Mikocat · 02/03/2012 08:44

Hello all.

Well I'm officially off on ML now - wahey! Only 31 weeks, but in all honesty I could not have managed much longer and the SPD meant that DH was having to drive me to and from work at the cost of his own time. It felt really weird leaving the office for a year.

I hope your viewing went well mythical, we have one this afternoon (buyers fell through on Tuesday - grrrrrr!) and potentially another at the weekend. I find the effort of having to tidy up all the time and put things away as soon as you use them to be quite stressful - I can't wait to go back to my old slobby ways.

Was terrified yesterday as had some really strong period-like pains, but I assume they were Braxton Hicks! Everyone I talk to is full of stories about early babies at the moment - just what I need to hear :)

SESthebrave · 02/03/2012 17:40

Yay for Mat Leave Mikocat :)

CatsyCat - that osteopath sounds brilliant! Is it possible to get NHS referals does anyone know or do you have to pay privately?

mythical - glad the antenatal class went well. LOL at your DH's MN comment! Good luck with the viewing.

I feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure at the moment as DH has been offered a job in Dubai. I've started a thread here if anyone has inclincation to read more or knows anything about Dubai!

Basse · 02/03/2012 17:42

oh mikocat enjoy, fantastic! now you can rest your spd. Yes I had the same with Braxton Hicks one day too - they just wouldn't stop and made it almost impossible to walk. Then suddenly gone next day. Mystery!
catsycat no, not bum, only coccyx pain (but that;s pgp related I think)
Is anyone else finding that their bladder feels constantly sore? I had my midwife check urine sample this week, and she is sure I din't have a UTI, but I feel like I do! Is it just the extra pressure on the bladder?

Newtothisstuff · 02/03/2012 19:46

Hey girls.. How's everyone feeling ?? I'm still crippled with the SPD.. Got some awesome pain killers from the doctor managed to get through this week at work with their help... Only 4 weeks to go until I finish Sad.. Had my 4D scan today it was amazing.. She was grabbing her feet and she even stuck 2 fingers up at us before she covered her face and refused to move them haha well worth the money I think.. She looks just like her dad too Grin

tostaky · 02/03/2012 21:36

hello!

glad to see everybody doing well and starting mat leave!

we are getting nearer to the date, i cant believe it!!!

im quite huge and ive decided i really really need to watch what i am eating.... i dont want a baby too big or risk a c section. plus i want to be able to move util the last day (and it is not looking good so far).
i have such a bad buttock pain (sciatca).... i have finally made an appointment with the osteopath the midwife recommended. i was surprised to learn that the full fee is £50 but BUT you can pay anything between £30 and £50....

..... got distracted by DS2 calling me from his bed...

luckynumber11 · 04/03/2012 17:05

Hi ses - just wanted to let you know I've read your thread about Dubai. What a dilemma for you. I don't really know how to advise, as I've never been to Dubai myself, or lived abroad. In fact, I have a similar background to you as far as domestic arrangements go - despite living away from home for 3 years at university, I then returned back to my parents home where I grew up as a child, and picked up my life with all my old secondary school friends. Then last summer we bought my mum and dad's house from them and they downsized to a bungalow in the same village as us. In January my sister just bought a house and moved back to the village...so I'm probably not the best person to give advice on making big leaps to the other side of the world away from family and support networks!
On the other hand, my husband grew up in an army family and lived all over the world as a child and in lots of different parts of the uk. He changed schools all the time and said it never bothered him and he loved all the different experiences. He also spent time in the army himself when younger and enjoyed all the opportunities to live in different countries. I think he would like the idea of living in warmer climes now...but he realises how much more difficult it is when children are involved, and the practicalities. We really do rely on my parents quite a lot for support and childcare because they are local. They are such a help with us both working, especially when one of the dc's are ill on a work day, or if we have appointments etc. I think because I'm lucky enough to have experienced support from extended family I always wonder how I'd cope if dh and I were completely on our own!

Hi tostaky too! Totally feel like you about the getting huge thing - it's a bit of a shock, as with Dd1 and Dd2 I was always told I was measuring small for dates. But not this time! It must be due to this being my third - think all my muscles inside are just collapsed or stretched now! (or am I in denial about eating a lot more than normal...could be that!). For the last week or so I decided I would be a lot more careful about what I was eating, cut out all the snacking etc...but of course I haven't actually done that at all!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. V.jealous of those of you who've already started on mat leave. I'm not finishing until 8th may to maximise time off with the baby afterwards, so ages still to go! I have had loads of school trips to lead as well this term, which means earlier starts and sometimes more time standing / walking. Tomorrow I'm taking a group of teenagers to a careers day in the centre of London, which will mean walking and then travelling / supervising them on the Tube - fun!!

I'm currently more preoccupied with dd2 than the pregnancy though. She's just going through her fifth bout of tonsillitis since July, and she's only 3. Seems to be on antibiotics every few weeks which i worry is making her immune, and she's just run down from the repeated illness, so all a bit worrying. We are waiting to see a consultant but we have to wait until April to see someone. Does anyone have any experience of how effective it is to remove tonsils? Does it actually prevent illness or does the infection just move further down the throat?
gotmylittlelamb how is your Sophia doing? And you and DP? Thinking of you.

GotMyLittleLamb · 04/03/2012 18:51

Hi lucky we are all doing really well. Sophia now weighs 1,020grammes which is 2lb 4oz, considering she was 750g/1lb 10oz it feels like mega progress :)
She is up to 2.5ml of milk every 2 hours now which is fab. We have had our down days and there are lots of niggly problems with Sophia but overall its positive news.
DH and I are doing well really, I'm oddly proud of us both for coping as well as we are, obviously it's not easy but we are closer than ever and sorting things together. Having a bit of a nightmare with 'systems' at the moment, DH is being told he can't delay his paternity leave til she comes home because he as to the it within 56 days of her birth. It seems a little unfair but we will sort it. Hs family are being a bit useless, MIL in particular, it's lucky he is so laid back.

Hope those that have started maternity leave are having a lovely relax :)

SirCharles · 04/03/2012 19:30

SES - saw your thread. have posted an essay.... sorry! basically - dont rush into these things. your DP may need to accept this is not the right job nor the right time.... this time. on the other hand it could be fabulous and ML could be the perfect time to dip a toe overseas for you.... so long as the package is right and you both can afford to come back if you dont like it (& dont assume it will be tax free - he has to break UK tax residency first which is not as easy as it sounds so he may have to save the UK tax amount until he knows he has broken UK tax residency - which could be a year or more). Get the right package, get the right tax advice & FFS do not accept a job overseas without a paid for recce trip....

Easy for me to say though as my parents lived overseas when I was at secondary school and I let DH take a job overseas last year whilst I stayed in the UK. Our future location is a little up in the air at the moment!!!! You see I am not so used to being "settled" in one place so not uneasy about it, whereas you might not like the uncertainty. Good luck! Sounds like your DP needs to step back a little and take a deep breath before exerting so much pressure at this time. As another poster said - Dubai is not the land of milk and honey and may not be right for your family. a 6 day week indeed - hurrumph - a big fat NO from me!!

gotmylittlelamb - yay for Sophia. boo for DH work being so inflexible. seems ridiculous that they cannot "pretend" he has taken it within the allowable period and then let him actually take the time in May when she is due home. boo hiss. I hope they sort that out. boo for his family too. hope you can sort that out - can you tell them what help would be useful to you? direct them a little?

lucky - oh your poor DC, how awful. can you kick up a stink and take her to A&E next time it kicks off and get a direct referral to a consultant sooner? My understanding is that it is better to have tonsils out as a kid (& it tends to be v successful for stopping such infections) but it is more difficult in adults. I sympathise as I used to suffer as a child and in my early 20s. it was miserable as a kid but worse as a teen/adult - every time I was run down in I would suffer a bout throughout uni & secondary school and finally one bout led to a horrible virus taking hold which knocked me for 6. My mother has always wondered why she did not push to have them out when i was a kid - but it just was not done then. My mum's hairdresser had hers out a few years ago - she was a changed girl! no longer continuously fighting infections and as a result had more energy and bloomed - lost weight, became more outgoing etc. This made my mum feel guilty at not having mine out!!

tostaky - are you sure you are so big?! I know what you mean though. I am overseas at the moment and all the white women here are tiny - like bean poles with balls up their jumpers. Even the local GP asked me if I had my dates right!!!!!!! grrrr. I pointed out I was fat before so perhaps that was the problem she denied that is what she meant :) in the meantime I am eating well and exercising so am hoping Baby is doing ok and not getting too big..... however with our Celtic blood I suspect we are not due a small child!!!!

Yorky · 04/03/2012 20:59

Hi all, sorry for falling off the thread again, my laptop has gone to be fixed after a cup of tea incident and I'm not keen on DHs iPad.
Enjoy ML miko
Hope the DD gets over her tonsillitis Tostaky - or was it someone else, it's so worrying when they don't seem able to shake an illness. DS had yet another d+v bug this weekend but is bouncing back now
Frustrating weekend as DH and I went to my parents hoping to fix our car as my dad has a full garage of tools but we couldn't finish it so he has to go back next weekend, just lucky MIL can lend him her car to get to work
Sick of heartburn, but SPD not as crippling (love my chiropractor) but MW on Thurs said my iron levels were borderline so now I'm on iron tablets to try and boost levels so I can still have my hub.
Good luck with the decision Ses, I don't envy you, and the timing doesn't help. June still feels like a long way off and I just want to know if DH is going to be made redundant or not, but in the meantime he's applying for a few jobs - one of which is in Oman!
Will try and keep up better but laptop not due back till thurs :(

LittleSarah · 05/03/2012 12:20

Hi all

Just a quick one from me.

Great weekend at doula course but not sure if I can handle birth doula-ing. Post natal fine but for birth you need to be on call for a month which I just don't see how I can manage with three kids! I have some nice friends but to drop three kids on them on a moment's notice?? Damn.

Getting stuff together for baby; got muslins (coloured, expensive but we are hardly buying anything really so I've justified it that way, and plain) and dh got a baby bjorn sling (for him, I like the wrap variety which my mum said she'd get me), a baby gym and a lovely baby sleeping bag a local second hand baby sale this weekend. He got there early and he is said it was okay for 2 mins and then manic! Really once wipes and moses basket are here I'll be pretty happy!

Also I won a raffle prize! So chuffed! Usually I never win anything, not even a scented candle or cheap bottle of wine and this time I got something really good, lunch and a swim for two at the local health spa/hotel! Dh was saying I should get a pregnancy massage so I was thinking for mother's day I could get that as a wee extra and have a lovely pampering afternoon with my mum. Honestly has really made me smile, I just bought a row of tickets at toddler group last week and thought no more of it. They were having a coffee morning thing at the weekend for the playgroup but because of doula course I couldn't go.

Hope everyone else is well; good luck with car and laptop yorky! Lucky _ also don't finish work for ages altho a little before you, end of April, really looking forward to it! Still waiting to have maternity allowance confirmed but sure it will be fine. Catsy - No drink at GTT here, just do a blood test, sounds like a lucky escape. Miko - Sorry about your buyers! What a bugger! SES - Dubai?? Oh my lord. I would find that very hard as it doesn't appeal to me at all but if you are the adventurous type maybe it would be okay? Sorry I haven't read your thread, really only checking antenatal at the moment, so not sure if you are really into the idea at all... littlelamb - so pleased you and your dh are coping well and that little Sophia is growing.

Right, not so quick after all, must take wee man to park!

LittleSarah · 05/03/2012 12:21

Oops! Meant to put yorky in bold there, not car and laptop!

BlueCrane · 05/03/2012 16:38

Afternoon all...sorry I keep falling off the thread as well Blush though I have been reading posts! I have 30 more working days left in the office, though don't actually finish until 27th April so a few weeks to go yet. I have next week off which I'm looking forward to!

SES I read part of your Dubai thread and there does seem to be very mixed advice on there! Did you and DH manage to get out for coffee and a chat last night? I think the whole thing sounds v exciting though the timing is pants re. your EDD!! If you do want to do a recce then you probably need to hop over there asap too before the doc/airline won't let you fly!

littlelamb glad to hear you're doing well...what a pain about DH's paternity leave...hope you can get it sorted out, and that lil Sopha's various health issues start to clear soon too!

sircharles are you flying back to the UK soon? Hope all the plans are coming together ok!

I have my 28wk MW check on thursday - what should I expect? Will she want to do bloods? Last app the MW was v v quick with everything and didn't answer any of my questions or explain anything so hoping I don't have her again this week (have had a different MW every app so far - would just be typical to get the least helpful one twice Hmm ). When they had to do my bloods at booking the MW couldn't get anywhere so I had to go to the hospital to get it sorted...hoping that doesn't happen again as I'll spend half of Thursday sat around waiting!!

Another question if I may...my LO seems to be SO SO active! I have decided it's a bit like having a hyperactive ferret in there...is anyone else finding this? Sleeping is getting v tricky due to pelvic pain in bed and constant kicking and wriggling making me need to wee the whole time and then during the day at work it's at it again - does it ever sleep!?!? Confused Am I in line to have a very hyperactive baby do you think? I do like having the movement as there is a certain comfort to it IYSWIM but it is moving a lot at the moment! I'm 28wks tomorrow.

Right...best get back to work...catch up later!

Wrigglebum · 05/03/2012 17:27

Littlelamb, I had a look on direct gov and it says the following about paternity leave:
"Your Ordinary Paternity Leave can start on any day of the week (but not before the baby is born). It has to finish within 56 days of the baby's birth. If the baby is born before the week it was due, it must finish within 56 days of the first day of that week. You can start Ordinary Paternity Leave after a period of parental leave has ended."

If I understand that correctly then paternity leave has to be taken within 56 days of the week Sophia was due, so as long as she is due home around the time she was due to be born then your DH can delay his paternity leave until then. Does that sound right? Anyone here better at decoding these things?! Might be worth investigating further. Glad she's doing so well.

Bluecrane I swear this baby doesn't sleep! Seems to be on the move all the time, not much kicking, just wriggling and stretching out a lot.

GotMyLittleLamb · 05/03/2012 18:41

Wriggle I read that week to mean the week she was born, however I am sleep deprived and confused and your interpretation makes much more sense. Thanks so much!!

SESthebrave · 06/03/2012 18:37

Hello all! Had a 28wk scan today due to the extra band of womb tissue that had been picked up at 20wk scan. It's still there but not causing a problem so that's ok. The measurements make this LO huge though! They reckon it is 3lb 2oz already at just 28wks and the head measurements were just off the top of the chart! Saw MW as well and she wasn't overly worried.

Thanks for all the comments about my Dubai thread. Saturday night out with DH was a bit of a disaster as we both ended up feeling upset and hurt and in tears. All a bit traumatic. I've never wanted to move abroad but even putting that aside and trying to be objective, it just doesn't seem to be the right time or place for us. DH feels I've shattered his dreams but I really can't see how we can justify DH moving out there for 2 months to get everything set up just as DC2 is due. The effects on me, DH and DC2 but also the fact that DS will be adjusting to having a sibling and his Daddy will be disappearing at the same time. When I worked it out I didmt see huge financial benefits in the long run either if his intention was for me to chuck my career in.
Anyway, DH has done a bit of sulking but I think / hope he realises I have a valid viewpoint in the interests of the whole family.

BlueCrane - I had my 28wk MW check today and she's given me a form for another lot of blood tests - full blood count, iron levels and the dreaded Glucose Tolerance Test. I'm pretty sure that is all routine.

Sorry got to go as DS demanding attention. Hello to everyone else!

cupcakefairy · 06/03/2012 23:15

bluecrane yes they will do bloods at your 28wk check so be prepared! :) hope u get a nice mw!
Also don't worry about an overactive Lo, mine is also ridiculously wriggly my bump is constantly throwing crazy shapes. Was the same with ds & although he is very active now he's not hyper or anything! :) u just have a strong baby.

sea sorry you & dh ended up feeling bit hurt by it all.. fwiw I think you're right its not the right time..I certainly wouldn't be ok with it. It's not shattering his dreams if you agree to consider it at a more suitable time.. hope u can work things out. Good news about the band though. Don't think too much about their weight charts, they actually have no way of knowing how much baby weighs now. I had a friend who was told all the way through pg she had a big baby, delivery would be difficult etc.. she ended up having a 6lb-er Hmm

LimeFlower · 08/03/2012 08:30

Morning everybody:)

mythical and miko I hope the viewing went well and you'd be able to move soon-you haven't got much time left?

my deepest sympathy to those with SPD,sciatica and the other stuff-I get sore backside sometimes but not too bad, more like discomfort.

tostaky join the club-I put 15 kg on so far Shock and will have to cut some stuff down from my diet-mainly bread-I'm gutted because I love bread.DP's away so I will feast on salads, soups and fruit without him nagging me that I'm starving the baby.

ses not an easy decision to make-it's definitely warmer and sunnier than here but completely different.Any chance of going there first for a "surveillance" and see how it looks like over there?

LittleLamb glad that your wee one makes a good progress,it will get better as she gets stronger.Good that she puts the weight on.Bugger MIL,she's not the most important at the moment. It's a shame they are such pita with paternity leave.

LuckySarah congrats on your win, enjoy the pampering :)

BlueCrane good luck with your appointment, yes, they will suck some bloods from you (had mine taken last week, hope nobody will call with some bad results)

Do we need a new thread?Just asking because even the ones at the end of a queue are in the 3rd trimester.

Somebody decided that had enough of sleeping today so got woken up about 6 am Hmm so got up,had a cuppa then it all went quiet.I suppose it's my first "mother on duty" call.

Congrats to all already on ML and the ones starting soon.I start mine at 38 weeks with some holidays just before and in between. Not too bad,in RL I've got just 3 weeks of work and that's me,hooray!

Had my 1st antenatal class yesterday,it was nice-4 couples and 2 singles(including me as DP works away).Strangely it covers just the basics, answering all the questions and so on but if I want to get some breathing technics I have to go to another classes which are held elsewhere.

Started getting clothes already-one of the guys at work brought me a full bag full of newborn stuff-handy,thanks to whoever adviced me to not to buy too much mysef:)

Seeing the names mentioned-I've got a list of names ready but will have to squeeze some ideas out of DP-so far got just a couple and wasn't too keen on any of them.Call me a fussy bugger but I don't want anything too popular or too fancy. The worst thing is that some names on the list I associate with people who have them and not all of them are nice(people not names). We'll probably wait until the baby is born and then see how it looks like:)

Shopping wise-still have to get bath, blankets, towels, muslin cloths, bedsheets, matress protector and goodness knows what else.As for cot I hope for 2nd hand one, will buy a new matress for it.My memory is like a sieve so haven't got a clue what else should I buy.

It's getting more and more difficult to find a comfy position either for sitting or sleeping.Went to town yesterday, couldn't lean over to shut the door in the car,my frien laughed at my waddling up the stairs with knees spread apart.I'll wait for her turn, and then I'll remind her...

Off to the kitchen to cook some beef for DP,beetroot soup for me (yum, yum,my favourite)

Take care everybody, will try to pop round a bit more often

LimeFlower · 08/03/2012 08:33

In case the 3rd trimester thread is started, can we have our EDD list in the first post?

SirCharles · 08/03/2012 09:13

in case we do start a new thread can I ask for the EDD list to go on the 2nd post? If the first post is really short it will help those logging in from mobile devices (the 1st post is reloaded every time & if it is long it slows the logging in process).
just a tip I read on another thread somewhere!

LimeFlower · 08/03/2012 09:42

Sorry,I didn't think about pov of mobile phone Blush ,thought that would be handy to have a list at the top of the page...

SirCharles · 08/03/2012 10:54

Morning ladies - has anyone else see the Ecologist Maternity Special? A Couple of interesting (ie thought provoking) articles to read in celebration of International Womens Day....
www.theecologist.org/News/news_analysis/1272163/birth_uncut_how_women_were_turned_off_natural_childbirth.html

www.theecologist.org/blogs_and_comments/commentators/other_comments/1272489/how_birth_was_hijacked.html

www.theecologist.org/News/news_analysis/1272162/labour_of_love_the_demise_of_traditional_midwifery.html

Chimes with me at the moment - my hypnobirthing CD & book arrived today! We start our classes next month - fingers crossed have enough time to practice. Even if it does not remove the need for drugs at least it might allow this stressed out diva to relax a little more than she usually does under stress!

SirCharles · 08/03/2012 11:18

Just catching up on the thread....

does anyone else have a view on those dream genii & other sleep pillows?

I have been told we (us Trimester 3 Preggies) should sleep on our left side and avoid lying on our backs for long, esp at night.... however although i start on my left side i wake up at 3am on my back!! I do not want to buy a special pillow and discover it does not stop the problem when i could probably make a bolster and put it behind me instead and put a small pillow between my knees....... do we need special pillows?!

My husband suggested the dream genii one as it says it doubles as a breastfeeding pillow - does anyone know if it is any good at this dual role or am I better off with a special BF pillow? so many questions - i really hate the idea of buying something & then discovering it does not do what I want it to do!!

morning limeflower - a list at the top will def be handy - especially when we start crossing people off as they pop!

When will we start our shiny new thread?

I am 30 weeks this Saturday but i feel as if time has slowed down and the next 10 weeks could go very slowly indeed as i slowly balloon.... is anyone else feeling the same?

Is anyone else's DP delighting in the idea of their belly button popping out? Mine keeps looking at my inny and saying things like "ooooh, not long now" & making popping sounds with his mouth!! Quite freaky...

Re weight gain - well i went a bit loopy in the first trimester & over the festive period so put on loads - about 5kgs Blush .... My BMI was just hitting 30 when I conceived so the Consultant was at pains to point out that in an ideal world i should not put on any weight at all.... yes really. so it has felt like a losing battle ever since!! I started at 78kg and am now at 86kg (8kg gain), at 29+5. (roughly 172lbs to 189lbs ie 17 lbs gain) so I feel like it is going ok at the moment. TBH I now know I would probably have had fewer (later?) problems with Piles if I had a BMI of up to 25 throughout this pregnancy, however you live & learn. Fingers crossed if we do decide to have more kids I can do my best to be a better weight before we TTC.....

off to see the Joburg consultant this afternoon - they scan at every appt here so i wonder what we will see this time, hopefully a LO that is not so huge (measuring a week or 2 ahead last month & in Jan - eek!). Fingers crossed he will let me fly back in 3 weeks too.

Re names - fanfare please..... DH & I may have agreed on a boy & girl name.....yay! finally had a proper conversation about it and he flicked through the baby names book and had a look on Baby Centre to see what the most popular names have been recently and actually joined in. They are my original choices but he seems happy with them. Am keeping them secret though, in case we decide they don't suit the Baby when s/he is born and have to start all over again!! We do not have a short list you see as he usually hates the names i suggest and has few acceptable suggestions to me!

BlueCrane · 08/03/2012 11:59

Morning all...just back from 28wk MW app and all is well Smile Mini-blue is apparently head down with legs and bum kicking my bump...that would be what all the movement is then!! So it must be little hands that keep tapping on my hip bones too! I measured 27cm but the MW didn't press as hard to find the exact top and bottom of my uterus this time so as someone else said I'm not particularly concerned about the smaller measurement.

Re. weight gain I started off at 10st5 and yesterday weighed in at 11st10 which is a 19lb increase I think. What has been a tad irritating is that when I came off the pill I was about 9st8, then by the time we started TTC I was just over 10st (I thought you lost weight when you came off the pill?!?) but then had an MMC before conceiving this bean and in the mean time put on those extra 5lb...so am definitely feeling a lot heavier/larger than I would like to be and not liking photos at the moment as my face definitely feels rounder!! Having said all of that I feel as though my body is slimming a little at the moment as bump is getting bigger - or maybe bump being bigger is just balancing it out Blush

Right...back to work...will hope back on for a better catch up at lunchtime!

LimeFlower · 08/03/2012 13:15

SirCharles I tried very hard to sleep on my left side-that's the position I go to sleep but I wake up usually on my back.I'm afraid I'm not concious when I'm asleep so can't control it.Sleeping in my favourite position-on my belly is long forgotten.

Haven't got additional pillows or any fancy ones-thought about buying something as my legs are working overtime in bed sometimes.

Timewise it feels completely different-met a guy at the weekend from the same village, his wife is due on 9th of May-he said"oh,well, not long to go now, just 9 weeks".I looked at him in disbelief and thought "my goodness,I'm not far behind her" Shock

Weight-started at 54kgs,now 69,mw never said I gained too much but adviced to reduce some stuff from my diet ok,i ate a few pizzas in the last few months

Congrats on name-I suppose I'll have a battle with DP as he suggested something "nice and Gaelic".Hope that being a foreigner myself I'll be able to pronounce it Hmm

BlueCrane 28 weeks and head down already?wow,I'm jealous.Mine one still in the up position, although I'm wondering if it's still the case after this morning acrobatics that have woken me up.

As for new thread-I leave it up to majority-was pretty much absent for the last few weeks so don't feel like I've got the right to decide.

Off for a snooze as I'm starting the nightshift tonight, gentle hugs and taps to your bumps:)

BlueCrane · 08/03/2012 14:14

lime and sircharles when i asked the MW about sleeping positions she said not to stress too much if you wake up on your back...your body will make you move when it becomes an issue as you'll probably be struggling to breathe and will then have to move iyswim!!!

lime i was quite suprised when she said head was down, but then I think LO is still quite capable of doing flips and somersaults so I suspect it may have been mere coincidence that was the case this morning...will see where it's at when i have my next app at 31+2! I must say I don't envy your night shifts though...hope you get a good rest this afternoon.

We're nearly there with names...the girls one is pretty much sorted though may still have some middle name tweaking - first name is definite. Boys we are more certain of middle names than the first name Hmm so still a bit to go on that. Annoyingly DH dislikes most of the boys names I come up with - he was part of too big a group of friends growing up methinks as each time I suggest something he says something like 'oh no, so-and-so was called'. I've been through online name lists soooo many times for boys names though. We (well me mainly) also want to avoid something that's too popular. I landed with the most popular girls name of the early 80's and at one point there were 4 of us in my class with the same name, so would like to avoid that as it was a bit irritating!

cupcake thanks for the reassurance on the wriggling! TBH I feel lots happier this afternoon knowing which body parts it is that i can probably feel...tis a lot less bizarre if that makes any sense!
