Squee-eeze those muscles, or squee-ee-eeeze those babies out!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

cold is a lot better today so back to wanting baby out weighed myself this morning and have put on almost 3 stone now, oops!! Am not too bothered about it actually I was overweight as a child and up until I was 19/20 and know I will make sure it comes off. Since am due friday if the full moon wants to have an influence it will be very welcome.

Plans for today are going to post office with my xmas cards a walk round the shops (lucky in our town to have a well stocked shopping centre to avoid city centre) and then walk home. Dh giving me a lift round not up to walking both ways today feeling quite breathless with bump and cold.

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 07/12/2011 10:54

Yup, that sounds like a good brekkie to me tinsel Xmas Smile. At least the Republican lot should take your mind off it, a weirder bunch than anything you'll find in Twilight!

And snap hawthers, my little patch is just there too.

I think full moon on the 10th sounds like your best bet to be honest, given that nothing else seems to be shifting these babies.

One thing that's irritated me recently is the number of people who've said, when I've told them that we're cooking up for the freezer, 'you will be able to go out/shop/cook you know!' with the inference we're being OTT.
Of course, the first thing on our minds will be to hit the shops, a few days post c-section with a newborn, our first, in the middle of Xmas shopping crowds, to get in piles of food that we then have to cook up (or spend £s getting in takeaways).

Or we can just heat up lovely homemade food from the freezer Xmas Hmm.

Am rewarding myself with a nap before I do cleaning round two.

And hope HLCC is OK, I'd noticed she'd not been on.

Hohohomouse · 07/12/2011 11:03

Yes , my DH has said when looking at my Ocado list..."Why are you stocking up so much? We aren't going to war you know"
oh my poor, darling, deluded DH - going to the shops will be EXACTLY like planning a military campaign and neither you nor I will have the strength or inclination for it for at least a few days. I'm not sure he realises whats going to hit him.
A beautiful, baby-shaped bomb.

...eventually

KateKringle · 07/12/2011 11:38

Congrats to Sotired and good luck to anyone for whom things are occurring, although it seems most of us are feeling thoroughly fed-up with waiting.

Tinsel that's rubbish! I'm supposed to have sweep next Thurs when I'll be 40 + 5, but the MW covering for my usual one told me they'd do that, so now I'm worried I'll turn up and MW won't do it. Really hope they won't wait until 42 weeks to induce - that would be Christmas Eve and I really don't want to be in over Christmas. I'm planning to ask to be induced early(ish) if it gets that far.

Had a mild panic this morning when I didn't get any movements for a while. LO seems to be quite active when I first wake up normally, but there was nothing this morning. Fortunately some porridge and juice got it on the move again. Took DD to bouncy castle and soft play session this morning, see if we can't shake this baby out. Pineapple and curry have done nothing so far Xmas Smile

Sleighbellsinthesnow · 07/12/2011 12:25

Quick update - baby boy (no name yet) arrived 10am this morning - a strapping 9lb 2. We decided to go in around 7 this morning - first examination just before 8 - I was 5 cm dilated but revealed (to our shock) that baby was breech and as he seemed quite big, I was sent for C section.

We're doing well - haven't managed to get him to feed yet but we've had plenty of skin to skin.

OiMistletoe · 07/12/2011 12:27

Oh wow!!! Congratulations sleighbells!!!!
fantastic news! Hope he manages to feed soon, and that you recover soon also!
Congratulations!! Xxx

mopsytop · 07/12/2011 12:30

Congrats sleighbells! wow. Hope you are doing well after unexpected section!

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 12:43

ooh, lovely, well done Grin

What's your normal posting name (for the advent babies list), or should i put the christmas name down?

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 07/12/2011 12:45

Congratualations Sleighbells Hopefully he manages to feed and that you recover quickly from your C-Section Xmas Grin

All my xmas wrapping is done thanks to my bestie popping round for cuppa, chat and to wrap my pressies for me :)

cheeptrick · 07/12/2011 12:49

congrats Sleighbells

Hohohomouse · 07/12/2011 12:52

Great news sleighbells, woo hoo! Many, many congrats

KateKringle · 07/12/2011 13:09

Congrats Sleighbells Xmas Grin

aethelfleda · 07/12/2011 13:15

Hooray- congratulations sleighbells, and hope you recover smoothly. Having had an 8lb11 baby vaginally I can assure you the "sunroof option" is an excellent route for a 9pounder !! And well done for breaking the thread drought, it will encourage us all on :)

Please can you consider having a brie and pate sandwich on behalf of the rest of us?

OiMistletoe · 07/12/2011 13:24

Oh please have a Brie and pate sandwich, and wash it down with some Sancerre, or a ludicrously sweet ice wine/desert wine.
(vegetarians and nice people:stop reading now)
I bought a foie gras at the Christmas Market a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait!

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 07/12/2011 13:39

Wow sleighbells, you managed to sneak that one on us (and from the sounds of it, yourselves) unexpectedly! Congratulations to all, and you seem to be coping with the sudden change in plans really well. Sure he'll get feeding soon.
And 9lbs 2 as well!

I think that's thrown the gauntlet down for all the other babies, so let's hope they're encouraged to get a wriggle on.

Am feeling really, really hungry today- just eaten a Twix and large chunk of French bread as an extra to lunch. It's all that cleaning, I tell you....

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 07/12/2011 14:08

come over all odd feeling!

really tired and fuzzy Sad

LittleMissHumbuggery · 07/12/2011 14:23

Hope you're feeling better soon Darcies

I'm wrapped around a mug of coffee right now. Just bought some stocking fillers:)

Mmmmcheese · 07/12/2011 14:56

Congratulations sleighbells!

I am sitting on the bed in my delivery room, contractions about 6/7 mins at the moment but have epidural which I have to say is amazing so far! Am sitting here reading magazines and feeling very relaxed. Have epidural set very low so can feel every contraction but not too painful yet and can top it up when I want. Feels very surreal to be so relaxed after the trauma of my first birth!

Will try and keep you updated but no guarantees!

mopsytop · 07/12/2011 14:58

Ooh good luck Mmm hope it stays nice and relaxed and copable with! And that you can have an okay experience after last time! All the best of luck!

Tinselperion · 07/12/2011 15:02

Oh my goodness congrats bells and massive pompoms for mmmcheese!! Sending you good vibes to stay relaxed and lovely throughout Smile

I am going to have my hair cut and highlighted now...I'm planning on bringing a book to prevent the hairdresser yattering on and giving me her million and one surefire tips to bring on labour, all of which I've heard before and all of which I've tried to no avail.

mopsytop · 07/12/2011 15:05

Enjoy the haircut Tinsel. I honestly think all the bringing on labour tips are bullshit and babies come when they are ready. It is just that people start trying these things towards the end of pregnancy and so they often coincide with baby arriving and it looks like they therefore work. But as geeks like us well know, correlation does not equal causation!!!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 07/12/2011 15:11

Mmmm Good Luck Grin

jinglebum · 07/12/2011 15:21

Lost post - how annoying! anyway congrats to bells and good luck to cheese

Definite backache and random contractions here this afternoon and lots of cramps this morning so hopefully some action soon. DH has chosen today to stay in bed and feel sorry for himself with his cold! Needless to say he has not had a lot of sympathy from me. Not sure how much use he is going to be if it all kicks off!

OiMistletoe · 07/12/2011 15:39

mmmm good luck! I must say you are making an epidural sound delightful!! All the best for a peaceful smooth birth experience.
Light twingey back ache again this afternoon. It won't turn into anything, but one must stay hopeful!

KateKringle · 07/12/2011 15:59

Good luck mmm Look forward to hearing your announcement. Epidurals really are the dogs bs aren't they? Xmas Grin
