He's now in a taxi rushing to the airport in the hope of getting his flight. I've got everything crossed.

Grin mckayz! Grin

foolserrand · 09/07/2012 10:23

McKayz! He will be here any second! Am very excited for you!

Sorry to disappoint ladies, but the symptoms were the beginnings of the mother of all utis. I was quite ill. Still, its opened the lines of communication about having a third. He seems very against though, while I'm very pro. I can see this being problematic.

Trouble what sort of cover did you say you use for rainy days with the sling? Need something for Friday. Ds has decided I'm taking him to the farm for my birthday, then out for pizza. Lucky me! :o

TroubleAndFyfe · 09/07/2012 10:36

Darn, we have to wait longer for more babies! Wink
That sounds like a lovely birthday treat fools! I bought a waterproof poncho (from mountain warehouse, it's rather snazzy) haven't had to use it yet though have tried it on and it fits over us both just fine, will just have to watch he doesn't get I over heated as it covers his head of course.
Right, off to baby massage then to meet bun and trope epic! Grin

foolserrand · 09/07/2012 10:46

Can he breathe alright in it then?

TroubleAndFyfe · 09/07/2012 12:47

I hope so! It's quite big so plenty of space around him but you'd only want it for heavy rain, not all day use! Smile

foolserrand · 09/07/2012 13:17

Have fun meeting the others! Just bought a suse's kinder poncho. It's due to tip down on Friday. Just hope it arrives in time!

TroubleAndFyfe · 09/07/2012 17:59

Wow, looks great! There goes another dragon's den idea then! Angry
Had a lovely afternoon of cafes with bun and epic and their lovely children though Fyfe was really grotty, I assume from the buckets of dribble, due to teething! Sad poor boy. Now of course he's the happiest boy on the planet, chatting away happily on the train! I have learned a valuable lesson - carry teething stuff in changing bag! Grin we had a lovely lunch and it was great to meet them all in person and confirm that they are not hairy men with great imaginations and too much time on their hands I have a picture of us all (minus Odie and Lilly who were in their prams) which I will post soon along with a selection of Fyfe pics which I have been promising for ages! Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 10/07/2012 11:11

Where is everyone? well, apart from mckayz, she's allowed to not be on here

McKayz · 10/07/2012 11:51

I'm here!!!

I'm having a few second thoughts on BF. it's going great but I'm not enjoying it that much. I have really painful let down and I leak loads, especially on the right hand side. Plus DD does an explosive poo after every feed. It's coming out the nappy and through her clothes and occasionally onto the clothes of the person holding her. I've read that's normal and also that she should only poo once every few days.

I'm in 2 minds about giving up. I don't want to have to faff about washing and sterlising bottles and getting up in the middle of the night to make bottles. But I don't want to be in agony every time she cries or goes a bit longer between feeds.

It's too confusing. Confused

Davinaaddict · 10/07/2012 12:28

I'm here! I've been trying and failing to catch up on some rest after a long weekend. And YUCKY YUCKY, I found a tick on my arm this morning. I've got rid of it but I think I might have a bit left behind, so I'm going to take a walk down to the pharmacist in a bit BlushEnvy

Davinaaddict · 10/07/2012 12:41

Aargh posted too soon and cross posted with McKayz

How was the reunion with the boys McKayz? I bet they were so happy Grin And it must be great for you to have DH home now as well. Grin

Sorry the bf isn't going so well for you. Sad If its any help, we went through a similar thing, but for us we saw a huge improvement round about the 10-12 weeks mark. It's a big thing for your body to adjust to, and stories about how easy everyone finds it, don't help if you're struggling. Sad What you're going through is normal, but if you do decide that it's not for you, then that's fine too Smile We'll be here to support you either way so let us know if there's anything we can do/say to help Smile

McKayz · 10/07/2012 15:05

It's so annoying as its going well. DS2 wouldn't latch on and I had cracked bleeding nipples and he wasn't gaining any weight. I was so annoyed I hadn't been able to feed him. But now when DD is feeding fine its me that isn't gettin on with it.

Everything seems to say that you'll love bf and you'll happily look into each others eyes. Well that never happens Grin

Davinaaddict · 10/07/2012 16:26

No it doesn't always so early on Sad But, in my experience it does get better - I know that's easy to say though. You've done fantastically so far, and much as I don't want to seem to be preaching, you can do it Smile The other thing of course is that it's even harder with other DC, as you can't get the rest and the time together with your baby. I found it was always a rush to get Lauren on so that a) she would calm down quickly and b) so I wasn't seen by DS to be spending all my time and energy on Lauren. I know that sounds a big mean and possibly nuts, but I was (and still am a bit) paranoid about sibling jealousy Confused It's easier now she's bigger as she latches on really quickly, and of course we're off the shields now. And now I can snatch gazes into Lauren's eyes. Although she tends to grin at me which sort of messes up the feed a bit, but completely melts my heart Grin

Davinaaddict · 10/07/2012 16:27

Hmm Paragraphs much? Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 10/07/2012 16:42

mckayz The looking in to each others eyes came around 12 weeks for us along with it being easy, enjoyable etc. now at 19 weeks I want to feed him more than he wants to feed (never thought that would happen!)
Fyfe also pooed after every nappy but washables keep it inside the wrap...I can imagine it's very annoying if you have to keep changing her (and you) he now only poos twice a day.
Painful let down must be horrible! Sad with the leaking, try sharply pushing the other nipple in as you start to feed..it may take 2-3 goes but I stops the milk leaking. I don't know why, just something my mum told me to do and it does work! Grin
All that said, it isn't for everyone and if you're not enjoying it at all you shouldn't feel you have to carry on!
davina how did it go at the pharmacist?
Fyfe has been grotty and dribbly again today Sad I have given him Calpol and he's cheered up a lot though is quite sleepy...is that normal?

Davinaaddict · 10/07/2012 16:51

The pharmacist was fine thanks - he thinks I got it all out, so put some Savlon and a plaster on - it was like being a little kid again Grin I just have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get worse Confused

It's quite normal for teething babies to be sleepy, as they don't get the rest they usually need when they're in pain Sad The calpol will be helping that pain though, so I'd encourage as much sleep as possible - poor thing! Hope he's not suffering too long Sad
