Mamma and McKayz's thread!

It's the home run ladies Grin

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Davinaaddict · 09/06/2012 16:24

Thanks McKayz I think so too, although of course I'm very biased Grin

So last nights sleeping was a complete disaster and I'm a bit Blush that I gave in after 2 hours and went back to Lauren being in our bed. But on the plus side we both got much more sleep, so I think that it's just too soon for her. Also she's full of cold again so may have just needed the extra comfort. But I'm not going to give up - we'll try again later.

Tonight we're off to a silver wedding do so I've been trying to fit into something nice Confused Randomly the coast dress that I was planning to wear doesn't look right (although I can do it up - yay! It's a size 12!), and neither do any of my other dresses, so I think I'm going to wear my green lace maternity dress that I wore for Christmas. It's very stretchy so you cant tell its actually a maternity dress but hides my mum tum quite nicely! Grin Hope you're all having a good weekend despite the crappy weather. Where has the summer gone? Sad

TroubleAndFyfe · 09/06/2012 20:03

I felt that (for us) the 3 month mark was just perfect for moving Fyfe to the cot so yy to keep trying davina!Grin

Davinaaddict · 10/06/2012 00:27

Well she's 9 weeks so that gives us around 3 weeks before we move then Grin Sounds like a plan!

Well turns out she doesn't like cold milk - DS would demolish his anyway it came. Seems his sister is a bit more fussy, as she wouldn't take her bottle whilst we were at the party tonight Sad DH managed to get her to take it when we got home after warming it and with some persuasion, but she guzzled 6oz! I think we'll need to practice that as well.... Everything seems to be much harder this time round, but then they do say every baby's different Wink

McKayz · 11/06/2012 11:16

Owwwwwwwwwww!!!!

My hips are in bloody agony. DS2 is at play school today and DS1 has a day off. So we took him off to school and then I stupidly decided we'd have a little wander round town and go to the market.

I am seriously paying for it now. Very tempted to persuade DS1 to get his swimming stuff on and we'll fill the pool up and spend the day in there Grin

elliebug · 11/06/2012 11:17

Do it!!! Grin it's jab day for us jake is already super grumpy and my breast pump keeps stopping working. Sigh

TroubleAndFyfe · 11/06/2012 11:49

Do it! mckayz
Good luck ellie!

Davinaaddict · 11/06/2012 12:14

I agree with the others in the 'do it!' sentiment Grin Hope you feel better soon.

I've had a morning of one up, one down this morning. Although DS who's tired out, is currently in bed, singing his heart out Grin That's not going to help him be less tired! On the plus side I've managed to get all the kids and my ironing done over the last 2 days for the first time in months!

trope · 11/06/2012 12:24

Ugh, what a horrid day :( It's so dark and gloomy I've got the lights on indoors, so cold I've got the heating on and (worst of all!) my coffee machine won't work as it needs descaler! Grrr! Poor Odie has had really bad wind all night, so we both haven't had enough sleep as he's been kicking and crying every time it bothers him.. Oh and DP had to get up at 5am so he could make an early meeting up in London... :( all in all a thoroughly shit start to the week... :(

Interesting about the 3 month mark being a good time to transition to the cot. It's something DP and i have been talking about as he doesn't sleep so well with Odie in the bed (even though I'm in between them!) Odie sometimes rolls onto his back in his sleep now and if we can get him sleeping on his back more it will make the transition to his cot so much easier and less stressful for us. I've been focusing on getting him to sleep independently during the day; putting him down in his buggy once asleep, or in it when sleepy then going for a walk. Plus putting him in his cot and bednest when awake while I do housework so he gets used to them more. He's still feeding on average 3 or 4 times a night though, so I'm keen to keep up the co sleeping till that drops down to around twice a night. Good luck with it davina do let us know how you get on!

Argh! iPad battery dying! Back later!!

AnchorBun · 11/06/2012 15:40

It's that fourth trimester I tells ya Wink

Davina, gorgeous pics! How sweet that your DS is singing in bed Smile

Hope things are going ok with you today Ellie, sounds difficult!

McKayz, I hope you're in the pool! Grin Gosh I don't envy you at the moment, it's so difficult. FX for some baby action ASAP for you!

Sorry you've had such a poo start to the week Trope, you're not alone though! DS is off preschool with a bad cough, lights and heating on here too, Lilly nearly rolled off my lap onto the floor when I was wiping DS's nose (nearly giving me a heart attack), DS is in a very testing stage again, not listening etc and I'm feeling pretty rubbish too Sad AND the flat's a tip! Grrrr... At least Lilly's still smiling!

TroubleAndFyfe · 11/06/2012 19:52

I have him in the bedside cot so our mattresses are still joined trope, Fyfe still feeds at 3 and 6 am (goes down at 8.30 pm) and gets up at around 9 ish. Smile
Hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone! Grin

EpicOde · 12/06/2012 09:33

Morning all [twirls & shows off new name] then falls over on arse as is sleepy and clumsy

well it's still pouring with rain here - so much for summer!

If Odie ever wakes from his morning nap I shall be bathing him and going to the hv clinic to get him weighed this morning! (Got to bath him first - he has cheese behind his ears... yummy!) Going to get soaked walking there, but at least i'll be getting out of the house for a while!

trouble that's what we are looking to do - though I don't know if he'll fit in the bednest all that much longer - might grab a cheapy ikea cot and rig it up by our bed with one side removed so it can be a co-sleeper!

bun poor DS :( he feeling any better today? how are you feeling?

davina lovely lovely pics! what gorgeous children you have!

ellie how did work go?

trouble bun if you pm me your email addresses i'll mail you both so we can all sort out a time/place to meet up! Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 12/06/2012 11:12

Yes, that's what we did epic (wow Envy) the cot was £25 off eBay with a brand new mattress and we have painted it the same colour as all our woodwork and rigged it up 3 sided, it's perfect! Grin will PM you...how exciting! Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 12/06/2012 11:27

I have finally been on to the web version and looked at all your photos! BlushGrin
They are all absolutely gorgeous, what beautiful children we have! (I don't think that about all babies btw!)

Davinaaddict · 12/06/2012 12:03

Morning zzzzz Had a crappy night here - little miss decided waking every half an hour was a good idea last night so I'm feeling particularly zombie like today. No idea what was wrong but I suspect it was wind Sad Luckily DS is in crèche today so we can have a seriously lazy day Smile

McKayz · 12/06/2012 12:24

Davina feeling knackered and crap as usual Sad 3 weeks until DH should be home! I can't wait.

Davinaaddict · 12/06/2012 12:49

Sorry McKayz Sad I was hoping you were feeling much better and were off partying after your swimming session GrinWink

McKayz · 12/06/2012 13:12

It would be fine if it wasn't for the stupid SPD. I am so fed up of people telling me that walking is good for me. It probably would be good for me if I didn't feel like my pelvis was about to fall to pieces.

I have been wearing a bump band under my jeans to see if it will help, but so far no good.

TroubleAndFyfe · 12/06/2012 16:44

My fucking stupid midwife kept saying that to me mckayz! No...walking actually makes it ten times worse when your pelvis is actually coming apart with every bloody step! Angry

Davinaaddict · 12/06/2012 17:11

Ok ladies anyone any ideas on what to do with an overtired, windy, majorly crosspatch of a baby as I'm all out of ideas Sad We've fed, changed, cuddled, bounced, jigged, walked, left to cry (only for a minute at a time but for a good 20 mins to try settle her) and still crying Sad I'm pretty much done in!

AnchorBun · 12/06/2012 17:19

Walking Mckayz?! What a tit! Sit/lay as much as poss (sorry I know that's a stupid thing to say when you have little uns to run around after!). Hot baths were the only thing that gave e any relief, I was having about 3 a day towards the end!

Sad Davina Lilly used to respond well to being held belly down across my forearm when she got like that for some reason. So legs and arms dangling down either side of your arm with lots of jiggling and rocking. A killer on the biceps! Grin

Or failing that, a pram ride outside?

Fingers crossed for you!

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 12/06/2012 17:31

Sad davina, have you tried gripe water? That sorts Fyfe out if he whinges for more than about 10 mins (spot the intolerant mother) works almost instantly. Otherwise, singing (when you least feel like it!) good luck!

foolserrand · 12/06/2012 17:39

Hi all, just nipping in to say hi. Davina I throw Flissy across my lap and play her like a bongo. Win all round :o

Sorry I've been quiet again, have reason to believe my dad is cheating, or trying to cheat, on my mum. :( Thrown me a bit. Created a thread about it but nobody can tell me what action to take, if any. I can't go a month without bloody drama. :(

TroubleAndFyfe · 12/06/2012 17:42

Sad sorry to hear that fools, that's awful!
The bongos technique works on the twins! Smile

McKayz · 12/06/2012 17:51

Fools That's awful. Do you think you'll tell your Mum or speak to your Dad? Sad I wouldn't have a clue what to do in that position.

Davina I was going to say something similar to Fools. Sometimes I would lie DS2 tummy down across my lap. For some reason it would calm him right down.

Trouble Sorry for the bleeding awful picture I have just sent you. It is terrible Smile

Anchor I have been on 2 hot baths at day recently. Usually DS2 either falls asleep or will come sit in the bathroom with me. So I have one in the afternoon and one when they are in bed.

AnchorBun · 12/06/2012 18:10

Urgh Fools! That's awful Sad Before I read your first 2 posts on your thread (sorry, don't have time to read it all atm) I was going to say I think I would have a word with your dad giving him the chance to tell your mum himself otherwise you do (it would be better coming from him and I do think she has the right to know). But then there's the complication of your DH working for him etc! But if he's reluctant to say anything about it he really shouldn't have told you about the statement he saw and put you in such a difficult position Sad
Sorry, not sure how helpful that is! Confused

Will be back on later when DC's are in bed - DP working late today.
