Here's the new thread!
Squee-eeze those muscles, or squee-ee-eeeze those babies out!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'd wondered the same thing mmmm, but I guess they have cellular blankets, and I bet the midwives are dab hands at swaddling! I'm not planning on taking anything in, I'm sure they won't let the baby go uncovered.

fusam · 06/12/2011 15:18

How exciting Mmmmm if I don't 'speak' to you before tomorrow good luck. As far as I can remember, babies are swaddled in hospital blankets. You just need to pack blankets and pram suits for the journey home. squeeeel, I am very excited for you!

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 15:21

I'm trying not to post on my own thread because It's nearly full. Blush

just found this interesting article on checking your own cervix to see if it's dilated.

msbaublestwinkle · 06/12/2011 15:26

Honestly, the moment I can't follow the thread for a few hours! Grin Good luck to those who are starting, smooth and speedy labour vibes to you!

My Blessingway was lovely, I am henna-ed, the bump cast is finishing drying in the kitchen and I feel well fed and loved by my lovely friends! They brought me and Miri some beautiful presents too, despite having been told not to. My doula brought special flower shaped candles for the DDs to light when I go into labour, they are very pleased!

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 06/12/2011 15:49

This all sounds very exciting ladies, hopefully we'll be celebrating the arrival of mini mmmmm and probably darcie very soon. Glad all's well with you to Oi.

Not surprised you want LO to stay put figgy if you're feeling that rough. Definitely don't move from bed unless necessary.

Had some lovely news today- one of my oldest friends (nearly 20 years as it was first year of High School) had her 12 week scan today and all was well. She'd told me in strictest confidence six weeks ago at a friend's wedding, and I'm soooo pleased for her. She and her husband had had trouble conceiving, and both of her sisters have had their first babies in the past six months, so you can imagine the 'when are you going to have yours?' comments she was getting and finding very upsetting.

Right, pie making today, going to waddle off and savage some spuds Xmas Grin. Nowt as lovely as HLCC's list of goodies, but it'll keep us warm from the inside for the next few weeks!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 16:27

MsBaubles good to see your blessingway went well Smile

loads of pressure this evening - hoping the walk around Tesco helped Wink

OiMistletoe · 06/12/2011 16:37

Me too darcies, lots of pains around the top of my bump. It was Boots and M&S that did it for me. (it'll turn out to be nothing!)

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 16:39

Oi Hopefully something happens for both of us soon Smile

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 16:40
Hmm i had that 6 days ago.

and i walked round sainsbury's last night, and felt really crap and tired, but it didn't do anything.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 16:54

Nickel That doesn't fill me with much hope Sad

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 16:56

sorry.
I'm getting fed up with the wait :(

It might jsut be me, though - you might pop just like that!

Hohohomouse · 06/12/2011 17:01

Just done a twirl around the supermarket too - apart from buying rubbish (mince pies, honey covered cashews and jelly bellies are good for babies, right?). Its done nothing...
Ah well, hospital appointment tomorrow, lets see if they can sort their human error in measuring my bump the incredible shrinking baby and make a decision re: induction
Oi, Mmmm, Darcies wishing you all the best and hope you get your babies soon.
Not sure we have heard from Honey today - either she is off Mumsnet getting pampered for her birthday OR she is producing mini Honey - exciting!
MsBaubles Blessingway sounds absolutely lovely. Would love to see what your friend does with your bump cast if you get a sec to post the pics

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 17:02

Nickel I think even tho all this going on with my body.. I think we are in for a few more days wait too!

Sleighbellsinthesnow · 06/12/2011 17:16

So have had my relaxation day and also did a little twirl around the supermarket this afternoon and pains have kicked off again (grin) though it will all probably amount to nothing!

Friends from round the corner had invited us round for a low key tea this evening. I've packed DH off with my apologies and am having a lie down just in case. Have hospital appnt in the morning anyway so if nothing develops before then at least I might have a little more info to go on then! Good luck to Oi, Darcies and Mmmm. I think if someone would go soon it would lift my spirits no end!

festivefiggy · 06/12/2011 17:37

I've spent the day watching Shaun of the dead and writing Xmas cards sat over the back of a chair (wish I'd bought a ball now for bouncing). DH and I went for a walk at lunchtime as thought the fresh air and ice-cream from shops might help the lurgy. Have found it's gone into my nose so while sounding very antisocial my throat doesn't hurt anymore so still feeling much better.

It's been a few days since we've had another arrival some of you ladies do sound like you are getting there Grin. DH and I making lunch and puss in boots at cinema plans for Friday afternoon so baby figgy to stay put until the weekend!!

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 06/12/2011 17:41

hi everyone - apologies if I've missed anyone's exciting news, but we only got home yesterday, and I haven't had a chance to catch up on the thread. DS2 arrived safe and well on the 1st December, weighing 8 lbs 5 oz Grin. He is gorgeous, but a bit yellow (thankfully his jaundice isn't bad enough to need treatment, so it should go down in a few days). My c-section went well, and I felt more mobile more quickly after this one than the last - I was kept on bed rest for 24 hours, then got up and had a shower and felt much more human again. DS2 is bf - mostly going okay, but sometimes he seems to turn into a screaming banshee in the middle of a feed and it takes a bit of time to get him to latch on again. My spd also seems to have pretty much disappeared, although the (long) walk from the postnatal ward to the hospital car park pretty much exhausted me (furthest I've walked with or without crutches for quite a while). I do have to say that although I am really happy to be home now, I am missing the magic hospital beds, with buttons that can raise and lower them - it makes it so much easier to get in and out of them, rather than my still rather whale-like attempts to get out of bed at home!

DS1 seems quite taken with him, which is a relief - the first day he visited at the hospital he didn't want to hold the baby at first, but we didn't push it and he was soon asking for a cuddle. At the next visits, that was the first thing he asked - when can I hold him. His face also completely lit up when he was given a present of a t-shirt calling him the best big brother in the world Smile. Mind you, he was also completely taken with all the other presents he's been given in the last couple of days to make sure he doesn't feel left out - my son the mercenary!

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 06/12/2011 17:53

Sotired Congratulations Grin

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 06/12/2011 18:35

That's fantastic news sotired, congratulations. Sounds like you've done a brilliant job with with your DS1 too- gifts and appealing to their mercenary side is the way to go!

Hope you continue to recover and that his jaundice continues to improve.

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 18:39

aethelfleda · 06/12/2011 18:51

Yay! Congratulations sotired and lovely that DS1 is (so far) managing well with the new arrival. Also great that your SPd has improved so quickly, that must be a huge relief.

Glad your blessingway went well too, msbuggy :)

Sleighbellsinthesnow · 06/12/2011 19:05

Congrats Sotired! Glad things went well for you!

Well my pains have slowed/virtually stopped again so nothing happening here Sad.

Don't think we've heard from Tinsel today but that may just be my baby brain. Know she was having a sweep earlier so fingers crossed something happening for her.

Hohohomouse · 06/12/2011 20:08

I have period type pains.
Probably trying to distract me from the Champions League. Meh
