What frog said: I never had a scan I didn't cry at. You'd be Rambo if you managed to squash all emotion at this sort of time in your life!

Good luck with it & will be thinking of you.

WeeJo08 · 08/06/2012 16:55

Hi everyone!!

In case you hadn't realised what with all the gift giving, the scan went really well!! So delighted beyond words! Thank you for all your kind words, thoughts and vibes, it really meant so much to me today.

SO. Baby all happy and dancy, except at the beginning when it seemed to be post-prandial nap time so I had to do a fair bit of rolling around and coughing to get little bump moving. Once the movement started though, wow! There was no stopping it! Dancing, kicking, rolling around, stretching...it was so amazing!! I have also been put forward by a week so I am now 13+4 - really chuffed about that, not only does it bring my due date forward, it means I am now OFFICIALLY in my second trimester (you know the way different books say different things, some say 12 weeks, others 13) but now I'm definitely in the next phase! Grin

Had the nuchal measurement taken too, it was 1.7mm so, having looked it up as SOON as I got through the door, I think that is still good and within the normal range? I had the blood test too, so will hear back next week. Hopefully everything is okay on that front.

I got four new pictures too....I'd like to try and put them on here but have no idea how? Anybody know?

Thank you all again for being so lovely and I hope pure all having good days.

Jo xoxo

Maiziemonkey · 08/06/2012 17:37

great news Weejo ! the 2nd trimester is when you can have fun a bit and enjoy pgy a bit before get too heavy and heartburn-y so enjoy while u can!

You gonna find out the sex ?Smile

friedfrog · 08/06/2012 17:48

Woo Hoo go little Weejo!

I am so pleased that you feel better and saw your little bubba wriggling. I remember being completely amazed that all of that was going on and I couldn't feel a thing!

I am sure the other results will be fine too. Jars may be able to help with the pictures as she added a gorgeous one of Rosie.

Welcome the best trimester, its the one I felt the best in and it all started to be real, you start to get a bump, feel it move and get your energy back. Enjoy every minute :)

I took myself to the cinema to see what to expect when your expecting. I have to say I quite enjoyed it. I love solo cinema trips and thought I have no idea when i will get to do it again!

How is everyone else doing?

Maizie what have you got planned for mat leave? I had a non mummy bucket list that I am working my way through!

Jewels Cycling holiday.....gosh I hope the weather improves

Fish is that work done for you now?

Peace

Frog x

WeeJo08 · 08/06/2012 18:10

Thank you ladies!

maizie Yes - we are going to find out! Grin I am too bloody impatient and nosy not to find out! Hehe. Might have a laugh over the weekend trying to do that nub theory thingummy test. Anybody tried it?

Frog I saw What to Expect last week - I really liked it too! Cried (obviously) but laughed a lot too! I especially liked Elizabeth Banks' character (can't remember her name in it) who called bullshit on the whole pregnancy glow business! I also liked her blaming her farts on the baby. Sounds like a plan to me!

openerofjars · 08/06/2012 19:49

Hooray, excellent news! There's nothing like it, is there?

Okay, pics...

Go to the My Mumsnet tab at the top, enter your email address & password then, when it lets you in, scroll down and your last option on that page is "share photos". Simples!

Now get those pics on, young lady.

It has been a day of stains in the jars house. DH and I have been alternately covered in milk, wee, poo and puke, thankfully all relating to DD. DS was at nursery and therefore not culpable. This time. Got to go, loud baby...

WeeJo08 · 08/06/2012 20:41

Okay...I think I've done it?! Can you guys see the photos?

openerofjars · 08/06/2012 21:02

Yes! Squee!

Looks just like you Wink

Fishandjam · 09/06/2012 21:40

Hey dudettes!

Long time no speak - for which, much sorries.

DonnaDoon · 10/06/2012 19:03

Hey Fish...sorry to hear about your dodgy inards...sounds like you getting investigated though and hope you get sorted...Im ok just sleeping my life away...poor family forgetting what I look like (Not a bad thing I tell thee). Got my 20 wk scan on friday, I cant decide whether or not to find out the sex. I ve not found out with others so had nice surprises on the day and once I know I cant unknow IYSWIM. It would be handy to know in advance this time bedroom wise and name choosing wise but hmmmm. What do you s reckon ? (Hands out apple pie and cream.)

friedfrog · 10/06/2012 20:01

weejo love the pics! What are you referring to it as? I thnk we have Gary, Littlejars and twitch on the thread.

Fish Oh hun sounds like you are having a rotten time :( I am happy for you to leap me as you are having a pants time. I am with you on sleeping on your front....jars has just got all mean now she has de bumped with teasing us like that!

Donna Were you sleepy with the others? I personally would still like a surprise but its my first!

So any of you with experience know any tricks for getting things moving? We practiced pool inflation today............ :)

Right off to scoff a roast.....

Big love

WeeJo08 · 10/06/2012 20:10

frog Bump is known as Shnarf in our household Grin It's a little word that hubby and I have used for years kind of meaning cosy and snuggly....hmmm, that doesn't really explain things any further, does it?

DonnaDoon · 10/06/2012 20:17

Hi Frog I didnt sleep this much with the others but thats because I had less housework/washing/shopping/football tournaments etc . With each child the amount of work increases as you ll soon find out. Although no tips Im afraid on getting things moving mine were all earlier than date..Lots of walking with dog may contribute to that for me.

Maiziemonkey · 10/06/2012 20:49

Grin at shnarf as there was a character in thundercats that used to say that a lot.

Thanks Fish I am although really bricking it over stopping codeine this week and being in much more pain day to day. Went to see a chiro to see if that can help a bit.

consultant appt tomorrow.just checkups

Frog my sister made herself go into labour by pushing pram with 18 mnth old twins in up a steep hill- not sure I would recommend this to anyone but it did work. Sex is supposed to be the most sure -fire way to start things happening but not everbodys Brew at this stage of events. I am threatening DH with this "duty" if go overdue (to avoid cs) as I am vbac so they will not induce.

I didn't find out with frst Donnadoon but this time round and have no idea why felt differently- just did.

jars you deserve the tummy sleeping babe- you bloody earned it afterall Grin
< hands out dustbin lid sized yum tums and baileys cocktails>

Maiziemonkey · 11/06/2012 17:21

sorry mean "yum yums".
Weejo how did the nub theory test come out and what do you have to do?

Lora1982 · 12/06/2012 09:56

aww codeine. fixes all lifes aches n pains how i miss it. bf insists i cant have it while preggo even if ive got a banging head and a back that feels like it will snap. Cant wait to prove him wrong they sent my friend home with ot when she was in labour.

Got my scan date...for the 26th... praps then i will feel pregnant rather than just a lazy cow.

Morning all xxxxxx brocolli and stilton soup wont kill me will it? if it does sue Tesco for me.

hands out 4 giant bags of haribo and steals all the white jelly babies back

openerofjars · 12/06/2012 21:05

The sex is a lie! It does naff all. Sad Grin. Speaking of which, we got reminded at the MW visit today to remember about contraception. Bwahahaha.

Raspberry leaf tea is fab stuff: I started it two days before DD was born. And Ta daa! Okay, so she could have been ready to come out anyway. It is minging an acquired taste, though.

I have got my comeuppance: since my milk came in I am back to sleeping on my back, and if DD sleeps for more than two hours I get pinned to the bed by the weight of my boobs. That'll learn me. Grin

Fish, poor you. That sucks big time. Fingers crossed for you. My friend had an ELCS for her 2nd after a bad first birth and she said it was the best thing ever. Walked into theatre on the date of her section, got onto the bed, had baby delivered, felt a bit crap from the spinal, threw up, felt a lot better, cuddled lovely squidgy baby, NHS tea and toast. Her recovery was minor compared to vb, as well.

Donna, we didn't know the sex with either so both DS and DD spent their first days in fairly neutral kit and then people gave us baby boy or baby girl clothes as presents. Luckily, they were both about the same size but tbh a lot of DS's stuff is no use as DS was a winter baby so we have a load of snow suits and jumpers that will boil her even in a crappy summer. Anyway.

Have a nice one, my dears. I am off to get some sleep before DD craps or spews all over me again. How she can be putting on this much weight [stealth boast] while covering me in effluent, I have no idea.

ImprobableNotImpossible · 13/06/2012 13:21

Hello,

I've had a name change, but it's PhoebeC here.
I'm not sure if anyone will remeber me from my spectacularly unsucessful IVF 18 months or so ago. jars perhaps and maybe wino

Anyway, after over 5 years, one IVF cycle, one very serious consultant appointment where we were told no point in more treatment and lots of telling ourselves we'd be fine and childlessness wasn't the worst thing in the world...

I'm pregnant. (the totally ordinary and normal way and a complete surprise.)

Only 5 weeks tomorrow, so seriously early days, but everyone on the old thread was so amazingly supportive when I was having a shit time I thought I'd just poke my head in and say hello.

friedfrog · 13/06/2012 14:04

Improbable welcome and massive phat (oh yeah I am so cool)! COMGRATULATIONS!

Welcome to the madness! Everyone here is lovely

Will post properly later, off for a swim!

Frog x

openerofjars · 13/06/2012 22:42

Improbable! Mwah! Massive congrats, dude!

I'm actually welling up here, so very pleased for you. Grin

Fishandjam · 13/06/2012 23:28

Quick update: baby Katherine born yesterday at 2035, 7 lbs 3.5 oz. Not too shabby for almost 3 weeks early! Still in hospital (hence the quick update). Will bore pants off you with marathon birth story when I get outta here. But suffice it to say, mobile epidurals ROCK.

OP posts:
ImprobableNotImpossible · 14/06/2012 01:06

Jeez Jars welling up? You've gone all girlie now you've had a baby.
It wasn't like this on the old thread.

Lovely to hear your happy ending, many many congratulations.

And congratulations fishandjam

friedfrog · 14/06/2012 08:32

OMG Jam congratulations! I can not wait to hear your story! Great weight for 3 weeks early too!

I hope youre feeling ok and having lots if snuggles/sleep!

Much love
Frog! Xx

WeeJo08 · 14/06/2012 11:29

Congratulations Jam!! 3 weeks early and over 7lbs - that is fab! Looking forward to hearing all about it!

Hello improbable - nice to meet you! :) Hope you're feeling well? My symptoms kicked in around 6-7 weeks...though I got off pretty lightly! I'm not an expert on anything but I'm good for talking rubbish to! Grin I'm 14 + 3 today. (My first.)

frog How far along are you? Have you been swimming all the way through? I've just started swimming (well, since finding out) as wanted to get through first trimester first and I'm really enjoying it. Going to try out my leisure centre's Deep Aqua Fit classes (you do it with a buoyancy belt thingy around your waist) - has anyone else tried it?

Maizie The nub theory is best explained here: www.parentdish.co.uk/2009/06/03/nub-theory-baby-gender-prediction-at-12-weeks/ Needless to say I haven't been able to work it out as I can't figure out if the bit I think is the nub is actually the nub.

jars How are you? Less puke-covered?!

jewelsandbinoculars · 14/06/2012 12:57

Alreet landlubbers, how hangs it with all of you? I am off on hols on Sat and have loads to do and am doing precisely none of it.

Fishter congratulations! Great news. Another beautiful name, too Looking forward to hearing about your travails

Improbable/phoebe that?s wonderful news! You won?t recall, but I started hanging out with the whisky drinkers just as you were coming to the conclusion you needed to step back, and I very clearly remember you being welcoming and supportive despite my OTT and presumably extremely irritating infertility paranoia after six months ttc. Thanks for that. I?m really, really happy to hear your news and have everything crossed for you. I know how totally nerve-wracking and surreal the early bit can be. (I had a MC last year, but am now 16+5 and things seem to be going ok).

jo belated congrats on the scan! lora I wouldn't sweat the soup. I ate an entire wedge of brie the other day it was an emergency, don't judge me

wino 1.5 days and counting?Hope you?ve got your feet up on the desk eating buns (or some GI acceptable equivalent) whilst some harried locum has to try and get their head round your job.

In other news it?s sticky toffee puddings, today. Would you prefer custard or clotted cream ice cream with those?
