Oh no Ses :( hope that isnt too much hassle for you. What is the nursery exclusion policy?

We found ours really good. It was 5 days from 1st spot, so we got it on a friday and were back in by the following Wednesday.

Fingers crossed DD doesnt get it.

Work is ok thanks- I've actually had positive day or so of realising I do love my job so will try and be stronger with my boss.TBH I can see light at the end of the tunnel now so i hope to stay positive. Just need to finalise the date I go on leave! More of a challenge than it should be!

Also, SPD has (touch wood) appeared to have settled and isnt getting worse just now. Hope it stays the same.

BB- any GTT update?

BBwolefs · 09/08/2012 18:35

Tink glad work ok!

Ses boo for pox DS had them in Dec bicarb / salt baths piriton and calpol helped him, hope O doesn't suffer too bad.

Ginger no call yet (which I suppose is a good thing) but had a definitely diabetic-ish turn today so i think it will be present weather that is now or later though who knows!

Ive bought a few bits now eek, and we are doing the bedroom this weekend, have kept the reciepts though incase scan was wrong hehe! Am really hoping it wasn't though as going through all of DS bits made me realise what nice and relatively unworn things he had!! Grin

BBwolefs · 09/08/2012 18:35

Ohh also ginger good news on work
And even better on SPD!

Gingerbreadlatte · 10/08/2012 07:37

Hi

Ses- how is DS today? When DD had it she wasnt ill at all - meant keeping her at home was easier..

BB- shopping and sorting sounds good. Keeping reciepts is also a good idea!

We are (DH) is planning to repaint our small bedroom this weekend too. :) I really need to crack on and buy some bits now. Need to get the newborn box out of the loft etc. I think most of that is plain white. :)

Hi everyone

SESthebrave · 10/08/2012 08:34

Morning!

DS is v poxy - at least 150, including all round his groin, on his torso and about 25 on his face. He's staring to scratch and so I've started the cream and piriton. He is fine in himself though (currently jumping off the sofa) and at least it's a nice day.
Policy at nursery is that he can go back when the last spot has scabbed over.

Ginger - glad the SPD has settled and no worse. Great that work a bit more positive too. Do you have a date for finishing?

BB - hope GD doesn't cause you many problems.

How lovely for you both to be sorting out all the things for the new baby. I'm just packing away all DD's newborn stuff! Pleased that I'm not feeling sad about it. Just trying to work out what to do with it all. Some of it's in very good condition so wondering about a NCT sale or eBay or a car boot. Same with my maternity clothes. Any thoughts?

Hello tink - hope you're having a good time with DD2.

McKayz · 10/08/2012 08:39

Ses, the boys had porridge baths. I was told about it on MN. You put porridge oats in old tights and then put it in the bath.
I hope he doesn't get it too badly.

BBwolefs · 10/08/2012 15:30

Hi all

GTT came back normal so another test in oct, mentioned to my MW about feeling very off she has recommended doing my blood sugars and if they deteriorate then call and get test brought forward.

ses poor DS that sounds awful! I would definitely sell what you can, im
Ebay-ing and selling things we dont need at the moment, or passing on to friends where possible.

We have all our DIY supplies at the ready for tomorrow, am planning a trip to my beloved favourite place ikea soon as need to get furniture. Just want the room
Tidy now haha!

Hope everyone os enjoying the sunshine!

SESthebrave · 11/08/2012 09:55

When shall I wake DH up? Wink

We resorted to him sleeping in the spare room with DS last night as DS kept crying in his sleep. I think it was the itching, poor boy. I had DD who woke every 2hrs last night, including 2.30am with an exploded nappy. I think she's having a growth spurt as she's been feeding loads too. DS woke just before 7am and came into me. DH announced he hadn't slept much and was going back to bed. He's been there ever since and it's now 9.50am.

DS and I are currently still in PJs in front of the tv so fairly chilled. Might just wait and see how long DH will sleep for.

DS has even more spots but some of the early ones are scabbing now.

Oh, I hear movement from DH!

Gingerbreadlatte · 11/08/2012 13:35

Wow sorry for the bad night Ses!

I hope you took your turn to go back to bed immediately after DH got up ! Wink

Hope DS is ok today.

DH and DD are currently painting the nursery Grin Grin . I've been sitting on the stairs listening to them chat and DDs running commentary. Made me really Grin

Gingerbreadlatte · 11/08/2012 13:36

Bb glad the GTT was ok. Hope testing sugars is helpful though to why you feel unwell.

SESthebrave · 11/08/2012 14:26

Aww Ginger - that's a lovely image of DH and DD. We found it really good to get DS involved with things like that to help him understand what was happening.

Not had my nap but I'm hopeless at napping during the day. Hope we get a better night tonight. DD spent most of the morning feeding but is chilling and almost asleep on her playmat now. There is a 9wk growth spurt isn't there?

tinkcantwaittomove · 13/08/2012 10:16

hi ladies Grin
ses - poor ds hope he is on the mend
hi all other ladies

boss took me in for a meeting yesterday at work said referees still not come through and that i have two weeks to sort them or my job will be terminated
i am off next week

BBwolefs · 13/08/2012 13:09

Aww ginger agree with ses what a lovely image!

ses hope more sleep since, hope DS on the mend

tink Sad hope you can sort things

We ( well DP with my supervision/ help) converted baby's wardrobe this weekend aswell as moving our wall mounted stairgate, and putting up shelves in our cleaning cupboard to maximise space - impresive when you have a dp as phobic p DIY as mine haha! Have since started washing babys clothes! Feels Very real!

Am having a few worries though regarding movements as im not feeling many (19 w 2days) although perhaps this is due to the anterior placenta?

I have my next scan next tues so will have to just brood until then!

Hope everyone is ok Smile

Gingerbreadlatte · 15/08/2012 08:35

Morning all
Very quiet on here.

McKayz · 15/08/2012 09:00

Morning,

Ginger, I think it's the summer holidays. I never seem to get 5 minutes to come on and post even with my iphone. Hope you are ok.

Ses, how is DS now?

Tink, hope you get sorted.

BB, Hope you are well.

We went to Chester Zoo yesterday. It was amazing except there were ridiculous traffic jams coming home so we decided to come off the motorway. We must have found every closed road and roadworks in the north of England.

DD has slept through the past 3 nights!!

BBwolefs · 16/08/2012 07:54

Morning all

Kayz wooo for DD what a good girl!
Im ok just wish these headaches would bog off! Haha!

Ginger hows you? Have you had any more growth scans?

Hope everyone else is ok Wink ses hope DS is on mend

Gingerbreadlatte · 16/08/2012 08:02

Morning all

Kayz- thats great for DD! I can imagine you are really busy now though DD sounds amazing :)

Ginger- all good here though SPD flared up again Confused I literally was taking pigeon steps at work yesterday. Must have looked like a right idiot!

Am off for growth scan today and also diabetic clinic - but sugars have been fine. THough I'd better do a fasting one now!

How is your SPD going ?

Gingerbreadlatte · 16/08/2012 08:04

fasting all good at 4.8. Just need to see if I'm packing a chunky monkey baby.

Everyone is very blunt about telling me how massive i am Shock which apart from being rude is rather concerning!

Will report back later this afternoon. :)

Gingerbreadlatte · 16/08/2012 16:57

Been for the scan. Baby isn't massive. Just on upper end of average. It's quite slim at the moment but there is a lot of fluid which is linked to diabetes apparently.

Got to stop my diabetic meds and have proper GTT to really see if there is a diabetic issue as I'm not taking the meds for diabetic purposes.

Lots of pursing by drs and threats of no homebirth re diabetes thing. I need to not worry about it until I get the results of the GTT. Hard not to though Confused look fwd to discussing with the mw next wk.

Hope everyone else is well.

SESthebrave · 16/08/2012 18:35

Quick hello from me!
It's DD's baptism on Sunday and we have a houseful here - MIL, SIL, 14yo niece, 13yo nephew and 5yo nephew all staying until Tuesday.

Ginger - great that scan shows a decent sized but not too big baby and also diabetic clinic went well :) When are they wanting to repeat without your metformin? Hard to take one stage at a time but yes, if they start threatening no home birth, deal with it then. You'll have our support!

DS is all scabbed over now and apart from a bit of itching he's been fine. No sign of it still for DD.

Took everyone except DH and MIL to Bluewater shopping today. Good job DH has a 7-seater! Tomorrow we're going to the Bluebell Railway - steam railway in Sussex. Kay your DH would love it!

Hello everyone else!

Gingerbreadlatte · 16/08/2012 19:01

Ses - Smile that sounds like a good houseful of nice helping hands. Blue water sounds fun. :)

The GTT was suggested to be after 1 wk. I hope that's long enough to get it out of my system - do you know?

McKayz · 16/08/2012 19:08

Wow Ses that is a houseful!! I hope you have a great time tomorrow. DH has been there. I am actually pretty sure there isn't a railway he hasn't been too.

DH goes on Sunday for 9 weeks away. It is pants!

OP posts:
SESthebrave · 16/08/2012 19:25

It is all a bit chaotic but MIL and SIL pitch in so much I feel a bit inadequate tbh!

Rellies are a bit sceptical about Bluebelll Railway but SIL told me to go ahead and pre-book tickets, so we're going! I hope they all enjoy it afterall.

Ginger - a week should be fine,

Kayz - That's pants about DH heading off again for 9 weeks. Does he struggle being away from you and the DC or is he used to it?
