Evening all
I can't believe May is here either!
Congratulations wriggle! Lovely name :)
We've all suddenly got into preparation mode
! FWIW, I got my changing mat (and bag, although swore I'd try and avoid getting things that aren't completely vital) from a woman who makes them herself and sells them on eBay. Not particularly cheap, but pretty cute and original. I got the Russian doll one.
For practically everything, I've been hawking eBay like a fiend and looking at gumtree. I love that so much can be delivered nowadays. Cheap stuff on the internet + delivery to your home = double win!!
Those of you on the milk, OMG, I've been drinking Neskwick chocolate milk EVERYDAY for about 3 months. In fact, ever since I had my GTT at 27 weeks (blimey that seems like a lifetime ago). I have been obsessing wondering how I'm going to get my Neskwick during labour - do I make it up before we go to the hospital? Do I buy ready made stuff (not exactly the same thing, does that matter?)? How do I keep it cold...? Its been great for heartburn, and I feel like milk is nutritious, better than cordial. "Step away from the yellow box, Bodeccia! Step away"
(Loving the conversation about food!) Actually, I've been eating brie but it has been the President one when it was on offer from the supermarket. It is made with pasteurised milk rather than unpasteurised.
new: it could be you next with your show. From what I understand the baby can bob in and out of /5 until it is properly ready to come. I've been sitting at 4/5 for about 2 weeks now, and nothing.
sircharles: I took my rings off about a month ago, the first time I took my wedding ring off since DH and I got married 9 years ago :( I just couldn't bear it (or any of my other rings) on my hand any more. I haven't tried putting them back on again, I think I'll wait until LO arrives.
lime: I've mentioned a certain obsession I seem to have developed around The Game of Thrones (thank you for not judging me...). So I've got the first three stories, and they're in 4 books. Proper tomes. And they're so easy to read and I'm loving them. I'm trying to get to the end of the second book before the end of the second series finishes on TV.
For other first time mums: OMG YouTube! I've been learning how to swaddle a baby, breastfeed, hold a newborn, put a nappy on etc! I even found how to put up and down our second hand buggy (the thing was driving me crazy!). I haven't had the courage to look for an actual birth, but I bet there's one there... If only they had YouTube on Call the Midwife...
Sleep well everyone :)
