How funny! We've been giving her fruit and veg for a wee while but she's close enough to six months for a bit of dairy, I think Grin. How did it go? J loves cucumber, yoghurt, orange, strawberries (I hold those!) but not so keen on banana.

AnchorBun · 02/07/2012 20:33

Brilliant! She had some sweet potato and strawberry (not together obv), went down a treat! She had some fruit puree yesterday too because DS wanted to share his with her Smile

Haha we love a good weaner Grin

And I Grin at squitty little twerp, fools! He did make me want to throw something very hard at my tv Angry Ooh if it's do cheap I might just buy shred anyway Smile We're considering using our garage as a gym, as we'll never get a car in it anyway, so I'll be back to doing my DVDs hopefully Smile Oh and you're a fab mother - we were dancing along to Nirvana on Scuzz last week Grin

Mamma that sounds like a fabulous day! Grin

I agree with ghost on the sling height thing as well. If I try to tie mine round my hips, or even waist, it's not tight enough. I'm still practicing though as we tried again today and it wasn't as comfy as it was on Saturday, even after I adjusted it.

Go Fyfe It's so nice to see all the hardship was worth it with their development and growth Smile

McKayz · 03/07/2012 09:33

Thank you!!

I've managed to tie the sling now. I did it much higher like you've said instead of lower down. I really want to try out the cuddly carry but I couldn't quite work it out but we managed tummy to tummy. Which Rosalie hated but she was hungry I think. Hopefully she will like it next time I try it.

ghosteditor · 03/07/2012 10:26

Yey mckayz! You're absolutely right; if they're hungry they can smell milk and might not settle. DD loves the sling on the move but has less patience if I'm sitting or standing, unless she's sleeping.

Tummy to tummy is my hold of choice! A few safety things - you should be able to kiss her head easily but she shouldn't be able to head butt your chin! And never let the fabric cover her face completely, though spark out on your chest with face in your clothes seems to be ok with DD Smile.

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/07/2012 11:20

Fyfe is the same, I have to be walking otherwise he wants to get out! Smile

Are we all agreed we're meeting on Sunday 18th November in Northampton, just for the day? I'd like to get it confirmed in my diary! Grin

McKayz · 03/07/2012 12:30

That's fine by me!

We've just been discharged by MW. Now just to wait for the HV to get in touch. I am tempted to ring them instead and suggest I go to clinic instead of them coming here.

Davinaaddict · 03/07/2012 13:51

Fab McKayz Grin We're having a little practice every day, even if it's just round the house. We've just popped to Asda with it and discovered that we need to take tissues for those impromptu sick moments Blush I didn't bother with the change bag as its only 5 minutes away - oops! Lauren's fine whether I'm standing/walking but doesn't really like to be sat down anyway, so I've not tried that. But her preference is baby facing the world as she's a nosy bugger very curious baby Grin

That was the date I was going to put in my diary Trouble Smile Should I ask my friend for a good meeting place? Or does anyone else know of anywhere? Smile

foolserrand · 03/07/2012 14:48

I'm happy with that date!

Sounds like the babies are all doing really well. I actually lol'ed at weaners!

So, its my birthday next week and dh has lots of parcels arriving. I'm really pissing him off by guessing what they all are! :o Well, if he didn't want me guessing, he should have had them sent to his office. I bet he forgets wrapping paper though.

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/07/2012 16:28

Ooh, how exciting fools! What've you got so far? Grin

foolserrand · 03/07/2012 16:31

Dvd boxset, cd and either a top or a tea towel. I expect the jewels to arrive tomorrow :o

I'm being especially kind to him and not opening the boxes.

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/07/2012 19:20

Oooh....box set! Any ideas which one?

foolserrand · 03/07/2012 20:21

Knowing him, Raising Hope or TBBT.

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/07/2012 20:25

Haven't watched any of those...love box sets though!Smile

foolserrand · 03/07/2012 21:00

So does he! :o Think I'm only getting it to free up space on the sky + box!

Davinaaddict · 04/07/2012 09:52

What's TBBT? I can't work it due to being thick overtiredness and baby brain Grin

I really hope he's not got you a tea towel though! Have the jewels turned up yet? Wink

I'm so tired today - grumpy arse baby got up too early, grumped at me for an hour, then insisted on clinging to my hand whilst she fell asleep Hmm So I've got up, dressed, breakfast etc and am now laid on the bed, until she wakes up again, so we can go visiting zzzzz Might need a lot of Biscuit today!

TroubleAndFyfe · 04/07/2012 12:14

The big bang theory I googled it as not as cool as fools didn't know either. Grin Fyfe does that waking for an hour thing, I think it's quite common. Annoying too! Grin

Davinaaddict · 04/07/2012 16:36

Ah thanks Trouble Smile

So we just tried tummy to tummy sling as I thought Lauren was getting tired, but she screamed and hated it so we're back to baby facing the world nosy bugger Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 04/07/2012 16:47

Cool you're getting on with it davina! Grin

foolserrand · 04/07/2012 17:03

Ha! I'm so not cool! The boy is, not me. So, Flissy slept from 12-6 last night. Totally change from the last few nights. Must have been a growth spurt.

We have spent the afternoon in a grim soft play with ds' little girlfriend. Poor boy collided with another child. He swelled and bruised instantly, right under his left eye. It looks so painful, but, as ever, the little trooper is claiming he's alright. I'm still toying with the local minor injuries unit. The other kid was fine, obviously, it was his damned fault for running into my pfb not that he was also running, hoh no! I will never forget that noise. :(

AnchorBun · 04/07/2012 17:48

18th November sounds good to me! No suggestions for a meeting place I'm afraid, never been there Smile

I bloody love TBBT! Being geeks it has great appeal to DP and I Smile Our wedding is going to be very basic but with smatterings of nerdiness throughout (think strato chess board (3 tiers) as a cake stand and Star Wars tie pins). We're muddled we are Grin

OP posts:
AnchorBun · 04/07/2012 17:52

Oh Fools! Bless him, hope he heels soon. It's heartbraking seeing them hurt Sad

Bear and Biscuit for him.

OP posts:
foolserrand · 04/07/2012 18:09

Thanks Bun, he's playing on daddy's phone now with a new car sitting next to him.

That cake sounds amazing!

foolserrand · 04/07/2012 18:18

Oh, totally forgot... we have been less than careful since Fliss has come along and this morning I woke up feeling sick, everything tastes funny and I have the start of a uti (sorry). All symptoms that made me poas 11 months ago.

Someone tell me I'm imagining it and I won't have 1 year between children! I am panicked!
