Thanks davina. I tried this evening but violet didn't have a clue what to do. When she latched it was with a very small mouth and only for about 5 seconds. Will keep trying but duno when violet's going to figure it out. Hmm...

Wedding cake toppers are here! Bride and groom zombies personalised to wear the clothes DP and I will be wearing! Excited!

She did quite a lot of tummy time but I didn't ever put her on her front - from the moment she could roll (16 weeks I think), she would flip to her front and try to get her legs underneath her. She did it every single time I put her down and all through the night in her sleep. It has caused a lot of screeching and night waking; it's been bloody awful.

And is she happy with her new found freedom? Nope, she has instantly moved on to her new trick, which is pulling herself up to standing. Except she's too wobbly to stand for long so she falls a lot. I had to adjust her crib tonight as I found her sitting up holding the bars - so she's now right down on the bottom setting so she can't topple out.

She's all go this girl! Not sure if it's a coincidence but I have a friend with a boy who's 6 days older than J and he is crawling too (today actually!) and he is in the sling a lot too - I think the sling wearing gives them a strong back and neck quite early, maybe.

Cake toppers sound great bun! Can we have a sneak peak? How long now til the big day?!

Jools sounds like a little scamp with her rolling/crawling/standing! Bet you need eyes on the back of your head with her quick development.

Also sorry trouble, totally meant to say earlier, well done Fyfe on his rolling! Is he very pleased with himself??

Violet's been a sleepy baby today. Quite a contrast to the mega feeding she did over the weekend. We're going to Sheffield this weekend for our niece's baptism. Our first trip away with Violet. Trying to think about all the stuff we'll need for 2 nights away.

That's nice mamma, we have a weekend away too, my sister's wedding.
Fyfe looked more surprised than anything!
Eek ghost re your theory, he has been in the sling every day since he was born. He's quite late with the rolling but is very strong (standing with support etc)

Oops, posted too soon...not attempted to get legs under him or anything though.

I'd be interested to hear if he starts trying to crawl soon then; sounds like he's really strong

Morning,

I had a really bad day yesterday. Rosalie hardly slept Monday night, then we went to York to get the car its MOT. I twisted my bad ankle again so spent ages sat on a wall unable to walk and then the car bloody failed!! We can't really afford to get it fixed or buy a new one. But it's going to another garage today so they can look at it and hopefully get it fixed a bit cheaper.

My ankle has swollen up so I need to see a doctor.

I might just go back to bed!!

Today might be better. I've just upgraded my phone to the new iPhone!!

She'll get there Mamma Remember she'll have to relearn how to feed so it will take time and practice. I tried about once a week and one week it just clicked for her. Good luck

I love that surprised look Trouble Lauren tends to push herself up when on her front, then she loses her balance and ends up rolling onto her back. She is surprised every time Mean mum keeps laughing at her as well

Sorry to hear about your crap day McKayz Sounds like today ha got off to a good start though! I'm hoping the iPhone 5 will be out in time for my upgrade next March. And this is me that said I'd never get an iPhone Now you couldn't pay me enough to part with it

So my bloody cold seems to be getting worse I now have sore eyes, sore throat, runny nose, annoying chesty cough, headache, constantly freezing etc. And the self pity is astounding - it must be man flu So I'm in comfy pjs and snuggie drinking lucozade, popping paracetamol and watching Download 2012. I think Lauren's got it too, as she's now been asleep for 2 hours - practically unheard of during the day!

The zombies are very cute, little painted wooden figures, very cute and simple. Will post a pic when I get the chance it's getting VERY near now (24th aug) so we're actually having to start spending money! been giving myself lots of metaphorical shoulder shakes back into reality, it's so easy to get carried away with the details and watch the budget (and stress levels) grow. We're back to bare bones with a few quirks

I was exactly the same with iPhones Davina you'd have to take my left hand with you if you wanted mine DP (geeky) said that the iPhone 5 is possibly due out next month, certainly before the end if the year.

Funky! I love weddings. I remember trying to rein the budget it. It's so hard as there are so many lovely wedding things out there I might have to suggest to DH that we renew our vows back in Mexico just so I can do it all again

Well this is rubbish - its so sunny here today and I'm stuck in the house I don't feel too bad now, but having run up the stairs to get some more paracetamol, I realised that I'm not fit for doing any proper exercise We may venture to Asda later though if only or a little walk and some fresh air...although its quite a steep hill so maybe not

Lauren slept for 2.5 hours this morning all in all Then up for 1.5 hours with loads of playing now back down for a kip so time for feet up again. And (TMI alert!) all this sneezing has let me know that I've not been doing enough pelvic floor exercises Haha - that was nearly pelvic flier exercises. Stoopid autocorrect

Those figures are brilliant. bun! Really not long to go now.

Tried again without the shields this morning, she did a little better than yesterday but got very frustrated after about a minute. Also had a lovely long morning nap so I got to shut me eyes too.

I hope your man flu does one davina and your ankle feels better mckayz.

Well we've only actually been married 6 years so it might be a bit soon But I can dream and start planning

Tricky night..... She just didn't want to settle so just co slept after her night feed, I was beyond battling any longer.

Am meeting another new mum today, her baby is a week younger than V and she has a little boy too. We're going for a walk round the park

Just tried no shield and she stressed out. Humpf! Going to the bf group again tomorrow.

Wonder how ellie and epic are?

We had a tough evening yesterday. She just kept crying, unless I was feeding her. But she's feeding for a few minutes and then falls asleep. But if I try and move she just cries. I'm wondering if it's colic as she's fine during the day and sleeps well most nights. Albeit in our bed.

There was just a couple in a car on the main road outside my house making out!! Well a little more than that really. Lots of groping!! On a main road!!
