Sad mckayz!
bun your long hair is gorgeous, are you sure?
fools buy a test! Grin

AnchorBun · 05/07/2012 14:05

Haha! Fools I have woken up and now understand your ' on your head ' comment - I thought you meant on my head (coz it's all big an' that) rather than on a head! ..Hmm Blush
Hope you're ok. Have you done a test yet?

Thank you Trouble Smile I'm sure though, it's in awful condition, it's impossible to get into any style because it's too heavy to pin up etc and I'm bored of it. Oh and it's really bloody hot in this weather because it's insanely thick!

Hope you all have lovely sun to enjoy! I'm finally starting to feel better now, just couldn't shift that bug!

foolserrand · 05/07/2012 16:13

I second Trouble, are you sure you want to chop it all off? If you are, I'd look at kirsten dunst's styles to find one that you like, she's had all different lengths. I think you're insane though, just one more thing to be pulled by a baby.

I am not testing, genuinely think I freaked myself out over nothing. Although have had loads of fun terrifying dh today. Poor bugger tried to use "our family's carbon footprint" as a reason to stop at two. We have a 4x4, which he drives to the shops a mere 15 minute walk away. He deserves to be punished!

AnchorBun · 05/07/2012 17:51

That's another reason why I want it cut, I can't pin it back so that it's out of Lilly's reach! Because it's so heavy, it pulls and really hurts if I pin it all up and I hate just having it up in a pony tail or bun. I can pin the front sections back so it's out of my face but the rest keeps falling forward over my shoulders into Lilly's waiting hands, grrr.
One of the stipulations of the new style is that it has to be long enough to pin back and stay back on lazy days.

Honestly, if you saw it in person, you'd see how bad the condition of it is, it's like straw some days. Long hair only works if it's in good condition imo! In the photo with DP and I where it actually looks quite nice, I'd straightened it and there was an ungodly amount of product in it (it was a wedding)

Are you suuuure Fools? Wink Your family's carbon foot print made me Grin Clutching at straws or what! Grin

I wish I had thick hair, mine's so thin when it's long it looks straggly.

I need some tips on nappy rash. Poor thing has a red bum and it's sort of bobbly. Am changing her really regularly, warm water and cotton wool, dunking her in a bucket of water regularly to wash all nasties away, drying her thoroughly before going back in nappy, thin layer of sudocrem, letting air to her bum etc. are there any other products you'd recommend? Mum said she used to put Vaseline on me when I was in nappies rather than a cream. She doesn't seem bothered by her red bum but I am, can't be nice Sad

An much more up beat and a lot less anxious this week thankfully. DP off to latitude festival next weekend so need to figure out when I can have a shower when no one is watching V...Confused

fools did you feel excited over the prospect of a possible pregnancy? Would you like a third?

Just want to say thanks to all of you with all the advice and help you've given me recently. Although I don't post too often I do read everything and think a lot about what you've all said and are chatting about. It's a place I know I can come for some help Smile .

Don't think I'm ever going to get the laptop fired up to get some pics of V on my profile so decided I need to set up a pic sharing account like bun. Let's see how long this takes me!

MammaInTheMaking · 05/07/2012 18:58

So I've uploaded photos to Flickr but how do I share them with you?

MammaInTheMaking · 05/07/2012 19:04

Just messing about now!

AnchorBun · 05/07/2012 23:31

Your link hasn't worked Mamma Sad

I find Metanium cream works better than Sudocrem for established nappy rash, for Lilly anyway. I use the daily ointment with every change now (got a tube free doing a MN review, woo!) and she's not had a rash since! But other people said it made no difference with their babies so who knows. Might be worth a try?

Happy to hear you're feeling positive Smile Re showering etc, does V have any decent naps during the day now (sorry if you've already said, terrible memory!), have you a baby monitor with a handset you could take into the bathroom with you so you could hear her if she cries? Or bring her into the bathroom with you, put her in a bouncy chair or on a play mat/towel or something?

TroubleAndFyfe · 05/07/2012 23:57

Just got back from proms in the park! We had a great night, just feeding Fyfe off to sleep now! Grin
mamma a bit like bun suggested, I take Fyfe in to the bathroom with me every morning and put him naked on a changing mat on the floor. He loves to kick around and play whilst I shower; I can take my time and have never had a problem...worth a try? Smile for nappy rash, once established you'll need something decent to get rid of it. My mum swears by gentian violet (appropriate! Grin) which is pretty hardcore stuff you paint on. Once the bobbles and redness go you need to try a different cream as different ones work for different babies. I use waitrose bottom butter alternated with sudocrem but have friends who use bepanthen etc. my mum also used Vaseline but I've read that using petroleum based products on babies is not recommended these days. Hope you find something that works! New link to photos please! Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 06/07/2012 03:25

Does this work?

m.flickr.com/%23/photos/81963530@N03/7509293764/

Thanks for the tips! We gave her an air bath in the evening again and now having just done her night nappy change it's looking so much better. Bobbles gone, not angry red, just a bit pinker than the rest of her...Confused i'm pleased but we didn't do anything extra so not sure how it's suddenly better. Will have a look at those other products though, hate the idea she might have a painful bum!

3:30am and expressing.

MammaInTheMaking · 06/07/2012 03:27

Can't understand why the link doesn't work....would it help if I told you my name so you can search me?

EpicOde · 06/07/2012 08:10

On iPad so can't post properly but mamma I think I've sorted your link, assuming this is you.

EpicOde · 06/07/2012 08:21

Ok, assuming I've found the right account, this will link you to the start of the photstream on Flickr!

Violet is gorgeous btw! So cute! :) we have the same striped blanket and next sleep suits (well, odie outgrew the sleep suits in no time, as he has with everything, enormous boy that he is!), they are lovely and bright and the blanket is so soft and nice! You and your DP are a lovely looking couple too! I love the photo of you pregnant!

We're off out to meet my friend from ante natal today, but I will try and post properly on the weekend!

Oh and fools POAS already! ;) You know you want to...

MammaInTheMaking · 06/07/2012 08:30

Aahhhh epic thankyou! What did you do to get the link to work?? But yes that's me Grin

Violet's feet have outgrown those baby grows from Next! She's in 0-3 stuff just so her feet don't get squished, the grows are baggy on her though!

Decorators are coming to finish up our hall today. About time too!

Enjoy your days everyone Smile x

AnchorBun · 06/07/2012 08:40

What a gorgeous family Mamma! Beautiful pics. Smile

Have a nice time Epic!

TroubleAndFyfe · 06/07/2012 09:04

Grin wow, what gorgeous photos mamma! Violet is smashing!

McKayz · 06/07/2012 09:17

Mamma I know I've seen it on facebook but I love the picture of Violet yawning.

MammaInTheMaking · 06/07/2012 10:15

Hehe mck her yawning pic is fab isn't it. She has a crooked yawn Grin.

Rain rain go away.......

Davinaaddict · 06/07/2012 16:16

Lots to catch up on again - we are a chatty bunch Grin

Yes I'm looking forward to the trip but not the journey Sad We've got to drive all the way to Howden before we can se off to the south coast, to pick my Dad up. I'm just sat in Leeds waiting for DH and DS before we set off. And I still think I've forgotten something AngryIt's driving me nuts! But at least I know I've got my keys this time Grin Oh and DH cleaned the kitchen for me last night although he stropped about it a bit, which I ignored

Sorry about DH McKayz Sad Did you get the rain you wanted yesterday? Will it be rearranged for when DH will be back if so?

How's DS's eye today fools? Better I hope. It always looks worse a couple of days later though, when the bruising comes out.

That sounds a nice length Bun Smile But I have to admit to Grin at the short & curly comments Grin

Have you tested yet fools? Sounds like its DH that's contributing to your carbon footprint if he's the one driving to the shops WinkGrin

Aww Mamma what lovely photos! What a cutie Violet is Smile We found with DS that the best results in nappy rash came from a good thick layer of Bepanthemen (Ok so I can't spell it Grin) with a top layer of Vaseline to stop it getting wiped/weed off. We're another one with the same next baby gros Grin

Hope you've had a good time Epic Smile

McKayz · 06/07/2012 16:34

Davina no we didn't have rain yesterday. So sports day went ahead. DS1 came 3rd and 4th in his races and DS2 came 4th in the pre school race.

DH should now be home on Monday. So it's not too bad.

Davinaaddict · 06/07/2012 20:26

Brill! Shame about the sports day and lack of rain, but I suppose it means you have an extra day at home with DH. And the weekends always go too quickly so he'll be home before you know it Smile

McKayz · 07/07/2012 11:40

YAY DH has flights booked!! He gets to Manchester at 1010 Monday morning and then is getting the train to near here. So he will be home in time to pick the boys up from school. So we've decided to not tell them so it'll be a surprise when they see him. Grin

Davinaaddict · 07/07/2012 12:15

Fantastic! Grin What a fabulous surprise for the boys Grin

McKayz · 08/07/2012 13:05

ARGHHHHH!!!!

I actually think DH will never ever come home. They aren't allowed to leave until the Customs and Immigration people have gone to the ship to check papers and passports etc.

Well they haven't bloody shown up, they said they would be there at 8am. 5 hours later and they aren't there. One of the guys DH works with is now missing his flight back to South Africa and it looks likely DH won't be getting his tonight either.
