Violet has thrush in her mouth. When are we going to get a break Sad Got drops to put in her mouth but can't do it and then feed her as the drop needs to stay on her tongue for a while so it works. Can see this is going to be hard as the drops smell so reckon they must taste bad.

In good news she is finally at her birth weight (day 18). Final weigh in at the weekend and then she'll be discharged Smile

Well done rosalie !! And really well done mckayz she's def getting her feeds Grin

elliebug · 25/06/2012 14:49

is it nystatin mamma? they dont taste too bad promise :)

MammaInTheMaking · 25/06/2012 16:01

That's it ellie and you're right. Turns out Violet quite liked the taste and she was a trooper and took her first drop really well. So feeling better about that as long as it clears it nicely. Had a really nice afternoon after the Drs. Violet was content to sit with me and we played and I chatted to her (in Finnish for the first time) and she was basically really happy Smile Then we did 2 circuits of the park and now she's asleep. Properly asleep. So I've made up her clean cloth nappies and am hooked up to the breast pump. Then I'll squeeze in some shut eye myself if I have time. DP will be home in 2 hours, I'm so excited to see him!! x

elliebug · 25/06/2012 16:24

i'm glad :o i make a point of tasting things i squirt down childrens throatsShock give to children. i think its cherry flavour!! i'm impressed with how much you've got done:)

Davinaaddict · 25/06/2012 19:19

Lots of chatter to catch up on again!

fools I'm definitely starting to worry about you, what with your crazy running and wanting twins as well Grin I wanted twins before we had DS, then I realised that there is no way having twins would be as easy as I naively thought. I mean, how hard can looking after a baby be, right? Grin It runs in both our families although distantly so there was every chance with both pregnancy Confused Did you find the cars/buy new ones yet? That cake sounds delightful - Shame you can't have any or share Grin

Glad you've ha a good couple of days Mamma despite the thrush Smile HVs are renowned for being complete weirdos a bit odd Grin Although I'm sure there are some lovely ones Smile

Fabulous news McKayz You're obviously doing a fabulous job Grin

How long before the drier arrives ellie? I always get stupidly excited about new deliveries Grin

So we've had a lovely day today with the inlaws. Lauren's still having her growth spurt though so has been feeding every 2 hours. Until we got to the 4 o'clock feed when we were stuck in the car so she had to wait til 5 Sad Hopefully she'll have a better night tonight though, having done not much but feed all day! We've got immunisations part 2 tomorrow so In dreading that Sad May take my SIL along for moral support Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/06/2012 20:33

Hi all! Smile
Well done mckayz!!! Sounds like you're making a real success of bf! Grin
Well done mamma! Great news that Violet is nearly up to her birth weight!
Fyfe had his 3rd injections today and has been a wee built grisly this evening but not too bad after Calpol and a few songs! We're off to the cinema tomorrow! Grin

elliebug · 25/06/2012 20:53

Good luck tomorrow davina
Dryer comes Friday Smile jake has been particularly vomity today so hoping for some nice weather to dry some clothes!!
Just wondering how you all manage to eat when your are without another adult? Or is it just me that can't get 10 min to eat my teaConfused

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/06/2012 21:39

ellie, I find eating at a table easiest, when Fyfe was very young I had him in the sling, I now sit with him astride one knee and jiggle my leg whilst I eat! If at home I serve my dinner in a bowl where possible as this makes it easier to eat one handed. Sometimes I can rock his bouncer with my foot if we're eating in front of the telly at the coffee table. Grin

elliebug · 25/06/2012 22:54

I did the knee thing but my whole body jiggled which made eating difficult, he went on his bouncer eventually and I scoffed!! I always put food on a table otherwise it gets kicked! Maybe I should look at it like a diet!! I advertised him on Facebook and got a few takers so I should be able to eat twice next week Grin

foolserrand · 26/06/2012 00:09

Evening all! Good luck tomorrow, Davina, we have round 1 on Thursday.

Glad feeding is picking up, McKayz and you have had a better day, Mamma.

ellie, I like toast. Lots of toast. Does that count as a meal?

Right, when I started this I was still on my endorphin high from my run. That's worn off now and I am SHATTERED!

Sending peaceful sleepy thoughts to all the babies!

MammaInTheMaking · 26/06/2012 02:08

I hope the cinema is fun trouble, what are you seeing?

On the night feed. DP says I've been doing lots of weird stuff in my sleep. Lots of worrying about Violet and thinking she's in the bed. He's been having to calm me down in my sleep.

Had the first big sick episode when we went to bed. It was awful Sad ellie really feel for you and Jake having to deal with vomit on a daily basis.... Any news on his appointment/tests etc re the vomitting?

Going to burp Violet very carefully now. x

EpicOde · 26/06/2012 07:43

Hey all, sorry for disappearing! Real life has been really hectic this last week and a bit. We're off up to Surrey today to get the results of MiLs Follow up CT scan to find out if the secondary cancer has grown/appeared anywhere else and discuss the treatment plan. DP has a rotten cold so is off work and coming with me (we only have one car so if it is bad news and he'd stayed home he'd have to battle trains to get up to where she lives, so better he comes).

Will hopefully be able to get online either tonight or tomorrow, so will try and catch up properly then.

trouble bun will email you both about meeting up when I get online, sorry it's taken me so long!

TroubleAndFyfe · 26/06/2012 07:43

Thanks, we're seeing 'Carnage' it's a black comedy. Can't wait! Grin
That's horrid about your frantic sleeping mamma! Sad
Hope it goes well today davina Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 26/06/2012 07:45

Xposts trope, I'll be thinking of you and your family today. Thanks

McKayz · 26/06/2012 07:48

Mamma DH does that. He is fast asleep but is utterly convinced one of the boys are in our bed. His Mum says he's always done strange things in his sleep.

Ellie you are a star!!! Thank you very much for the parcel. The kitkat was much appreciated!!

Rosalie slept in her basket for the first time last night and I got much more sleep.

MammaInTheMaking · 26/06/2012 08:00

I chat a lot in my sleep but I've been getting quite active, thinking DP is laying on Violet when it's just a pillow. I was looking for my cardigan last night Confused. Hope I start to chill out and get some better sleep....I think it's anxieties over DP going back to work...

trope I hope today's results are positive.

really need a morning nap!

Davinaaddict · 26/06/2012 08:24

Have fun at the cinema Trouble Smile

Eating can be fun ellie Smile I think the bf being the key to losing baby weight is a myth, it's just not being able to eat properly that does it Grin I second the toast thing. Or I make a packed lunch beforehand (when DH is about to hold the baby). Sometimes, when it's really hard I bf at the table and eat at the same time Grin Although Lauren does usually end up wearing some of it Blush

Sorry to hear about your rubbish sleeping Mamma Sad I can sympathise after last nights combination of DS's nightmares and Lauren waking for her feeds. I'll be glad when this growth spurt is over! Do you have any nearby friends/family you can visit?

Morning Epic Grin Good luck today - hope all goes well, and your DP's cold disappears quickly Smile

Hooray for sleep McKayz Smile How's the feeding going?

foolserrand · 26/06/2012 09:16

Morning all!

Epic (ooh, its fun typing that!), hope you get very good news and dp feels better today. Good luck!

Trouble, enjoy the cinema!

Was last night better for you, mamma? Really hope so. We have poor enough sleep thanks to these babies, don't need our own bodies/minds (delete where applicable. :o) disturbing us!

We had a scarily good night last night. Fliss slept until 5.30, fed for 10 minutes then went back to sleep and ds stayed in bed until almost 6.30! I feel goooood this morning!

We ordered ds a new garage yesterday as his original one is painfully flimsy and breaks if he tries to play with it. :( Hoping it arrives today as it was dispatched at 11.30 yesterday morning. Think I shall replace the missing cars, duplicates can always live at my mum's. :)

Oh, ds made brownies yesterday in the end. My goodness he's a good baker! Kinda undid my run though. Oops! Blush

MammaInTheMaking · 26/06/2012 11:19

Violet's really good at night, only wakes once for a feed and change which is so lovely. It all takes about an hour though as I'm expressing for about 20 mins too. do need to get myself calmer though. It would help if she had her daytime naps and let me sleep too. Hmmm.

I hope your DS's garage turns up pronto fools. Sounds like he's a right little baker! Speaking of good, I need some. Now to manoeuvre so Violet doesn't realise her bed has gone!

Oh yes, and drops going well. The tip of her tongue is back to pink. Just need the rest of it to get better.

Davinaaddict · 26/06/2012 21:27

Great news on the sleeping front fools Grin Long may it continue! As DS made brownies and not cake, does that mean you can share? Grin

Glad Violet's getting better Mamma Smile How has today been?

I've had a crappy day - Lauren was grumpy even before she had her jabs, so you can imagine how bad it was Sad She hit the roof! I had my SIL with me though which helped. I have her yet another bloody a feed which helped calm her down but she's been all over today. At one point she was wanting feeding every hour! Sad So I'm off to bed for a couple of hours after I've expressed some milk. Hoping for a good night tonight as I've a busy day tomorrow. Lauren & I are meeting ghost for a coffee at half 10 Grin followed by lunch with a friend then shopping to try find something gorgeous to wear on my BIG NIGHT OUT on Thursday GrinGrin I really hope it's not like most clothe shopping trips that end up in me being really pissed off cos I have vouchers to spend and yet still cannot find anything I like! But thinking positive for now Smile

ghosteditor · 26/06/2012 22:13
Grin
foolserrand · 26/06/2012 23:32

Sorry Lauren's been difficult today, Davina. Hope you find something gorgeous to wear and have a lovely coffee. Trying very hard not to feel jealous you're all meeting up but me :(

Well, I've had a good day I think. Dropped a dress size, my sugarcraft book came and I ordered some new board games to play with ds. Although, Fliss did have an intense vomit session this evening. Sofa, me, her.... she even projectile vomitted enough to cover ds' cars. Dh was really worried as she was retching. Seems fine now though. I even roped dh into helping clean, an unheard of achievement.

Every time I come on here at the moment I feel guilty as its all going so well here right now, ignoring the parents saga, and I know some of you are having to deal with some proper crap :(

MammaInTheMaking · 27/06/2012 06:59

Poor Fliss being sick. How did your DS feel about his cars getting a coating fools??

I hope you find something lovely to wear Davina. Also hope Lauren has been ok in the night.

Violet was much better yesterday. She had 2 long naps in the day and I even managed to shut my eyes for one of them. Our neighbour popped over during the other one. Bit of a harder night though, she's been up since 5 so feeling tired before the day has even started. In the night I thought I was expressing and had dropped the pump in the bed. DP had to calm me down and tell me I wasn't and I was sleeping. Gah, I hope I stop doing this soon!

It's hot in London again this morning.

Davinaaddict · 27/06/2012 08:16

Thanks fools Well last night Lauren definitely made up for being a grumpy pants yesterday. She slept from about 11 until 6! Although she did waken me up about 5 shuffling around Grin So, so far I've been up, fed & resettled Lauren (we don't let the kids up before 7 here Grin), ironed some of my clothes, helped DH get DS ready for creche, expressed 2oz of milk, had my breakfast and text a couple of friends Grin Early night for me tonight I think!
Fantastic news re: dropping a dress size - not Envy at all, oh no WinkGrin All that cheating running is working Grin
Hope Fliss feels better soon, and well done for roping in DH to help Smile

Whereabouts are you fools? Are there any of us nearby for a meet up? Are we still thinking of having a party meet up with everyone in November? Grin

Aaargh! Just hit paste instead of copy!!!!! Angry Sorry, and breathe..... and retype post to Mamma Smile

Glad you had a better day yesterday - I was wondering if over tiredness could be adding to your bad dreams as well as the stress? DS is suffering with nightmares at the moment, and I think it's because he's trying to drop his daytime nap. Even though he's not really ready for it yet. I hope you manage to get some more sleep today Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 27/06/2012 11:53
