Hurray for babies!! Welcome to Zennen and Seren to the atmosphere and congrats to their proud mummies.

We think we have a name too. We know this is a girl but slightly surprised as previous ds and dd remained nameless for days and days even though we knew.
It is difficult as names mean alot to us and both ds and dd have: God is my ... meanings. Girls names so often just mean flower, ewe, rebellion, tired etc. Also needs to fit with the other two's names aswell but we both agreeing. I like longer names that are shortenable too so that scabbed some off the list. Anyways looking forward to announcing very soon.

Midwife today: head on brim but not engaged. All else well with baba, my blood pressure still low though.

is it wrong that I am taking a small amount of glee at having a pot of piss in work today... Don't mess with me buddy or you're getting swilled!

[divil emoticon]

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 10:33

i,m 35 wks today. yeah woo. only 5 wks to go. get this baby out of me. i once left my pot of wee on the bus.

littlemonkeybix · 18/01/2012 10:36

I wonder what the finder made of that pat!!! heehehee

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 10:50

i realised as it was driving away

PamBeesly · 18/01/2012 12:36

Hi Pat love your name!

I'm off to my scan at 2.45, I want to find out if little chops has moved himself or not, also I'd like a estimated weight. He seems to be HUGE!

Monkey nobody better mess with you or they'll get pee right into their eye!

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 13:01

thanks pam, good luck with your scan. i have had 3 for massive baby but she has been pretty much been bang on for dates every time. my mw still sucks in every time she feels me up and says shes going to be a big one. had a scan last week and she was 5lb 4 i know its not i sure thing but still dont really understand why they all insist she is going to be huge, either she will or she wont, what does it matter.

PamBeesly · 18/01/2012 13:05

5lb 4 at 35 weeks is ok though Pat isn't it? I mean the accuracy of course is questionable but she'd be on course to be an 8lber then? Thats a little bigger than average but not huge. And they all gain weight differently anyway.
The doctor at the last scan said my baby had very long legs...I'm 5ft2 and believe me I can agree with the doctor...he is all legs in there!

deardear · 18/01/2012 13:17

Well had my growth scan this morning. Baby def has a pair of balls and is currently 6lb at their dates of 34+2! However my dates say I am a week forward and the scan date today said 22nd Feb. bit nervous now as my last one was only 6 .12 born! Yikes - really don't fancy an 8lb+ baby!

Head was 4/5 engaged yesterday at MW appt and boy can he grind his head on my bladder. Think of a needle sticking up there ouch.

Found out today also that although they have done two full blood counts since July no one has bothered testing my thyroid function. Bit angry about that and had to wait near,y 40 mins in a hot waiting room for bloods. I hadn't eaten since 8am and my blood pressure had dropped really low and I felt a bit funny so got fed shortbread biscuits and orange juice before they would let me go. Feel ok now though thank god - just normal tiredness so going to have my nap in a min.

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 14:02

my last one was 10.5. so and 8 pounder is nothing Grin. its a right pain in the but when that blood sugar goes isnt it, glad you are feeling a bit better now.
i think the reason that everyone is expecting this one to be big is based on the size of the last one, i know they usually get bigger. its a different sperm this time though so that would change it up a bit right?

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 14:04

sorry pam, yes 5 pound at this stage is about perfect.

littlemonkeybix · 18/01/2012 14:19

You've had one of those special facials, haven't you Wink

MW appt at 3... leaving work at 2.30 to get there in plenty of time. Hoping for a measurement that isn't above the top line.... however won't hold my breath!

In a way I WANT a big measurement, so I have more leverage at the hosp next week! I WANT ANOTHER SCAN Envy

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 18/01/2012 15:51

Back from hospital and baba is now head down. I didn't realise quite how much I'd been hoping it stayed breech do I could have an elective section, and almost burst into tears on my obstetrician. But we had a good open chat about all my fears after the last time, and I think I just need to man up and get on with it.

BUT the lie is still abnormal - (s)he is lying kind of obliquely, in a way where the head won't be able to get into the pelvis properly. She said it could just be that it needs time to sort itself out after turning (I think it just did it overnight, as my movements have all been on my bladder/cervix until this morning), but she says it needs an eye kept on it and I may need to be scanned at 38/39 weeks to look at the presentation if it doesn't sort itself out.

So overall feeling pretty bleurgh and not sure what to think about it all. Sad

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 16:05

aww wicket that sucks. man up i laugh at man up. dont know a single man that would be able to cope with a good labour let alone a shitty one. i nearly begged for a c section the other day as i was feeling so rough, but apparently i am getting a 24 hr eeg instead. but i was still wondering if it was to late to ask for a c section at this stage.

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 16:07

and yes monkey special facials and hair treatments a plenty you dirty cahhhhhhhhhh.

littlemonkeybix · 18/01/2012 16:54

Right... All's well with my MW appt, still "a bit" big... just over the top line on the charts. Lets see what the clinic say next week.

Head down still, but not engaged.

We were talking about how it is STILL not real to me. I just cannot see myself with a baby... stupid isnt it!! Even at the christening on Sunday, not a flicker from either of us... MEGA denial happening! At least the bedroom decoration is moving along!

Mum and Dad were at ours today to finish cleaning the walls and ceiling, DP took the blinds and extra glazing down last night.... hopefully get the painting finished by the weekend ??!!

Then 1 wall wallpaper, and carpet... then build bed!

Gosh, it sounds do-able!!

also, got booked onto my NHS antenatal class (finally!!) for Feb 4th. A one day-er rather than seperate evenings. I got bumped to the top of the list because they've had my name for a MONTH and not got back to me!! the MW said it was an extensive list of names, so I made sure they knew I was due March 5th (basically almost the date of the next one!!!) and THEY were supposed to call me back.... she rang me back to confirm I was number 2 on the list Grin Just waiting for a p/call to tell me which children's centre it's in. If not heard by the day before I can call them.

Right... few more bits to do at work before I can go and sort tea out! [hungry face]

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 18:37

awww ante-natal classes i remember them fondly i had ntc ones when i was 18 with my first. all the other mums were 30 odd not really my core group Grin

patsdeadfrank · 18/01/2012 18:41

i still dont really believe it either monkey we have all the bits and i have a massive bump and i know its going to happen but really i dont think i am mentally prepared.
to much of an age gap between this one and the last one i think or maybe because it was a surprise baby.

PamBeesly · 18/01/2012 19:07

Baby was moving far too much for the sonographer to get accurate measurements but from the info he could get he is 3 days ahead, is that ok? I think 3 days isn't too bad. He is head down too and has plenty of fluid. I got a picture but can't make it out... Grin
I always laugh at 'man up' and 'grow some balls' .... its just too ironic! Wicket can you opt for an ELCS in the UK if you wish?

shipsladyg · 18/01/2012 19:13

Yay. Just bought a storchenwiege. I've wanted one for ages.

Just given DH a wake up call re how much time he potentially has left at work. Poor chap works crazy hours so hopefully he'll start to hand some of it over and decline new stuff coming in so at least he can chill a bit before DC2 arrives.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 18/01/2012 19:46

Pam - not really. I know my obs wouldn't be keen, and despite all my bellyaching, I agree that a CS without a good indication isn't the best thing for me. It's a bit difficult when you're in the profession and know enough to worry you... I think my position is that if there's a reason to have an elective CS then I would be very happy, but I know it's not on the cards/ the right thing without eg malposition. Feeling calmer about it but subdued tonight.

PamBeesly · 18/01/2012 19:53

Have you ever looked at the hypnobirthing books Wicket even with your knowledge of everything/previous experience etc it does really show that your body CAN do it, and if it doesn't go the way it should medicine can step in and help. Maybe its too airy fairy for you because you know what can happen, I remember reading 90% of female OBGYN's in the US opt for CS, well I think that speaks for itself, hey see what can go wrong and avoid it. I think maybe when you are in the medical environment all the time you see it as more a medical experience. I hope you don't think I'm patronising or anything like it :)
PS I know nothing really this is my first baby and have my fingers in my ears when people talk about birth trauma...I'm really going on the premise that every experience is different and the hospital I'm booked into is FANTASTIC!
