I may not have an easter egg, but now I have three dozen chocolate krispie cakes with smarties on top. [bugrin] Now to not eat them all before cake club...

Hope the scan was good Beeble. I'm going to wish everyone a god norkling today!

MsInterpret · 09/04/2012 21:43

God nervkling everyone. Wink

Been awol as in Scotland visiting rellies for Easter. had to come home early today though as DD has chickenpox! Not bothering her too much at the moment, thank goodness. She's a real trooper when ill actually and survived a very long busy drive home down the M6 with no trouble, phew.

Great to hear all your news of scans and baby movements. i definitely felt a little flubbling in my belly last night and hope it'll just go on from here! Post. 12 week scan is a funny time I think because you know it's in there but you can't feel it and hopefully don't have so many symptoms. Great when they start moving! But it is early days for anyone who hasn't yet! Don't get worried!

Have we any twins on this thread yet? Could be yoooooooooou, later scanners Grin

Beeblebear · 09/04/2012 22:54

God norlking again all!

I'm here to report that I am NOT having the first set of twins on the thread. PHEW!!!!

The scan was great! Two arms, two legs and a wee little beating heart.

Baby was very cooperative and stayed still for all the measurements. Risk assessment came back as very low odds of chromosomal abnormalities . 1 in 9000 or so for downs.

Super pleased. Date was only off by 2 days, so now either Oct 18th or 20th, but I'm still sticking with "end of October"

Guess I'll add myself to the list now!

I'm currently 14+3 and still knackered - is anyone else finding this was hoping it would improve at 12 weeks, sob or should I be worrying about my iron levels do you think? Hmm

I'm also really breathless - even just walking to the shops. Some websites seem to think this is normal? Confused

GizzyBoo · 10/04/2012 10:21

Morning all Smile

Msinterpret are you chicken pox immune?? Hope your dd is feeling better soon Thanks

Great news on the scan Beeble. That pic was lovely. You can even see a wee nose!

Mouse I am permanently knackered and feel as if I am always snappy and biting my tongue because of it. The sickness has gone though it has been replaced with wicked heartburn. My tolerance levels have definitely taken a downwards turn!

The breathless thing is normal.....its all the extra blood volume pumping around and the fact your organs will be starting to squish up already!

My friend/old boss had a baby boy yesterday. There are pics all over FB. I got very emotional and rather cross that she has got hers already Blush Hormones Hmm

McPopcorn, I'm exhausted too - my midwife said the blooming/feeling less exhausted/energy rush happens around 18-20 weeks, so I'm holding on in hope. My mum says she never bloomed though!

Great scan, beeble, good leg! Can't wait for my next one (must remember to actually ring up and book it Confused).

Went to a bigger shop and now have a very large buttons easter egg. Grin

MakeTeaNotWar · 10/04/2012 12:33

God norkling all! I'm still bloody knackered too and 16 weeks tomorrow but my back is starting to throb after I've slept for only a few hours and wakes me up. I remember this from last time too but don't think it started this early. Guess it's things moving and the extra weight (already Blush) making itself known.

Has anyone done or is considering hypnobirthing? I'm going to a taster session on Thursday but it's quite expensive so will prob do Daisy Birthing instead from about 24 weeks. 16 week check up next week, as I can't feel any movement yet, can't wait to hear heartbeat and know that Bubs is ok!

thunder at 28 weeks, I'm sure you'll be fine and will prob have loads of energy, I'd def go. I guess if you were feeling really truly rotten you could cancel closer to the time? But honestly, you really should be totally fine and sounds like a great opportunity.

When are people planning to stop working? I'm looking at Sep 7th when I'll be 37 weeks.

GizzyBoo · 10/04/2012 12:58

I might try the hypnobirthing but I shall have to do it myself as nothing like that exists here.

Thunder I should think you will be fine to go at 28 weeks. I remember feeling quite sprightly at that point and it was by far my best part of the pregnancies. I always loved from 20-30 weeks when I had a lovely round pregnant bump but it wasn't too awkward. I also felt really well within myself.

HeyMicky · 10/04/2012 13:05

Hi all, hope you all had a lovely break.

Is anyone else BORED? Can't hear the heartbeat myself yet, next scan not for a month, no symptoms, just getting a bit fatter

Beeblebear · 10/04/2012 13:58

Mickeuy, not bored yet. Scan high still lingering. Lol. Next one is may 24 though so I imagine that the boredom will set in.

Yay to maternitu pants!

I say'd go for the class

McPopcornMouseNFries · 10/04/2012 14:12

MakeTea my SIL swears by it. I can't afford it (after my £190 NCT fee) but I have her CDs so I'm going to give those a go without the class itself I think.

Noooo, I was hoping everyone would say, "don't worry Popcorn, you'll feel better next week!" Shock :o

DameFlatYouLent · 10/04/2012 15:15

God norkling! Can I still say that in the afternoon?

Popcorn I'm 14wks and knackered and still nauseous. Last time I remember I didn't feel I had any energy until around 20wks so what pinpan says rings true for me. I seem to remember the nausea wearing off before now though...

I lent all my maternity gear to a friend who's due this week. I probably won't get the jeans back for quite a while (I lived in mine for quite a few months weeks after DS). Wondering when to start buying anything.

Thunder I reckon you'll be absolutely fine at 28 weeks to go on the course. I started getting more tired and uncomfortable around then, but nothing unbearable - and 30mins isn't far.

MakeTea My contract ends on Sept 10th, pretty much a month before my EDD (I'm hoping to save up some holiday so I can go off a bit earlier as my job involves being on my feet aaall day). I was hoping they might want to keep me on (I still reckon the woman whose mat leave I'm covering won't come back) but it sounds like it makes more financial sense for them to ditch me and get someone else Sad Unless they decide my position would be difficult to recruit to (awkward number of hours)...

I don't want to lose my pension and the counting up towards more annual leave, but equally, I'm not too thrilled about the thought of working at my current job when I go back. There just aren't many other options in my area in my specific field. Ah well, ain't much I can do about it all at this point.

Is anyone else still getting up at night to go for a wee? It's driving me nuts. I can't remember if this went on all through pregnancy last time. Trouble is, I wake up at 4.30am like clockwork, which tends to be when DS stirs - so if I go for a wee, he decides it's time to get up - ARGH. So it's lie in bed and try to sleep despite bladder agony, or get up and risk waking DS. Either way, I'm awake from 4.30am every. single. day. [knackered old hag emoticon]

Hooray for a 4 day week, anyway!!

DameFlatYouLent · 10/04/2012 15:45

Gizzy I'm midnight and 4.30! Last night my midnight one was a mad desperate dash - think I must've been very well hydrated yesterday.

McPopcornMouseNFries · 10/04/2012 15:52

Dame yep me too :)

I'm going to try and work as close to my DD as possible. I had thought about taking annual leave the few weeks before, but if you give birth your SMP automatically starts and you forfeit your holiday (unless your company will pay you it or let you carry it over - mine won't) :(

Pheebs24 · 10/04/2012 16:07

Hi all,

Not pleased to see peeps with symptoms past 14wks!!! I'm hoping like a mad thing I've only got a few more weeks of nausea :( I have actally had two days relief over the weekend which is a first but MS is now back with a vengeance.

Also can't believe the number of things falling apart in the house at the minute! Typical that DH has only been back to work a week and the washing machine is leaking, the kitchen sink has blocked itself and theres a really odd smell in the bathroom that needs investigating... unfortunately he works abroad so I'm on my own to fix it all. I normally pride myself on DIY skills and rarely trust him with tools but the idea of tackling sink-related gunk fills me with dread when a humble cup of tea is enough to make me want to throw up!!

I also came home to find a certificate for wife insurance on the printer - he seems to think the idea of him insuring himself against my turning into some sort of hag who can't cook is going to make me roll around with laughter Hmm

Emmiedarling · 10/04/2012 20:24

Argh! Got my cervical stitch op tomorrow!!

Just eatIng loads as I've been told to starve from 11pm. ( not something I'm accustomed to doing since I found out I was preg!)

I am also knackered.

Beeblebear · 10/04/2012 20:55

Oh my, I'm lucky if I only get away with 2 pee breaks throughout the night. Normally about 12 and 1, then again at 3 or 4. Guess I have been good about getting my 8 a day. Plus I wake up soooo thirsty so I normally have a half a glass before going back to sleep.

Perhaps I should put a humidifier in our room so that my mouth doesn't dry out while sleeping.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww to the clogged sink. That is OFICIALLY on the husband list in my house. Just the thought of it makes me gag.

Emmie - good luck with the stiching up tomorrow.

GizzyBoo · 10/04/2012 21:21

Good luck Emmie I hope all goes well. Will you be getting another sneak peak of the wee bean too? Smile

pinpan · 10/04/2012 21:29

2am and 5am for me! And last night it was so cold in the bathroom - they don't go in for central heating in NZ, but I'm seriously considering leaving a heater on in every room this winter...

What's Daisy birthing, MakeTea?

I'm going to aim to finish work at the end of August, when I will be about 36 and a half weeks, but probably carry on doing a bit of work into September if I feel like it. I think my work are pretty flexible about these things, so just got to figure out what the official paperwork needs to say! Same for coming back to work - I'm hoping that a vague, yes I'll definitely come back at some point between New Year and August, but I don't know how many days a week yet and nor will I until I find out if I have a perfect, sleep through the night chilled out baby or a colicky nightmare (like I was Grin), will go down well. Hmm

LoopyLa · 11/04/2012 07:20

Grin at Pheebs wife insurance - think my DH would be v interested in that!!

Good luck Emmie, hope it all goes well x
