Here's the new thread!
Squee-eeze those muscles, or squee-ee-eeeze those babies out!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
msbaublestwinkle · 09/12/2011 09:24

I was just about to say that they have stopped, when I had another one! About every half an hour now, still strong enough to be interesting though! I have clary sage burning and am on the ball.

I'm being a grumpy cow with the DDs, can't call my Mum home from work until I know it isn't going to st though!

kri5tycringle · 09/12/2011 09:29

oi, tinsel, msb good luck it all gets going properly today!!! I want some baby news by the end of the day!!

Erm mopsy... turn that frown upside down... they are all early labour symptoms! Let's hope that's why you're getting them, and that you won't need to be induced!

hohoho thanks hun, I'm still in pain, but no way near as bad, I'm feeding Saul etc now :o and feeling better in my mood, just a little down I can't walk really so the early outings as a family I dreamed off haven't happened.

bee I have no experience in bf, but just wanted to echo the thoughts on here of support :) you will both get there, you're doing brilliantly to have gotten this far, I couldn't, and I have lots of respect for you!! And LO is putting weight on which is great!! X

Hohohomouse · 09/12/2011 09:33

Poor mopsy! Console yourself, these COULD be early labour signs. I really, really hope so. Do you know I your hospital send you home after the pessery or do you go straight to drip?

aethelfleda · 09/12/2011 09:40

Mopsy, if you've stilll got a headache and are feeling grotty, ring the labour ward or the day assessment unit and tell them: they will probably want to recheck your BP again: sometimes the medicines don't work to get the BP down and if that's happening you do need to know.

kri5tycringle · 09/12/2011 09:41

Other news... Saul has decided to start being wide awake at night. He falls asleep straight after a feed in the day, then from 11pm onwards is wide awake after them and takes an hour and a half to settle. I'm wondering if its trapped wind as he doesn't relax after it

kri5tycringle · 09/12/2011 09:43

aethelfeda I have missed that one... cooker cleaning??! Erm don't you dare! Why can't she?

Hohohomouse · 09/12/2011 09:53

mopsy the induction thread is scaring me too. I am going to try and ignore it now I have started it. All seems tedious, long, painful and without DH support.
Hideous
Let concentrate all our energy on getting the babies OUT before it comes to that!
Think you should defo get your symptoms checked tho, they could do something for you. Now is not the time you want to be feeling shyte, but conserving your energy

Cherrypi · 09/12/2011 09:54

Another night of poor sleep due to back aches and tightenings. Hopefully this is a sign of something imminent as I'm getting a bit grumpy. I know I'm going to get even less sleep soon Xmas Wink How long does thjs back ache stage go on for? I'm due tomorrow.

kri5tycringle · 09/12/2011 10:06

cherry my back ache turned out to be back contractions!

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 09/12/2011 10:10

Hope it's going well for you Oi, and so pleased you haven't actually murdered your DH figgy!

Hope it turns into something for you too msb.

All quiet on the Western front here- went to hospital yesterday for the pre op stuff, but they're not allowed to do bloods, so I had to go back this morning (and another expensive taxi ride) to be stuck with a needle.

Day of making up tomato sauce for the freezer, and doing as much washing of our stuff and baby's that I can manage. Also got the cot arriving this afternoon.

And napping- LOTS of napping.

Last few days of just being the two of us- only way I can really cope with it is to ignore the fact! Think I'll book lunch out for tomorrow; last 'hurrah' and all that, and as a thank-you to OH for being an all-round good egg throughout the pregnancy.

Come on you advent babies!

fusam · 09/12/2011 10:11

Good luck to all the labouring women! Nearly full moon and it's all action.

Tinsel sorry about the consultant's appointment. As an anecdote, DD's growth scan by a very intervention happy consultant put her at over 10lbs but she came out at 8. From what I understand, they do have a high margin of error.

Plu I think the baby turned when I went swimming a week ago, midstroke it felt like a washing machine cycle in my stomach was turned on and I actually nearly went under in a panic. I thought I pulled a muscle but it seems it was the little cherub getting herself ready. With regard to VB, I prefer to cope with more fluid situations and see how it goes kinda thing whilst DH needs things written in stone never to be deviated from, how we ever managed to get together is anyone's guess. This baby needs to come out one way or the other so I am a bit meh about the whole thing now.

I am sure I had more to say but can't remember, I will be back

aethelfleda · 09/12/2011 10:29

kri5ty, my lovely Dad is my Xmas day backup: he's coming over to cook Christmas Dinner (he loves cooking) and if I go into labour that day he will stay with the DDs while DH takes me to the hospital.

I de-invited my great bro, SIL and their three children plus SIL's mum and bro (we're an extended family unit of 13) on the grounds that 13 people, one loo, and a possibly labouring woman don't mix! They were cool about this. And then Dad's GF said "oh but of course I'm coming for the day", started making sniffy remarks about how she hoped there wiuldn't be oo much telly, and while she was there she was "going to clean my cooker cos it really needed it". Sigh. My dad is nutty about her, they've been together 5 years, I love my dad dearly. You can pick your friends, but not your relatives' friends. She's OK most of the time, I just think she genuinely doesn't realise how egocentric she's being.

kri5tycringle · 09/12/2011 10:37

Ooo lol in that case I would def clean it... just so she doesn't have the satisfaction of doing it Haha ... but I'm evil!

itsybitsy08 · 09/12/2011 11:23

Hi ladies! Who wants some baby news?! Ds arrived this morning at 10 to 8 45 minutes after getting to hospital. 8lb 4 oz. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Kieran John David.
Will comment on everyones news when I get a chance to catch up (I read everyday) but sending those
Labour vibes to all who need them!!!

BaaBaaHumbug · 09/12/2011 11:32

Congrats itsy, sounds like you cut it a bit fine! Hope all well and you get back home soon.

Aeth - I would take great delight in letting all sorts of hard to shift food drip onto the bottom of the oven and enjoy watching it get a good scrub whilst eating mince pies. I'm not the most house proud though, especially at the moment!

LittleMissHumbuggery · 09/12/2011 11:42

I'll leave them in a visible place, you're all allowed to pay with themWink

Congratulations itsy Glad you managed to get where you needed to be in time:)

Oi Hope the rice krispies did the job, they have magical properties you know:o

Right. Off to research trading in my platinum pelvis after plu posted those pricesWink

OiMistletoe · 09/12/2011 11:44

Congratulations itsy! great news! I've had a lie down since getting up at 2 this morning, now I'll get up and start bouncing on my ball. DH has to get it out of the car and reinflate it first. He was wonderful this morning. I was stuck to the loo, whilst he prepared all the last minute hospital bag things, tidied the house, put all the wet towels in the wash... Star! I didn't have to ask.

Tinselperion · 09/12/2011 11:47

mopsy and mouse it's the lack of support from DH or anyone else that I am afraid of if I have an induction - when I was kept in overnight at 34 weeks I have never felt so low as when they kicked DH out at 10pm, not allowed to return for 12 hours.

There will be no news from this quarter today I fear - pad dry when I woke up, browny discharge seems to be mostly over. Just out of interest, anyone ever tried the evening primrose oil up the fanjo thing?

Good to know growth scans can be so inaccurate though!! I can't imagine how this baby could actually be this large...

HoneyLovesChristmasCake · 09/12/2011 12:11

I still haven't had a chance to read back through any of the messages; just came on to put up a couple of photos & update the stats thread.

His name is Rocco Kaleb.

Good luck all; hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon...so tired still & sore; I only really have the energy to BF & change Rocco so DP is doing everything else. Photos aren't great, will get better ones up soon.

Hope you're all well.

festivefiggy · 09/12/2011 12:12

Congrats to itsy definitely send me those labour vibes think my hips have finally given out have had to adopt the pregnancy waddle ......need this baby out!!!

MissRee · 09/12/2011 12:23

Am I one of the last ones due? I'm a NYE girl Grin

Haven't really kept up to date with this thread at all (only just finishing work today... Phew!

Yesterdays MW appointment was a shocker tho - she wants to book my induction at next apptment (I'll be 38+5 by then) purely because the hospital is busy. I've had a trouble free pregnancy so there is absolutely no need for early induction Sad I may well refuse until I'm actually overdue...

Sending the new mummies big hugs and congratulations and those of you desperately waiting, big strong labour vibes. I'll be off bouncing on my ball and eating pineapple from Monday so should be able to keep up now Grin

Ria x

aethelfleda · 09/12/2011 12:25

Aww honey, he's gorgeous!

Friend who was going to come around for coffee, so I'm doing the cooker after lunch (it's the hobs rather than the oven, I have one of those 5-hob gas range cooker things with a double oven) . If I'm not back in 12 hours send in a rescue team!

kri5tycringle · 09/12/2011 12:31

Congrats itsy :o well done!

honey that's a lovely name, and he is gorgeous!

ria that's shocking if its an early induction, I'd refuse!! Is it for an early induction... or booking you in now for when you're over 40 weeks? My hospital booked me in for an induction at my 20 week scan (for when I'd be 42 weeks)

kri5tycringle · 09/12/2011 12:33

tins that's what I struggled with... OH had to leave at 8pm until 11am. That was one of the reasons I lied to the doctor on rounds as they wanted to keep me in even longer!

msbaublestwinkle · 09/12/2011 12:43

honey he is lovely! Great name too.

Contraction update...still trundling along happily, I keep getting hungry and thirsty so am grazing. I'm also crocheting the blanket my doula has commissioned for her DS!
