Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Curious I think I might be leaking amniotic fluid as mu undies are soaked, it isclear and does not have any smell. Given I am post 37 weeks does it even matter?

BaaBaaHumbug · 30/11/2011 16:33

I would ring your midwife Fala, if just a bit of a leak it may heal over and be fine but they might want to monitor you. If it keeps leaking and you're not in labour after a few days most hospitals advise induction.

HoneyLovesChristmasCake · 30/11/2011 16:35

Falala Doesn't matter if you go into labour, does if you don't. How sure are you you're not wetting yourself Grin I think you can get a little leak & then continue for quite a while but if you're waters truly break you should go into labour really. Did you lose your plug? Think I'd be inclined to wait a bit & see if it was a one off but if you keep leaking I'd call MW for advice. Actually, I'd probably call MW now just in case.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 30/11/2011 17:12

Will change my name shortly.

Seven Well Done to Eva catching up on her weight :)

Falala I would put a pad on and keep an eye out, if you are soaking pads then ring labour ward to be checked out.

Seen MW today, baby has turned into the back 2 back position :( also baby hasn't done its 10 movements today that i've noticed anyway due to being busy so currently sat with my feet up on the sofa with a cold glass of apple juice to see what that does. She also next at my next appt in 2 weeks if I make it that far she'll do a sweep Grin

So need to get this baby into the right position as she thinks thats why i'm getting the pains but no movement as bubba in wrong position :(

fusam · 30/11/2011 17:13

Go Kri5ty, congrats to her.

Seven eva is gorgeous and happy that she is doing so well.

Sotired good luck and wishing you a peaceful birth.

Been reading the good birth stories, how inspirational are they! Hope this thread is full of similar good births in the coming weeks. Nothing really to report here except still getting strong BH but they are neither escalating nor regular and just here to piss me off. I have took paracetamol before bed last night to get a better night's sleep which worked, would it be too much to do that every night that I am in pain? I am a monster when I have little sleep.

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 30/11/2011 17:15

It sounds like the sort of thing you ought to be advised on, Falalalalababy (I can't imagine urine or other discharge being odourless for long). However, the fact that it's clear and odourless should keep you calm as you dial - at least there is no meconium from a distressed baby! Smile

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 30/11/2011 17:27

Testing Testing

sevenswansaswimming · 30/11/2011 17:35

darcies hope baby gets moving soon.

falala I agree with everyone else, best to ring for advice . I expect they won't be too worried now but will want to see you in a couple of days if you haven't gone into labour.

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 30/11/2011 17:41

Ahhh, little Snowball. Smile

OiMistletoe · 30/11/2011 17:59

Hope that it turns out to be nothing to worry about falala, I'd definitely call for advice.
I've had quite a good day. It took me til lunchtime to get ready... took me 10 minutes to put my shoes on! I kid ye not! I'm wearing maternity jeans, but they are quite tight, so trying to bring my legs up to reach to tie shoe laces was a disahrrster!
I went for a walk into the village and picked up some odds n ends. One pharmacy wouldn't sell me canesten because I'm pregnant, one didn't bat an eyelid. :) (The doctor was going to give me a prescription last week, so I know it's OK, but I get guilty about costing the NHS money for something I can buy over the counter - how ridiculously stupid am I???)
When I got back home the cleaner was here, so I went back out again and spent an hour or so with my dad. He was thrilled to see me, so I feel like I've done my good turn for the day. :)
Now I'm just waiting til DH gets home so he can help me take my shoes off. I can't face all that puffing and panting and discomfort!

Hohohomouse · 30/11/2011 18:06

I love, love, love the positive birth stories thread - its really keeping me going! I have treated myself to one of those heat bags with lavender you can heat in the microwave for lower back pain. its bloody magic! I love it. fusam I reckon paracetamol at this late stage is not going to harm anything... If it helps you get a good nights sleep then gobble down some each night. I bloody well would. Make the most of any quality sleep while you can. I am 39+5 today....nearly there!

Falalalalababy · 30/11/2011 18:12

Well rang the mw. She said to change my undies and call back if the get soaked again within 2 hrs. So far I am dry! Hope I didn't just piss my pants!!! Can pregnancy be any more embarrassing???

OiMistletoe · 30/11/2011 18:38

The humiliation of pregnancy knows no boundaries!
And I wouldn't worry at all about a couple of paracetamol at bedtime whenever you need them. Last night I had a cup of mulled wine, equal or worse in evilness I guess, similar sleep-aiding benefit. Grin

msbaublestwinkle · 30/11/2011 19:18

I'm getting lots of period cramp type feelings this evening...will probably vanish when I go to bed though!

fusam · 30/11/2011 19:42

I wasn't going to admit this but I think my pelvic floor is shot. I have taken to wearing linings. Falala you aren't alone if it is the erm 'wrong' type of leakage.

LittleMissHumbuggery · 30/11/2011 20:02

I'm made of exhausted, but just wanted to pop on here and wish SoTired the best of days for tomorrow. Your surgeon is going to be opening the best first door of an advent calendar for you :o

People worrying about painkillers. I have been taking paracetamol all through this pregnancy, it is cleared as ok to use, so if you need it don't deny yourself it. It's ibu and aspirin of the supermarket available stuff you can't have. Ive been told I can have codeine too, though they advise not too high a dose and to try to avoid taking it too often in the latter part of the third trimester if you can as baby can develop a liking for it >_<

Right. I'm feeding the cats and heading to bed with a cone of chunky yarn and a crochet hook. In too much pain to even think about doing the dishes. We are housebound tomorrow as the gas man is coming, and the elder spawn has declared digestive war on herself Glad I popped to tesco earlier as it means we don't have to call for a milk run from a friend:)

Night all!

mopsytop · 30/11/2011 20:08

Congrats to kri5ty, yay! All the best for tomorrow SoTired and hope the latent phase progresses soon Honey.

Oi I am only 36 and a half weeks and bending down for shoes is practically impossible, wearing flats with no socks in spite of the cold as just can't manage socks!

My husband HATES Love Actually with a vengeance. I love it! Might have to watch it soon!

mopsytop · 30/11/2011 20:09

p.s. falala and fusam me too - wear panty liners all the time. Pelvic floor exercises must not be working properly Blush. The glamour of pregnancy, eh?!

mopsytop · 30/11/2011 20:10

And for those worried about paracetamol, I had migraines for months and took LOADS of the stuff. Not that it helped much. But I was told it's totally fine so long as you don't exceed the 8 in 24 hours rule.

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 30/11/2011 20:18

"Your surgeon is going to be opening the best first door of an advent calendar for you."
LittleMissHumbuggery,that is absolutely beautiful! Smile

Pelvic floors - I had a bladder like a camel till childbirth, then it all went to hell, but I got it back! Smile Not as strong as it ever was, but that would have been hard. Grin

LittleMissHumbuggery · 30/11/2011 20:23

I might be made of humbuggery Plu but I can wrangle some wordsWink

Just fed the most stupid of the three, though they're all mental cat painkillers. Half an hour and he'll be rolling about like he's on grade A catnip. Dippy mog.

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 30/11/2011 20:43

Did I call you cynical?! T'wasn't just the words, though, but the very beautiful idea.

Hope your cat enjoys his catnip "tripping"!

LittleMissHumbuggery · 30/11/2011 20:53

Was referring to my festive nom de plume Wink

As for the cat, he stalked a cardboard box, then subdued it by rolling all over it for five minutes. He's currently sat in front of me with wide eyes asking for more. He's going to be gutted when he's healed:o

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 30/11/2011 21:00

Are his eyes spinning spirals?!

aethelfleda · 30/11/2011 21:03

oi, I'm 36 weeks too and have a single pair of flat shoes I'm living in, they have velcro cos I can't manage laces. Getting me socks on takes 5 minutes, and I often find I've pulled my socks over my trouser bottoms without noticing cos I only put socks on at the last minute under duress. So you are not alone!!!
