thanks for creating the new thread :)

catsy that really made me lol about the student midwife measuring from the 'entrance to your fanjo' haha! [Grin]

Thanks for new thread sircharles...

HeidiHole · 16/03/2012 16:47

catsy I nearly spat out my drink. You must have had quite a shock when she plunged the tape measure down there :D

Great new thread, this is THE THREAD where all the babies come! How exciting. And utterly terrifying.

googietheegg · 16/03/2012 16:49

Ooh can I join again? I was on the first trimester thread but have been pretty quiet.
I'm due 16th may and we're having a little girl, so excited! It's baby number one here too.
I can't add myself to the list as I'm on my phone waves to all

Catsycat · 16/03/2012 17:57

Thanks for the new thread SirCharles. As Winston Churchill once said "this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." or something :)

Have updated my stats, and googie have taken the liberty of adding you as well - hope you don't mind.

Anyone having any great ideas for combating the rib pain? I've tried the arm above my head thing but it just looks silly when on the train!

Thanks for the new thread, have updated as Sophia was born on the 8th :)

She is doing absolutely brilliantly, I had an hour long cuddle with no ventilation or oxygen at all today and she is now only having my EBM with no top ups through the drip so she will be putting on more weight, although she is now 2lb 8oz which is huge considering she was 1lb 10oz at birth :)

Am going to try and put a couple of pics on my profile.

Hello! Just marking my place on this shiny new thread...I fell off the last one again! As someone else commented I do seem to feed my MN addiction much more easily when at work and DH and I have been off this week...a productive week transforming the spare room into the nursery Smile so the cotbed and changing table are up, Moses basket and stand have come down from the loft along with all the other bits I've been stashing up there over the last few months and it was so nice to start organising it all! I even managed to get the curtains up and hang the nice spotty bunting up too Smile I can't believe I'll be 30 weeks on Tuesday as well! DH and I now enjoying a lovely relaxing few days away in a hotel as a treat before back to work next week...currently sat in the hotel lounge chilling out reading, chatting and playing on the iPad.

I also have a very sore pelvis if I sit in the same position for too long and at night. Plus am glugging gaviscon like it's going out of fashion to try and deal with the heartburn and acid reflux...oh the joys! beany is very busily bouncing around still though I think it may start to run out of room for too many somersaults soon!

luckynumber11 · 16/03/2012 23:21

Hi everyone, just saying hello on the new thread. Thanks SirCharles for setting this up. I can't believe the babies will all be coming on this one, it's really happening...so exciting (and a bit scary, I'm thinking I havent quite thought through how much life's going to change in a few short weeks). I wonder who will be next after gotmylittlelamb?
So pleased to hear how well Sophia is doing this week, and the progress she's made. Great weight gain!

mythical · 17/03/2012 13:40

hey! lovely new thread! although a bit scary... SO CLOSE NOW!!! :O

Mikocat · 18/03/2012 08:27

Hurrah! Marking my place on the new thread too.

According to the BabyBump app on my 'phone I have 45 more days to go - that really doesn't sound like a lot, but I guess it could actually be 60 more days for all I know.

Picked up a rocking nursing chair and matching footstool today, £40 second hand on eBay, which seems like a bargain to me.

Wrigglebum · 18/03/2012 09:01

Happy Mother's Day all!

When I was pregnant with DS, DH said it was bad luck to celebrate it. I was only about 24 weeks then so he probably had a point but i think we're all far enough along to give our babies a little rub through our tummies and ask them not to kick too hard for one day Grin.

I think this one is transverse still as I can feel feet by my waist on my left side and back and head along by my tummy button. Not got a midwife appt till 29th March so that's just me guessing.

Anyone else getting loads of hiccups from the baby? This one seems to have hiccups at least twice a day! What a strange feeling it is.

£40 sounds good miko. We have an ikea poang chair for feeding upstairs and downstairs; we already had them and I found it comfy last time but i know some people find them too reclined. That suits me as i had fast let down so if i was too upright poor ds was gagging. We had to replace the cushion on one after a major puking incident so now the one downstairs has a smart, wipe clean leather cushion on. I'll have to fight DS for it though as he loves sitting in them!

Right, downstairs for croissants then...

Langoria · 18/03/2012 09:37

Joining this group, now I'm on the home stretch!!

Due date is 30th May. %231
We don't know and don't care if it's a boy or girl so long as healthy :)

Yorky · 18/03/2012 10:01

Found you all - I could get very paranoid, go away for a couple of days and you all start a new thread while I'm not looking! Grin

Yay to meeting babies soon - i am really looking forward to not being pregnant for too much longer, although I think DH was a bit scared when I told him that from tomorrow baby has to wait 3 more weeks, then anytime in the next 5 wks after that was good!

Jealous of your cuddles littlelamb!

Off to read thread properly now, back later

Basse · 18/03/2012 20:11

Hello all

a quick hello from me on the new forum! All well here, after my rants last week, 2nd NCT class was very good so I am really pleased with it now Smile
got my littlelamb how lovely that you've had your first cuddle!

cupcakefairy · 19/03/2012 12:39

miko 45 days!!!! That really doesn't sound like a lot but exciting at the same time! We went to a nearly new sale at weekend & got a few more bits & pieces inc a monitor which we never had for ds & I wanted one this time so was chuffed with that. So many cute girls clothes there though almost made me wish we knew what we were having!

Hope eveyone is feeling well today.. I weighed myself this morning and gasped, I should prob hide the scales!! & yet I still can't stop eating like a horse!

SirCharles · 19/03/2012 14:17

cupcakefairy - i dont know what has happened but I spent the whole weekend saying "I am hungry again!". literally every hour.... no idea what is happening in there but can only fit a small amount in each time and then am starving within a short period of time. the scales agree - up, up & up they go!

Hope everyone else has had a good start to the week.

LittleSarah · 19/03/2012 15:19

Hello

Had a great weekend in the city seeing dd's show, she was fab. Also bought some gorgeous stripey wool so I'm finally knitting this little one a blanket. Really lovely wool if any of you who knit want to know it is Sirdar Summer Stripes.

More good news! Had my scan today and placenta has moved! It is now a good 3-4cm from cervix so they are happy for me to go ahead with home birth. So pleased! Smile

googietheegg · 19/03/2012 16:24

Hi all! Just had my last scan with the gyne and so now in the care of the hospital (I'm in France) so all getting close now! She's lying in the right position but still has room to wriggle about, so I'm getting some big old kicks.

I've also often had some really bad back ache around my right shoulder blade - other than loads of pillows, does anyone know what could help it?

Catsycat · 19/03/2012 20:33

Hi all. Hope you had good weekends, and enjoyed Mother's Day!

Yay for your placenta LittleSarah! Hope your homebirth goes to plan. I'm glad your DD's show went well.

littlelamb sounds like Sophia is doing brilliantly - very happy for you.

BlueCrane you sound to have been having a lovely time - good for you! I'm not Envy at all!!!

Got the actual results from my GTT today from the mw - the first one was pre 5.2 / post 7.8. The second was pre 4.4 / post 6.4. Really shocked at the difference. The DDs came to the mw appointment with me, and DD1 sat on the couch while the mw did the heartbeat - her face was absolutely priceless - very sweet! DD1 also got her 10m swimming badge today, after a few tries over the past few weeks, so she is very pleased.

cupcakefairy · 19/03/2012 22:10

Thanks for wool recommendation sarah will have a look for it as keep meaning to start a blanket for this one..can't have it being left out as I knitted loads for ds! Fab news about placenta/homebirth.

catsy that is a crazy difference, makes u wonder how many other poor women are given a gd diagnosis when they're not!

basse great news that nct class was much better :) really hope u enjoy the rest.

goodname · 20/03/2012 11:20

Cant believe how soon the babies are coming. Must get organised or at the very least clear the baby some cupboard space.
In lots of pain recently with sciatica and paracetemol doesnt even take the edge of. Hoping this baby comes early so I can get some sleep Grin. As if! Even though DS1 was and continues to be a very bad sleeper I still kid myself this one will be great. How unfair is it though that just when you should be storing up on lots of sleep your body (and the baby) manages to make you too uncomfortable to sleep.
6 Weeks on Saturday!
