LittleMissHumbuggery · 30/11/2011 21:09

I tried to take a pic, but the flash made him do his smug impression:o

Tinselperion · 30/11/2011 21:19

Aethel and Oi, I've been living in a single pair of Victorian style lace-up boots with the laces undone and a zip which I can't do up most days!

I've been having irregular twinges all day, and walking the mile to the high st and back felt like one long contraction...I hope it's the start of something soon.

LittleMissHumbuggery · 30/11/2011 21:37

I'm rocking the £3 sandshoes (blokes department ones, for extra width) from Primark:o I get them on by sitting on the bed and contorting my legs until I can snag a foot:o

When autumn buggers off I'll be back in my walking sandals which are made of velcro and foam. I love them, but I dislike wallowing in leaf mulch. Once the leaves are gone, I'll be back to having blue frozen solid comfy feet:o

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 30/11/2011 22:08

Hey Ladies,

Sorry it's late, been down the hospital. Snowball upto 5:30 hadn't moved all day even tho had drunk 2 pints of ice cold apple juice! Baby was very sleepy but after 2 hrs on the CTG Snowball woke up. Consultant also wondered about labour but said to monitor at home and If baby is sleepy again over next few days then I need to go back in and be scanned and then the decision about what happens next will be made. On the upside baby is no longer back 2 back Grin

OiMistletoe · 30/11/2011 22:23

Good news that Snowball was only sleeping - and no longer back to back, you must be relieved about both!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 30/11/2011 22:26

Most def relieved about both, however cramps and Snowballs head moving into it bloody hurts! So he/she needs to get a move on lol

kri5ty · 01/12/2011 01:56

Hey girls, still in hospital so not been on here, but Saul Harrison Ancell was welcomed into the world on 29/11/11 at 16.12 weighing 6lbs 13 x x

BaaBaaHumbug · 01/12/2011 05:03

Congrats Kri5ty, hope you are settled nicely back home now and look forwards to some pics.

Anyone else on the insomnia wagon tonight?

BeeMyBaby · 01/12/2011 05:42

falala, fusam & mopsytop I'm another one with a failed pelvic floor having to wear liners every day, I've been hoping its just babies head engaging and pushing on the bladder all the time.

Thank you for the reassuring second birth stories msbuugy and aethel, and now its going to be a december baby whatever happens - although I'm still overdue I always did want a December baby rather than a Nov one (as I'm a Dec one myself).

So yesterday went for a 4 mile dog walk, as usual, then MW gave me a sweep (and said cervix was unfavourable and high :( ) but she advised pineapple and sex, so dutifully I went home, had sex, had curry followed by pineapple for dinner, had more sex, and yet still, baby is still firmly in place and all I got was more lousy BHs. Oh and MW gave me leaflet on induction and said she'd make the appointment next week, bleh.

Congratulations kri5ty!

Hohohomouse · 01/12/2011 05:42

Yes, on the insomnia wagon.
The little beastie is making me pee every 2 secs and is VERY low down.
Congrats to Kri5ty! Hope you get out of hospital soon and home to have a lovely babymoon.

aethelfleda · 01/12/2011 07:19

I have been up since 4.50 too... Should have come on here! Instead listened to radio and nattered to DH. Keep getting random bump aches and BHs but mothing remotely organised or exciting. Off to tidy up the last of my paperwork today as now officially on mat leave, possibly with a little sneaky christmas shopping before school pickup. Housework-dodging, moi?

lottielou39 · 01/12/2011 07:41

am 39+5 today and have been up since 3am after not falling asleep until 2. Had regular contraction pains (have given birth twice before so know what to expect) from 3-5, then nothing. So so annoying. Haven't had a show or lost any waters yet. Hubby commutes to London- wasn't sure whether I should ask him to stay home or not, but no point if nothing now happening.
Get a move on baby!

mopsytop · 01/12/2011 08:09

Congrats kri5ty! I've been having horrible cramps in back again. Is it body preparing itself for first labour or could it be bowel issues? No idea! Not fun, whatever it is!

Hohohomouse · 01/12/2011 08:13

aethel with you on the random aches and pains. Nice to be properly on mat leave. Dodge whatever housework you can for as long as you can.

lottie sounds exciting, I would ask hub to stay but I'm a first timer and have no clue what to expect!

Poor DH has had random tears this morning from me for no reason whatsoever (well reasons are I am absolutely terrified and fed up simultaneously which is making me panic). Now I feel terribly guilty. Can't be easy for him to have this hormonal mess on his hands and have to go to a full on job at 6am. We are making time to go to dinner later which should take my mind off things. And I hope I will feel better when I have seen the midwife and wobbled at her too...Is no one safe?

KateKringle · 01/12/2011 08:21

Morning all. Another bad night for me too, I knew sleeping well wouldn't last! Got my 38 week MW appointment this morning, although I'm now 38 + 5 - they couldn't get me booked in last week. Want to find out what position baby is in and whether it's moved down at all. Doesn't seem to me like it's going anywhere just yet.

So, I'm definitely having a December baby. I was convinced this one would be early like DD and would arrive in Nov. Now I'm worrying about going late and having to be induced again - that's the one thing I really wanted to avoid this time if possible.

Congratulations Kri5ty Hope you make it home soon

Hope the snowball gets on the move soon Darcies

msbaublestwinkle · 01/12/2011 08:38

Morning everyone! Yawn and squeeze!

A bad night here too, DD2 has been up vomiting since 6am, DD1 was up coughing in the night. Have inserted sicky children into warm bath while I drink coffee! So we'll have a pj day on the sofa I think, try to get them both better as fast as possible!

lottie am with you on the annoyance of random contractions, I seem to have a couple of hours of them every evening then they vanish when I lie down. Still they must be doing some good, we will both have really easy quick 3rd births when they decide to get going!

hohohomouse sympathy for the random tears, I cry a lot when I'm pregnant...everyone is used to it now!

kristy such a gorgeous name! Hope you get home soon.

OiMistletoe · 01/12/2011 09:00

Hey Kristy congratulations!!! And welcome to the world Saul! Saw the gorgeous pic on FB. When will they let you go home? Well done missus!
Another one with a crappy sleep here too. I was awake from 2ish again, and G-baby was really active, so I was doing pelvic floor exercises and then opening up and "massaging" him downwards. In-between daydreaming about difficult birth scenarios Sad. Must've fallen asleep again around 6. The baby is still high this morning. Such a naughty baby!!!!

PullyWoolOver · 01/12/2011 09:00

Morning everyone, no sleep here either, bah humbug.

Gosh this thread is moving fast, hope I haven't missed anything. Hope you're all as well as can be expected given the sleep deprivation/ aches/ leaks/ swelling.

Congratulations kri5ty, wonderful news and a gorgeous name!

Lottie sounds like you could be next...?!

Hurrah for December, I love Christmas so much and can't wait to get in the festive swing if things. Speaking of which am racking brains for a festive name change. Hmmm, can anyone suggest anything? Drawing a blank here...

Last night I had my very first twinges, strong BH and painful period-like pains. All gone now if course, but exciting still!

X

HollyWooLoveXmas?
HollyWoolOver?
ReindeerPully
Errr dunno!
Quite like ReindeerPully because it makes me picture those fabulous chunky knits that are seemingly in fashion now for men. Grin

itsybitsy08 · 01/12/2011 09:28

congratulations kristy ! Love Saul Harrison, fab name :) hope you all get home soon.

sotired good luck for today, great birth date for your little one.

To all those with twinges, sending labour vibes your way, cant wait until this thread to really kick off with the birth announcements!

39+4 today and have midwife appointment today, due to high blood pressure when i was there last week, hoping if i ask she will do a sweep - i want this baby out now!!!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 01/12/2011 09:44

Morning Ladies.

Kri5ty Congratulations on the Birth of Saul :)

SoTired Good luck on your ELCS today.

Snowball hasn't moved that much this morning, but then Darcie has been a right defiant nightmare this morning. So currently sitting down with a cold drink to see if that wakes him/her up.

Later am going to attempt to wrap some more presents.

NorthernChinchilla · 01/12/2011 09:52

Huge congratulations kri5ty and welcome Saul! Hope all went well with your avant-garde 'cafe birth' and that you're recovering comfortably and swiftly.

Not on the insomnia bus personally, but did manage to keep my OH awake with my snoring last night Blush. Haven't been this bad in about the past ten years, but am suddenly making the mattress shake, and not in a good sexy way...

Pully, am with you on the trying to think of an Xmas name bit, I just need something festive that begins with 'N'.

HoneyLovesChristmasCake · 01/12/2011 10:03

Morning all & congrats Kri5ty...can't wait to see photos of baby Saul :)

Tired this morning as I woke at 5 & couldn't get back to sleep. Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped yesterday, although I was on the go all day, so I really have to get on with it now. Definitely nesting; I couldn't keep still last night & was scrubbing the kitchen cupboards Confused after dinner last night. My pelvis does not feel good...either I've overdone it or baby has dropped even lower...I'm going with the latter as I still have things to clean Grin

I am Envy of those of you with xmas trees up; we popped to B&Q last night & I tried to convince DP to let me get the tree, we usually wait until after my birthday but if LO's here I'm worried I'll be too tired to enjoy decorating it. He was against it though :( he wants to wait until the weekend after this one to minimize destruction by the cats

Contractions are the same, maybe a bit stronger, regular but still too far apart. They give me terrible back pain when I'm sitting though so I'm going to go scrub my floors. Hope you all have a good day :)

cheeptrick · 01/12/2011 10:10

Hi everyone

Congrats to you Kristy - Saul is a fab name, as is Harrison Smile

Good luck Sotired

I can home yeastyerday after some problems with the hospital policies and a Doctor not writing the words "Fit for home" on a form Confused

We have desided on a name: Hope Brynn Frances Goodwin (its a bit long but as its my last child i just put all the names i like in there Grin)

I got to hospital on Saturday and i was 4cm with no pain relife by the time i got from booking to the delivery suit i was 5cm after 30 mins i was shouting for an eppy so they checked me again and i was 7cm and said that the guy would not get there in time. MW check and said the baby was back to back and told me to turn on my side it really hurt but it worked to turn the baby. DH then went to loo for a wee and baby came down and the MW was holding the baby's head in and shouting DH to come out of loo or he was going to miss it Grin so he came out and pressed red button for another MW and with only two pushs Hope was born. It was only 3 hours in labour.

High:
Labour with only gas and air like i wanted (even if i did try to give in and get an eppy)
DH saw baby come out
I only had one stitch and no brusing, i just teared a little so it feels better already
The hypno cd really helped
I feel really good about the birth and proud of myself for not feaking out too much (When baby came down i screamed and midwife shouted at me to stop squeeling and use the gas to breath thru it Blush)

Low:
Could not leave hospital the same day due to hospital policy and i had to wait till Tuesday then Tuesday night the doctor messed form up and another doctor was too busy to check on DD.
I have huge blisters on both nipples as its taking time to get the latch right but i think we have it now but feeding is painful but getting better
Had a cry yeasterday due to hormons
DH had to inject mewith neddle twice a day
Idid not relise how busy i would be looking after to small children.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 01/12/2011 10:13
