Hands around a mixture of V-shaped pillows, pregnancy pillows, and re-arranges the glittery vom buckets ready.

Gets the jelly snakes going, along with some Cadburys for good measure, and a strategically placed fruit bowl to disguise the unhealthy choices.

Flicks the duster round, sinks down into a comfy sofa and awaits the rest...

fishcakefoxtrot · 19/11/2011 12:12

Ah yes, 'MORE!' does start to grate a little. As does the command to 'SHARE' which seemed so sweet when it started. We are currently working on 'please'...

pommedechocolat · 19/11/2011 12:55

Thanks hawthers, I'm 25 weeks tomorrow. I got monitored all the way through with dd1 as well but she was always a good size with consistent growth so there was never anything to really talk about!
I can't remember how many weeks you are now just that you are nearly there!

Wants3 · 19/11/2011 14:17

hawthers feeling excited for you that you are getting so close and a bitEnvy that I am still waaaay off. I want to enjoy each stage of this pregnancy though as it is my last one so I shouldn't wish the time away!

Grrr! The heating is playing up again:( I think this time it's the valve as the water isn't heating up fully as it's going to the radiators instead). Another day of stressing for DH!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 19/11/2011 18:16

Poor you, Wants - hope the heating gets fixed soon.

I am also jealous of Hawthers being so nearly there! How are you feeling, Hawthers?

I had a mini-meltdown yesterday and DH had a worse one. We had a no-movement scare on Thurs night, but as soon as the doppler was dug out Bean decided to start jumping again, grr. Then the MW was supposed to come on Fri morning, but didn't turn up. Turns out she was on holiday - think she must have mixed up her weeks when she made the appt with us. DH went off to work, but got all worried and emotional and was sent home shortly after arriving Sad. I called the midwife practice and managed to get the on-call MW to come out instead. So she listened to heartbeat, did BP and urine test and that was all fine, and took some blood to see if I'm anaemic, because I have been coming home from work so tired I want to cry. I don't think it's anaemia - I think it's just stress. I wish I could just fast-forward the next 3 and a half months!

dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 18:57

Here here too and I haven't even had the experience you have to make me so anxious. I do remember getting in a panic multiple times last time for no movement, then feeling something when i was contemplating what to do next!! I for one will never enjoy pregnancy. My job, and having a vague idea at least of what can go wrong will always keep me v nervous. I'm glad the oncall mw came out to you and everything was fine. I'm sure it will continue to be. I also feel so tired I want to cry quite a lot. In fact, sometimes I have- blaming the hormones. Really fed up of the morning sickness too. Anyway, enough of that.

We went for a walk in the Lakes today- totally overdid it, for me anyway, so Dh had to come and rescue with the car for the last bit as I was hobbling at snail's pace with back pain. Then Dh cuddled dd to sleep, again... And she's still coughing loads and got another cold today. so unfair for her!

wants, dire news about the heating, hope your Dh can fix it or gets someone who can in.

Dumbledore sounds like you could do with doing something nice to cheer you up. I can't even begin to imagine how stressful pregnancy must be for you. Sounds as though your midwives are taking good care of you and are happy to give you the reassurance you deserve.

In my non pregnant life I usually like a couple of glasses of wine when I feel stressed. It's the one thing that helps me to relax and get some sleep so I'm missing it lots!

Wants hope you get your hot water problem sorted out soon. Cold showers are not the way to go.

dream I hope you're taking it easy this evening.

We've got our visitors here so I probably won't be back on this evening. I've made a delicious lasagne so we're just waiting for DS to fall asleep then I'm going to enjoy my dinner and chill out.

hawthers · 19/11/2011 20:12

I cannot lie this pregnancy had been incedibly stressful and its only now I'm starting to del a bit less stressed but still won't be able to relax until we are home with the new one. Have seen far too much ever to relax/enjoy a pg. Oh well.

Am now 35+2 and feel like a.big fat heffer. Sleep is getting more and more difficult but hope that means all is going well. Right best waddle off to finish cooking dinner.

dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 20:19

yum yum scarlet, sounds delicious! I have been weeing for England today, so I join you with the wierd days of can't stop peeing...

Am now on sofa. I did lamb shanks in the slow cooker (with stock, and loads of red wine, and a cinnamon stick and juniper berries), and they were yummy too. So I'm waiting to be a bit less full to get stuck into my big bar of galaxy, and that's my Saturday night!!!

Too, what about a nice weekend away with DH somewhere? Something relaxing and entirely un-child-friendly you can enjoy and know you won't have again for years!!! Are you 21 weeks now? Are you same as biscuits?

I can always remember exactly where scarlet is as she was my cycle buddy on the ttc thread, and know biscuits is 3 weeks ahead of me, pomme 25 weeks, hawthers 35 (!!! Envy ), jen, musical and meconium all about 13 ish... but that's it for my memory... purple must be in the 20- somethings, probably 23 ish???

I was thinking before what a shame I didn't save the advert for my monster buggy in case something goes wrong and I need to put it back on ebay, and then realised I must NOT be so negative, we are all Brooking No Argument...! I'm hopeless.. Can't believe nothing will go wrong...

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 20:20

oh hawthers! At least the finishing line is in sight!!! I totally agree though... the knowledge of what can go wrong- and worse for you, what Has gone wrong in the past is hard...

OP posts:
fishcakefoxtrot · 19/11/2011 20:42

Oh Too I hope you are having a better day. Can I offer you a hug and some virtual handholding?

It sounds as though most of us could do with some Brooking. I pepper any chat about pregnancy with 'if' and generally avoid talking about it altogether. I am so excited to hear about other people but I hate talking about my own pregnancy in real life for fear of tempting fate or something.

Am jealous of all this food talk. We had a rather mediocre pizza. Care to share your chocolate, dream Grin BTW Dream, I think we are roughly at the same point- I think our due dates were the same until mine got changed at the 12 week scan.

Hawthers I am in christmas denial, but I am right to think you will have your baby by then??

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 19/11/2011 21:04

Oh no, Dream, your poor DD! And poor you too, just when you could have done with a bit of a rest. I hope she throws this cold off quickly and gets better really soon.

I'd love a weekend away but sadly we're a bit broke at the moment and Christmas is looming. I don't think I could handle flying, so all those tempting mini-breaks on Groupon are out - I'm a nervous flyer at the best of times, and I would panic just now, I think. Plus my passport expired in Aug and I haven't got a new one yet. Maybe we can find somewhere cheap and not too far away. DH would love that too. I am 21 weeks now, yes - 21+1, in fact! Only 16 to go until ELCS.

Scarlet, I would love a glass of wine! Sadly it has started to taste like vinegar to me, so I can't even have one. Has this happened to anyone else? Usually I love wine. It must be some sort of inbuilt baby protection to stop you drinking. Your lasagne sounds lovely, mmm. DH made a cake this afternoon and I have been scoffing that - sponge cake with strawberry jam and cream filling.

Hawthers, 35+2 Envy! You're doing so well. Nearly there!

dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 21:08

Oh lovely fishcake, you're 18 weeks ish then? I'm 18+3 today. I do the 'if' thing!! I vary between wanting to talk about it to make it 'real' and not think about it let alone talk about it because it'd be worse if it all goes wrong. How old is your dd again? Of course you can share my chocolate, it was a 2 for £2 spar special I couldn't resist and I've eaten 3/4 of a bar myself now greedy fat pig! no wonder I'm banging on the weight- up to 8st10 already now!!!! I do still have lots of bad nights, which just seems to make me super- greedy when I'm not feeling sick...

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 21:15

too, we had a lovely break at a very posh b&b in Melrose when I was 36 weeks. It was fab, great food, lucky with the weather. Took dd's car seat incase, so as not to tempt fate, LOL. I didn't want to go too far from home- my criteria was we had to be back In time for me not to be too uncomfortable if we jumped in car if my waters broke or anything!! We did go to Austria when i was 26 weeks and walk up a 2600m mountain though...

Poor dd has woken up coughing and snuffling and crying, so off I go...

Wowser dream that is one heck of a lot of £££ for a second hand pram, i hope you can fit LOADS of little people in it! And Hmm strange he forgot he was going to bring it up nearer you, very convenient.
How funny musical that yur baby vibrates too. Very much like a purring kitty, i agree!
Have just been looking at next years diary and working out when i might start maternity leave. Have an active job so wont be able to work til the end, have got two weeks annual leave booked very conveniently at 35 and 36 weeks, so could then pop straight onto maty leave at 37 weeks. Which makes it only 4 months and a week til maternity leave! Hmm this seems not very far away at all!!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 19/11/2011 21:48

Oooh, I am planning to work until 36 weeks (2nd March), assuming I will be having my ELCS the following Friday or thereabouts. How many weeks are the rest of you planning to work to (those of you who work)?

Grin at Dream feeling fat at 8st10, 18 weeks pg with twins! I was a lot heavier than that when I got pg (haven't weighed myself since, too scared), and I'm only 5'2". Magic bf diet...

MeconiumHappens · 19/11/2011 22:05

oooh baby is vibrating like mad at the mo, must be the delicious combination of an apple and some haribo...

Ah 8st 10, what i would give to have EVER weighed 8st 10. On the bright side havent put on anything at all in the 8 weeks since my 1st midwife appt despite eating pretty much what i fancy. Trying to eat 5 a day fills up a good amount of my day since cant stomach the idea of veg since being pregnant, plus ive gone completely off dinner so end of having cereal/beans on toast type things for tea.

dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 22:12

I worked til 36 last time...just taking day's annual leave to not have to do full weeks for the last 4. This time I'm thinking 30. Unless I get signed off with my back...

Bf was magic for me too!! Thinner than pre pregnancy by 6 months while eating cake whenever I felt like it :-)

OP posts:
musicalmrs · 19/11/2011 22:15

Hope it gets sorted soon Wants. I couldn't survive without my shower in the morning to get me going..

Too, so sorry to hear about your scare, and trouble with the midwife. Know what you mean about wanting to fast forward time - I'm already counting down the lessons until maternity leave begins (between 14 and 16 left to go...!). I'll be about 34/35 weeks when I stop teaching, but 36/37 until I officially go on maternity leave, thanks to the jobs of Easter - means I can get a little more money I think (maybe!). I might cut down the hours I do at half term though, if I'm struggling, and if I can find cover...

Hawthers, I hope you're managing to relax a little bit more now you're doing so well! I can't begin to imagine how stressful it's been. I think I'm in between - I was very stressed and worried to begin with (especially after the couple of bleeds - constantly thinking I was bleeding again), but I'm managing to relax a little more now.

dream, it's 15 weeks for me tomorrow! So I imagine Meconium's a bit ahead of me. Jen is definitely somewhere similar. Some days I think it's flying past so quickly, and on others I think it's going soooo slowly... poor DD, hope she's getting better :(

Meconium, pretty much 4 months and a week for me too I think! I'll finish just before Easter probably, as long as the boroughs agree. I've sent emails to my employers trying to sort out maternity leave, but they're all being rubbish... grr.. will have to chase. Clearly your bean is reacting to your haribo sugar fix! :) Mine's done very little vibrating today - obviously not so partial to what I've eaten today! I'm wondering if it was doing something particularly spectacular last night, like front rolls or something, hence the massive amount of vibrations...

Also trying to book a weekend away - probably at around 25 weeks, during next half term. Wouldn't be flying anywhere though. We will have a nice, new economic car in a couple of weeks (rather than our current rubbish fuel-guzzling old one!), so will drive somewhere, though not sure where yet..

dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 22:16

meconium, snap! I even struggle to eat beans on toast, or much at all some nights and by the morning I'm so hungry I feel sick, so usually am, and eat chocolate or something quick to hand before getting on with getting me and dd dressed... I was much healthier by this time last pg... Oh dear.

OP posts:
MeconiumHappens · 19/11/2011 22:20

Im also hoping for the miracle shrinking bf diet! This baby is going to be bf for a LOOONG time!

dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 22:22

Oh what musical, I was so wrong!!! It's because I thought Jen had said she was 13+2 recently, but maybe she's 14 already, or it was much longer ago than I thought... Sorry!!

OP posts:
MeconiumHappens · 19/11/2011 22:26

i struggle to keep up with everyones dates too.

I thought I'd be eating much healthier than i do, not that i eat badly but i just cant face a lot of things, particularly veg which really turn me off. Anything cooked stodgy dinner/gravy etc has same effect. Im all about breakfast, boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit, juice etc all good.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 20/11/2011 05:19

Can't get back to sleep following my latest trip to the loo, so I thought I'd check in on you ladies. I'm 17 weeks now, which feels hard to believe! I find it impossible to keep up with anyone else's dates though.

Very intrigued by the mat leave talk! I have 6 weeks of annual leave due, plus 6 bank holidays that will accrue, so I think I'll be heading off really early! (My development partner won't be thrilled...) At the moment I'm planning to use annual leave to take off every wed throughout jan & feb, and properly leave work at the end of feb (32 weeks). My mat leave will officially start at the end of march, which is my 36 week goal for the LO! Plus 36 weeks is when i have my extra scan where they'll decide if I need a scheduled cs. I feel a little guilty going off so very very early (most people in my office seem to leave around 36/37 weeks) but if I don't use my hol I just lose it! Plus I think by then my back will be insanely painful anyway.

I'm also desperately hoping the magical bf diet will work for me! My weight's been creeping up and up ever since I left uni, and I've never had the willpower to make the necessary lifestyle changes to get it back down. I'm a bit worried I'll put on loads of baby weight and never shift it! I'm kind of glad (iyswim) that you're all not eating v much either, I was starting to wonder if there's something wrong with me. People keep saying "oooooh eating for two!" and piling up my plate, when I can't even eat half of what I used to. Yday I had porridge for breakfast, half a sandwich for lunch and Percy pigs for dinner! Blush

hawthers · 20/11/2011 08:24

I'm just going to make you all jealous but I've only got 2 days of work left! Will be 36 weeks on thurs and I've found the last few weeks really tough so I can't wait.

Edd is 22 Dec so we should have a brooking baby by Christmas - will find some way to break Dh'a no pictures on the internet rule re the new one and sneak something onto my profile - wow listen to me being all optimistic.

jenfraggle · 20/11/2011 08:33

Just a quicky as on my phone. I'm 14 weeks today, it's going so slowly. Hopefully I will start to feel some movement soon.

Picked up my bounty pack yesterday, I now own a nappy but have no idea how to change one. I've got absolutely no experience of babies. I haven't a clue how to look after one or what it needs. I know you get shopping lists but they are by retailers trying to get you to buy as much as possible so not sure what is essential and what is luxury.

Well it looks like I lied about this being a quicky!
