Sounds good kiki, mon or wed ideally as DH can drop me off (PGP flared up again).
Must be odd waiting for it to happen, all that symptom spotting like you're all saying! bee my mum was induced with both of us too and had quick labours with no pain relief, hope it goes really well, enjoy it! Grin I'm back at home today and loving it, cuddled up on the sofa with Fyfe right now. Grin

Hi all! [waves]

Just back from the hospital - had an appt with the consultant re my polyhydramnios that was picked up at my placenta scan a few weeks back. Consultant was absolutely lovely, very informative and friendly and kind. She said the results of my scan shouldn't worry me too much because they're not wildly off the chart and it's great news I don't have GD. She said there could well have been a lot of fluid around the baby at the time of my scan simply because he/she had just had a big wee (bless!)

So...She doesn't want to induce me as she's a big believer in letting nature take its course where possible and not having to get me drugged up from the get go. Great news. She does think I'll deliver early or on time, just like my MW said!

Feel much more relaxed about things now Smile xx

KikiRC · 08/03/2012 12:27

That's great news, Broody! Hope you feel a lot better about it all.

Carlita- either is good for me. Let me know what kind of time would suit you best. Sorry to hear about the PGP though- what a nuisance. Hope that vanishes soon. X

broodylicious · 09/03/2012 13:27

Latest symptom spotting - baby not as active today (normally its a wriggler morning, noon and night!!) and woke up in the middle of the night with lower back pain.... Could it be the start?!

I'm off to dunelm to get the other voile panel for the nursery just in case Wink

Carlitawantsababy · 09/03/2012 18:39

Ooh, sounds exciting broody! Keep us posted! Grin

No news I'm afraid - had major BH again (like stopping me in my tracks strength) and have felt weird all day but baby has been moving about quite a bit since my last post so think we're settling in for a bit longer. Come on little one, don't be shy!!

Wordweaver · 11/03/2012 16:31

Hope everyone's having a great weekend in the sunshine. Just a quick post to say that you can get free P&P and 10% off Huddle and Bliss stuff until the 13th March. Enter the code 10GEN1103 at checkout. I don't know if it works on sale stuff but they have some nice things - lovely soft cotton.

broodylicious · 11/03/2012 17:08

Thanks word will have a look at that.

Sunshine has been gorgeous today, felt lovely to get some rays on my face! Think it's made baby sleepy though as he/she went v quiet for a few hours :( xx

knitterati · 11/03/2012 18:19

bee any baby news?

Carlitawantsababy · 11/03/2012 18:48

Sunshine was lovely, I took Fyfe and the dog for a walk across the cliffs and pelvis held out pretty well. Smile
kiki I can meet tomorrow or Wednesday afternoons - I have a midwife appointment tomorrow before 12 and a health visitor appointment at 1 on Wednesday. PM me with your number maybe and we can sort out via text? Grin

Hello all.
Carlita- just sent a DM, hope it worked.
Broody- hope you're not going too potty over there! I'm having so many strange feelings and sensations the last few days- had a terrible stitch earlier, but since my mum was two weeks late and induced with both me and my sister I've always suspected I'm more likely to be late than early... I'm still so disorganised though, plus the kitchen drawers fell through earlier- so another job to try to sort out before baby comes, that I quite appreciate a bit of time to try to get it all done... The only thing that's really driving me nuts is that I can't sleep properly at all, I'm so uncomfortable at night now.. So I don't really see this time as much of a 'rest'...

broodylicious · 11/03/2012 20:35

Oh kiki I am completely with you on the sleeping - or non-sleeping - front. Man alive, I swear I want this baby out just so I can get comfortable in bed again!! My friend took to sleeping sat upright in the last few weeks as she couldn't get comfy - think I may be tempted with that if I go much further. I am conscious that every time I turn over in bed, I wake up DH. He doesn't ever complain, even gives me a little cuddle if he's proper awake, so that makes me feel even worse Sad

KikiRC · 11/03/2012 23:36

Broody- I have five pillows in bed at the moment! I don't know which is the most uncomfortable- the rock-hard bump (I usually have Braxton Hicks a million times per night) or the acid reflux... Good luck for some sleep tonight! And I look forward to hopefully meeting you tomorrow, Carlita! X

broodylicious · 12/03/2012 08:47

Acid reflux is vile isn't it?! I have a packet of gaviscon tablets in every room for when it strikes!
I got an ok nights sleep last night....but haven't felt baby move since about midnight. Tried loads of tricks but nothing. V v v worried so just about to call MW. Wish us luck!!

KikiRC · 12/03/2012 09:19

Hope all is OK, Broody. Let's hope baby is just cosy and sleepy in there. Mine goes through long very quiet patches now. X

Carlitawantsababy · 12/03/2012 09:23

broody I hope everything is okay, let us know when you can, thinking of you.
kiki just saw your message - was not alerted via email like usual Hmm will text you in a sec!
Sorry you're all suffering with the lack of sleep, must be horrible.
I've put some pictures of Fyfe on my profile limited to MN mates so let me know if they don't work for you in case I've forgotten to add someone/added you incorrectly! Grin

Fyfe just had his weigh in with the midwife and at 11 days is 8lb 11oz, 6 oz over his birth weight, I'm chuffed to bits! Grin

So lovely to meet up with Carlita & Fyfe today! He's a real cutie.

Hope everything went well with the MW, Broody. X

Hi ladies. Just a quick message to update you. Baby Erin arrived on Friday 9th by c-section after 2 days induction. Not the birth I'd wanted or envisaged but she is just amazing and beautiful and that's what matters. I'm absolutely besotted with her. Just out of hospital today after 6 nights in (2 being induced, 4 after birth)...so glad to be home and be a proper family!

Carlitawantsababy · 13/03/2012 03:04

Congratulations bee! Fabulous news! Glad you and baby Erin are doing well. It's amazing falling in love like that isn't it? Grin

Hi! Is it too late to join? I only just found the ante-natal threads Blush

I'm due the 25th with my first. I just read through the thread and I feel completely unprepared! I'm not yet as organised as you all were in early Feb. Really, really have to get a bag packed!

I just got off work mid last week, and had meant to do a whole bunch of prep before hitting the 38 week mark, but instead spent my first day off in the hospital with strange upper abdominal pain. Turns out it was just the same processes that cause SPD but in my ribcage, perhaps interacting with an old gymnastics injury, but now that plus SPD mean I can't be up and about for more than 30 minutes at a time without going mad with pain :( Annoying, but I'm mostly glad that my liver is fine which is what they were worried about.

But I didn't meant to whine! It so neat to see the stories of babies already here. I've been freaking myself out reading all sorts of scary things and births going wrong, so nice to hear of healthy babies arriving even if sometimes things didn't go as planned.

Also nifty to see other equestrians and cat owners. I don't have horse of my own, but it's one of my dreams someday, and DH is Texan and so learned to ride a horse, not a bike, and so I look forward to us riding together sometime in the future (with DD, too :) ), even though he might be in a funny saddle :). I've got two kitties, one who is my baby, even more so now that she's got a pair of counter-acting geriatric diseases, and I'm worried will be really jealous. Any advice for that?

Ugh, and now Blush at such a long first post when I'm so late to the party.

broodylicious · 13/03/2012 10:05

Congratulations bee So pleased to hear everything went well in the end and you've got a beautiful healthy little girl Smile

I'm finding it v interesting that hardly anyone yet has had the exact birth plan they wanted. Delighted they're all healthy babies and mummies are recovering well of course - that should go without saying so pls don't think I'm being bitchy or nasty - but it does prove to me that our NCT tutor got it bang on!! Anyway, it's giving me a lot of encouragement as this baby will come how it wants to!!

broodylicious · 13/03/2012 10:13

Welcome arden - defo not too late to join us, we are a friendly bunch here Smile My first is due on march 25th too, i finished work last week and I'm a fellow equestrian so I welcome you in particular Wink Sorry to hear you've had some pain. Don't worry about moaning about it, it's only natural. My SPD seems to have faded away, I only got it for a few months in the middle - thank goodness as it was agony!! Some of the ladies on here have been literally crippled for the entireity of their pregnancy so I consider myself v lucky compared to them.
Do you know if you're having a girl or boy type? How are you finding maternity leave? I'm struggling tbh - I'm q bored already! Think it's because I work over an hours drive away, then have a busy, full on job, then my commute back home so to go from that to nothing is odd. Only so much I can do with this big bump hanging around too Wink xx

ardenbird · 13/03/2012 11:48

Thanks for the welcome, broody! I remembered there was another 25th, but reading so much at forgot exactly who it was. I'm expecting a girl :)

Glad to hear about your SPD going away -- mine at least has been pretty stable since mid-Jan when I graduated from walking stick to crutches (and I probably could have stabilised it earlier if I didn't resist using the mobility aids so much, sigh, but I guess I've learned it's important to take care of myself). I feel I've been lucky as I've had really good care. I shelled out for two visits to private physio who worked magic. He figured out exactly how my pelvis was shifting, pushed it back in place, then gave me some exercises that could do the same adjustments he did in the office! I can tell they work, as if I miss a day, things get really painful fast. I'm mostly maintained at a low level of pain unless I try to walk, which now I can do even less of because of the ribs!

I'm only still really now getting into mat leave, as I had several reports to finish up and worked on them through saturday, as I could do that from bed! I'm ashamed to admit I checked my work email today -- I'm planning to check in once a week or so, as there are a few things I need to keep my hand in, but I knew there shouldn't be anything by today. So I've turned my energy to prep: just ordered a nursing bra and an ear thermometer online. Maybe I'll type out my birth plan next (will probably be better than the handwritten scrawl in my notes). The maddening thing is to find stuff to do that doesn't require prolonged moving! Maybe if I do a lot of online research I can send DH out to the shops with a list. Also doing a bunch of laundry, as that only takes a few minutes at a time.

Carlitawantsababy · 13/03/2012 11:55

Welcome arden! Grin you have my full sympathy with the SPD. Mine is so much better already though so hope that'll happen for you when your baby comes! Glad to hear we've scared inspired you into getting stuff ready, I'm so glad I packed a hospital bag especially as everything else was in boxes.
broody I think births are pretty hard to plan for but at the same time I'm glad we had thought about what was most important to us as we were able to get the birth we wanted even in the 'wrong' setting. I also had things I wanted if a c section was needed. I'm off out for lunch to the bumps and babies group. Smile
