Squee-eeze those muscles, or squee-ee-eeeze those babies out!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

yup hawthers anytime... i was 37 weeks, i just had the "normal" reflexology, as mentioned, they wont do labour inducing things until 40 weeks, however when she did mine, she told me i was far to tense/ stressed and that my muscles wouldn't let baby enter the pelvis etc if i was too tense, so she worked on that, and also the pains i had, which helped me to relax, the days after i felt a lot better, and by the end of the week labour had started :)

Tinselperion I have a feeling both of those things combined will kick start things off for you :o

seven I am formula feeding, i was going to "give it a go" (breast feeding), but with everything that happened i wouldn't have been able to manage it.
We had him on SMA and he got constipated, so cooled boiled water, and a switch to cow and gate sorted him out :) I am tempted to try breast feeding maybe... i'm not sure! Now my milk has come in, i have an urge to do it!

oi i am feeling thursday will be your day!!!

Falalalalababy · 05/12/2011 21:00

figgy hope the skunk gets better soon, uti goes away and baby comes naturally
honey and oi hope things get cracking!
The gp sent me to hospital today again for a bp series and again it was a non event! Hopefully next time I go to the hospital it will be to pop!!!

msbaublestwinkle · 05/12/2011 21:07

falala great that it went well.

seven hurray for pooey Eva! Took me right back to DD2's explosive bum, she only pooed once a week from 6 weeks old or so. We had to stay at home that day as she would need a bath!

DP is tidying the living room, I am busily being excited about tomorrow! One of my lovely friends (she is a painter) is doing a cast of the bump and painting it for me!

Mmmmcheese · 05/12/2011 21:49

cheep we had DS christened when he was 1 and combined it with a first birthday so all the relatives only had to make the journey once and i did a huge sit down meal for 16!

Ive been getting quite regular tightenings for the last hour and a half. A bit painful but not too bad. About 10 - 14 mins apart at the moment. DH getting very excited and just gone out to de-ice the car! Im feeling very calm though as dont want to get excited and then nothing happens. Its difficult though as DS was a very quick labour so i shouldnt hang around if things are happening but i also dont want to have to get DS out of bed and to our neighbour unless its the real thing. All i really want to do is go to bed, might just lie down for a bit and see what happens.

Falalalalababy · 05/12/2011 22:00

I am seriously wondering about the name of this thread...
More like once we pop, then we take a long break and wonder.... Whether we will all have to be induced!!!

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 05/12/2011 22:07

Xmas Grin @ Oi, Tinsel and mopsy. Thank-you for your kind words on my loss.
It was a large, nearly full bottle of dry martini. As I do enjoy a martini (as in the cocktail) I used to keep the bottle in the fridge, so that it was perfectly chilled. Obviously, there was no point in having it there for 9 months, so moved it to the side with the other booze- mistake.

I have to say that although tinsel's grandfather was entirely correct (I was told to pour the gin, show the martini bottle to the glass then put it away) I tend to go for a more 50/50 mix, very cold, with olive.

Sounds like we may be up for some more babies soon!

msbaublestwinkle · 05/12/2011 22:18

Nope falala we're all going to go on the same day Grin

Can we stop talking about alcohol now please!? Soooooo many times I have nearly opened the post-birth prosecco that is sitting in the fridge!

aethelfleda · 05/12/2011 22:41

Aarg, all this talk of booze is giving me gin cravings... Fortunately we're out of tonic (note to self, get more tonic!!)...

And in other news, lots of BHs, definite pregnancy brain (almost brushed my teeth with facial scrub a minute ago!) and have shocked myself by calculating that if I do end up needing to be induced (42 weeks around here) it won't be til Jan 10th!!!.... That is FAR too long away to countenance....

Sleighbellsinthesnow · 05/12/2011 22:41

Kri5ty relaxing - now there's a tactic I don't think I've tried! Maybe that's what I'll do tmrw!

Mmmmcheese sounds v exciting/promising. We need someone to kick us off again! Good luck.

I'm off to bed and tonight I WILL sleep!

Mmmmcheese · 05/12/2011 23:12

6 mins apart now but still doesn't feel like this is it, not painful enough yet. Really don't want another false alarm! DH getting a bit nervous and wants me to call hospital but I feel so calm and pain definitely manageable. Worried its all just going to stop any minute.

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 03:52

ooh, mmmmmcheese - have you had any progress yet?

I would offer to send vibes your way, but mine seem to be broken....

Grin
Mmmmcheese · 06/12/2011 04:25

Tightenings got to 3 mins apart for an hour but just didn't feel painful enough for the real thing so sent DH to bed and watched tv in bed. They then got 20 mins apart so I managed to get to sleep but just been woken up by a trickle of waters. Either that or I wet myself in my sleep which doesn't seem very likely! Have put a pad on and wearing a maternity towel to see what happens but not had any pain since I woke up.

Should I call hospital and tell them or can I go back to sleep and see what happens? LO not moved since I woke up but only bEen awake 5 mins, hoping she moves soon.

Mmmmcheese · 06/12/2011 04:26

Oops, meant that I'm lying on towels and put a pad on!

Mmmmcheese · 06/12/2011 04:38

Just had a hefty kick so bit more reassured.

BeeMyBaby · 06/12/2011 05:44

I think you are meant to call the hospital as soon as either your waters break or you have contractions which are every 5 mins or less, but you had a previous quick labour I would definitely call.

So I was very disappointed (and had lots of hormonal crying) today as Hawwa has lost too much weight (over 13%) and the MW said I have to give her top ups for at least the next week, so looks like another unsuccessful BF attempt. I've not been managing to express enough to give her only EBF as I only manage 20 ml and have been told she needs 30-40ml after every feed on the breast so I've been having to give formula. Very gutted as I was hoping that I wouldn't have the same experience I had with DD1 but seems to be the same kind of thing, although my milk came through on day4 this time, by then Hawwa was too weak to suck it out.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 07:08

Mmmm I'd ring the MW if your waters have gone.

Bee Don't beat yourself up. you tried and that's all that matters. Smile

Well didn't sleep to well, baby was pushing against my cervix which was a weird feeling - although hoping its helping with effacement & dilation Xmas Grin although had some bleeding in the night, my MW is on annual leave this week so waiting for my GP to open so he can check me out, I've sent DP to work for now. no contractions but tightenings and back ache!

Hohohomouse · 06/12/2011 07:23

cheese n darcies looks good for both of you! Keep it up and send me some spare tightenings or BH's or ANYTHING...starting to get a little impatient here...

bee stop being mean to yourself this instant! You have done all you can and topping up doesn't mean you have to go full ff does it? I am sorry you are feeling a bit :(

Come on babies, let's pop some out prior to the weekend and the full moooooooonnnnn!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 07:40

who thinks I should call the hospital to get checked out instead of my GP for the bleeding?

Hohohomouse · 06/12/2011 07:50

darcies woaah. Missed the bleeding in your post. I would say probably hospital just because GP will probably send you there anyway. Can you do a phone consultation with Dr and see what they suggest?
Is it like show or more like fresh blood?

msbaublestwinkle · 06/12/2011 08:02

Morning! Eventful night it seems...

mmm hope things have got more exciting for you now!

darcies if it is red blood and more than a few spots I would be heading to hospital.

bee 30-40ml sounds more like an entire feed than a top up to me. Here is the info on increasing supply kellymom.com/bf/supply/low-supply.html. It is perfectly possible to get back to ebf from topping up if you want to, the most important thing is to keep trying to get Hawwa to latch when she is hungry, giving the top ups via syringe rather than bottle can make it easier to go back to the breast as she won't learn a different way of sucking! If you need any more specific help just pm me, I'll have time this afternoon to do a proper long BFC reply rather than a half asleep one!

Didn't sleep well, but was having a few more contractions. Would quite enjoy being in early labour during my Blessingway!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 08:04

Spots of fresh red blood not mucus or anything and not that much blood, seems to off stopped for a mo!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 08:05

Msbaubles Fingers crossed for labour today Xmas Grin

Hohohomouse · 06/12/2011 08:18

darcies maybe it's because your cervix has been monkeyed around with and you just need to keep an eye on it...? Dunno, not qualified in any way but would seem to make sense

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 06/12/2011 08:20

HoHo even tho my cervix was played around with on Sunday?

Falalalalababy · 06/12/2011 08:30

darcies what did the hospital say?

Sending labour vibes, though not sure how effective they are! I am still in bed trying to motivate myself to head to Westfield for some Xmas shopping. Though really just want to head back to bed.

Baby finally engaged! Yippee! Though doesn't mean anything does it
