomach bug and I'm going to be going home after doing a half day. Can't do this every day though so no idea what my excuse will be tomorrow!

Pinkie29 · 25/06/2012 12:22

I can barely move for feeling sick Sad had to call into work this morning and explain to my boss, terrible headache too

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 25/06/2012 12:37

Quick update, bled on and off all day but not as much as the 'two pads' amount that someone mentioned on here yesterday. Got MW appt thursday so if it doesnt get worse will wait until then. Am a bit of an emotional wreck to be honest at the moment, but easier to get stuck into work etc rather than dwell, and if it is bad news, then nothing i can do is there?

Hope you are all well, sorry some of you guys are so sick, just remember, this too shall pass

Mollusk · 25/06/2012 13:26

bean, you'll shortly get a FB request from me!

WhatWillSantaBring · 25/06/2012 13:53

Sorry, too busy at weekends to post -have to wait till the peace and quiet of the office!

Sea bands - available at any chemist. Designed for travel sickness (in the travel section at Boots, next to the flight socks etc) and also worked amazingly for morning sickness for me. You have to be precise about where the pressure point goes though. Definitely worth trying if you're feeling sick.

Underwired bras (something I feel passionately about). The reason they're generaly avoided is because so many people where the wrong size. (M&S bra fitters - hang your heads in shame). Go to a proper shop (eg Bravissimo if you're above a D cup) and get fitted and you'll be happy in underwired bras throughout pregnancy. Bravissimo confirmed their advice with the RCM. My boobs went up a gazillion cup sizes in the first ten weeks (5, to be precise) so I will have to drag them out again.

And my top tip for an excuse for all the doctor's appointments... women's problems. (If pressed, you can say that the first appt is a smear, the second is a repeat smear because the first wasn't an adequate sample, the third is a colposcopy because it was an abnormal result etc etc. Female colleagues will smile sympathetically, male colleagues will be so freaked out that they won't ask for any more details Grin.

QoD - I think you're supposed to see the doctors if you throw up more than three times a day and/or can't keep fluid down as they want to make sure you stay hydrated. If you have really bad sickness, then its probably worth telling your manager and HR because they have a duty to look after you. They also HAVE to keep it confidential, so you shouldn't be outed to everyone at work.

Also have a DC and feeling guilty that she's not going to get the same attention she does now, but then I think the gift of a sister or brother is priceless to them in the long run. And it means I'll get to spend more time with her when I'm on ML again :) - already trying to plan how to make sure she gets quality one to one time with me after the baby arrives.
