We had 5 days at PIL and I felt a bit like that. The boys just wanted MIL all the time. DS2 is completely toilet trained now but still wants someone to go with him to the toilet. But if I ever offered he would scream for MIL. Luckily she didn't mind at all.

He always finds it pretty hard but I think it'll be harder this time because of DD.

It's strange isn't it. Nice to have others around to help out but they happily sort out meals for us all without me having to ask and before I have time to think about it. Great but I feel I should be hosting them and hence a bit inadequate!

At the moment, SIL has taken DS and niece and nephews to the playground so have a few moments to myself as DD just been fed and on her playmat, DH cutting the grass and MIL ironing her trousers!

SESthebrave · 17/08/2012 09:13

Just found a small solid lump the size of a 1p behind DS's ear. GP said to bring him down now. I'm hoping it's "just" an infected chicken pox spot.

SESthebrave · 17/08/2012 10:09

GP said it was infected lymph nodes from the chicken pox. Need to keep on with piriton and calamine to stop him scratching.

Gingerbreadlatte · 17/08/2012 10:12

oh Ses- fingers crossed that is all it is. Take care xx

Gingerbreadlatte · 17/08/2012 10:13

ah x posts
Phew. I used to get little round lumps behind my ears - sounds similar.

Hope he feels ok x

SESthebrave · 17/08/2012 10:16

Thanks Ginger. He's fine in himself. Was just a bit scary for us to see it. Hopefully it will calm down.

Gingerbreadlatte · 17/08/2012 12:22

I can imagine that was really scary. Anything like that would freak me out for sure. Im glad the GP was able to see you promptly.

Nice sunny day x

McKayz · 17/08/2012 14:53

Ses, I am glad it's not serious. Very scary stuff though.

We've just been to put DS1 in for swimming lessons. There is a 7 month waiting list!!!!!!!! Bleeding hell!!!

OP posts:
SESthebrave · 18/08/2012 08:05

It was a bit scary even though logic told me it was to do with the chicken pox!

Kayz - 7 months!!!!! Shock

Trip out yesterday went well. The rellies are all piling on a bus to Croydon today and taking DS with them. It's meant to be 28 degrees today - will be a bit hot on the bus I think! I'm stopping back to go supermarket shopping for tomorrow's post-baptism BBQ. I really need to add up how many people are coming... .... I think we're catering for 18 adults, 10 children (and 3 dogs!) Eek!!

Gingerbreadlatte · 18/08/2012 08:35

7 months is a long time Kayz! We need to arrange lessons for DD - thx for the reminder!

Bus to Croydon and even Croydon on a hot day sounds brave! Bet DS will love the bus though Grin I know Dd would love that trip! Your rellies look and sound fab! Ses! (browsing fb pic stalker-ish face Blush )

Good luck with the g and catering. Quite a houseful of people. Bet you are a natural though!

4D scan today. Picture should be good a I was told on Thursday that I have polyhydramnios so the extra fluid makes a good picture.

I admit I've been in denial a bit about it because it might mean no homebirth- what with that and possible GDM.

Within the space of 5 mins at hospital ( dr talking to me for 2 mins max) they said possibly no homebirth, top ups with formula and nasogastric tube tests. It couldn't be further from what I want and had planned re natural birth...

I will do what I have to for baby's safety but the consultant was so anti homebirth it made me Angry and she literally spent 2 mins talking to me. Looking fwd to the m/wife view on Monday.

Lovely hot day here. Grin

Tink - did your referees get sorted ?

SESthebrave · 18/08/2012 08:48

Ginger - what????! Why?????! And why formula top ups and possible NG tube? All because of excess waters? I'm sure someone on the wagon had this too. Was it Bumps?

As for rellies, yes they are great. ( Much easier than my side of the family!) DS will be lost when they go home!

Diege · 18/08/2012 10:02

Hello! I have been lurking but finding it very hard to keep up/post with the summer hols and everyone at home. I did read GINGER'S post though about having polyhydramniosis and wanted to say there are usually absolutely no issues/problems at all with this. I had it with ds1 (bumps did with her dc3 I think too?) and while he was a big baby there were no issues after he was born etc etc. I'm sure your mw will be far more reassuring than the consultant.
Love to all xxx

Gingerbreadlatte · 18/08/2012 11:09

Thanks for your post Diege Smile it's really helpful.

Ses - formula was in case any has low blood sugar, no home birth was because baby might need 4hrly blood sugar monitoring and the ng tube was some test they do to ensure the extra fluid isn't to do with a swallowing issue. I was really Sad about all this so didn't post but glad I did now.

Will chat to mw and see. Thanks again Ses and Diege

Ps diege. I still think you are amazing Grin Grin I've now idea how you've worked and been pregnant with more than 1 child at home.

SESthebrave · 18/08/2012 11:15

Absolutely agree about those with more than 1 DC and pg.
Diege - great to "see" you.

Ginger - enjoy your scan :)

Diege · 18/08/2012 14:10

Aww thanks GING Smile Btw the swallowing issue is very rare and is something that is seen quite readily on a scan if it is there (usually seen at 20 weeks). In fact they did check me for this as my dcs have a history of urinary tract 'abnormalities' antenatally (which always resolve), but all was fine. The only other 'issue' they mentioned was that if my waters broke before labour commenced (which can be more common with poly') that I was to come straight in as very, very occasionally the cord can present first. My waters did indeed go at home, and absolutely no problems (other than a real deluge, litres of the stuf). I can't really see how this would impact on home birth tbh Hmm as they would just come to you I presume? Anyway, I'm really sure your mind will be put at rest very soon x
Hi SES! How are things? Souns like you've been super busy! How is dd?

McKayz · 18/08/2012 15:33

Ginger, I know nothing about polyhydramniosis but I hope your MW can help.

Diege, lovely to 'see' you.

The boys have come back from XHs to say bye to DH. Trying very hard not to cry. Sad

kayz 7 months!! Jeez! Is that with water babies or someone? DP is a qualified swimming teacher shame we arent closer! He is going to teach DS, but if you can go regularly that will help, thats how we've built DS water over confidence Grin well done on diet too! I will be joining you ready for the wedding once DS2 is here!

ses eek for DS infected pox, and well done for not panicking! Hope A's special day goes well, if you have our
Weather you have a grand day for it!

Diege nice to her from you hope summer is treating you well!

Ginger poor you, you really dont need this stress, I'm afraid I'm another who
Doesn't know anything about the condition but hopefully your MW will be nicer than the consultant! If there is no medical implication i think you should get the birth you want, sounds like The consultant was just a bit negative!

Tink hope work is sorted!

Wave to any lurkers, LBOT any news? Cant any surrogacy news? Moosy? Star?

We have had a lovely weekend, yesterday my lovely at times DP let me sleep in, and I slept until 11!! This is unheard of for me! We went out at about midday and apart from some very stupid men it was a nice day. Today DP is having a lie-in but DS showed he loves mummy... Didnt get up until half 8!!

We are off to See my sis for her birthday today and take DS to a large play area, normally id be a bit worried (i dont know if thats me being PFB but i hate not being able to see and hear him as he doesnt stand up for himself Sad) but im not today as DP has already said for me to just sit down and he will run round with him Grin

Im feeling my 20 weeks today an yesterday i must admit, And scan is tues AM, we aren't telling them what other scan said, as dont want to bias them into Saying boy, so
Could be interesting Grin

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun Smile

McKayz · 19/08/2012 08:56

BB, its just the local swimming pool. I am thinking I should probably get DS2's name down too as he'll be 4 soon.
We didn't tell the nhs scan what the private scan said either and both said girl.

DH goes off to work in a few hours. Sad The boys are with XH and I don't think DS2 really understands that DH won't be here. He worships DH.

OP posts:
BBwolefs · 19/08/2012 09:05

Ah i see, is there just one in the area? That would explain the back log. We are spoilt for choice round here, but obviously DP goes into complete snobbery thinks he knows best Wink

Ah Sad about DP going away will you be able to skype or anything? I can imagine dealing with little boys who dont understand's feeling will just amplify your own Sad

we are hoping for the sane kayz if not i have a ton of clothes to sell haha

McKayz · 19/08/2012 09:12

Yes there's just one. There's another swimming pool about 9 miles away but even if I could drive I couldn't get there in time from school as lessons are at 4pm.

OP posts:
BBwolefs · 19/08/2012 09:19

Ah thats a pain!

Gingerbreadlatte · 20/08/2012 16:08

Hi
Wondering how you were doing Kayz now DH has gone. How was the departure for you and the boys?

McKayz · 20/08/2012 20:14

Hi,

Thanks Ginger. It wasn't too bad. We both had a little cry at the airport, DH especially when saying bye to DD.
The boys were ok yesterday but DS2 has been horrendous today. Keeps being naughty and then crying his eyes out. Poor little man.

OP posts:
BBwolefs · 21/08/2012 10:26

Kayz hope little DS is settling down, and you aren't finding it too hard!

Ginger saw your FB. Your boss is out of order!

Had my 20 week scan today, and baby was awkward, it really bloody hurt! They were so rough! After all the pushing and pulling they still couldn't get everything they wanted so have to go back in two weeks, awkward so and so!
