Hands around a mixture of V-shaped pillows, pregnancy pillows, and re-arranges the glittery vom buckets ready.

Gets the jelly snakes going, along with some Cadburys for good measure, and a strategically placed fruit bowl to disguise the unhealthy choices.

Flicks the duster round, sinks down into a comfy sofa and awaits the rest...

Did your toddler taming book turn up before you went away Dream? Mine got here yesterday - I didn't look in any detail but I did notice that there was a bit in there about controlled crying (which I know isn't want you want) but I think there was some other stuff - different tactics, but I didn't have a great deal of time to read it.

dreamfeeder · 29/11/2011 21:55

No, hope it'll be there when we get home tomorrow. She only had one lot of diarrhoea today, but her cough just doesn't seem to be improving. We hear her hacking away in the night, plus on going outside, morning, etc etc. Nose still running. She just can't seem to shake it off... Poor little tike. And its all so tiring!!!!

musicalmrs · 29/11/2011 22:47

Dream, so sorry she's not getting better :( But at least there's less diarrhoea... she needs a break from being ill!

Biscuits, what a rude cleaning man.

Generic, so glad the doctor sorted you out with a blood test - but I'm guessing you didn't hear the results today? Either way, wonderful that there's been no more bleeding, and brooking no argument for your soaring hCG levels! :)

Late post tonight as I've just been out for a spin in DH's new car! :D Lovely, huge (big boot too!), and with isofix thingies in the back for car seats - yay! Will be sad to see our un child friendly Ka go though :(

Also feeling a lot more movement, though no discernable kicks yet. Think I felt a somersault earlier, typically when I was in the middle of trying to do something important with a student - really threw me off!

Looking forward to a day at home tomorrow - although I'm not striking (I'm a tutor, not a teacher), none of my students are in school, so there's no point in me being there either. I have a consultants appointment about my spinal problems, pregnancy, epidurals and all that jazz on Friday morning, so beginning to worry about that a little...

Biscuitsandtea · 30/11/2011 09:35

Musical I was just wondering where you were yesterday - glad you're ok. Hope you enjoy your day at home.

Brooking for your appt on Friday - sounds like you have plenty of stuff to cover off there? Hope they give you lots of info and answers Smile

Hope everyone else is well?

GenericDietCola · 30/11/2011 09:36

Dream my DD is 2.2. Sorry yours is still not better, must be tough for you and her. I'm sure you will be able to sort out the bedtime issues when she is better and hopefully the book will help.

Muscial that's great news re the movements! What are your spinal problems if you don't mind my asking? Does it mean you may not be able to have an epidural?

Should get my blood results later today - will let you know.

RealLifeIsForWimps · 30/11/2011 09:47

Generic I think I will prob tell family when I go home at Christmas, depending on what the Obs says when I see her. Last time I saw her at 7 weeks she pretty much said from what she could see (strong HB, good position, nice sac) I'd be very unlucky to have a loss, but this one might be different. It's a balancing act though as I think most of my friends will have guessed by Christmas as I wont be drinking, and I don't want my family to be last to know, or, even worse, find out third hand - complicated by the fact that my sister lives where I do and we have a lot of friends in common.

Biscuits I feel your pain. Today I took DS shoe shopping. I think we may be permanently barred from Startrite. However, at least there were no poo/wee incidents, just a lot of screaming and toe scrunching.

Dream Sorry to hear your DD is still unwell. It's such a nightmare when they can't shake it off isn't it? You wonder if it will ever end. If it makes you feel better, since August DS has had 4 colds (one requiring a nebuliser) and Hand, foot and mouth.

musicalmrs · 30/11/2011 09:51

Biscuits, I'm enjoying it so far! :) I have a feeling it'll go by in a flash though, so really ought to get more work done... yes, plenty to cover in Friday's appointment. I've just found out DH is working from home that day, so he can come with me too - handy as he's got a better head for questions than me (even if I have a list with me, I tend to get sidetracked!).

Generic, I was diagnosed around a year ago with a bulging disk in my lower spine. It used to cause me a lot of problems - sciatic like pain for a year (not helped by physio!), and I was strugging to sit and walk any distance. They banded around ideas of surgery and steroid injections, but I had a course of Alexander Technique, which has made it controllable for the moment at least. It's played up a little bit more since being pregnant, but not madly so. The midwife was concerned about epidurals though, which I think is the main reason for the referral. I'm not planning on having one, but you never know what might happen...

Brooking for wonderful blood test results later - hope you do get them today.

GenericDietCola · 30/11/2011 10:33

Wow Musical that sounds painful! I've had sciatica, but not due to any disc problems. I've got one leg a bit shorter than the other - I think it's common and is a postural thing. I have to wear a little wedge in my shoe and had physio for a while but it's loads better now. You won't need an epidural and I will brook no argument. I didn't and I am a wimp!

Real good that you can have a scan before Christmas and tell your family then.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 30/11/2011 11:00

Hello! How is everyone?

Generic your results will be perfect!

Thanks for thinking of me Dream I am having my next BP check on Saturday. Sorry to hear DD is still not quite right and the sleeping is rubbish. I think while she is still a bit poorly cuddling to sleep is perfectly acceptable, she will get better. Then you can start getting her back into her routine but until then do what you have to do. She is still only very young, very much a baby still.

Biscuits My DD will be 2yrs 10 months when this baby arrives and I am getting a double for those sort of reasons, also I walk everywhere and she is not a good walker yet, only when she chooses to be! And, I can't bear the thought of being alone with her having a wobbly and a tiny baby to look after and not having anywhere to plonk her! + I don't know if my SPD will get magically better after I have delivered, I might have to have months of physio and there is no way I could manage. Can you tell I have thought about this alot? lol

Music I do not like the sound of a bulging disc Shock I do like the sound of your new car :)

I am doing very important essay writing I am not procrastinating or faffing about online.. Oh no, not me.

Biscuitsandtea · 30/11/2011 11:29

Purple I'd totally agree re the double - if DS had been younger I would have wanted one too. But at 3.6 which is what he'll be when the bean arrives, I don't think I'll manage to get even my lazy charming son into a pushchair Confused.

Hope your SPD clears up quickly though after pg - does it usually take a while to clear or is it one of those magic pg symptoms that just disappears once you've given birth?

Dream glad your DD's bottom end is on the mend - hope the rest of her catches up soon. If she's starting to get better she'll gradually be able to fight off each bit of the illness I'm sure. If she's no longer dealing with the runs I'm sure her body will be able to tackle the cough etc better. And then you can fret about getting her back into her sleeping routine if she doesn't automatically fall back into it anyway. You'll know when she's back to her old self. And it will come - honest!

scarletfingernail · 30/11/2011 11:46

Morning all

Biscuits the day you had yesterday is what nightmares are made of. I'm dreading the day DS decides he's had enough of sitting in his pushchair in town. I'm also not getting a double as he'll be 3.5 by then so he'll be out of it sooner rather than later anyway. I think I shall just avoid town altogether when the new baby comes or only go when I can bribe another adult to come with me. Ie my Mum.

dream I hope your DD starts feeling a lot better soon. Seems like you guys have been plagued by illness by illness for a while now and deserve a break from it.

Musical I hope you have an informative appointment on Friday and you manage to find out everything you need to know. Bulging disk sounds very unpleasant (understatement).

Generic brooking for some excellent blood test results for you today.

Well, only 2 days to go until my 20 week scan. This is the big one I've been stressing about. The thought of anything wrong being picked up at this stage is too awful. There is some history of this in my family so has perhaps made me overly worried about it. Could do with some brooking.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 30/11/2011 11:53

I am brooking Scarlet I have been scared to death with each of my scans and was asking questions, my Sonographer was really good and went through everything she was looking at in a way she didn't with DD, when I was positively nonchalant in comparison!

Biscuits it can be something that magically gets better... However, my friend didn't get it until she was 7 1/2 months and had to pay for private physio in the end as it wasn't going, and she was still suffering 9 months post birth!
I have had this since 15 weeks, obviously I am brooking that I will pop this baby out and magically will be all fixed.

pommedechocolat · 30/11/2011 11:54

Lots of brookingg for Scarlet's scan and Generic's blood result from down south.

DD is totally hyper this week - I seriously can't keep up. So glad that today is work/nursery day! We are having lots of tantrums and frustration. What fun! We are also having shop issues - can't even go in Tesco without her getting upset I'm not buying her a comic. She really loves stickers but I can't keep buying the ones in town. Think I need to find a cheap online source!

fishcakefoxtrot · 30/11/2011 12:03

Purple I too am at home, working very hard and not messing around on the internet. My viva is next week and if I think about it too much I feel physically sick. So actually procrastination is the best thing for me, given my delicate condition.

I had been hoping to get away with a buggy and a sling but my DD will be about the same age as yours, purple, and I feel I might be a bit optimistic. I don't fancy wrangling a tantrumming nearly-3 year old with a small baby strapped to me...

Hope you are having a drier day biscuits!

Scarlet is your scan on Friday? I have my 20 week one on Friday too! In the afternoon. The viva next week is taking my mind off it but it is nerve-wracking. Fancy some mutual brooking/ handholding? And I think Dream's is tomorrow? So with Musical's appointment on Friday too, perhaps we can have a mass lot of brooking no arguement that all will be well.

fishcakefoxtrot · 30/11/2011 12:04

And for generic's soaring hormone levels, too, of course!

Biscuitsandtea · 30/11/2011 12:09

Much drier today thanks Fishcake To be fair that was his only accident yesterday - I was just fed up with it all. Like Scarlet, town will cease to exist to me once the Minibiscuit arrives unless I have an entourage that Mariah Carey would be proud of!

I am on hyper brooking now for the 20 week scans on Friday and Musical's appointment too. And dream's scan tomorrow. I have upped to hyper-brooking and will continue at that level for the foreseeable future.

scarletfingernail · 30/11/2011 12:10

Hi fishcake yes my scan is on Friday, also in the afternoon. I think you might be right about dream's being tomorrow so it seems as though once again we have a scanathon on this thread. A mass lot of brooking for all scannees, musical's appointment, Generic's results and Purple's BP sounds a good idea.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 30/11/2011 12:17

Glad I am not the only one Fish honestly it is terrible! I haven't even opened up my saved files, I just can't seem to get in the groove, it is only a 1000 words so I know I can do it quickly as long as I get into it. I also have another essay to do and finish another piece of work. I am trying to kick myself up the arse as I need to at east be up to date by the time I have the baby as I will only be 3/4 way though and I will have to do essays with my baby.

I have a 1000 excuses, DH is doing open Uni course and overtime everyday as I am not getting any sick pay so I can't use the computer in the evening. But I have until 3pm today child free to do some work and I am just not doing it gah! Please kick me up the arse someone?

I was thinking of doing the sling thing, and I do have a couple but I just don't think my back will be up to it! Do you walk everywhere? If you do I would think about a double. My logic is that I would use a pushchair with DD until she was 3 1/2 if I wasn't having another baby so why make life difficult for myself 8 months earlier? However I thought about this a lot as I don't want to spend the money and I have some really nice pushchairs already, so I felt like I was sorted.

Oops sorry for the rant Blush

GenericDietCola · 30/11/2011 13:26

Scarlet I am brooking like mad for a good scan day for you on Friday.

Purple you poor thing with SPD. My Dsis had it and was off work for a bit, but I think it cleared up quite quickly post-birth. Did you have it last time? I think Dsis's experience was similar for both her boys.

Pomme my DD loves stickers too - I bought some good ones from the pound shop - ours has books with farm animals etc and you have to put the sticker in the right place - she loves them!

Fishcake also brooking for your scan! And Dream's!

Am reading the buggy talk with interest as my DD will be about 2.11 if all goes well, so we could possibly get away with a sling and a push chair. I know DH will baulk at the thought of buying a double! Mind you I can't really imagine her walking all the way into town by then, so we may need one after all. Perhaps an Ebay purchase, which we can sell on after a few months.

I phoned for my results and the receptionist couldn't access them so I have to wait until tomorrow and ring to speak to the GP - argh! I know this result will tell me very little, it's the combination of Monday's results and next Monday's, which will tell me more, so I must be patient. Anyway, I got straight off the phone and peed on my one remaining stick, which was a very bold, strong positive, so I can only assume that my levels have risen since I did my first test last Tuesday. No more bleeding and nausea definitely here, so I will assume all is well. Ooh I've had my letter re booking an early scan, so maybe I'll ring up and try to get that booked now to give me something else to panic abbout focus on.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 30/11/2011 13:35

Generic an eager pee stick is a good sign! I did many of those, had about 30 cheapy tests and used most of them in the early weeks. Rubbish about having to wait another day. But it will be fine!
I am going to get a Peach Blossom so I can use it as a single afterwards and sell the extra seat and bits on, so it isn't a complete waste of money...
I didn't have SPD at all last time so it is all new to me.

Biscuitsandtea · 30/11/2011 13:40

Glad to hear about your agreeable pee stick Generic. You could think about a buggy board perhaps for your older one if it would fit on your pram?

GenericDietCola · 30/11/2011 13:40

Bugger, that letter was to arrange my booking in, not for a scan. Oh well, I've got that booked now. Looks like I need to pester my doctor again re an early scan - I'd really like one before Christmas.

Purple what bad luck to have SPD this time. I hope it all clears up very quickly. Have you got one of those bump support things? My Dsis had one and it did help a bit.

GenericDietCola · 30/11/2011 13:41

That's a good idea re buggy board - thanks Biscuits. I think she would like that!

scarletfingernail · 30/11/2011 13:41

Generic a good strong BFP on a pee stick is a good sign, especially if it's a better line than the last one. I was the same as purple I PIAR practically every day until my 8 week scan and used up all 25 cheapies. It made me feel better to see the line getting stronger.

GenericDietCola · 30/11/2011 13:55

Thanks Scarlet. It was strong on the first test as I was already a few days late, but I think today's was even stronger and it obviously wasn't FMU, so that must be a good sign. Right - must stop obsessing and get back to work!
