PetiteRaleuse · 05/03/2012 21:43

PetiteRaleuse · 05/03/2012 21:43

ENSMUM · 05/03/2012 21:51

Hi all,

I'm due on 7th Nov. DD1 will be almost 2 by then. Very excited, but also a bit worried about how to deal with a baby and a toddler at the same time!

GTBaby - I'm with you on the hunger - was up making toast at 4 am last night!

Iheartpasties · 05/03/2012 23:12

I must get myself a GP appointment and go and see them and get all the bloodwork done. I live in Australia, near Sydney. Over here they are quite strict about having the 12 week scan bang on 12 weeks but I will be in the UK when I am 12 weeks! I will talk to the GP about this and see what they suggest. maybe I could get an early scan to double check the dates etc. It would certainly be nice to see if everything was ok. I am already pretty excited about this pregnancy so I guess a scan would put my mind to rest and then I know I would be able to tell all the family when I see them face to face. I'm not sure, I'm torn, we'd have to pay for the scan so it does seem like a waste of money in one sense, but just to see a little heart beat would be amazing! I will ring the doctors today and then have a heart to heart with DH tonight.

GTbaby · 05/03/2012 23:35

Ensmum I just ate 4 slices of toast. Actually made me feel a lot better. Off to sleep now before the sickly feeling comes back.

Night night all u November bakers Grin

blonderthanred · 06/03/2012 00:24

Love the username OMGBFP! That's pretty much how I feel at the moment.

Nearly cried at work twice today but managed to rein it in. Boss is also pg and her talking about it set me off although I don't want to tell her about me yet. Still just DH & my secret.

Feel a bit twingey and not quite sick but like I could do with a good burp, iykwim.

Btw my stats are [35] DC1 - I can't add them as on phone but if anyone feels kindly please feel free to stick that in!

Hope you are all enjoying your pg and feeling excited and positive.

Tiago · 06/03/2012 06:57

donnadoon I am really glad it's not just me.

horseylady you don't need to do multiple tests. I just do them because I have already miscarried twice and I need to reassure myself that the " you are pregnant" line is not fading. On the contrary it is getting stronger by the day, which helps reassure me that things may work out this time.

Of course, I have still had bouts of paranoia - my best being when I started wondering if the control line was actually the pg line (as it is pretty weak) and making DH also POAS so I could have a test without a BFP to compare against! Needless to say, I did not have cause to worry. He's such a patient man Grin

Belgrano · 06/03/2012 09:52

Tiago that's hilarious!! I love that you made your DH poas!!! You've made my morning...

OMGBFP · 06/03/2012 12:00

blonderthanred at pushing 40 and being on the pill and not trying and having had secondary infertility for years and being referred to the fertility clinics with my ex husband, believe me my name is an understatement!!

The news is slowly sinking in for us both anyway, I accidentally told a friend who came round last night - DP explained my looking rough by saying I had a temperature and felt a bit urgh, friend said you need a brandy and a cold shower, I instantly retorted I thought it was gin and a very hot bath for this? and then realised what I had said and looked at it dawning on him and DP going Shock behind him Grin oopsie!

Who has everyone told yet?

It's DMIL birthday soon and toying with announcing it in a fun way, maybe wrap up a test as a gift or is that gross since I piddled on it? Blush tshirt with Grandma on it? Ideas welcome as they'll be nicer than mine :)

I've got that "AF is coming" feeling and thought I might have felt a tad Envy in bed last night (but I had just eaten two slices toast and a bowl of spaghetti in bed about 30mins before Blush )

Onamission28 · 06/03/2012 12:14

lol at THIAGO's hubby. He sounds like a keeper.

Haywire · 06/03/2012 12:23

I told work yesterday - awkward as I run a business with friends but massive relief having told them and they were all chuffed and lovely about it phew. a bit of logistical nightmare for them I have another job too but that is self-employed so less tricky to sort out.

have told no-one else yet but going to have to tell my brother as he has all our baby stuff and has been lending it out to all and sundry!

Tiago that is so funny that you made Dh POAS I did another test yesterday as had a 2 pack of CB digital Still pregnant Grin

OMGBFP sounds like quite a surprise! I just feel like I am permanently sea sick
at the mo Envy liking the vom face. food helps but can't stand the thought of making it. potentially difficult as I run a cafe hope this doesn't go like last time I couldn't even bear to open the fridge

OMGBFP · 06/03/2012 12:27

Oh dear, if you help run it can you not delegate others to deal with the food and you deal with the customers and the admin maybe?

Haywire · 06/03/2012 12:39

yes I am sure there will be a way around it I usually make a lot of the cakes and things will have to supervise from a distance!!!

for MIL maybe a photo of the test would be better than the real thing IYSWIM. is it her first grandchild?

so what kind of age gaps do people have my dd will be just 5

blonderthanred · 06/03/2012 12:41

Well it sounds like you more than deserve the moniker OMG. I'm 35 and been ttc for nearly a year so was expecting to start down the route of AC following no signs of ovulation in blood tests. This month I got my first positive opk ever and then this. It's still sinking in and I still can't believe it will stay, but at the same time v happy and enjoying reading up and symptom-spotting.

We haven't told anyone yet, my brother thinks I'm just being especially weird at the moment (he lives with DH and I). Was thinking of buying a 'Gran' card for my mum on Mother's Day but don't know if I can wait that long... and if something bad happens I'd rather she knew about the pgy. We're seeing the in-laws in a month (abroad) so we may tell them then, or again sooner if it seems appropriate or we are just bursting with the news!

OMGBFP · 06/03/2012 15:20

well DP has invited them over tonight he wants them to know asap so i have gone and bought a card and sticky taped a cheapy thin test on that I did just now (nice strong line despite the time!) and we'll write something in it, yes it's her first she is totally desperate to be a Nan :)

Dp says he feels like a naughty schoolboy who's parents have found out he's been having sex, um we live together and I kind of think they will know we do DP! he wants them to know ASAP in case things do not go to plan and we need support which is fair enough, lots more risks when over the magic 35.

Will report back later!

wifey6 · 06/03/2012 15:21

Hello ladies...still can't believe how many of us are due in November! Is anyone else fluctuating between feeling nauseous & then eating loads?!Blush I've also been feeling very nauseous to the point I burst in to tears. Has it sunk in for any of you yet?

OMGBFP · 06/03/2012 15:48

Valentine's fault in a lot of cases I bet Wink

I'm having reverse cravings, I don't fancy eating anything much at all. except toast.

wifey6 · 06/03/2012 16:19

I was the same the week I tested & also last week but the last few days I am eating more- OMG...your story is amazing- congratulations!

horseylady · 06/03/2012 16:31
