Tea - hope they get an action plan in place for you - sounds very frustrating and a bit scary with other complications appearing. Are you just about 32 weeks?
Fingers crossed you are just going to get to meet miniTea a bit earlier than expected!

blondiedollface · 24/04/2012 15:39

Tea Sorry to hear that and as everyone else has said, I hope they get you an action plan and they're keeping you fully updated with what's happening!

As McKayz said anything you need or want just let us know, a couple of things in the post for you presently (let us know if they move you)! Fingers crossed that everything is alright for you and the LO and that you just get to meet MiniTea a bit earlier..

Lots of luck and hugs your way, stay calm, positive and focused and good luck!
Xx

Kveta · 24/04/2012 16:14

oh no tea and we're all moaning about how much longer we have to go, hope you do get to join us in the complaining, but who knows, you may well end up with the 1st June 2012 baby!

hope you get some decent painkillers soon.

sending lucky vibes your way! x

tea Sorry thins seem to be getting more complicated just as the bleeding has calmed down. Poor you, you're really having a time of it. I hope they are reassuring you and giving you all the info you need so you feel like you know what's going on. Fingers and toes crossed the contractions subside.

gwenniebee · 24/04/2012 17:21

Tea - can only really echo what others have said and hope that everything is sorted one way or another. You must be sick to death with it!

I'm chortling at the idea of us all getting our DSs into ballet to avoid cold touch lines! At my last school I had to teach games so I am well equipped for cold touchline exposure... but that doesn't mean I want to do it. DH is very musical and I have my moments so for us it's more likely to be hanging around some drap school building waiting for orchestra rehearsal to be over or something... just like my poor mum had to do with me. (On that note (forgive the pun) don't any of you let your little darlings choose to play the double bass until they can transport themselves!!)

I have NCT tonight which I'm really looking forward to but it doesn't end til 9.30! I don't think I can do that and get up for work on time in the morning! Not that I'll sleep if I go to bed, but at least I'll know I've tried! Last of the great party animals, me.......

Went to Boots on my way home to get nappies as they'd sent me a thing saying they're on offer, but the offer ends on 1st May. I'm a marketing man's dream. Anyway, SmallBee now has 102 nappies in newborn size (4-11lbs) and two different brands. That should see us few the first 24hours, right?

smallwonder · 24/04/2012 17:58

Teanhobs thinking of u and also joining the posty club should u need anything sent your way chin up you're doing fab!!!!!

smallwonder · 24/04/2012 17:58

Gwennie -- you do make me :)

bemybebe · 24/04/2012 18:32

This is really shitty BUT you are in the best place AND, most most most importantly, your baby is now so far down the line, s/he is good and strong and has all the chances to be born healthy and thrive even if with some little initial help. I was in labour at 24 weeks last year, so I can imagine what it feels like (shock, worry, fear for the lo, frustration, etc) and this time round I was almost watching the clock ticking and following day-by-day, week-by-week how close we are to this critical stage when we (lo and I) have all the chances. There are all the chances now for us and for you.
I admire the way you were and you are coping with such a worrying time, you are one strong lady, but if you need extra words of reassurance or just a sympathetic ear (eye?) - you know where we are!! XX

10000fireflies · 24/04/2012 23:08

Just a quickie from me as pooped after long day followed by NCT class. Thinking of you Tea. Not sure how you manage to sound so calm in the circumstances. Sending you lots of gentle hugs and positive vibes. And a load of painkillers which work! We're all behind you. FF xx

ceeej · 25/04/2012 08:32

Oh tea how awful, big hug from me, I really hope they sort out the pain soon. Echoing what others have said you really are in the best place and coping really well, hang in there. Also, I'm over in Pimlico and at home most days now so if there's anything you need I'd be more than happy to pop in to St. Thomas'.

gwennie you made me Smile picturing you carrying a small mountain of nappies home.

Tried eating my dinner earlier yesterday (7pm) and it definitely helped with the overnight heartburn, only problem is that DH doesn't normally get home til after 8pm so I may be eating alone for the next few weeks.

How are you finding NCT classes FF and gwennie? Ours start on Sunday, 10:30-4:30, fingers crossed for lots of lovely other couples and the energy to actually keep absorbing information all day!

10000fireflies · 25/04/2012 08:55

Ceej found the couples class really constructive (ladies only day a bit toooooo long for me). I think the men especially benefitted more than they might like to admit. It was quite funny how little they generally know. Hopefully the course will make everything easier esp as supporting partners now have a better idea of what the later stages of pregnancy, birth and first few weeks at home with new baby are going to be like. Really nice couples in our group. We all walked home together making social plans so is looking good generally.

Heartburn/acid reflux. OMG. Horrible, isn't it? Meant to get some Gaviscon yesterday but didn't bother and really suffered last night as ate pizza very late after class and then went to bed. Really regretted that at 1am!!

Lovely weather here!! If you haven't got torrential rain and wind yet, brace yourselves, it's on the way.

Hope those of you feeling poorly are hanging on in there. Waves to all. FF xx

McKayz · 25/04/2012 09:00

Morning,

Tea I hope you are ok. Thinking of you Smile

Asda have a baby and toddler event on at the minute and they have loads of offers on nappies etc.

We're going shopping on Saturday to get the last of the bits we need. I think I might persuade DH to go to the metrocentre Grin

I am also going to attempt to pack what I have in the bag.

Hope you are all ok.

thedogwalker · 25/04/2012 09:06

Hello all
oh tea thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs and feel better vibes. I do hope you can get some decent painkillers soon and that the LO decides to stay in for a little bit longer. A very good friend of mine had her DS1 at 31 weeks and he is a thriving 3 yo now, so just remember you are in the best place and the staff will be doing all they can for you.

I've not done any classes this time. I did them for DS1, but with DH being away, I've got nobody to look after DS1 whilst at the classes. I'm sure nothing much has changed. However, I do my own preparation every day as I listen to my hypnobirthing CD which I think prepares me, it did last time, so I'm hoping for same result this time.
Got a MW appointment today, she hasn't asked to see my birth plan, but so many of you have been asked to take yours, so I'm going to take mine to see if she is even a little bit interested, she isn't the best MW around. You never know she may surprise me.
Hope everyone is well, take care and sending more hugs to Tea xx

ffnorm · 25/04/2012 09:23

Morning - Pouring rain and wind here too,so a day in for DS and I,lots of house work type things to do just so slow these days... I've obviously made a constructive start to housework by logging in to MN

Tea thinking of you,it's been a crappy time for you. Have they said what the plan is??

Ceej we started our NCT refresher last week, had the woman only session yesterday and the last couples session tonight. Have found it interesting and hope to make some friends/contacts through it though we are only 5 couples. (2 of them did NCT together 2 years ago and have kept in touch since)

McK thanks for the heads up on Asda, stupidly I flew into Asda yesterday but was in a hurry so didn't even look around me. Do you know when it ends?May have to send DH this weekend as I'm at work. I really like their own brand baby stuff, like the baby bath and wipes and it's way cheaper than most Grin

ChateauMargot · 25/04/2012 10:06

Oh, Tea, huge sympathies. Keeping everything crossed for you and LittleTea. I'm in London and fairly free during the day, so please shout if there's anything I can do to help.

Kveta · 25/04/2012 11:14

hope all is ok today tea, do let us know if we can do anything.

weather is VILE here today, I am quite astonished, it does not feel like April at all! am just hoping my veg plants survive the onslaught, although even if all the rest are killed, I think the potatoes will love it. I actually have 2 surprise potato plants appearing from the bed I grew potatoes in last year, as clearly we didn't dig deep enough to harvest them all!! just got to hope they don't disrupt the other plants too much! we are going to be so sick of potatoes by the end of the summer :o

TDW my MW didn't ask to see my birth plan, but she saw it regardless :o I have a consultant review in 2 weeks, so will be waving it under their noses too, particularly the bit about the epidural. My MW is lovely though, but is retiring soon, so her last babies will be the June 2012 ones :( it's such a shame she's going, she is very well liked and well respected, but is sick of the NHS reforms in our area, which meant a load of hospitals have been closed down to centralise services.

gwennie are they disposable nappies? and if so, where is the offer? I have 27 nappies for baby so far, but got a voucher from sainsburys for some more yesterday - think they either noticed that I bouhgt a LOT of pg tests 9 months ago, then pg vitamins, or they noticed I bought some newborn nappies and maternity pads very recently - either way, it's spooky how they know I'm having another baby :o We don't have an ASDA locally, and I am not driving to Harlow to go to one It is not a pleasing place to visit.

I would have been due this week if I hadn't had a mc last august - how weird is that? pregnant for (near enough) 40 weeks, and still 6 weeks to go :o

right, back to the manuscript. It is my current baby, hopefully will be less painful to birth than the human one in June!

have a lovely day everyone, hope the weather improves soon!

OP posts:
McKayz · 25/04/2012 11:25

Kveta I had a MC at the start of last year. I ovulated and so conceived this baby the day that baby was due. I'm sure it's some sort of karma or something.

DairyNips · 25/04/2012 11:38

Ooh I meant to pop in to asda and check out the deals. They're selling the breast pads I use for £2 a box and I wanted to see if they had stock of the baby swing that's £35..

Sorry to those of you who have suffered miscarriages in the pastSad I consider myself very very lucky to have never had one considering how common it seems to be.. McKayz it does seem to be fate when you conceived, I am a great believer that lots of things in life aren't coincidence.

thedogwalker · 25/04/2012 11:46

Weather vile here too, wish it would all go away and the sunshine come out. It's been raining for so many days now, that I've forgotten what the sunshine looks like Sad.
Kveta I asked the MW about my birth plan and she said "Oh yeah I suppose we should be going through that, forgotten you were so far along!!!!"
Anyway she booked an appointment to come and see me at home on the 10 May to discuss my plan. She tried to give me some tips about writing prep notes for my birth plan. I let her know that the full plan was already written Grin.
My official due date is 11 June which puts me at 33+2 but I think I am due 16 June which would put me 32+4. I am measuring 32, so nothing conclusive. At least I am not measuring really big or really small. Blood pressure is holding up, 100 0ver 70 which is good for me, last time I was far lower, so at least I have more energy this time round.

Kveta and McK sorry to hear about your MCs but how wonderful for you now. Not long to go for any of us, exciting times are near.
Hope everyone is well, take care xx

CathFin · 25/04/2012 13:15

Constant rain here, very glad to find my hubby's North Face waterproof coat fits over my bump and my elasticated waterproof trousers fit - phew!

Had a quality morning with DS - bought him some new clothes and then McDonald's for lunch. Even better he is now asleep so I'm watching a bit of This Morning while outside we now have a thunder storm!

32 weeks today - walking is v uncomfortable so glad I made the effort to get out the house! Also eating dinner really early is helping the heartburn in the night I think.

Tea - thinking of you - hope its all going well.

CathFin · 25/04/2012 14:13

Just hired my Tens machine - don't remember it being £30 before - should have bought one of the ruddy things first time around!!

Kveta · 25/04/2012 14:22

I sent DH out to buy one when I was on day 2 of labour last time! must dig it out and get batteries too.

It is absolutely monsooning it down here. I have to go and collect the boy in a wee minute, and am wondering how exactly to get to the car without being washed away Confused It's a very wet drought, that's for sure!

OP posts:
McKayz · 25/04/2012 14:28

I've just got out of bed after falling asleep about midday Blush I went to sort out baby clothes and next thing I know I am waking up 2 hours later!

We got a voucher for Argos at our wedding so yesterday we got a food processor and a bread maker. DH has made bread and the smell is amazing. I'm never going to lose weight after the baby comes Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 25/04/2012 14:39

Kveta i'm another one who had an MC in August last year and then got preg again in Sept. We're both due at the start of June too aren't we (i'm 7th). Bit spooky! Baby would have been due last week for me. It's sad but also happened so ridiculously quickly i didn't have time to breathe before getting preg again. And now my head is just filled with this baby. Will never forget what could have been the first time round though...

Sending lots of luck to tea.

I have my 34 week appointment tomorrow, am really hoping the MW tells me where all the body parts are for this munchkin and that it's turned to face inwards now. It's been having a disco in there today having had a very quiet weekend. Going to do lots of bouncing on the gym ball tonight to encourage it to be in the best position.

Work's such a drag now. Not so much the work, but i commute over an hour in London each way and it's taking its toll. Am going to start home working more and more now.

All the best to those of you feeling sick and poorly. Our bodies should just give us a break. Don't need more yuckness added onto pregnancy yuckness!

Smallwonder · 25/04/2012 15:46

Any news from our Tea?
Hope you're ok!

Still pouring here too, am looking out of hospital window hoping that it'll be bright sunshine and happy days in 5 weeks +!!!
Still have 2 more sets of iron to have pumped in, had hoped to sneak away after these 3 but no.
I pressed the buzzer for the mw because the machine was bleeping (I do that when it finishes and hv done so when I've moved my arm and it's come out of place) and she got very ratty with me and said its just the battery nothing going wrong, sigh, humph, walks off. I appreciate they r busy and it'd been a good 10 mins of their beeper going off but geesh, cant I be concerned?
Had great mw the other day, an absolute gem of a woman -- not all it seems!

Still need pram recommendations! I'm still without.
