Minicheep has her ays and nights mixed up and has sleptl day and will be awake feeding all night Sad then son gets up at 6.30am

I can cope with the new baby is trying to stop my son rom touching, stroking, kissing and trying to hod her that i can't cope with, it feels like every 5 mins i' telling him to leave her lone as she is feedin, sleeping or having her nappy changed Confused

I so tired.

Minicheep had her first bath yeasterday and her cord has come off Grin

I keep checking in to see if any more babies but as i'm so tire i'm only skim reading the post and its hard to think stright right now , sorry Blush

Mmmmcheese · 03/12/2011 18:57

cheep my DS did that for a while and it was exhausting! Must be so much worse with another DC to worry about too. My DS is quite obsessed with dolls and babies and I can see that I will probably have the same problem in terms of poking etc.

With the day/night sleeping the only thing that helped was making sure it was really quiet at night and no lights on. I would change nappies by the light of the nightlight and not feed with TV/music on and if I did talk would whisper very quietly. Then during the day he would sleep in his moses basket in bright daylight with tv/music on and I wouldn't try and be quiet, just carried on as normal. Don't know if that is any help, but it did work in the end and DS is now an amazing sleeper and nothing wakes him up even if we are noisy.

HoneyLovesChristmasCake · 03/12/2011 19:16

Sharing all your frustration...today was the day I'd planned to have my baby & I'm getting quite annoyed I'm not in active labour. Control freak? Moi? Xmas Grin DP finds it very amusing of course. The MW I met at my last appt (the one I didn't like who was covering from another area) is also covering home births on Sunday; got a bit weepy earlier at the thought I might have to deal with her while in labour. Have told DP she can sit in the cold damp utility room if she doesn't behave herself Xmas Grin

cheep stats thread should be up to date if you want to know if any new babies have been born. Hope minicheep gets her days & nights the right way round soon Xmas Smile

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 03/12/2011 20:21

Oi, with a start like that (bringing you papers in bed!), you are going to be the MIL from hell! Grin

However, I'm getting a bit worried hearing about all this exercise and lifting (Mouse, please be careful of your back!). Surely the lady of leisure business is better for us at the moment! (I let my FIL drive us to a leisure centre today, for a b'day party, and am now letting DH put a rather whiny DS to bed - ahahaha)! I am impressed by the queue jumping, btw!

Well done to your DD on the theatre demonstration, Darcies!

Sorry to hear people are aching and frustrated and pissed off. Staying away from the phone and lying about the date sound very sensible plans, and now that I've missed my "window" for early labour (10 days), I see little sign of its happening anytime soon, so have put off any expectation till next weekend, which is actually the EDD. Perhaps I'll be caught by surprise, but the idea of living in suspense for a week is exhausting...

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 03/12/2011 20:21

Oh, sorry, cheep, missed your post. Poor little Minicheep and her over-ardent admirer! Grin She's evidently too cute...

OiMistletoe · 03/12/2011 20:25

Really intense back pains this evening. ...Is this the start?! Going to have dinner (DH has done a sausage casserole, mmmmm) and see what happens. I'll keep you informed if they start becoming regular/measurable.

bennybenbear · 03/12/2011 20:45

Ooooh!! Fingers crossed OI!

Falalalalababy · 03/12/2011 20:50

Hey all, not only am I still suffering with flu, my DH has it too now! We were supposed to go for a friends birthday tonight and instead are both in our pjs in bed!!!

Tomorrow is 38 weeks for me. Still hoping for an early labour...but ideally not for a few days till we both feel a bit better. My mum is coming over on weds to stay. Yippee I can't wait to have her here cooking foe me :)

Fingers crossed for you Oi
Hope it doesn't happen till Monday honey.

kri5tycringle · 03/12/2011 20:52

oi that's how mine started! Lost the plug, then from about 3pm and that night I was having really intense back pains, throughout the night, then in the morning they were coming more often, by 10 I realised they were def contractions, and I held off until 3pm to go to hospital. All my contractions were in my back

Baths really do help!

Oooo I hope this is it x x

KateKringle · 03/12/2011 20:57

kri5ty So pleased to hear about your highs today, and to see the photo of Saul - he's perfect

Fingers crossed for you Oi

39 weeks today and still absolutely no sign of this baby making an appearance, although I think it's moved down a bit. We went out to buy Christmas trees today which involved travelling down lots country roads, and I certainly had some 'interesting' sensations down through my fanjo with every bump we went over!

Highs for the day: decorating the tree and house and feeling very festive. Curry for dinner Xmas Grin

OiMistletoe · 03/12/2011 21:47

If it is the start, I may follow your path Kristy, it's starting slow.

LittleMissHumbuggery · 03/12/2011 21:56

Hope all's well folks. Having a quiet day, off to bed. Take care:)

festivefiggy · 03/12/2011 22:04

Have just had a very close encounter with a mirror and my stretch marks god they are everywhere!!

I've had curry for tea last night and chilli tonight come on baby!!

aethelfleda · 03/12/2011 22:37

I don't have any stretchmarks (that's denial, that is. It's far cheaper than bio oil, which I was shocked to see in Mothercare going for £15 a bottle!!!)

DD1 lost another tooth yesterday and put it under her pillow along with a note lambasting the tooth fairy for "not giving her mate Max enny money" last time (he refused to part with his tooth as he wanted to keep it!!)
So have a conspiracy with his mun who's going to plant the letter and 10p under his pillow then we'll see what they say to each other on Monday! (girls with newborns, you'll have this sort of stuff in 6 years time!)

kri5tycringle · 03/12/2011 22:40

oi I know its hard, but try and sleep tonight... that's one reason I struggled, I was awake from 2am it started as couldn't sleep, then didn't sleep the night when early labour started, then I was in hospital the night after in labour, and the night after that I was awake all night too because of the pain lol

Ooo and if you get sent to the canteen... pick a quiet corner Wink

lmh your pompoms make me laugh everytime... I want some!

*figgy those 2 words are banned!! Grrr nasty things!

Sending lots of labour vibes out to everyone!

msbuggy how are you getting on? I think you were my due date buddy too? X

sevenswansaswimming · 03/12/2011 23:14

oi fingers crossed this is it!

cheep don't apologise, I've mostly just been skimming too recently too. How is your DS's behaviour, mine has taken a turn for the worse since his sister arrived, despite us trying to give him as much attention as possible, it's exhausting not being able to just relax, I'm either feeding, playing or trying to keep us with the housework.

Sorry to all of those fed up of being pregnant now, I wish for babies all round soon!

sevenswansaswimming · 03/12/2011 23:17

Also meant to say after discussing we've decided not to have any more children, one reason being that pre-term births and fast labours don't mix. I wouldn't be allowed a home birth and doubt there'd even be time to make it hospital next time.

HoneyLovesChristmasCake · 03/12/2011 23:45

Hope it's labour Oi I'm sure you're going to beat me to the finish Xmas Smile Feeling calmer about things now, I just finished baking a mahoosive batch of Delia's tiny cheese onion & olive scones. Baking calms me...I shall get up tomorrow & bake some cupcakes & forget all about having baby this weekend; if it happens so be it & if not I'm going to have a lot of baked goods in the freezer Xmas Grin

aethelfleda mama mio oil is £23 a bottle Xmas Shock but no stretch marks (yet) so I guess it's worth the money if I can manage to keep it that way. Xmas Hmm Your DD is tooo cute...can't wait 'til LO is grown & getting up to stuff like that Xmas Smile

BeeMyBaby · 04/12/2011 01:25

thanks for the congrats everyone, and msbuggy thanks for the info on leaving nipples to air dry, it seems to have helped a bit - qn, last time I ended up with thrush in my nipples (probably due to my sugar full diet) but I thought lansinoh had probably made it worse by creating a moist environment, have you ever heard of it contributing to thrush?

kri5ty I'm a bit late adding my half a penny in but I completely agree with mopsy that it is all down to luck (and the medical staff who happen to be on shift).

Good luck oi, how are you feeling?

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 04/12/2011 05:02

I've managed to avoid stretch marks those until late in the day, but now have a really weird patch just above my belly button of all places! Was expecting them along the side, but no, a weird shiny patch like an ice rink above the button with three short marks. V odd.

HLCC that all sounds gorgeous Xmas Smile.

Hope something's happening Oi?

At least you sound dead cheerful in your posts falalala, even if you and your DP don't feel it. Double flu, what fun. If you've got to suffer it and be really pregnant, the very least you want is someone to wait on you hand and foot!

OiMistletoe · 04/12/2011 08:44

Morning all, the back pains calmed to make way for sausage casserole (very sensible!), and then came back but not as strong. I went to bed feeling really uncomfortable, took 2 paracetamol and eventually slept really well. No pain this morning, still no baby bearing today's Telegraph. Sad
A false alarm. Sorry. (rubbish!!!)
I'm not going to go to aquanatal this morning though, I am still mucus-ating! (how much mucas????!!!! Scary! Still, I suppose this will help the baby slide out, so I can leave the WD40 at home.)
C'mon baby, we'd like to meet you today. Never before have I wished to feel pain... Tis quite bizarre!
Despite my huge belly with huge baby, and added water swelling, I have no stretchmarks yet. I've used the gorgeous Clarins stuff throughout. And at least 6 midwives have commented on my super soft skin. Grin

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 04/12/2011 08:57

Thanks Plu She was very graceful Smile

Stretch marks - thankfully I haven't gained anymore from DD even then they are only tiny ones and not not used any cream or oil as if your going to get them your going to get them!

Oi hope your in labour Smile

Figgy Hope you & DH get rid of the flu quickly.

Thought my waters might of started to leak this morning as felt very wet! sorry for TMI so going to keep an eye on it today. still got back ache tho Sad

msbaublestwinkle · 04/12/2011 09:01

Morning! We had a crappy day yesterday, for no real reason.

kristy I'm not due for a fortnight, but am having contractions every evening for a few hours. Miri has been told to appear next Saturday!

bee great that you're starting to heal! Thrush does thrive in a damp environment, so Lansinoh and thrush don't mix wonderfully.

On stretch marks, I'm so much bigger in the bump this time (what with DD1 being prem and DD2 being IUGR) that I do now have a fine compliment of them! They don't bother me in any case though, I use pure cocoa butter on them which stops them being so itchy and I don't much care about the way my belly looks, I'm just too pleased to be having a normal sized baby for once!

Have started planning the post-baby diet :(

aethelfleda · 04/12/2011 09:23

Morning! I do have some cocoa butter type moisturiser like you, msbuggy, it's just I never seem to get time to sit down and use it! Might bribe the DDs to do it, they like patting my bump...
I believe "S-Ms" are like morning sickness: they run in filies, if your mum got them you prob will too, more so wiith bigger tummies, late babies and twins. Mostly they fade to little silver lines after a year or two, so fret not first timers if yours are a hideous deep pink colour just after baby comes!

And nipple cream wise: I'd rather have well lubed nipples and hope i don't get thrush rather than put up with dry cracked painful nipples, which made BFing much harder. Some ladies are just unlucky with thrush and get it, I'm not convinced that risk changes much with cream esp as Lanison is lanolin based: that's a grease base ie oil, not watery. So it acts as a barrier like eczema creams do, wouldnt have thought that would encourage thrush, esp if you're air drying those nipples (Tmi?!) we'll see. I'm just hoping Widget takes to BFing this time around: dD1 was a pain to get feeding but DD2 was fine.

Hohohomouse · 04/12/2011 09:30

msbaubles I hope the post baby planning diet is for after Xmas!
My plan is to eat like a heifer till January and THEN diet and do a lot of ashtanga yoga to help things snap back into place.
Looking forward to a lazy Sunday with the DH. He has flatly refused to visit the Xmas Tree Farm near us saying its too early and that we will go next weekend. Meh
I was hoping to get all Xmassy...The lights get turned on in our little town later so I might take a stroll and meet some of the NCT lot over a mulled wine.
I have woken up to the sound of church bells and some non epic period type pains. I hope the babe makes itself known soon. On the other hand, I am enjoying the calm before the storm....
This is such an odd time, glad I have you lot to waffle at.
To all those with new babies, thinking of you lots xx
