It's dc 2 for me!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ellesabe · 11/03/2012 22:18

justonemore I think my due date is 14th Nov too :) I did a clear blue digital this evening and it said 2-3 weeks so I suppose that's confirmation enough! Woop!

I'm going to the gp tomorrow as I think I have a throat infection so will mention it then but otherwise I think it's fine to leave it a few weeks.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/03/2012 06:45

Test this morning had a much darker line woohoo! I didn't have to hold it up to the light or anything and even dh could see it Grin
I'm still going to do the tesco digi in a few days though!

I'm not too sure when my due date is because I think I OV later so I think I'll wait til the scan and go with the date they give me.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 12/03/2012 07:38

Great news DHW I hope you can relax a little easier now :)

Is anyone else finding themselves getting really hot?
I have woken up the past few morning dripping with sweat, it's pretty gross, usually I am one for bundling up because I am freezing, even in summer!
College this morning, exams ahoy! Combined with sickness, hurrah... Hmm

crazykat · 12/03/2012 07:38

That's where I'm sort of lucky Stuntmum, I'm doing DD101 which is 'only' 7 TMA's and so far I've done one and stuck on the next.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 12/03/2012 07:52

Also, before I shoot off to college.

Has anyone already got really swollen? I know this sounds silly but I have gone from having a flat (although slightly wobbly) tummy, to having a hard pronounced rounded one. At 4 weeks I aware this isn't baby, but wtf?? I look 5 months pregnant!

As for when to see the dr, I saw mine last week because of all my blood issues but he said that he was glad I had because the multi vitamin packs for pregnancy in supermarkets often had the wrong amounts in them so he was able to give me separate folic acid and calcium & Vit D combonation.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/03/2012 08:19

Yy my tummy looks a good 4 months gone esp after dinner. Also finding it hard to stop rubbing it like every other preg woman!

I think after your first your body knows what to do and starts growing bigger earlier. That's what I read anyway!

horseylady · 12/03/2012 09:20

My belly ok in fact I think I've lost weight as I can't eat much. Also not sleeping so am shattered. Nearly called in sick this am. Another ou student too!! I'm doing a postgraduate module s808! Thankfully no exam but a presentation! Might get sympathy points lol. Thrilled I'm expecting but means my next 2 modules are on hold until 2013!!! Would have been good to finish my masters but hey!!

Bimbledorf · 12/03/2012 09:33

TBS! I hear ya...seriously I honestly look like I conceived months ago. considering the baby is apparently only a mm at the moment it is really annoying to be so big so early - not even 5 weeks yet!

I'm thinking it's going to be very hard to hide from people before we announce it!

Jayney10 · 12/03/2012 10:28

welcome newbies! and congrats on your dark line DH - I got a really strong line this morning too, on the day AF was due so am now starting to actually let myself think I might be pregnant! Think I might get a digi anyway just for the hell of it - spend some of the drinking money I had stashed for this weekend!

I look preggo too even though I have lost a bit of weight. You get reet bloated when you get pregnant and I have seen my second time round pregnant friends in maternity jeans at 10 weeks :0) I find it a bit uncomfy to lie on my stomach at night already too! bonkers. And am having the most bonkers, intense 'loud' crazy dreams!

I have my toddler back today so much life is all complete again :) I also have my best friend come over in a bit and can't wait to tell her as we shared each others ttc journeys over the past year. She will be soooo chuffed!

Anyway memememememeeeee I apologise. Good luck to you OU peeps and UG an exam being pregnant would be my nightmare! Utmost respect. And to those giving up smoking, you can do it!

I hope you are ok horsey lady, hormones are a bugger. Though hormone crying for me makes me laugh so I look doubly crackers, crying and laughing at the same time - usually on my own ;)

regarding the docs I am off tomorrow (only 4 weeks); they had an appt then and I think it would be nice to get in the system. made it feel all rather real too :) I did need to go about something else anyway. It's going to bug because I have 33 day cycles and know exactly when I ov'ed but I know he will get his little wheel thing out and give me an EDD a week out of date.

is anyone else having near constant horrible AF type cramps? I could hardly sleep last night for it - so uncomfy :( was worried but my pg test line this morning was darker so think it is all a-ok. Is just a constant dull ache, not anything sharp or stabby or anything. I dunno, maybe i shall tell the doc. a good walk might sort me out.

have lovely days y'all - sorry if I missed anyone's post but wow this thread moves quickly!

x J

jayney same here with the midwife giving me the 'wrong' date because I'm sure I OV late and that would explain the really faint lines on the day AF was supposedly due. But at least we'll get our 12 week scans sooner iyswim so we'll be more like 11 weeks.
I think due dates are a v rough guide anyway, in just expecting this one to turn up sometime in nov!

Have horrible cough. I am drinking hot water with honey and lemon to try and soothe it. Have a doctors appointment tomorrow about gallstone pain. I want to know how I can manage the pain when the attacks come. So far I have cut out all fat and am living on fruit and veg. It is difficult and I am craving cake and chocolate! My scheduled surgery to remove gall bladder has been put on hold until baby arrives.

Hope you are having a good day x

AbsToni · 12/03/2012 12:05

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newbies - congratulations also to the people with darker lines!:):)

I am too busy to post very often but enjoy catching up with this thread every now and then.

To the girls quitting smoking - I saw someone recommending whyquit.com/joel/ and I just wanted to confirm that this website can be an amazing aid into quitting !!! From a heavy passionate smoker, I quit cold turkey on 1st Jul 2003. The collection of articles is amazing. Quitting is such a pain ? you have my sympathy girls. I can imagine on top of all my pregnancy symptoms at the moment if I had to fight such a major thing as quitting pfu......it must be hard but hey ? you have no choice. Just need to survive through the symptoms of withdrawal. Everyday will get better for sure so take each day at a time. And just wait until you have your first day without thinkingof a cigarette ? it will surely come.

I think TheDetective was saying somewhere that she is living happily in her own little world and I could relate so much to it ? wanted to share that my best friend is visiting for 2.5 weeks with her 9months old boy and now all that I hear in relation to my pregnancy (first for me) is about how when she was pregnant this or that. Brrrrr J J I find it very funny that these comments annoy me so much ? in my world my pregnancy is special and unique and mine and I don?t want it compared to someone elses or being told how to feel or not to feel. I feel the way I do, I have a cheeky smile on the inside ;)

Finally, I wanted to ask you about stretch-marks creams, etc. I think if starting to rub now everyday one that I got from Boots ( I think is Palmers). Has anyone else started yet ? I am 6+2 today. I wonder about boobs creams as well..........there was one from Palmers but smells terrible. No way putting this on me. Also my DP and best friend confirmed it smells bad (so is not only my preggo?s sense of smell). So experience, comments, thoughts?

babynewey · 12/03/2012 12:12

Hi everyone

got my BFP on saturday - due around 11/11. doesn't feel real yet - im excited and terrified. We were on TTC for 3 months, and i was convinced it would take us a while so it was definately a bit of a shock. on my and my husband know so far and I told my midwife friend last night because I thought I was going to burst! Congrats to you all, looking forward to sharing this experience with you all and making new friends :) xxx

ellesabe · 12/03/2012 13:25

Hi all, can't do a massive post now as I have loads to do while dd is asleep.

abstoni - I used bio oil on my tummy when I was pg last time and, whilst it is quite greasy, it does do the trick. Unfortunately mine ran out when I was 36 weeks gone and I couldn't be arsed to spend the money on another bottle. One week later...stretch marks as far as the eye could see! And they're still there 16 months later Sad

My throat is much better today but I called the doctors surgery and they said I didn't need to see a gp about the pregnancy, she just booked me straight in to see the midwife in two weeks. Result!

OMGBFP · 12/03/2012 13:35

Another not eating or sleeping properly horseylady didn't sleep well at all for pretty much all of last week and only just got up at 1pm Blush must have needed that catch up! havign some dubious things to eat for breakfast, yesterday was a cheese pizza, today was some mushroom savoury rice even though have only eaten half a bowl and feel full now, I figure as long as I eat something and keep taking my preg blend vits it'll be fine. Next week i probably won't be able to stop eating!!

Re stretchmarks - nothing you can do to stop them, don't waste your cash on a cream - you are genetically pre-disposed to getting them so if you are going to get them you will and nothing much you can do about them! Creams will make it feel less itchy and dry though. Save your money :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/03/2012 17:00

Ds is teething and has been whining all day and has a v sore bum. Nothing like a toddler to bring your cuddly cute newborn thoughts crashing down to earth!

I wonder what he'll be like with his new brother/ sister. I can't wait to tell him so he understands, he'll be 2.4 by the time this one comes along so a nice age gap I think.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 12/03/2012 17:04

Thats a lovely age gap. Our dd will be 3 in November. We struggled to conceive this one and managed it only because of Clomid! Hence scan next week to see how many are in there!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/03/2012 17:07

Ooh good luck to you I'm sure all will be fine in there! I'd love an early scan but don't think I can justify paying for it.

My sister paid for a 3d scan at around 18 weeks to find out the sex and check how thins were going and the pics are lovely and it was nice to see him but it cost around £100, I'd do it if I had the money spare.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 12/03/2012 17:08

I am sat up the hospital, waiting to be stabbed for my blood, my friends baby has Rubella and although they are sure I am immune they are double checking.
Still a bit of nausea today, a few episodes of sore boobs and tiredness, always with the tiredness.
I told DP's Mum today, she asked me outright if I was pregnant and I wasn't going to lie to her face, I asked DP first and he was fine with it, she is happy although worried naturally, she really got excited last time then I miscarried.

I can't wait for the boys to be in bed so I can sit down, have a cuddle with DP and a cuppa (decaf) tea. :)

Tiago · 12/03/2012 17:11

tits are you having on/off boob soreness? Mine is more off than on at present and I am getting very anxious about it all.

Hope the immunity is there. xx

TitsalinaBumSquash · 12/03/2012 17:12

I notice the odd twinge here and there, deffo more off than on. :)
Sometimes I feel great, sometimes I feel utterly rubbish. With both my boys I felt really unmanageably bad from the word go so it is a concern especially with my history.

OMGBFP · 12/03/2012 17:30

I'm branching out from my cheese/bread based must haves tonight, got a lasagne in the oven, please wish me luck!!

horseylady · 12/03/2012 17:34

Looks like I'm going to be spending the night at the hospital as mil has taken turn for worse. Swear with all the stress I've had since I found out I was pregnant I'm not meant to have this baby :( people say a healthy one will stick through pretty much anything let's hope so!

OMGBFP · 12/03/2012 17:36

oh no horseylady Sad thinking of you all x
