Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Morning! squeeze

Rough night for DD1 again here, lots of nightmares. So she has been quite emotional so far this morning. I do wish I could just stop them.

I'm starting to feel lethargic in a late pregnancy, just want to curl up by the fire kind of way...not a bad feeling at all, more wanting to enjoy the last few weeks while I'm still comfortable enough to do so!

I feel knitting, lots of tea and a blanket are going to feature heavily in my day. I am aware that this makes me sound like an OAP Grin I swear I'm only 27!

KateM77 · 09/11/2011 08:59

Thanks Darcies. Hope you got some good rest and are feeling a bit better today. DON'T go to work if you're not right still!

Msbuggy Sorry to hear you and DD1 are suffering. Fingers crossed the day improves from here on

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 09:21

Msbuggy Do you know what causes your DD to have nightmares? Bless her sounds like you both need time curled up by the fire.

Kate I'm off work today, seeing the MW at 11:30 had to kinda sit on the edge of the sofa last night - talk about bowling ball pressure! DP thought it was weird and didn't look comfortable, I told him I was very comfortable lol. my dad said and that is why women carry the babys lol.

Had a strange pain in the night, so getting checked out this morning as still having period cramps this morning :( also feel my bump has dropped more too.

aethelfleda · 09/11/2011 09:40

(yawn) Morning! Have been quite lucky with sleep so far this pregnancy: with the DDs i was up 3 times a night to pee at this stage...but woke up at4am today and just could not get comfy/back to sleep! Arrg.

On the plus side have no plans this morning at all so will combime some very gentle housework with a good deal of lazing about eating a treat Danish Pastry I got from the Co-op on the way home from the school run.

aethelfleda · 09/11/2011 09:43

And Darcies, well done for staying home today, good luck with the midwife!

msbuggy, totally feel for you and DD re the dreams. Maybe worth investing in a dreamcatcher or a safe-space type reassurance?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 09:53

Thanks Aethel Enjoy your Danish Pastry.

Feel v.crampy and baby is low :(

msbuggywinkle · 09/11/2011 09:57

aethel we made a dream catcher together when she first started having them, it did work for quite a while.

I think the main problem is that she is generally quite anxious and doesn't find it easy to express herself. So it comes out in dreams. It was always going to be a peak time for anxiety for her having another baby, she is so very excited but is worried too. She finds it difficult being the eldest, not helped by people wittering on about her having to look after her little sisters which is nonsense. So many people say it, that it doesn't matter how often I tell her that the looking after is my and DP's job.

Happier things...we just started making our advent calendar! I'll assemble it later on and DP will draw pictures for behind the windows tonight. It has a different activity for each day, mostly very simple ones or things that other people can do with the DDs easily. I feel all Christmassy now!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/11/2011 10:00

Msbuggy Would it help if you had a chat with her before bedtimes to try and get rid of some of her anxieties?
Sounds good about the Advent Calendar :)

Mmmmcheese · 09/11/2011 10:23

I had another bad night, very crampy, lots of bh and stabby pains right at the bottom where her head is. Still feeling sick as well and only only got 4 hours sleep. I really want her to stay in a bit longer but on the othrr hand i am sick of being pregnant and in pain! It really feels like it wont be long now but i want her to stay in until 35 weeks, which is in another 10 days.

Xiaoxiong · 09/11/2011 10:24

mrsbuggy I still often have nightmares (usually about my teeth falling out Hmm) and the only things I've found that help are badger balm sleep balm on my temples and on either side of my nose over my sinuses, and DH doing the old light touch massage till I drift off. So I feel for your DD, poor mite...

Darcies I went off work two weeks before I officially was supposed to end, for the same sort of reasons - it was actually great because when I went back for my last day to pick up my birthing ball and clear my desk, my colleagues had already done pretty much all the handover stuff themselves without bothering me - in a weird way it was nice to know how dispensable I am, hopefully means they won't be contacting me at all over mat leave Smile

I'm waiting in for all the reusable nappies to be delivered today...can't wait! And cramming for the driving theory test tomorrow, boo. The worst thing is - I've had a US licence since I was 19, and yet somehow 9 years of completely safe driving in the US and I still am failing the stupid hazard awareness test Confused

Xiaoxiong · 09/11/2011 10:28

Ooh also wanted to bring this up - there's a full moon on December 10th. I would be fascinated to see if we had a cluster of births right around then...

mopsytop · 09/11/2011 11:03

Tyel is a full moon supposed to bring on birth? Never heard that! Interesting ...

HoneyLovesCake · 09/11/2011 11:05

Morning all. MW just left & 1 am 1-2/5 engaged...I know that's nothing really but I had thought the LO wasn't engaged at all so am ridiculously excited. Crossing fingers & toes that this means I won't be having a 42+weeker. Grin

After all the fuss with my iron levels, insisting on an appt today for a blood test she has decided to come back sometime on Monday to give me a chance to get it up a bit higher. We went over the birth plan most of which is fine...she had no problem with the length just said that anything to do with transfer to hospital/emergencies should be on a separate page as it wouldn't be needed if everything goes to plan. That the font should be bigger for old/tired eyes & points should be better spaced for easier reading.

Interestingly when we discussed my policy of no unnecessary internals she said that she'd checked her own cervix at her homebirth & when I asked how she felt about me doing so she said that was fine & that there was virtually no risk of breaking waters as I don't have long sharp nails & am already familiar with checking it.

msbuggywinkle · 09/11/2011 11:19

10th would be bad for me, DP has his work night out on the 9th! However, it is quite likely...I went into latent phase of labour with both DDs on the first night of a full moon.

Thank you tyel badger balm ordered! A friend has recommended getting her some worry dolls, the idea being that she tells them her worries, puts them under her pillow and they 'look after' her worries for her over night. Sounds like it might help. She mainly has nightmares about losing or breaking things, she is really anxious about things breaking anyway, we have to turn off programmes that have things breaking in them, she goes all tense and makes a noise like a dog whining!

Xiaoxiong · 09/11/2011 11:19

mopsy - my MIL told me that they were always ridiculously busy on the wards around full moons, but when I looked into it apparently there's a weak but not statistically significant increase in the chances of a woman giving birth when there's a full moon. Given the lack of statistical significance in the studies I've read, I think it's more likely that cognitive bias was in play - ie. my MIL noticing the wards were really busy and then noticing the full moon, but failing to notice the quiet times when the moon was equally full) but just thought it would be fun to see if we have a spike in births around the 10th Smile

mopsytop · 09/11/2011 11:23

Will be interesting! I will be 38 weeks then, would be perfect :)

Xiaoxiong · 09/11/2011 11:40

I'd be 41 weeks - so that wouldn't be too unusual either, though I don't want to be pregnant for another four weeks [impatient]

plupervert · 09/11/2011 11:58

Full moon and an empty belly?! Sounds like a fun paradox - though not for anyone due earlier!

fusam · 09/11/2011 12:03

I will be 37 weeks on the 10th of december and would be over the moon Grin to give birth by then!

msbuggywinkle sorry about the nightmares, DD had the same about 6 months ago but she had a bit of a viral infection. I don't know if it's worth checking out.

KateM77 · 09/11/2011 12:05

The 10th is my due date...not that I'm expecting to go that long, and I think it's highly unlikely that baby will actually arrive on due date :)

Hope all goes well with the appointment Darcies

Took DD to a soft play and bouncy castle session at the leisure centre this morning. Think I'm getting a bit big in the bump department for bouncy castles now Grin

aethelfleda · 09/11/2011 12:17

I had DD2 on the full moon! Was 41 weeks though. This time I would be 37+5 so I suspect Widget won't quite have finished brewing by then...

hawthers · 09/11/2011 12:23

10th would be perfect for me too

OiMissus · 09/11/2011 12:31

If my baby is still inside on the 10th I'm ordering a bouncy castle!!! I'm due on the 2nd, so would be mightily tired and frustrated by then!

HoneyLovesCake · 09/11/2011 12:40

Totally agree Oi...my birthday's the 6th & I want to still be 30 when I have my first child so I will be going for acupressure & reflexology if LO is not here by the 2nd...bouncy castle sounds good too :)

LittleMissFlustered · 09/11/2011 12:51

I'm more likely to go for the January full moon >_<

Consultant was 'away' today so had junior person who was lovely. Was just like a normal midwife appointment, with a quick scan thrown in to check waters for some reason.

Bought a steriliser and a couple of bottles for just in case today. Very reasonably proced, and if not needed it looks like the octopod from octonauts so my son can play with it:o

Having coffee now then heading home to dump stuffs as I'll never manage to carry it and my backpack (had to abandon handbag long time ago:( ) and my daughter's new musical instrument of torture home! I'd make her carry it, but the case is about the same size she is >_< :o
