Omg mckayz!!

Great day yesterday. Violet was a star all day and we went to meet another new mum and her baby. We walked round the park and went for lunch. Violet had 2 great naps and then slept brilliantly last night. So feeling pretty human right now. We're going to a bf group this morning and then hope to get a weigh in done.

We're going up to Sheffield this weekend

Sounds great mamma! It's lovely to have someone to go for lunch with, glad it went well. What are you up to in Sheffield? It's my sister's wedding tomorrow!

We're going to Sheffield for our niece's baptism. 2 nights away. Really looking forward to it plus we're asking DP's sister to be Violet's godmother

It's in Canterbury, at our old school! 50 people so middle sized!

Hello, I haven't been ignoring you totally ( even if thread did drop off threads I'm on ) have been having a few shitty weeks but hopefully things are getting better now hope those of you who were poorly are feeling better and those awake babies start doing some good sleeping!! Ok, you're not going to believe this but - DD is pulling up to standing on furniture and cruising along the sofa! Will she never sit still?! My other thread (the Jan 2012 thread) has migrated to Facebook so I posted a video. She's not moving fast yet but she's definitely moving .

Things seem to be proving slightly here - 3 hourly wakings instead of 2 But she still feeds every 2 hours during the day I'm beginning to wonder if I'm doing something wrong... She latches herself on fine, and once I have a let down she has a good load of gulps, then as the flow calms down, she gets really fussy and comes off a lot. So I then swap sides and she does the same again - some good gulps followed by lots of fussing again. And also, sometimes it seems to take ages before I have a let down It all seemed so much simpler the first time round

Davina DD is only interested in the fast flowing milk, any milk that actually requires proper sucking is way too much work and this is why she does green poos every couple of days. Most of the time they're yellow but there are green too. DD is a lazy feeder which is why I don't think we'll have much luck without the shields

DD slept 6.5 hours before a feed last night, am amazed!! We're up in Sheffield at the baptism. Having fun with the family

We don't get green poos but we've gone from a few days of none, to 2 days of poo-namis! 3 each day and twice leaked out of her nappy, all over my trousers! (vomit not envy!)

We've had a lovely day of sunshine today, and I've finally admitted defeat with the housework and told DH that he's going to have to help more as I just can't keep up. I just don't get chance to do any, as the only time I actually get free, I need to eat, or go to the loo or get a shower If I'm lucky I can throw a load of washing in, but then I won't be able to sort it, iron etc. And I don't feel too guilty as he's even stopped cleaning up after himself I know he's tired but as I'm doing all the night wakings, then I think I've got the monopoly on tiredness And dropping comments like 'this tablecloth needs a really good clean' but then doing nothing about it, just piss me off! I'm not super woman! And who knows what will happen when I'm back at work Anyway, we'll see how we get on this week

No I don't know either Trouble Just feeling like we're muddling through this time even now, rather than actually getting somewhere But she seems happy enough now so I suppose that all we can do

I'm sure I've forgotten lots a few things, but am rather tired today. I was given book one of the sodding 50 shades trilogy on Wednesday and, hate to say it, I was hooked. Finished the last book last night and feel a bit sad now. Not much new with us. Ds had his new teacher over on Thursday. She brought a basket full of toys, stayed 10 minutes, then took them away again. Poor ds was devastated!

Yeah, think that's about it. I miss my book! Wail.

Had a great time at the christening. Violet was a superstar too and so well behaved all weekend. She's slept 6-7 hours 4 nights in a row now. Amazing what it can do to have unbroken sleep. Hope she keeps this up.

Yesterday however was the day from hell. Left Sheffield at 11:30am and didn't get home til 11pm because we broke down on the M1. Car engine basically blew up, smoke everywhere. DP pulled over on hard shoulder quick time, I rushed out and grabbed V out the car. Was awful, there was smoke in the car. Then ran down the hard shoulder for a bit trying to getaway from it incase it caught fire. Lorries thundering past......waited there behind a barrier under a big bush for an hour for the AA who came and towed us to the nearest services. Diagnosed bad news on the car and said he'd arrange for a tow to take is home. £500 coz we were so far away!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a guarantee on the engine so won't cost anything to fix but DP is going to give them hell about the recovery cost. The AA man said it was a serious failure in the engine, makes me wonder how it passed its MOT 6 weeks ago..... Went in 2 different tow trucks and finally made it home. V was an Angel all day, even on the hard shoulder. I was petrified a lorry would smash into us

We're now in bed (still!), both of us loads of skin to skin, V in just a nappy, feeding and cuddling. Although we both keep getting very hot and have to have little breaks apart

Can I just say, THIS is what maternity leave is all about! Sitting in the sun in shorts and a vest whilst Lauren kips Although not for much longer as I'm going to wake her up soon, so we can go for a lovely walk with my mate

Hi fools - I was just thinking that we've not see you for a few days An I'm with Trouble - what is this "reading" that you speak of? I've not picked up a book since I got pregnant And I normally read loads! Although I suspect some of that is because of my phone being more accessible and not that I'm addicted to MN and Draw Something, oh no I can't decide whether I want to read 50 shades or not. I've heard mixed reviews

Reading. Well, what can I say? I have ignored dh since Wednesday except the few times he brought me a lovely crisp glass of white wine Flissy sleeping so well has made it easy to get a few hundred pages under my belt each evening. Am seriously suffering withdrawal now though. Both of them asleep and no book. :( I resorted to fan fiction... never again!
