Apologies for my cheekiness chunky

Chunkychicken · 24/04/2012 18:11

Lucky you Lolly!! I think it was like that with DD but then again, it wasn't quite like this in the 1st trimester first time either... Hmm

No worries Valium.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/04/2012 19:17

Anyone else getting headaches? I was lucky on the morning sickness front but my head has hurt non stop for over a week now. I seem to remember something similiar when I was pregnant with DD.

Ow.

Stuntnun · 24/04/2012 19:19

Welcome Enchanted and Barmee you're joining us at an exciting time as we're into the scans now.

Everso those tests are still pretty inaccurate so FC for you.

I have been worrying that this DC3 of mine will have Downs for some reason. I have myself so convinced that I was looking up adoption websites today Blush but I reckon even if the baby did have Downs, as soon as I saw him/her I would be besotted and want to keep him/her. My best friend is waiting for her adoption to go through and she has said she would happily adopt a child who is disabled or has learning difficulties. My DS1 has behavioural disorders (ADHD and Aspergers) but he is in mainstream school for the moment which makes things easier.

A bit of a rambly post there, I blame baby brain.

Hmmm tempted to take shellys advice (well rather the warning ) about to many grapes giving u the poop. I'm so bunged up. Sad

Today's treat (yesterday was a face mask) is a clean up of my nails Grin.

applepieinthesky · 24/04/2012 19:23

No headaches for me but my midwife said it is very common in pregnancy.

Tiago · 24/04/2012 19:35

Fingers crossed for you eversomuch. One more week and it wil be trimester two for me :).

I'm not showing either apple buy everything I read says that is normal, and my scan said the baby is exactly the right size for my dates, making me due on 6 November. I told a colleague today but also sworn him to secrecy until the end of next week as I have an appraisal and I intend to spring it on the appraiser without warning...

ShellyBobbs · 24/04/2012 19:52

GTbaby Good luck with the grapes Grin

Just compiling a long list of questions for the consultant that I'm seeing after the scan (under-active thyroid), I'll make them earn their pay.

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/04/2012 20:19

Thanks for the tip passmethecrisps headache is finally gone but have asked DH to pick some up as I have a feeling it will come back again.

eversomuch sorry to hear you had a bad result and need a cvs. Am impressed that they got the results to you there and then. With combined I thought they needed a couple of days to do it. Very much hoping your cvs will give you the all clear.

blonderthanred · 24/04/2012 20:27

Thanks for msgs. Am feeling a lot better today and a bit more rational. Was very bunged up all weekend (in a nasal not intestinal way) and did a lot of coughing, sneezing and noseblowing so I now think that may have caused the blood. There's been no more today so fingers toes etc crossed.

Also everything xed for Everso, such a worry for you. I really, really hope you get good news.

Passmethecrisps · 24/04/2012 20:36

Evening all.

Welcome to all the lovely new people today! How lovely.

I ended up telling a colleague today as he was asking about preferences for classes for next term and I was all like "err . . .". I was glad I did though - it's nice to have a chum. He assured me that the nausea, tiredness, oily spottyness and increasing derrière were not noticeable at all. I am not sure I believe him but it was a nice touch.

STILL NO SCAN DATE!! Aaaaaargh!! I think I might crack and book a private one. 12 weeks on Thursday and I just was to know that there is something in there and it is in one piece.

In other news, I have an aching everything and leg cramps. Had my quota of schweppes tonic so am off to bed in a cream puff.

blonderthanred · 24/04/2012 20:45

That's crazy Passme. I take it you've rung & checked nothing's lost in the post? Hope something comes through soon.

Still awaiting scan date:
Victorious03

Hello all. Sorry it's taken me so long to post but took a while to catch up on thread. All was well at scan. Took ages though as baby was dancing a jig for most of it! Sucked it's thumb at one point too. Have opted for tests so will see what risk is in a few weeks. Snap tomato - I'm also due on 2nd November.

Have told everyone in my office at work now. Everyone really happy which was nice. Loads of the ladies have got small children so have plenty of advice going round (as well as some horror stories - do I really want to know about those?!!!).

Went to see NKOTB first time around as well as last year (think it was last year - baby brain may have got that wrong!). Was fantastic. Didn't realise they were back so am also sooooooooooooooo jealous. Hope you have a good time.

Well I shall say good night as I am knackered - haven't slept much in the past few nights worrying! Hello to the newbies and congratulations to the good scans.

YellowWellies · 24/04/2012 21:03

Chunkychicken 10+1 is the first day of your 11th week of pregnancy, if that makes sense (because your first week of pregnancy starts at 0 and you are 1 week preggers at the end of it, the second week starts at 1+1 etc etc)

Passmethecrisps · 24/04/2012 21:11

In fairness blonder I haven't checked yet as my history app was only last week. I was hoping to hear by now though. I will call if I haven't heard by the end of the week though.

In bed now listening to Radio 4 . . . Rock and Roll!!

jenbird · 24/04/2012 21:19

Just trying to catch up on this thread. Apologies if I have missed anything out!

Everso I really hope everything is fine for you. I will have the tests done too. I am not sure if I could cope with a child with a disability but I don't really know what I would do if actually faced with that situation. Statistics are on your side. FC for you

Blonder I had some bleeding the weekend before last. This was followed by cramping and back ache. I was so worried but a scan last monday showed all was fine (the EPAU were brilliant and put me right at ease). I had a very small amount of bleeding again last friday night which was again followed by soreness. I think it must be my body telling me to slow down combined with all the changes. I am 10 weeks tomorrow so will hopefully get a 12 week scan date soon and be able to put my mind at rest.

On an MS front I feel bloody awful. I have to have a nap after lunch or I start physically shaking. Not sure what I will do for the rest of the week as my DD only does mornings from tomorrow. Today was one of the few times I have been physically sick and although it was vile I did feel better for a short while afterwards.

Is anyone else permanently cold? I seem to be freezing all the time. Why is this?

Stay well everyone x

blonderthanred · 24/04/2012 21:31

Thanks jen. Sorry to hear about your ms, hopefully it will start to ease off soon. Btw I have veered between freezing and sweating, sometimes both...

Evilwater · 24/04/2012 21:48

I just wanted to ask has anyone else had problems with people at work?
I have no idea if anything has happened, but I have had no more comments. Looking who I'm working with I might get some tomorrow.

I am very tired, and even had a kip on my feet at work!

The decetive I hope you start to feel better soon.
Jenbird, I only get cold when need to eat.
To everyone else Im glad the scans went well.

Chunkychicken · 24/04/2012 22:12

YW I get what you mean, but I am actually only 10 weeks pregnant & the emails say 'You're 11 weeks pregnant' which is wrong clearly. Just can't work out why they can't get dates right!! They did the same with all the developmental emails for my DD. For them, apparently, all months have 4 weeks... Confused

TheDetective · 24/04/2012 22:13

Ever Lovely to hear about seeing your baby at the scan. I am sure you have been told this already, but I try and think about it as your baby has 52:53 chances to have no problems. I hope the time passes quickly and your news is good xxx

applepieinthesky · 24/04/2012 22:18

jenbird I was the same a few weeks ago but I'm ok now.

That's reassuring Tiago I keep scaring myself thinking that perhaps there is nothing in there after all Grin

I like that Yellow It means I'm into my 12th week tomorrow. Yay!!

TheDetective · 24/04/2012 22:19

Little Lovely news! Congrats :)

Welcome to the new ladies and pips! (Growing ever bigger!)

I didn't do too well today, but this evening has brought some welcome relief.

I got my tangerines. I am in tangerine heaven. Me and DS sat in my car like a pair of ravenous drug abusers snorting tangerines down our necks this afternoon lol! I am eating some more now.

I bought a lemon, and more oranges too.

They are amaaaaaaaaazing! I got them in a proper greengrocers - not been to one since I was very young. Supermarkets ain't got nothing on these! Wow - the taste!

I'm hoping that taking it easier today will reap rewards tomorrow. Scan day tomorrow, nervous much? There won't be an update til well after 6pm, as my scan is at 3.45, followed by a full booking in all being well then I have to get to my mums to collect DS through rush hour traffic.

Chunkychicken · 24/04/2012 22:20

Jenbird I get cold in the evenings. Even when I've been perfectly warm all day. Weird. Esp as DH says I'm cooking hot!!

Been feeling better on the sickness front. Trying to enjoy it & not fret that its a bad sign/too early for 2nd trimester reprieve/ that I still have 3 whole weeks before the scan. Will prob find it's back with a vengeance tomorrow!!!

blonderthanred · 24/04/2012 22:22

Detective, I meant to say, after I read your tangerine post last night I was obsessed, fortunately we had a few left in the bowl so I took them to work and guzzled them like a good 'un.

Your snorting description just made me giggle and possibly snort.

TheDetective · 24/04/2012 22:28

Oh no, don't let me be responsible for a thread full of tangerine snorting pregnant women!!

I've never seen a 10 year old boy go mad over FRUIT! I have now promised him regular trips there. We got loads of fruit, for £2.08!! 4 oranges, bag of tangerines, punnet of strawberries, a lemon and 2 apples. That would cost 4x that in a supermarket! And taste nowhere near as awesome!

Every other kid goes to the sweet shop, mine will be going to the greengrocers Grin

I've just eaten some more. I think I have eaten 8 of them now. Possibly more. I lost count....
