Ooh I'm jealous of your holiday Ninja. I'm also wondering if I've been to the same place Grin, if it is the same, we had a fab time. Brooking for your platelets to have gone up.

Best of luck for today Scream, not that you're going to need it. I'm 100% sure you will come back this afternoon with your CS date booked.

Loopy I'm not 100% sure they'll suggest Friday 13th, but I do know that they will be doing ELCS's on that day if anyone agrees to it. ELCS's are done Mon-Fri at our hospital and my MW friend has told me that they're struggling to get people to agree to go in on that day for them so warned that they might try and convince me. I shall just say no, I'm happy to go with any other day. Scary thinking that it could be any time after the ECV. If they think they need to operate while doing the ECV I'll have a 2 day old baby this time next week Shock

Congratulations dream glad it went well!

NinjaChipmunk · 05/04/2012 10:31

hawthers I think they are near redruth?

jenfraggle · 05/04/2012 10:42

Congratulations Dream lovely photo of your boys all snuggled up together.

Yay for a great scan Far, hopefully now you can relax about it all a little

Boo to transverse and SPD scarlet. I know you are a little unsure about the 13th but at least it should be a little quieter that day so less waiting around and more chance of tea and toast?

Good luck scream although you won't need it I'm sure the no brooking spirit will make things right

Ninja you are coming to see me! Sounds like you are describing Retallack, if so then that is 10 mins from me and depending on when in May you come, I may have a baby by then. That's a scary thought

Off to the hospital today to see the Anaesthetist. Putting plans together just in case I need anything while in labour. I need some no brooking that I won't need any of it as if I do, I won't be able to give birth in the hospital I want as it is a MLU.

jenfraggle · 05/04/2012 10:43

Just read your message about Redruth. Can't think of any places down that way...

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 05/04/2012 12:30

Yay! I have a date! 25th April!

The appointment this morning wasn't much fun to be honest, this doctor seemed a little aggressive and very reluctant to hear the sound of anyone's voice other than his own! He kept saying things like "well I'm sure you think this... and I'm sure you think that..." without actually giving me a chance to step in and say "actually no that's not what I think at all". Ultimately however he said that as the other consultant had been through all the risks with me and agreed, plus my scan was fine, he was willing for me to go ahead with the op. Yay! He also said that as standard if I'm booked in for a cs that will be honoured if I go into labour early.

So now I'm focused on having an Easter baby! I will be glued to my ball from now on and doing everything I can to encourage this LO to make an appearance this weekend!

Such a relief after all this stress. At one point I really thought he was going to tell me to wait until Tuesday to get the original consultant to sign off on the op.

I'm still No Brooking that Scarlet's LO will turn head down before the ECV. The No Brooking spirit is unstoppable!

Dream how is it going today? I hope your DD is as smitten with the boys as we all you are! Hope your recovery is going well.

So who's next on the appointments list? Apologies for being so mememe the last few days, I'm back on full-time No Brooking duty now!

scarletfingernail · 05/04/2012 12:34

YAY for Scream's ELCS being agreed! The 25th April is a lovely date, if your LO hasn't already arrived by then. What a relief all that worry and stress is now over, you can truly relax now and try and enjoy the last few days of your pregnancy.

jen that's a very good point actually re the maternity ward maybe being a bit quieter...

TheLittleFriend · 05/04/2012 13:05

great to hear you've got a date scream x

fishcakefoxtrot · 05/04/2012 13:06

A quieter ward could be a good thing, scarlet. it is really busy here. I waited hours to come up to the ward after my section and then got very little help once dh had gone home despite me telling the midwife for our room that I felt nauseous and wobbly (think this might have been partly her, though, others have been lovely despite also being busy).

Jen sorry if you've already gone into this but do you expect there to be problems that might stop you going to the mlu?

Great news on getting a date scream hopefully you can just enjoy the next couple of weeks knowing it's all sorted Grin

McPopcornMouseNFries · 05/04/2012 13:43

Yay scream! That's brillopads, well done :)

hawthers · 05/04/2012 15:12

Clearly the threat of DS1 was enough for the consultant to bow to common sense and give you your date. Absolutely brilliant news scream. So pleased for you :)

Wants3 · 05/04/2012 15:29

I have a midwife appointment on Friday 13th,I had a choice of timeslots so maybe she won't run late or spend a bit longer with me! I suppose I will need to discuss my birth plan at some point as well. thinks she should write birth plan first
I am a bit breathless today, baby seems really high up and it's very uncomfortable when he moves ( which he does a lot!)

Biscuitsandtea · 05/04/2012 16:31

Yay Scream so pleased it's all agreed

Grin @ brillopads popcorn Smile

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 05/04/2012 17:43

Sorry to hear some of the postnatal midwives are being a bit rubbish Fishcake, how soon can you go home? Will be directing some No Brooking to make sure they get their act together for the end of your stay! I hope you're recovering well?

"Brillopads" is a woefully underused phrase - love it Popcorn!

I'm in full baby-priming mode now! I've just booked an at-home reflexology appointment for Saturday to see if that kickstarts anything (and if it doesn't at least I've had a massage Grin). Was it Purple who mentioned evening primrose oil some time ago as well - how does that work? I'm looking for nice gentle ways to encourage an Easter baby! I'm not doing anything like castor oil which could just upset your stomach!

fishcakefoxtrot · 05/04/2012 23:03

dream the boys are gorgeous! I hope you have had a good day. Any idea how long you'll be in for?

Am v much hoping to be out tomorrow- I feel much better now and pain seems manageable. Dd2 seems to be getting the hang of feeding and there seems to be milk there so fingers crossed it carries on getting better.

Any tips on how to manage this bit with dd1? So far she has been great but I think that is largely because she has been given a present from the baby each time she has visited. I'm not sure the baby can maintain this level of generosity.

Am Envy of all this holiday chat. however the mega move involves relocating to a city on the coast so perhaps this summer will be one long, lovely staycation [hopeful emoticon]

fishcakefoxtrot · 05/04/2012 23:08

scream I think the evening primrose can be used as a pessary to soften the cervix. I think eating fresh pineapple is meant to do something to kick start things too. no idea how or why though.

I have a couple of friends who went into labour after going on 'dates' with their husbands. They thought maybe it was the the lovey hormones that did it. (that's not a euphemism, btw- both couples went out for dinner!)

Wants3 · 06/04/2012 09:24

Ooh fishcake will you be joining pomme and I in our cities with cathedrals and Walls?
My braxton hicks have really ramped up in the last couple of days, just standing up from a chair seems to set one off! Maybe seeing my husband walking through the door next weekend will be enough to start labour off :)

DreamingOfPeace · 06/04/2012 09:41

Morning all,

Just checking in to say hello. Boys are totally adorable but nearly cracked me last night with near constant feeding/ nappy changing, vomiting of mucous etc .Part of the problem was.that little DD was ill, horrendous diarrhoea,so couldn't come in (I was gutted) and dh had to mostly be at home to help my mum with her and because she wasn't happy without me but daddy was second best, not grandma (bossy little tike!) So I had not much help in the day really, and overdid it reaching/ lifting/ changing babies so made my CS wound sore and was already shattered after 1 hours sleep and no rest since the boys were born going into the second night. We have made it though, both asleep on my chest now looking angelic, and I wasn't expecting a walk in the park anyway though not this hard either and expecting DD soon to visit Grin

Glad you're doing well fishcake will await all tips! Babies have got DD a present at least.

Oh, need to get back to boys...

jenfraggle · 06/04/2012 10:12

Turning that into a positive Dream, you managed even without DH to help you so it will be easier when he can. Your wound will heal and DD has been giving you practice in having disturbed sleep so you know you can do it.

pommedechocolat · 06/04/2012 12:20

Hang on in there dream! Jen is right, you did it on your own! First day so no practice too. You are doing incredibly. Just be careful with your wound. Enjoy your dd visiting :)

fish- yes, which coast?! From my five and a half week experience baby is a novelty and fun for a couple of weeks and then reality hits the oldest dd and things are really tough for them for a bit. Dd1 had her bday after a month and since then she's been better (she still howls at me if she's not properly distracted when I'm feeding though). So just go with it afraid :). The other issue we've got is really over enthusiastic cuddles that endanger baby's little ribs...! hawthers always said six weeks for the end of sibling rivalry and she was right.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 06/04/2012 12:45

Dream, sounds incredibly tough, but hang in there! Your scar will heal surprisingly quickly. Today will be better than yesterday, and if it hurts, ask for more painkillers. Hope your DD gets better quickly and can come visit you and release DH to come and help you during the day. Try to get some sleep if possible, although it's really hard to sleep in hospital because people keep coming in. Your babies are adorable!

Grin at brillopads. My Lancastrian granddad says that!

jaggythistle · 06/04/2012 13:12

sounds like you're doing an awesome job dream. i was struggling when DH wasn't allowed in till 2pm, never mind not being in all day! Blush and that's with one DS... lovely pic btw :)

my wound must have healed no bad eventually, even though i got an infection and ended up on antibiotics at 6 weeks, we were away for a wee holiday in St A when DS was 10 weeks old which i remember really enjoying!

nap time again here, he's still chatting away though and didn't have one yesterday so a bit worried he's working up to no sleep Shock

Wants3 · 06/04/2012 15:50

Just had a Skype session with DH so feeling lonely and emotional :( he is being worked hard, night shift and no days off yet! I almost wish I was working this week as I am just rattling around the house finding things to do to pass the time! DSs are off doing their own things and I wouldn't expect them to stay around to entertain their hormonal mother:)
I think I will go and clean the bathroom then maybe have a lie down before I have to think about preparing tea. Just me and ds2 tonight as ds1 will be at his GFs.
dream you sound like you are doing brilliantly and fishcake I hope your coming home plans workout ok.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 06/04/2012 20:53

Missing our chatty thread!

I do hope both Dream and Fishcake have had good days. Dream you sound like it's been a hard slog so far - you're still superwoman! I hope you have a better night tonight though.

Wants3 · 06/04/2012 21:12

It is lovely that everyone is busy with their snuggly newborns, it gives everyone a chance to keep up with the usually abundant chat! :)
